Things definitely improved on this visit. Sat af bar and had $15 special. Ths grilled shrimp was well seasoned and cooked and the rice pilaf was fluffy. The baked potato soup to start was loaded and of course bread was great.

I used to come here a lot even when I was younger with my family. This time. I ordered delivery of the potato bacon soup and the kingsland pasta of shrimp and steak. I will say I'm not impressed and honestly disappointed if I spent 50 bucks on this. The soup would've been amazing if it wasn't so salty. It tastes like a regular loaded baked potato soup with green onion and bacon but it was so salty. Then the pasta ‍. I can't even. The taste of it was fine. It really tasted fine. But presentation wise and quality wise was terribly. I can't believe I got this itty bitty scrap of steak and I don't even know about the shrimp. Looks absolutely NOTHING like the photo. In the photo on the menu it shows a lot more steak and shrimp. The shrimp in the menu photo is also a dark red color and these are not. I'm not sure if this is the same type of shrimp. I asked for medium rare and did not get medium rare. Very disappointed. If you would not serve this on a plate in a restaurant why in the hell would you send it to delivery?

Sat and waited for a server no one came , so sat in bar and still , no one. I left and gave my money to cold beer and cheeseburgers. Get it together outback. It was dead in there and I see why. Crap service.

I have been coming here for years. Today was my wife's birthday and was treated to a birthday dessert which is always appreciated. There was a miss understanding on the price of a bottle of wine and the manager was more than considerate in the adjustment. Much appreciated. You will not be disappointed if you eat here.

Great dinner! Had a newer server and she was great! Food was excellent, hot, just as ordered. Had the bloomin onion (of course) along with steak and shrimp. Server was super attentive without interrupting etc. have been coming here for years and keep coming back!!

This is the best location. James, gm is great. Rebecca is a great server. The chicken on a Barbie is great, mash potatoes & salad.

Well now that I was feeling better I came out. I was craving French onion soup. The broth was good, I mentioned to the waiter, there is NO ONION,he said he mentioned it to the kitchen and said he was told it was a bad batch! And they still wanted to charge me! Wow! Sent a message to the contact as I was asked!

It was a Happy New Year's Eve at our house with a "dinner for two" except not. Attempt # 2 with an order from Door Dash. I ordered the blooming onion appetizer, the Victoria filet mignon, lobster tail and baked potato, baked potato soup, a side house salad, a salted caramel cookie skillet and a New York style cheesecake. Yes, it was a lot of food but went out with a bang, lol. The restaurant forgot to put my main course in the bag which was the baked potato soup so unfortunately it was just salad and dessert for me. There needs to be someone checking the orders twice because it seems door dash orders are always missing something. It was a great meal for my husband who enjoyed every last bit of his last meal of 2024!!

The food was extremely high quality, including the excellent seafood bar. The steaks were similarly outstanding and perfectly cooked. Only thing missing in my book is my preferred steakhouse potato side dish- crispy hash browns. Too full for dessert but also did not see my other steakhouse favorite "side", a hot fudge Sunday. Service was excellent as it should be given the premium pricing. Cocktails and selection of liquors was top shelf but (as you sometimes find in Steakhouses) wine list as meh and I consider the absence of half bottles a major flaw for an otherwise top notch restaurant. The first thing that hit me was the impeccably romantic decor. The lighting is soft without being dim, the textures are rich, and the entire space feels intentionally designed to make you slow down and savor the moment. The steaks are, simply put, phenomenal. Perfectly cooked, deeply flavorful, and served with the kind of confidence that only comes from a kitchen that knows exactly what it's doing. Every bite reminded me why Steak 44 has such a strong reputation. The sides are hearty and generous, the kind you want to share but secretly wish you didn't have to. Whether it's potatoes, vegetables, or something richer, each dish feels crafted with the same care as the steaks themselves. The service was exceptional from start to finish. Attentive without hovering, polished without feeling stiff. Every staff member I interacted with seemed genuinely invested in making sure I had a great experience. It's rare to find service that feels both professional and personal, but Steak 44 nails it.

He was enthusiastic and provided a worry free experience. If you had a question, he got an answer. If you needed anything, he got it covered. He provided a very relaxing evening after a long work week. Additionally, all of our food came out in a very timely manner. Now the food. For starters, I opted for the tenderloin chili which was very flavorful. Despite the cheese not looking melted on top of the chili, it was perfectly heated and had a little spicy kick to it as well. The jalapeño honey cornbread was the perfect pairing. For the entree, I went with the filet mignon which was cooked to perfection, medium rare plus. It was flavorful and melted in my mouth. Rarely do I finish a steak in one sitting but I was determined to enjoy every bite. My steak was paired with their parmesan potatoes which was like an elevated au gratin. Both items were very delicious. For drinks I had the copper spur which was a slight riff on a classic gold rush cocktail. For dessert, I had the chocolate mousse which was like chocolate pudding with pizazz. Again, both items were very good. All in all, I would absolutely return. Easy 5/5 for me .

Some of the standout items for us were the mocktails and the pasta. The Pillows of Love pasta absolutely lived up to the hype and was one of the highlights of the meal. We also enjoyed the mac and cheese, mushrooms, steak, and seafood. Everything was beautifully prepared, high quality, and worthy of the restaurant's reputation. If I had one minor critique, it would be the king crab legs. They are char-grilled, which gives them a smoky flavor that wasn't quite our personal preference. That said, the quality of the crab itself was excellent, and it's more a matter of taste than a criticism of the preparation. The atmosphere made for a perfect birthday dinner--upscale, energetic, and memorable without feeling stuffy. Combined with outstanding food and attentive service, it made for a special evening that my wife and I won't forget. Buck & Rider has officially become one of those places where I start planning my return visit…read morebefore I've even paid the bill. Let's address the obvious challenge: convincing people that outstanding seafood exists in the Arizona desert. Somehow, Buck & Rider pulls it off. Everything tasted incredibly fresh, from the seafood appetizers to the main courses. The tuna crispy rice disappeared from our table so quickly that I barely had time to snap a photo--a true Yelp tragedy. The crab cakes deserve their own fan club. Packed with crab, lightly crisp on the outside, and not weighed down by filler, they're the kind of dish that makes you immediately start calculating how often you can reasonably come back without alarming your bank account. The atmosphere hits that sweet spot between upscale and approachable. You can celebrate a birthday, enjoy date night, impress out-of-town guests, or simply show up hungry and leave happy. The open kitchen adds some energy to the room, and even when the restaurant is buzzing, the service remains polished and attentive. Speaking of service, our server was fantastic--friendly, knowledgeable, and somehow always appeared exactly when we needed something. Water glasses stayed full, recommendations were spot-on, and the entire staff seemed genuinely invested in making sure guests had a great experience. For dessert, the lemon meringue pie is less of a dessert and more of a commitment. It's huge, delicious, and worth every bite. Order it. Future you will be grateful. The only downside? Buck & Rider has ruined my expectations for seafood in Phoenix. Now every time I order seafood somewhere else, I'm comparing it to this meal and wondering where things went wrong. Bottom line: Fresh seafood, excellent service, lively atmosphere, and several dishes that will haunt your dreams in the best possible way. Highly recommended.

The Papas Verde had an addicting tang from the tomatillo salsa but were brilliantly balanced out by the chorizo and asadero cheese. The shaved brussel salad could have used a little more date and chile to balance out the vinegar but I was pleased either way. The elote was probably the only thing that fell short execution-wise as I didn't get much of the chorizo flavor, but the cook on the corn itself was perfect. The Gambas al Ajillo are absolutely a must-get. Juicy, sweet shrimp with an unexpected kick from the butter sauce and unsurprisingly great bread from Noble. The Tlayuda was a little heavy on the lettuce, but the smoked pork and bean puree combo were so flavorful that it helped balance out the richness with texture and freshness. I also loved the crispy contrast from the fried tortilla. We ended with the Concha and Mango Sticky Rice ice cream which sounded pretty simple but was quite impressive in its own right. The ice cream was a touch too frozen, but it ended up working out well with the crunchy cornflake coating and lightly warmed, pillowy concha to make a really satisfying ending to our meal. Service was excellent and the patio was well-lit and had heaters ready for colder weather. Vecina is on the pricier side for sure, but you will not be disappointed.

Our waitress was super knowledgeable and gave great recommendations. The spot is small and chic. It's very intimate dining so you'll be sitting close to the table next to you. Luckily, it's a quiet and calm space, so no need to worry about noise. The food was incredible. The salmon crudo was possibly the best crudo I have ever had in my entire life. So fresh and the flavors were balanced to perfection. The risotto changed my life... it was so delicious I couldn't even believe it. The only thing I would recommend skipping was the octopus tostada - not my favorite and a little fishy for my liking. Personal preference of course! The duck tasted great and was beautifully presented, but it wasn't my favorite. Again, I'm not a huge meat eater so take my advice on this one with a grain of salt. To start, the menu is a bit puzzling. It's kind of like a handful of Asian-inspired dishes, a handful of Mexican/South American, and a handful of French or New American. But there's not enough of each to chart a course through one type of cuisine. So, basically you're gonna have a cultural melange meal. Hamachi crudo was really good and fairly unique. The halibut was excellently prepared but not particularly innovative in any way I could tell. Zucchini had goat cheese, which wasn't immediately clear from the description, so I didn't enjoy the rude surprise I got when I took my first bite, and didn't eat anymore, as I really despise the stuff. So that was a waste. Not a dig on the dish, just a personal thing I wish I had more notice of. There were other issues though. The wine list was exceptionally small, They were out of the bread, which is supposedly a must-try. And then we were going to get the steak but the folks next to us advised against it, showing their cut that had zero fat. They said it was leather. On that point, the tables are SUPER CLOSE. Like, a couple inches apart. You hear everything and almost can't avoid getting entwined into others' conversation. We liked the people we were next to, but be aware that it's an unintentionally awkward communal experience that's not well-suited to a date night. The service was pretty good, they put out a nice printed greeting with the reservation name, and give you a sparkling wine toast. But considering the price and overall experience we had, I'd pass and not come back.
