I've been a patron of this restaurant almost since the day it was built. We get "take-away" at least once a month. At Christmas, relatives give me Outback gift cards. But THIS review is only about one item, the grilled shrimp. I expected a pile of shrimp for my ten dollars and change. Instead I got two skewers with four shrimp on each. A total of eight medium-sized shrimp. That's about $1.31 per shrimp. Sure, the shrimp were tasty and the garlic, butter sauce was excellent.....but $1.31 per shrimp is simply outbackrageous! read more

I have been a 'regular' at this particular Outback since the place opened 22+years ago! I am well known by the managers, servers, bartenders, receptionists and former proprietors. Some of the servers left when the new proprietor arrived. I did not hear good things about him, but it is my friendly go-to restaurant. I've witnessed and heard that the current proprietor is hostile to the employees, extremely unfriendly to the point of being rude by ignoring the customers, including the regulars. He admitted today that his people skills are not good. I will never go back! It is not the Outback I once knew. I now look forward to becoming a regular at the new place next door and also one of my favorite dinner places, the Salty Sow, is now open for lunch. read more

Got the Ribeye steak & this being a steakhouse & the best cut I expected a thick juicy tasty steak. Far from it! What I got was all fat not even edible I had to search around just to get one nibble of steak! Are you kidding me? This was terrible. I sent it back and they took it off my bill. 5-26-13 Just went their to celebrate a wedding anniversary. with my hubby. My steak was undercooked. I ordered Medium, not med. rare or rare. When I cut my steak and it was bloody and rare, the waitress asked if she could have the kitchen cook it a little more, I agreed. When the manager return with it about 15 min. later he asked me to cut it. I did, it was so tough I could barely cut through it. Felt like a piece of meat that had been microwaved . Did not even taste as if it had been seasoned or seared. Now it was med well in the center and the rest well done. Dry, tasteless, like chewing shoe leather. The manager then asked me if the waitress explained how they cook their meat. I said yes and that I had been going there since their grand opening years ago and that Medium means pink throughout with a hind of red. I asked to just get me some steak sauce. He said well do you want me to comp your meal. I felt he was rude and demeaning the way he was speaking to me. I wanted a steak not a free meal. I asked him to just bring me steak sauce which took another 10 minutes. By this time my husband was done eating. The manager was too busy standing in the bar watching the ballgame to take care of his restaurant and his customers. I would rather go somewhere else then pay $20 for a steak that was uneatable. I could barely cut it with the steak knife. I for one am done with Outback. I know places are trying to cut back on expenses, but this kind of customer service looses loyal frequent customers. came here for a nice lunch with my boyfriend. everything was great, we got seated as soon as we got there and drinks and food came out in no time. however, the waitress seemed to be out of sight majorly of our meal. before we were even done with our meal was asking us if we wanted any desert and how to pay. overall just felt rushed and not wanted here. very unpleasant feeling to have when on a date. read more

My wife and I had supper at Bristol VA... July 4th 2017... It took us an hour to get our food.... We had called the manager over as we were going to leave! The waitress said the cook burnt my wife's meal and were making another... When she got her meal there was hardly any steak in her quesadillas. Never tried this before, but I ordered a steak dinner "to go". I requested the roasted sirloin "well done" and it turned out excellent along with the baked potato with all the toppings. The Onion Petals were a very nice add-on. I will do this again as the staff packaged up this meal just right so it was piping hot when I arrived home to enjoy it! read more

Excellent waitress, decent food and we've been there many times over the years. Tonight, it took an extremely long time to receive our entrees (3 of us dining). We didn't complain and the manager came by to apologize and offer complimentary desert to have there or that we could take home (we were quite impressed). Our waitress came back by shortly after and took our orders only to return later and tell us only one desert was being offered by the manager. Wait, what? As I recall, all three of us waited way too long to receive our meal, the waitress also understood that the offer was extended to each of us, and to tell two of us "sorry, but we didn't really mean it" was LOW CLASS. It goes without saying we won't return. We still treated our waitress well (nice tip and no venting to her). The manager however should know that was a mistake and we'll go elsewhere in the future. read more

Very disappointed!! Yesterday, I took my sister and parents to this Outback Steakhouse to celebrate my sister's birthday. The food was fine, but the background music in the restaurant was so loud we could hardly hear each other. Twice I asked the waitstaff if they could turn the volume down and twice I was told they would do so. Yet despite two separate requests, the volume remained unchanged. Stopped in for lunch, waited over 45 minutes from order time to entree delivery, Manager indicated he thought performance was unacceptable and offered a step ped up beverage ( what can you do to iced tea?) or a free dessert, We declined dessert at lunchtime and really just wanted to receive our order in a reasonable amount of time. Not sure why Outback is always so picked on as it seems most locations get so so to poor reviews. Went last night and it was good stuff!! We went to Outback today to celebrate my daughter's birthday with a nice steak dinner. We were seated right away but then the wait staff and the manager on duty completely ignored us. We were never even acknowleged, no one said hi or offered us any water or anything. After15 minutes we got up to leave. We informed the manager on our way out, he offered to take care of us right now but we left. We went to Longhorn Steak house down the road and staff, food and drinks were great there. Don't waste your time with Outback, go straight to Longhorn. It's worth it read more

I have been going to this Outback for years, and I must say that I was very disappointed in the food this time. My ribs were charred and over done to the point of being stringy- could barely gnaw any meat off of them. I told the waitress, and she said she would let someone know. At the end of the meal the manager came over, told me I should have let them know earlier for a replacement dinner (which I did- it just took him forever to check it out). Very disappointed in my experiences with this Outback. The service is good, but the food is horrible. When I got my food I was disappointed to find that my French fries looked like they had been rolled and sat in grease for about 3 hours. The food was excellent. However the service was very slow, an appetizer arrived without sauce, water not refilled, dishes stacked up due to a lack of bussing. Dinner for 3 took more than 2 hours. When we left after dessert, there were still dinner dishes, bread, and empty glasses on the table. This saddens me, because I love the food. read more

Our waiter smelled horrible! It wasn't even that busy where I could understand him having B.O. We orded soup and mac and cheese for our dinner. Im not a big fan of the steaks from here. Its hit or miss and id rather not risk a miss and end up with a steak that isnt tender. We could tell right away that our waiter had an attitude after we ordered. We werent very hungry and i was craving the mac and cheese. It is a kids dish but i would order it if they raised the price and made it a dish on the menu. Its so good when they dont make it watery, which they did this time. We had to wait almost 10 minutes after we ordered for our bread and for my drink. After we got our food our waiter never Checked on us. He walked by a dozen times but no refills and no more bread. There was also a small fly buzzing around and a Tiny gnat on our table. When we got our check there was a charge for 2 drinks we did not order! I was furious at that point. When I told the waiter he didn't even seem surprised but rather almost annoyed! I get that our bill was not going to be huge but it doesn't mean our service has to be so bad. Whenever I split a dish or order small items as my entree I always leave a good tip. The bill usually comes out to about $20 like this time and normally I would have tipped $5-6 if the service was good or even decent. I just can't believe he thought he could add onto our bill and get away with it! read more

I had called the restaurant; specifically asked if they were taking reservations for Valentine's Day dinner. The young lady I spoke with said "yes" we are. I asked about a 5:30 p.m. reservation, I was told they did not have anything until 6:30 or later in the evening. I took a 6:30 reservation...or so I thought. We've ate at this location (Cactus) several times, good food and service and I am aware of their call ahead seating which is why I asked specifically about Valentine's Day and if they were taking reservations for that day only. We arrived at 6:20, checked in for our "reservation" and was told "we don't take reservations" and it's a 55 minute wait. I told them what I had been told previously(that they were taking reservations for Valentine's Day) then calmly told them the big difference between "Call Ahead Seating" and a "Reservation". I think Management needs to make it PERFECTLY CLEAR to their host and hostess staff the difference between the two. Some training is obviously needed. That mistake did not make for a nice dinner experience for Valentine's Day, we won't go back. read more

It was my first time at outback tonight. We got greeted really fast. Only waited for barely 5 minutes while the host was clearly trying to make sure we got seated. He was very organized with making sure tables were cleaned fast. He got us a bar table. Which I love the booths. Our waitress was Cailyn, she was so sweet! She helped when I asked questions and was super informative about the menu. Her recommendations helped me find my new favorite salad! That blue cheese wedge salad is phenomenal. What a great experience. Will definitely be back for more. We also overheard a conversation between a guest and a manager, the manager handled it so professionally! I work in customer service at Davids Bridal so I know what it's like when people want menu changes or try to get discounts for things. The manager was so professional and so nice about the whole situation. Overall, such a great experience! I love this place! Thank you! read more

One of the worst experiences I have had in a long time. I eat out a bunch and I know my way around a restaurant. 45 minutes after I ordered my to go order, I asked the bar tender to check on it for me, she looked and found it was sitting next to the bar. Tonight not only did the bar tender not care enough but the supposed manager who came out of the kitchen had nothing to say except I'm sorry. When I left, I placed my to go sack on the pic nick table on their porch I didn't even want it after having such a bad experience. Outback once had a great concept they offered great food and good service at a reasonable price but no more! Now they just don't care and tonight their employees and management proved it to me! I sent a email to the Corp office and the next day got a call back from the store manager. When I returned her call I was told that she was in a meeting. That was part of the problem, the mgr should be on the floor with customers and staff not stuck in meetings. That was it for me, I'm done with this place and I recommend you stay away as well and support your locally owned restaurants. read more

We took our neighbor and her two children out for lunch on Saturday to celebrate her birthday. We haven't been to Outback for awhile but we all remembered the blooming onion, so that was a must. Couldn't believe my eyes when it came--a tiny greasy thing--nothing like it used to be. I ordered a rib eye which was about 3/8" thick--if that. My husband had a half rack of ribs--4 whole ribs! One person had shrimp and filet. The shrimp were so heavily coated, it was hard cutting into them. Another person had chicken--wasn't much of that either. Couldn't believe there was no complimentary dessert offered for birthdays. We ordered the brownie and ice cream for $9 something. Don't think the brownie was 1/2" thick--nothing like the picture on the menu. The bill came to about $150 for lunch!!! The waiter was very nice--that's the only good thing I have to say about your restaurant. It's the last time you'll ever see us there. read more
