Out of all the fun foodie places in Scottsdale to go to, I am happy we ended up at Red Lobster for our family dinner! We were greeted warmly at the start of dinner service and our waitress was fabulous. I had forgotten how good Red Lobster was, and we all enjoyed it! We had a part of 6 and order mainly either a Surf and Turf or shrimp dishes. The cheddar biscuits were as delicious and buttery as ever, and our lobster was so good. I did order my sirloin medium rare, but it was a little over done to my liking, but it was still good. I also enjoyed their broccoli - how interesting but it was very good! It's expensive but occasionally we have lunch on special occasions. Laurie was our server and she was terrific. We ordered the grilled trout and the fish and chips. OMG, how UTERLY disappointing! I used to LOVE Red Lobster for a generic seafood restaurant experience, but I haven't eaten at one for a few years. The last time I did was this exact restaurant on East Cactus here in Phoenix and it was fine. Ok, I had a craving for some battered and fried seafood today, (I'm usually a sushi guy), and so In I went for dinner at my local Red Lobster. I ordered the Admirals Platter and took a sip of my water. FIRST RED FLAG! It tasted....OFF. I asked my server who told me it was PROBABLY the water softener as it sometimes makes the water seem 'salty' or she said it COULD be from something to do with the dishwasher lines because "...sometimes when they are running the dishwasher it makes the drinking water taste funny." Ahhh...that's when I ordered a Pepsi Zero. Ok, moving on. My dinner salad came. It was fine. NOT OMG GREAT...but acceptable. Now for the main course. I remember the scallops being pretty decent in size but these where TINY, (...about the size of marbles) and they, as well as the, shrimp flounder, clam strips where all cooked to the point that the batter was almost burnt. The baked potato was average but acceptable. Nothing to write home about for sure. It was supposed to have butter and sour cream but all saw was a ton of sour cream. I'm a big pepper guy and they stick you with those serve yourself pepper grinders that give you MAYBE 1/4 Tsp of pepper if you twist the knob for for 20 minutes or until you've achieved FULL CARPLE TUNNEL. All in all, I could only choke down about half. I took the rest home but probably won't finish it. So there's $40 waisted. The only reason this place gets a 2 instead of a 1 is the friendly professional, attentive and honest staff. But, I'll NEVER set foot in here, or ANY OTHER Red Lobster again if this is the levels that they've sunk to. read more

Had an amazing experience at this location, our waiter Louis was beyond excellent! And the food was perfect

We ate there tonight. I had the fish fry. The fish was done correctly, hot, flaky and not chewy. Problem was it was swimming in oil! My French fries were cold, fish was hot. The Cole slaw was very good. The cheddar biscuits were gummy, like they were not quite done. My husband had butter shrimp, and it was swimming iin butter! He had broccoli for a side, it too was swimming in butter. He had a cup of clam chowder which he said was very good. Our waitress was very good and attentive. Over all a not so good meal. I don't think we will go back. Tex AZ Grill has a much better fish fry and it's not greasy. The restaurant was clean but very cold. read more

I know it's not McLormick & Swick (or that other place that RHYMES with that), but Red Lobster makes properly cooked seafood of really remarkable consistency and very decent quality for the price. Honestly just a super disappointing experience. We came for the seafood boils (literally the only reason we chose Red Lobster), and they handed us the menu with all that stuff... but didn't bother to mention they weren't serving any of it. No crab at all. The place smelled weird, and even though the restaurant was almost empty, they sat us right next to the only other loud table with toddlers. On a recent GNO with friends we came here for dinner. The service was great and there were no complaints as to that. My memories lead me to when Red Lobster was a big deal way back when. Unfortunately its glory days are behind them as rising prices make it outrageously expensive! Now paying high prices has become a thing I know, but shouldn't the quality of the food be great? After checking with others the reviews were "it's ok" and I can certainly attest to the quality. The cheddar biscuits are THE saving grace and the best. Just as I remembered! I was trying to keep expenses down bit little did I realize a bowl of New England clam chowder was 9.99 and my non alcoholic drink was 6.99! After staring in disbelief of my 18.00 bill I know I had made a mistake. And not to bring anyone down but I swear my soup was dumped from a Campbells can into my bowl. It was thin and tasteless and I really should have sent it back. My drink while not being alcoholic was the perfect blend and I probably just should have gotten that. The worst part? We hadn't been to Red Lobster in over 4 years and was pleasantly surprised with our experience. All of our food came out hot and fresh. The jumbo coconut shrimp appetizer was a hit! My pick two entree was so large that I had an entire meal leftover. The mashed potatoes & broccoli were seasoned very well. The best part I would say was the service and the biscuits. I'm pretty bummed because it had been almost two years since I had been to red lobster and I was truly looking forward to having a meal there. I was craving the raspberry lemonade, which came out overfilled with the raspberry mix so it was way too sweet and didn't taste the same. The Caesar salad had good flavor but it seemed like it had been made prior and so it was not as fresh. For our entree, we had the Cajun chicken linguine pasta, use to be my favorite go to. Right when it came out, the chicken looked odd, like it wasn't grilled or pan fried. The dish itself had little to no flavor which was upsetting. I started doing some research online when I got home wondering how the chicken was cooked based on the appearance and I'm concerned it could have been microwaved. I don't have proof of this because I of course wasn't in the kitchen while it was being prepared but there doesn't really seem to be any other explanation of the chicken. I remember the chicken to always be grilled with that particular dish but that was not the case tonight. I feel bummed. read more

this red lobster has had its issues in the past but now it is going through ownership change, staffing, food issues. everything is precooked or frozen and then microwaved or dipped in the fryer when ordered. the portions are good but price for frozen food is rediculous. well wine is $10, the food was $60 for fish & chips and fish, fries and veggies. the cheddar rolls had no cheddar tasre. the little hush puppies were just hard tasteless. when we got home all that food came out in the bathroom. must have been refrozen and then cooked later. i will get fast food next time. never again. read more

I feel all those Red Lobster commercials on TV are misleading. Lunch specials : shrimps are small; they don't tell you that you will be receiving a smaller shrimp. It still says large. Biscuits are much smaller. That is cost cutting but I'm glad they are still complementary. Lunch specials used to offer a soup as an option. They still do but soup is considered a PREMIUM OPTION now so you have to pay a surcharge to get the soup. The salad was ok size but lots of browning on the lettuce. So 2 people with one soda $40. I think that's too much for lunch. I feel that ads attract you and then you are let down in person. read more

I took my teen yesterday to this location because we were in the area. It is not our typical location to visit. I really liked the atmosphere and the HUGE and separated layout!! We sat by a window in a booth, which was the perfect spot as I love sunshine!! The interior is darker, as is at all Red Lobsters that I have been to, and I love it!! I love the dark wood and the character of the interior of the buildings!! The teen, of course, if you have seen any of my other Red Lobster reviews, went into a biscuit coma!! I can literally watch him transform from energetic to suddenly ready for a nap after consuming so many biscuits!! The biscuits were "the best ever" (really hot and crisp, yet moist) according to my teen as he ate 'em up!! LOL!! Our food was cooked to perfection!! Kudos to the chef! Our server was very pleasant, and she made a huge effort to be attentive!! As we left, I thought that it wasn't busy (I was facing more towards the back of the building). As we left, I was shocked to see the place was PACKED on a Wednesday at lunchtime!! The service was so perfect that I assumed that they were not busy!! It was a fun time with my teen!! He LOVES Red Lobster as much as I do!
