A solid 3, service was good. food is where the score drops. A prime Rib dip that had day old at least well done meat on it covered with Cheese and Mushrooms maybe to mask the old meat? The ambiance has been in need of a refresh for some time music is non existent, the room is way too bright and the old brown oak is just super outdated. Service was Non-Existent as we were seated by the Host our server never came to the table and we were seated next to a couple who was already eating. We moved to the bar area after telling the Host but the bartender was too busy counting his register to acknowledge us and the other waiter who I would have guessed to be our original waiter just stood around. Ordered dinner for "curbside pickup." Got to the restaurant and the curbside spots were not available. Finally found a place to park, but that meant I had to go into the restaurant to get my order. I specifically ordered curbside pickup because my back was hurting and standing is not my friend! Got to the to-go window and waited 15 min. and no one helped me. No place to sit and wait. i am so disappointed. i came here for my brother's birthday dinner, and when we walked in the door, it was empty and took 10 minutes to be seated. Just like others, we've been here thousands of times & never reviewed or checked in! Today we're shopping so we decided to swing into outback for some good food & HH deals since we're not that hungry. They've revamped their decor & menu a bit, they NO LONGER HAVE FOOD FOR HAPPY HOUR! This may be final HH visit? We did get the free blooming onion with a Yelp check in. Whew ! Our server was kind & friendly but sadly very inventive or overwhelmed. After recieving our blooming onion we didn't see him for about 15-20 minutes to take our order The Filet mignon (goto) "medium" was more like medium well & lacking flavor, the broccoli (usually hot & crisp) was hot & mushy. I had never been here before so we decided we wanted a casual dinner and landed on this place. We started with the blooming onion which was spectacular! Added a side of ranch and we scarfed it down. We also did a French onion soup. Was a solid FO soup. For my main course I did the ribeye with the garlic butter and a baked potato. I even added the garlic butter to my baked potato. I haven't had Outback in years so I was really excited to order tonight. I saw the Braised Beef Bonzer-Wich on the menu and decided on it immediately. What I received was something inedible. It was so dry and and solidified that when I turned the sandwich upside down, the beef didn't move. Not one bit. First time I have been here in a while, the service was good but the food was terrible. I ordered the steak and shrimp, the steak was very tough heavy pepper along with the shrimp, the chaser salad dressing was not very good also as that to was very heavy pepper. I do not recommend them for curb side pick up at all! They allow Door Dash drivers to park in curbside pick up parking spots leaving none for curbside customers. They didn't seem to care and said we are busy and there are spots out there...no there wasn't! Came here last night with my son for his Birthday. For a man who dines out immediately Outback should fire the manager on duty tge evening of 1/20/25. We were sat and maybe 10 minutes later the waiter asked for a drink order. We were ready to order but he told us he would be back. Like 15 minutes later my iced tea and my son's water showed up. Then he took my order. Brought my salad. Then food came up another guy brought it out. We both had ribeye and food was excellent but could not get server to come back. I wanted steak sauce and some butter for baked potato. Only about 30 people in the restaurant but I could at times see as many as three employees chatting in my view. Even paying the bill was a horrible experience. This is 100% the managers fault. Where were they to ensure the restaurant was running well. So in their defense the national championship game was on and they were all watching. If you don't want to work then close your restaurant. We ordered from Uber Eats, ordered 2 Victoria filet mignons and 1 classic prime rib 16 oz cut with bake potatoes and sides. Pretty happy with the prime rib dinner but the filet mignon I ordered was disappointingly dry . I had ordered it medium the other was cooked well also. I forgot about all the irritating stereotypical Australian puns from the menu and decor but I got over it. Server was really sweet and attentive. Soooooo we didn't go there to be healthy back then and we weren't going start on this visit let's stick to the classics. I guess we did make an adjustment.....back when we could eat anything we wanted we would get the blooming onion AND the cheese fries! This visit we only started with the cheese fries with its gooey deliciousness, topped with crisp bacon bits and if that wasn't unhealthy enough dip them in cold ranch dressing......amazing! ENTREE it was a grilled chicken breast topped with mushrooms, more bacon jack and cheddar cheese with a delicious mustard dressing that had a great flavor. It seems like a cheap, thin steak. The only redeeming thing was the mild wings- they were flavorful and so was the blue cheese dressing. We were sorely disappointed in our meal- spending almost $100 on a less-than-mediocre meal. My friend had a surgery scheduled for Monday the 29th so on Sunday 8/28/22 @ 2:40PM we decided to go for lunch to send her on her way. Very Bad Idea This is the Cactus in Paradise Valley Outback Steakhouse. I will never return. The restaurant was not busy so we were seated immediately. The waitress took our order pleasantly and then things went horribly wrong. I was delivered a 6 oz sirloin that was well done, not med well, crusty tepid old mashed potatoes that appeared to have been sitting out, & mushy broccoli unfortunately, our waitress never returned to our table so i could not request side dishes that were edible. i just left them on my plate. At the time the server dropped our order, we requested another order of the warm bread. It never showed up. Our waitress finally came back to our table to give us our bill, i explained about the side dishes and got no response! My suggestion would be try another steak franchise. read more

The best thing that I can say about Outback Steakhouse is how consistent it has remained over the years. From the "g'day" Australian hospitality to the big portions of food, Outback has never wavered from their brand. I really like this location a lot! The employees are very friendly and this one has a neighborhood feel. I know that Outback is part of a big chain, but what matters is the quality of the employees and this one gets it right! I have read some of the other Yelp reviews where people are griping about small mistakes or problems. I think people forget about all the challenges that the restaurant industry has faced over the past two years. Everyone makes mistakes and it is all about trying their hardest. On my most recent visit, I tried the Bloomin' Onion. It continues to be the best way to have onion rings. What I really like is how Outback's version seems less greasy. I wouldn't call it healthy, but it does seem like you're getting the taste without a ton of oil. The dipping sauce is also what makes it so good. I am not sure what the ingredients are but it tastes wonderful. For my steak, I had the Espresso Butter Porterhouse. Yes, coffee butter! It helped me wake up. This was a special menu item but I do hope that they will bring it back. The porterhouse was a nice cut of meat and perfectly prepared to my request of medium-rare. You don't need sauces with this kind of flavor. The mac and cheese and asparagus were also the perfect sides! I tried the Smoked Cinnamon Pecan Old Fashioned. It was good, but for my second drink, I ordered just a regular Old Fashioned which I preferred. I'm not such a big fan of seasonal cocktails, to be honest. We did not have to wait long for a table and all the food came out quite fast, even though they were busy. We only had to ask once for a refill on our water but the rest of the time everyone took great care of us. You leave feeling like you really got your money's worth. I was impressed to see how much Outback has expanded its menu. They offer a lot now for people beyond steak or with special health concerns. The atmosphere at this location is nice. Our server was really frazzled and it showed up in the service. When we were seated it took 15 min for Simone to come by for our order, which then took about 25 min to get our food then the food which we shared was cold and the lobster tail looked about as big as a largish prawn, see picture... lol it was kind of dainty and cute, but also annoying.
