Wow! Everything we had was amazing! The steaks were perfectly done and super tender, the salad was crisp and cold, the grilled asparagus was great also. Will be back. When I review national chains I rate them as they compare to there other locations. This Outback was among the best of the Outbacks I've been to in my travels nationally. Food was prepared and cooked perfectly. The staff was courteous and attentive and the restaraunt was very clean and we'll maintained. Ordered Steak and Prime Rib to go, both were beyond raw!! Looks like they had been thrown on the grill just long enough to make you think it was cooked.. Order was for medium rare and medium... We like our meat but not while it's still talking to us. Staff spent a lot talking around what they could do for us. Finally gave us our money back. I am torn here since the food was great but the service wasn't. Food: The coconut shrimp appetizer was exactly what I wanted. The shrimp were quite hot and the coating was lightly crisp and full of flavor. The dipping sauce on the other hand... we have no idea what it was. Maybe a mango jelly of sorts, but we couldn't place the taste. My steak came out just right and the bakes sweet potato was a hit (as my wife kept stealing it. Tax she says). She got a crab stack with chips that she enjoyed, but the chips themselves were way too brittle and you couldn't really use them to scoop and eat like intended. Service: It was quite hard to flag down our server when we were ready to order drinks or food, where other tables got prompt service. We never got our bread, which really disappointed my wife. The bill was wrong too and had an extra appetizer charge. I don't even remember how many servers we had. One took drink orders, one took food order, one checked up on us, and one did the bill. Must have been one heck of a rotating shift and I wonder if that was why the bill was wrong and we never got bread since one server probably thought the others would do it. Overall, my only problems were service related. Since the food was great, I think we would probably come back sometime. Maybe in a different section to see if our luck changes. read more

We had hoped it would be the Outback we used to look forward to, but for the second time we were disappointed. Once again we let the server know our food wasn't cooked all the way or good, and once again the server did nothing to fix the situation. So, the food was bad, and the servers clearly aren't trained in good customer service or customer retention. Money would have been better spent somewhere else. read more

Was here on 3/21 The food and service were great, with the exception of the Caesar side salad. It had a strange smell, I was able to eat 5-6 bites and the odd taste made me have to stop. I had the waitress take it away as the smell was making me sick. The rest of the meal was perfect. But the following day I ended up in the ER with nausea, vomiting, diarrhea and severe abdominal pain. Turns out I had bacterial Enterocolitis, most common cause : contaminated food! 3 days later and I'm still sick. Pretty sure the salad was the culprit. read more

We usually have pretty good luck here. The food is always good and the prices are decent. On our last visit, I had the 8 ounce filet with garlic mashed potato's and we also had one of the new features,the hanger steak with asparagus ($1.00 upgrade). The salads were good, and of course you start the dinner with a small loaf of bread at the table which is still a nice touch. My filet was pretty decent and cooked to order. The hanger steak was ok too, and for the price (under $15) was a pretty good deal when you consider it comes with a side and salad. Good service and we were seated quickly. We will be back. Each time being assured they would bring it out. After an hour, I moved the car, then they checked my order and brought it out. The food was delivered to the car an hour late. Guess what? Have always loved Outback and getting a Blooming Onion but this location is not worth the money. We were greeted nicely, and five different servers asked if there was anything we needed. Our Party Ordered two steaks, both medium rare, one was burnt while the other was still completely cold. When asked we sent back the steak for it to only be charred and inedible. The side salads where a few pieces of lettuce on a plate with no dressing and little extras. Trying to get condiments from the staff was like pulling teeth and we needed them because the ribs and chicken were as dry as a desert. Overall, the bill was not worth the horrible food and service. If we had know ahead of the dining experience we would have, I would have stopped the car at a gas station. I love Outback but will never go to the Sioux Falls location ever again. Legitimately some of the worst service I've had. After ordering, she informed us she wouldn't be serving us anymore. We never got another server and had to find people to get ketchup for a burger, our check, to go boxes, etc. She delivered the check after a long wait and said she didn't realize we were still her table. Food had good flavor, it was just lukewarm when we finally got it. Overall, will not go back to this location. read more

Don't not allow Allen at the bar serve you. I watched him drop food on the floor and continue to serve the product. This was after I witnessed him make a drink and realize the glass was dirty so he put his fingers into the drink to clean the foreign matter from the glass. Should've known better. First of all - you're a steakhouse - have a decent wine list. Jacob's Creek is not decent. And, when you serve red wine, make sure it's not hot. Red wine needs to be served around 56-58 degrees - not 72. Ate at the bar. Ordered sirloin med rare - came out maybe a little more rare than that...not that big of a deal. Sweet potato was luke warm at best - butter wasn't melting on it if that tells you anything. I was about 80% done with my meal when someone finally asked me how the meal was - a little late. I love Outback! You are one of the best places to eat in this town. Your management is top-notch and the menu is amazing. When people from out of town come to visit, it's one of the places I usually recommend. But that may be changing. I'm not sure if it was an off night, or if something has changed there recently, but I was in for supper on Sunday around 7pm. The host seemed overwhelmed despite only having my party of 2, and a another group of about 5-6 that walked in before us. After we repeated that there was only 2 of use, 4 times, he finally decided to seat us. His first seat option was right next to a table of 4, with a newborn, that couldn't be more than 3 weeks old. When I told him this was not acceptable, he seemed even more confused and then seated us just outside the bar area, opposite the diver from another table with a child that was clearly NOT HAPPY. We were then greeted by our 'team of servers' two young men, one of which claimed he was training (who I'll call Pushy), the other of which looked like he would rather be ANYWHERE but working (I'll call him Apathy). We ordered our beverages, and Apathy walked off, and after a brief pause, Pushy launched into a spiel about specials and drink menu. I normally like hearing about these, but it was delivered with such a monotone rote that I would have rather had a piece of paper handed to me than hear this. Our beverages came, and Apathy again wandered off without comment, and Pushy suggested several appetizers, which we declined. He took 3 steps away, and came back, almost as an after thought, and asked us if we wanted 'table bread'. A short while later, they came back for our order. We ordered as usual, with an acknowledging grunt from Apathy, and after our order was complete, several questions that we had already answered (doneness, sides, etc) from Pushy. the food arrived, my drink had been empty for several minutes. no comment was made when teh food was delivered either about food or drinks, but a refill did magically appear in Apathy's hand a minute later. THE FOOD WAS AWESOME! It was the one sole redeeming factor in this experience. Not once did I see or hear a manager, which is unusual, as every other time I have been there I see them more than our server (kidding, but it's a good thing to think!). We were clearly finished with our food, my partner having a completely clear plate, and me with an untouched half ready for a take-out box, for over 10 minutes before we saw the dynamic duo again. This time Apathy cleared our plates, while Pushy launched into a roll call of the desert options, after we declined, he then suggested an already listed desert again to tempt us (There's a reason I call him Pushy!). I like outback general but this is not the best. My husbands steak was fantastic. Mine was eh at best and my sons salmon was overdone. My bigger problems: service, gross ladies room with water all over the floor, one of the chairs at our table was broken and the leaf on our table was broken. So your plate either was on an angle like to slide onto your lap or had had to sit on your knees. But the bloomin' onion was perfect! read more

Visited this Outback on a Sunday afternoon. We were practically the only customers and were seated right away. Every staff member that we came into contact with was extremely friendly and seemed happy to be there. We did hear an employee in the back speaking to a coworker that dropped an F-bomb. It didn't bother us, but might bother someone with more sensitive ears or children. There is a large selection of liquors and 7 beers on tap, but as we were traveling, we did not indulge in any alcohol that day. The inside decor is very nice and makes you feel as though you are at an expensive place, while the prices are very decent. Our waitress came over to us right away and brought waters and let us know she was there for any questions, etc. We quickly decided what we wanted and placed our order. I ordered a soda, which I never received, and as I write this review, I am realizing that I totally forgot to check if we were charged for it. Our waitress brought warm bread to the table with a tub of delicious butter, which I quickly scarfed down. Hey, I was technically still on vacation, where calories don't count. My meal came with a side salad, which was disappointing, as there were quite a few pieces of lettuce that had started to turn brown. I picked through it and was able to eat some of it, but it just wasn't very flavorful. The rest of our food was good, but my husband's fries didn't come out until 5 minutes after the rest of the food, and they were undercooked. The manager who brought them out, although very friendly, offered no apology. I would probably not visit this establishment again. It wasn't bad, just didn't "wow" me. Went on a Friday night and was able to get a table for 2 right away at 6. The server came over right away for our drink order and brought bread and butter. Ordered the salmon and veggies and the food was delicious and hot. Missed the mashed potatoes when the meal came out but our server brought them out within 2 minutes. The food took quite awhile to arrive. Our server was attentive and checked on us often. The cheese fries appetizer we ordered came out quickly and were typical in being a little greasy and not what I normally would have, just my preference on that.
