Great new remodel and the food is now better than ever. They have updated their ingredients and it's much tastier. The fries were cooked perfectly, I remember them usually being a little soggy. First night open on our quarantine end and we had inside seating way more spaced out than I ever thought. There was a short wait as we went primetime Friday night. Everyone was masked up but very delightful Staff. Food was excellent top notch. Of course we got extra bread! Drinks were excellent. We were pleasantly surprised on first night of inside dining in over two months and they didn't miss a beat! This may sound stupid but it was almost worth the 2 1/2 month wait to realize how really excellent outback staff and food really is. It was really a good walk about Friday evening. My husband and I went in for the soup and salad lunch. We both got the caesar salad and potato soup. The soup came out luke warm and the lettuce was literally brown. We had the soup reheated and it was fine. But there was no fixing that brown lettuce. That should've never been served period. It was horrible. It wasn't just a simple piece or two it was almost the entire thing and it even tasted bad. What ever happened to quality control? Just disappointed. From the get go, I knew it was a mistake stepping into this place. The host greeted us but took about 5-10 minutes to sit us. He said he was going to clean off a table and it took longer than I imagined for him to finish. Once we got to the table it was still really wet and the menus were damp for some reason and there were still crumbs, so for the amount of time he spent cleaning the table, it should've been spotless! On top of that, it also took a while for the waiter to come greet us. I got the Aussie 4-course which comes with a soup, salad, entree and dessert. Overall the food was like a 3.5 and the deal was a steal, but the service was so ugh!! At the end of the day at any restaurant, the food can be 6 out of 5 stars but if the service stank, it'll ruin the whole experience!! The waiter also kept forgetting stuff and didn't seem efficient, but maybe he was new because he looked young and nervous. The manager also stopped by to ask about our experience, which we said could've been better. I felt like she brushed our comments off like "it is what it is." People need to be receptive to change! How else will there be improvement? Sigh. This ain't my first time at outback but it'll probably be my last. read more

I like this location. Its right by applebees and texas roadhouse but never as horribly overcrowded as them. The servers are always lovely and funny. Food is promptly served. The bread is yum. Unlike many chain restaurants they are able to assist you with special dietary needs ie low sodium. They regularly have tasty specials at good rates! read more

This place has the best managerial service! I ordered my usual wings and they just weren't up to par. They were bland and not crispy but edible. I didn't make a fuss. Next thing I know the manager comes out, apologized and took the wings off my bill without me asking. This is not the first time I've had the manager come and take care of a minor problem with such speed and stellar service. That's why I keep coming back. Occasional very minor problems with the food or wait staff, but the management always takes ownership and makes it right. I'll keep bringing my business here, always. read more

It's an awful lunch today: This Outback couldn't handle a crowd. There was a party of 20+ today which ,of course, cause delay but I've seen bigger crowds in Texas Roadhouse and haven't seen this chaos. Anyways, we were finally seated - - We already had our orders set while waiting so we got our order in right away. We ordered one bloomin onion but told our server to put all our orders in and not just the appetizer. The good things: the bloomin onion was indeed good (my 1st time), well seasoned and crunchy and they served the kids' meals quickly. The bad side: The server obviously did not put the order in since it took another half an hour to get the entrees. My friend's steak was overcooked. My cobb salad was not cobb at all - they just added chicken to the side salad. The fish on the mixed grill was tiny and nowhere near the size shown in the picture and indicated in the menu. What is the deal with this steakhouse not knowing the temp of the meat? We ate here a month ago and I ordered medium which also came well done. They lost two families as customers today. We are not planning to come back. At least, not in the near future. read more

Slow service & good food! Had coconut shrimp, ribeye & baked potato. A little hard to find because of the construction. Our waiter seemed to be preoccupied when it came to bringing us our check. Walked in, had to wait about 5 minutes for the hostess to even come to the front to have us seated. We requested a booth since there was hardly anyone in the place, but the hostess said it would be a longer wait yet there were a ton of empty booths (all clean and ready to be used). Didn't quite understand that. Our waiter was very nice, but not a very good server at all. My burger came without the side of fries which he said would be right out, but never came. I had to remind him when he finally came back to our table when we were already finished eating. So I asked for a to-go box and some more bread to take with us. He said ok and brought our to-go box and two small drinks to go instead of the bread we asked for. Overall, poor service and the food wasn't that great. Won't be going back. read more

Was here for a NASA visit to the area and usually stay in NOLA...but needed up in Slidell at hotel and digitally we brought in chose the Outback. Now, I don't have anything against Outback and used to eat a lot back in the day, BUT - with all the good food in NOLA I was a bit bummed.... BUT -- this place did a great, greta job taking care of our group and special guest. Manager came by often to make sure we were being treated well. She comped us a blooming Onion! And best of all -- my steak was perfect and tremendous NY Strip. Everyone left here very happy and with a new impression of Outback. Enjoyed it and will come back again! read more

Our party of 5 came on Christmas Eve. We had a reservation for 7:00, but did not get seated until 7:45. We asked for a table and got a booth. We were seated 10 minutes before they took our drink order. They were out of ice and glasses, so we got room temperature drinks in styrofoam cups. After we placed our order, the server told us they are out of baked potatoes, so we substituted for mashed potatoes. However, we were later informed that they were also out of mashed potatoes. We waited over an hour before we got our food. My steak came out without either of my two sides. The general manger wouldn't come out of the kitchen to talk with us and our server awkwardly laughed every time he told us bad news. Ok, should have known better than going here after 7 on a Friday night but we were hungry and it wasn't a far drive from home in picayune. We settle at sitting at the bar after being told there was a 45 minute wait and that was fine. We did get a free coconut shrimp after mentioning outback bowl which were delish. After that we ordered dinner of one ribeye medium and 2 Victoria's filets(one 6 and one 8 oz), both med rare. I didn't know that they changed the menu and took off the horseradish crumb crust(one of the best parts of the menu setting it apart from Texas Roadhouse and Longhorn) and asked if they had it. The bartender said he would check. The steaks came out and the ribeye was somewhere between rare and med rare. No big deal. The 'filet' that I ordered looked like a thick cut of meat except when I cut into it, it was rare and very tough to cut in to and had nothing horseradish on it at all. When I asked, the bartender left and said he would check like he forget to ask in the first place. He came back saying it wasn't available but that he had some kind of horseradish sauce I could try. After sending them back to get cooked more, the manager brings out the ribeye and stands there while we are cutting into it. It was fine. The 'filet' comes back and after sawing into it, the color was fine. I struggled to cut another piece and tried to eat the rubber that was on the plate. I asked my dad to cut into the 'filet' and he was also stunned. The other bartender seeing us struggling came and asked if everything was ok. I mentioned that it was a very tough 'filet' and our bartender come out of the background to say that he heard me say sirloin. Who would order a med rare sirloin and if you would I applaud you since that was like sawing rubber and chewing a shoe. Well after this is realized, they throw away the sirloin and I wasn't even sure if I could eat another steak. They placed the order for the filet and it came out after everyone had finished eating making it awkward to sit there and eat. I ate the steak only and we asked for our check. No one came over to see if we were ok or nothing after that point and our check was corrected and the new filet was added instead of the sirloin. I surprised at how the whole ordeal was handled and not even that the manager came back to see how we were doing towards the end. The bartender originally waiting on us didn't return again after the ordeal and we were pretty sure he was hiding in the back. Disappointing experience! read more

This is for the Slidell restaurant...we walked in and there was a crowd at the hostess station. Waited for about 10 minutes before someone came and said she was busy clearing tables and would be right with us. 15 minutes later she showed back and said same thing. 10 more minutes and she led someone to his table. I won't go into how many more times she did this but eventually she told me and my party to sit at the bar and she would get us when ready...45 minutes of waiting so far. While waiting at the bar we have clear site to hostess station...more parties arrived and we're seated immediately. I finished my wine and we left. This has been the worst service I have ever received at an Outback ... I will think twice before going to this f-up establishment again. read more

Traveling cross-country. Stopped in Slidell for the night. Ordering on line was quick and easy. Very friendly, helpful service at pickup. Once back at hotel, I found that the vegetable side that I ordered and paid for was missing. Ribeye was cooked to order but quite a bit of fat and grizzle. Rest ok. Pretty hit and miss at prices that make you expect better. Disappointing. read more

I will NEVER go back!!! Live in slidell and have been here many times. It gets worse each time. The staff at the front door were a little rude in my opinion, like they were doing us a favor by seating us. Were not greeted when we walked in and they were not that busy. My husband and I went there for my birthday. Although our waitress was nice...she came and sat at our table to take our order...I didn't expect that. I got the beef tips and they were so tuff I could barely chew them. My husband got a ribeye and he said we could cook that better at home. The steamed veggies were good. Our server Christian was great but that was the only thing great about this place. The food was overcooked and came out very quickly, the onion bloom was very greasy and almost burnt, the baked potato was dry and towards the end we saw small bugs flying around. Very disappointing. Bread was stale, did not get a lot of sauce for our Blooming Onion, and our entrees were terrible. I ordered a Grilled Shrimp Caesar salad, and I got an over-seasoned shrimp salad drowning in dressing. My fiancé ordered a sirloin steak with fries. He ordered his steak medium, and he got his steak and it was rare. Also the amount of fries he got was a joke. I rated this restaurant two stars because when we complained to our waitress she gave almost all of our money back.I think this was the last time we will ever visit this location. read more

We waited almost 10 minutes to see our server another 20 minutes to get our appetizer (which you could tell had been sitting a minute) then another 20 minutes for our food. The restaurant was very clean kinda cold but felt good bc it's over 100 outside. Our drinks were the castaway cocktail and du mule and definitely refreshing. Ordered to go which we do all the time but tonight the food I got was ridiculous! I got three stalks of asparagus ( it's an up charge too) I got 2 and a half, half of a legs of crab which was a 9.99 up charge. The Ahi tuna was completely done! This Outback has gone down hill. We use to eat here (family of five) twice a month. Four out of five of us typically get a ribeye meal. Looks like we will have to go somewhere else! So disappointing!! read more
