On Veterans Day 2025 @1600, I went to Outback in Stafford VA just outside Quantico - the lobby was full of diners waiting and bar was nearly full but I found 2 open bar seats and sat down. Within a few minutes the bartender asked if I wanted a regular menu or special veterans menu - I got the veterans menu and had a great 3 course meal with a salad and unlimited beverage refills. I could have had a 6oz. steak but I selected the burger and it was so big I could barely take a bite. I skipped desert as I had no room, and she offered it to take away. Not very thrilled with this location. Yes, I was seated with no wait on a busy evening. My drink came out in a reasonable amount of time. First, my bloomin onion appetizer was burnt in some spots, raw in others. Then, my 8 oz. Sirloin took 30 minutes to come out after my salad. When it finally did arrive, it was rare, when I had ordered well done. It took 10 minutes to find my server to send it back to cook properly. It came back 10 minutes later, and was still not done (I ordered it well done). After the 2nd send back, it came out cooked right. I think next time I crave a steak, I'll head for Logan's. Came in for a Sunday lunch. Place was pretty busy but hardly any wait for a party of five. Waiter was on POINT! Drinks were kept full (including the kids), we were offered fresh bread (also kept plentiful) and were given just the right amount of time in between offerings of service. Ok. First of all, I'm not the biggest fan of chain restaurants. Y'know, crowds, lines, mediocre food but filling. When I dine out, I have a mental checklist in my head that tabulates unconsciously in my head my expectations and compares it to the actuality around me and then, later on, out pops the review. That being said. I had a very good experience at this location. The decor says chain. However, the atmosphere/ambiance vibe said, "Relax, sit back and watch us work this!" And everything WAS taken care of from the time my friend and I came through the door. When we walked in, Ms. Ariana held the door open for us, welcomed us to Ouback, and ushered us to the hostess station. What impressed me was that she sincerely and seamingly meant it. Y'all know what I mean. Usually, these "greeters" at these chains give you a lukewarm bland greeting and don't care whether you came or not. Just come in and spend your money. So thank you, Ms. Ariana. The Hostess with the "Mostest" was a Ms. Atyanna. She also extended a heartfelt welcome to Outback's vibe, and we were seated before we knew it. Very pleasantly, Bubbly. Thank you, Ms. Atyanna. Now to the main event. Daniel was the name of our waiter. He was attentive without being annoying, and his knowledge of the menu was epic, concise, anticipatory... all in all, a great waiter. Thank you, Daniel. Outback's food is decent. I suggest if you have a cocktail to get a shot added or have a stern talk with the bartender on duty. I have no problems with the food. There is plenty, and it is prepared well at this location. There's not a lot of affordable options for a night out in Stafford without blowing my budget. We've started going to Outback more lately. We're not chain restaurant people, but our options for steak in Stafford are limited. I'll say this place has been a good place for a standard fare, nothing fancy but not bad either. Food was great the last several visits. This has been a go-to for basic steaks. While not fancy, I've enjoyed that the steaks have been consistent. They've been cooked as ordered, and the quality for the price is on par. Drinks also for the $7. have been good also. Service has been good lately. Our servers always look like they're having a difficult time but stay positive. Zack L was our server tonight, and while he was a bit rushed, he was attentive and did a good job ensuring we were taken care of. Also, shout out to the two hostesses tonight (29 July), both were very friendly welcoming and did an amazing job accommodating our requests for a specific table. If you've never been to an Outback, don't expect a romantic atmosphere, however it's also not horribly decorated either. Overall, understand this is a chain restaurant and tailor your expectations accordingly. I'll say we've had positive experiences with this location lately vs the past, and the food has met our expectations. Minus a few hiccups each visit, with the good food and positive service, I'll give this place a thumbs up. read more

My filet was overcooked (not a drop of meat juice on my plate) & the meat lacked ANY pink & was cold. The broccoli was limp from overcooking. We were out for our Anniversary. The food took a long time to get to the table (almost an hour) but was hot and good. It was a Saturday evening so we expected a wait but instead of us just sitting there maybe an update would make it less frustrating. "Hey guys sorry for the wait, everything will be out soon. Can I get you another drink or some more bread?" Instead we were watching to see if people who came in after us got food to see if maybe we were forgotten. I enjoyed it ..... flavorful. They didn't bring the condiments I requested but Chris our waiter was hustling and very nice. My friend had the French onion soup and fried shrimp. Terrible meal. Ordered pick up last night (7/25/2022). One positive, I arrived early and the order was ready early. I had ordered a Bone-in Ribeye cooked rare and added mushrooms, side salad, and an everything baked potato. The steak was not rare, it was half raw. It was only cooked on the top side, flipped it over and it didn't look like the bottom of the steak had even touched the grill. The outside of the steak should at least be seared on both sides. The potato was hard and cool. All of the toppings were also cold and in separate containers. the butter wouldn't even soften. The salad was wet and the dressing was watery. I have never had watery blue cheese dressing at a steakhouse. The roll and whipped butter was very good. Sadly this was the only part of my meal that I enjoyed. read more

I had a GREAT experience here a week ago. I was a little early and went in and just kind of hung around the host stand. The host was a great younger guy that was very friendly. He took the time to talk to me about the menu and what he has had on the menu. He told me to the wood fired bone in ribeye. This was one of the more expensive meals on the menu but I thought I should try! The server came to the table and also expressed his love for the bone in ribeye. So this sealed the deal. After a brief wait I got my steak and It was AWESOME. I had mashed potatoes for the side and I can tell you that I left stuffed! Really great meal. The only criticism I have of the experience was that I requested medium and got medium rare. But it was still really good. The host guy said he would be working up to server and then bartender as soon as possible. He was friendly and helpful so I hope his wishes become a reality too I had to update this review and knock it to the 4 star. The manager just randomly decided he won't offer Heinz 57. That's the only steak sauce I use and was told the manager just did his own thing and go rid of it. Very upsett Had to update again, they brought back Heinz 57! read more

Our group of 15 made a reservation for a birthday dinner on 12/28/23 thru managers Allen and Trey. They got everything right which I mention bec so much these days is either mediocre or totally messed up wherever you go. Brendon was our primary server altho I didn't get the associate server's name. They were both outstanding and provided excellent, accurate and smooth service. And our group ordered a big variety of food and drink, all served correctly. Outback is a classic place to go for good food. The service is either on par or slow. The food is pretty good. We typically get the bloomin onion as an appetizer when we go. It's delicious: a giant fried onion with a good sauce in the middle. The brown appetizer bread you get when you sit down is amazing. It's always nice and warm and soft when you cut into it. Outback is a good at a range of things from their steaks to shrimp to mac and cheese and desserts. The "thunder from down under" is a warm brownie with vanilla ice cream and chocolate drizzle. The outback is down and out now! Everything was just terrible from the steak to the coconut shrimp. The filet and sirloin had the texture as if it was pieced together! Terrible and overcooked. The sweet potato came with no cinnamon and sugar. The Mac n cheese came out as plain noodles with no cheese. The sprite tasted like carbonated water with a hint of lemon lime. The service was also terrible as we asked for silverware and received plastic to go utensils. The servers were ALL RUDE and we felt like we were an INCONVENIENCE the entire time we were dining. Well, I wish I would've checked this review before I went here. It's a chain I would think consistency customer service is a given. This is why folks go up north sometimes for better experiences. So this climate is not the one to go to an older couple consistently before another party (my 19yr old daughter and me), when we've made a connection with you and went out of our way to be overly nice and tell you it was my birthday, I'm not being overly sensitive, picky, difficult or was ever rude or disrespectful but your behavior was. Taking someone else's order, giving them their drinks first and spending an exorbitant amount of time with one particular table over anyone else's in your very small area is coincidental but when it occurs on more than the occasions it's a choice. We stayed for appetizers then left and you only checked on us to order when I'd already noticed the connections and the off putting vibe. I'm tan bit that doesn't mean broke sweetie. The only color that should matter is green. Never again outback. Wow. And yep, Devon and the couple were Caucasian. It really doesn't matter but then again, it does. My daughter and I said maybe 10 words total unfortunately since I was trying to not overthink and then keep it together in front of my kid. The first time we were there I ordered a glass of wine from the menu. When the bill came, I saw I'd been charged $3.00 more than the listed price. I asked to see the menu to confirm. I was correct. Above the wine list, there was a box that said you could get an "Aussie Pour" for $3.00 more. I hadn't seen that, and didn't order it. The waiter took it off the menu. I'd only finished 2/3 of the glass and didn't finish the rest. We went back last night. This time, made the point of saying "regular size" when I ordered the wine. Again, the glass looked pretty big. The waitress didn't bring the wine until I reminded her half way through the meal, so I hoped maybe she'd just comped a larger glass. Nope. The large glass was on the bill. This time I'd only drank about half the glass (because it came half way through the meal). She brought out a corrected bill. We gave her a $100 bill. She brought back a tip tray with the wrong bill and all of the $100, but in smaller bills. I have no idea what she was thinking. Several other minor screw ups with the order. When the app says your meal will be delivered between 531-541, only to receive a text about that time to tell you it will arrive between 548-558, for it to arrive at 612... that's frustrating! Then, the meal shows up with errors (wrong burger completely)... even more frustrating, and to pay almost $100... to be honest, the only reason we ordered from you was because I had a gift card. It is hard times right now, our family is home due to the virus, but you have got to step up your game and try to be a little more focused on details. We never got to order. Host sat US and other couples after us. The waitress took orders from couples in front and behind us who arrived after us. I asked the host if someone could take our order and sat back down. The host went and talked to the waitress and they both walked to the rear of the restaurant. We waited a bit longer and host started greeting other customers. We told the host we still did not see a waiter/waitress and were going to leave. He said ok and my wife asked to see the manager. He went back to get the manager who came out and apologized and asked if she could make it up to us. We declined because we had no idea who would handle our food at that point and left the facility.
