We have been coming to this location for years and have always spoken highly of both the food and the service. Unfortunately, today's visit was very disappointing. I had to send my steak back because it was overly seasoned, which is something I specifically asked my waitress since we had experienced this before. Our server also never refilled our drinks and did not clear any of the plates from our table throughout the meal. What was most disappointing, however, was overhearing a group of servers openly discussing issues with the restaurant, including promises they felt had not been kept and concerns about their tips for the day. The conversation was loud enough that guests could easily hear it, and it felt as though they were unaware that customers were sitting nearby. It is sad because this is the first negative experience we have had in four years of visiting this location. We sincerely hope this was an isolated incident, but it has certainly made us reconsider whether we will return in the future. read more

Outback is a good solid choice to go for takeout on a nice night in for something different and decent. Twice I've been here for takeout, and they're always friendly upon my arrival and greeting me immediately. The parking lot is nice and organized when I pull up to get my order put in. The wait is not very long at all. Thus far, I've gotten a nice Shrimp on the babie dinner along with steakhouse mac cheese and a side of asparagus to make a little healthier. I really do enjoy the Shrimp on the barbie that comes sitting atop a piece of toasted garlic bread. Everything came out nicely packed in it's containers and wrapped in aluminum to keep separate. The shrimp was filling and had a lot of flavor from the butter I pour over top of it. The asparagus was fresh and crisp. Now the steakhhouse mac is always a good choice because it's thick, rich, and creamy with great flavor that has a slight kick to it so it's something a little different. I also really love the coconut shrimp, which I didn't get this time around, but i'll be sure to go for it next time! read more

We ate here last year for daughter's birthday as it is a middle location to family and friends. We had such a great experience that we returned for this birthday. Same great experience. Nicholas, our server, was like having our own personal butler. That's how much detail he put into our experience. Attentive, kind, and funny. He made sure we did not want for a thing. The manager appeared several times to see that everything was going well. The steaks were delicious. The place is clean and not as crazy as some Outback's with background noise. Restaurants let's talk! In the past month, I've become a regular at this restaurant, visiting three times. My first visit was a farewell feast of steak and lobster before I embarked on a vegetarian or flexitarian journey. I have a lemon allergy, so when a lemon appeared on my lobster, I raised the alarm. No worries, they whisked it away, promising a fix. I then turned my attention to the steak, which had morphed into a well-done hockey puck. I hesitated to complain, but the server noticed and sent both dishes back. The steak returned looking divine, but the lobster was a mystery--partially raw. I decided not to make a scene, settled the bill, and we made our exit. The second visit was smooth sailing. The service is consistently top-notch, with bartenders and waitresses who are as delightful as they are efficient, which is why I keep returning. Today, craving some protein, I ordered the salmon with broccoli and a salad--a sensible choice, right? The salad arrived with a surprise guest: a head of lettuce stalk. I navigated around it, as it wasn't harmful. Then came the hot food. The broccoli was brown, which I can handle, but beneath it lay a mushy, unappetizing mess. I decided to skip the broccoli. As for the salmon, it was a culinary enigma--undercooked. Perhaps that's an Outback signature, but it wasn't for me. I refrained from sending it back, paid my bill, and even tipped my gracious server. This tale illustrates why dining out can be a gamble. Outback's front-of-house is fantastic, but the kitchen might need a little seasoning. read more

My husband and I visited the Outback in Brandon, FL March 2026. We both ordered filet mignon and lobster. The steak was tough. The onion petals were cold, and the rice was either undercooked or leftovers from yesterday. So disappointed! We paid $100 for two failed meals. We won't be returning! :( read more

Went to Outback for lunch today. Was going to order Prime Rib, but it was not ready yet (1:00pm). So ordered a side Caesar salad, and the Bloomin Shrimp appetizer. I always enjoy the Caesars here.. simple but good. The Blooming Shrimp app was a full meal... almost more shrimp than I could finish. I love the bloom sauce also... so I was happy! Can I say, we've fallen in love with Outback again? Years ago, the Outback chain was our go-to for a date night... but we seemed to tire of it. The steak was consistent, but the service, decor, and all grew "tired", and there's just so many options these days. We got a gift-card and decided to use it for our date night last night, and I'm so glad we did -- that one meal and experience has elevated our opinions of the brand again. We literally kept commenting to each other about things the whole meal -- the service (Maggie was AMAZING!), the atmosphere, the food... it all seemed refreshed. My wife even summed it up perfectly to Maggie, "There was no depression," meaning that all we heard were happy conversations, laughter, people getting sung to for birthdays (four times!!! People are choosing Outback for special occasions again!). On the way, we were talking about how the last couple times we'd been, it was barely busy -- but we still used the reservation option on the app. Glad we did, it was hopping when we got there (7:30pm on a Friday). I was expecting a "tired" experience, but it really was anything but. After talking with our server, she explained the brand overhaul and we can see how every change has elevated the experience. The wait staff worked so seamlessly together, and were so positive with us. The pace of our food coming out was perfect, too -- starting with how we got the bread from another server as Maggie was taking our orders, not after (nice touch). I expected that the steaks would arrive as we were eating our salad, but they didn't, and even though it was busy, we weren't being rushed. I actually said to my wife it felt like Chick Fil A came in and trained the team in friendliness and their desire to serve -- iykyk. There were maybe 5 different staff who served or engaged with us through the night, including the manager checking in on us. That's impressive for a chain steak house. We love the new look to the room, things are bright while still reminding you it's a steak house. The decor was a mix of Australia and local Florida, and the music was loud enough to hear, but not overpowering our conversations. We just heard "Joy" everywhere, which was nice! The food has been elevated. Steaks are always consistent at Outback (I got the classic sirloin and my wife got a ribeye, both cooked to perfection and taste amazing!), but the other stuff has been given attention. The bread comes out on new boards with cinnamon butter, and it seems the way it's shaped and baked has changed. We loved it! The salads seemed crispier, overall fresher, and buried beneath is their signature ranch we've always loved. And the baked potato that came with my steak was large and garnished beautifully with butter, sour cream, cheese and chopped fresh bacon, not the hard bits that come from a jar. I should've taken pics, but was just too drawn into our experience to take the time. Outback... pay attention to this location. Whatever you're telling them to do (or they've implemented on their own), it is working!!! This one meal has single-handedly captured our attention again, and if we find the same experience at the next location we visit in the future, then we will be putting you back toward the top of our list of favorite places to eat. read more

This mustang convertible parked across the wheelchair ramp at the Outback Restaurant on US 19. The hostess told us that it was our problem for bringing her And NO ONE in the restaurant would help us to get our 97 year old friend in a wheelchair to her car in 95 degree heat. . Thankfully some people in the parking lot came to help us lift her over the curbs to try to get her to safety. Well, if you know me, you know I had choice words for Outback. Ordered online for curbside pickup for my grandma's birthday dinner. Ordering was easy and liked that I could do via the app and schedule a pickup time. I received a text when they began cooking the order and when we arrived at the restaurant there was clear designated parking for curbside pickup. We sat in the car and was immediately greeted upon arrival. Food was bagged well and delivered to the car. Staff that brought the food out was courteous. When we got to my grandma's facility and gave out the 10 meals everything was to order except for my daughter's Alice Springs chicken. I specifically asked for no mushrooms however it was as though they put extra mushrooms. I also asked for extra honey mustard but it only came with 1. Overall good experience. This was make up meal from my past dining experience where I dined and got two meals in an appetizer took three meals in an appetizer home. All three meals were incorrect, and the appetizer was half cooked. No sauces were sent in the bag our meal there was absolutely wonderful with great service. In natural lighting looks more red than it is. They even add a layer of spices on the outside - excellent. This meal was ENOUGH FOR TWO! Two sides accompanied the rib. The sweet potatoe was sweet & side of Ceasar salad was fresh. The strawberry cheesecake was super rich. It's identical to the one made at Bonefish & Flemings. For $7.99 - it was worth me getting sick just to eat half of it. They even brought out my food for me - I was going to go inside and they were so fast to deliver it. I am not sure what level of management she is in, but she is preventing Outback from taking my money and if I was the owner I would be super upset at this person! What happened to Outback?? We have not ordered from here in a few years. It was always great! We ordered 2 different steak salads and a soup for curbside pickup. Both salads were 85% iceberg lettuce including the core:( But the worst part was that the steak was not edible! Each piece was so chewy that it literally had to be thrown out. Also, no flavor at all. I am not exaggerating. The steak was unlike anything I have ever had from Outback. At least the loaded potato soup was good. I will never order from here again. read more

I've had two star and four star experiences at this location, hence the three star rating. I should confess that I'm on team Longhorn, and only betrayed them when I received gift cards for Outback. The less than stellar experiences were several months ago. Thought the food was mediocre and the mashed potatoes were inedible. Gave it another go last weekend and tried the "four courses for $15.99" deal, as advertised on the table. Our server was cool enough to make it work gluten-free style! We subbed the soups with sides, and the cheesecake with the Chocolate Thunder from Down Under, which is their only gluten free dessert. The 6oz sirloin was cooked well and seasoned nicely. The sweet potato, fries, and broccoli were all really good. We split the dessert and enjoyed every bite. We stumbled upon the deal which made our visit totally worth it but the regular menu prices are a bit steep. The portions and quality pale to what Grill Smith and Longhorn offer. read more

Ok as you may have noticed I have a love/hate relationship with Outback. This was an interesting excellent experience due to our super server, Jess. Jess was outstanding ( I almost suspect she had an identical twin because she was everywhere!) There seems to be a trend that servers want to take your order before retieving your ordered drinks, which I find frustrating. Not Jess, she brought everything promptly, handled refills without asking, and anticipated all of our needs. Food was served hot, and as ordered and even served by Jess instead of a kitchen runner.
