We dined here on Sunday September 29th, 2024 - we were visting from Montreal, Canada and had never tried this chain before. Comparable experiences would be Texas Roadhouse or Longhorn, we found Outback to be similar but with more of a "cajun" flair. The food is seasoned bit differently compared to other steakhouse chains. I opted for small sirloin and "bloomin" chicken which is a chicken breast that's been battered the same way as their famous blooming onion appetizier. I paid a bit extra to get the mac and cheese and had a side of mashed potatoes. The food was all delicious, very generous portions, but everything was seasoned with a hint of spice, best way to describe it is "cajun" or tex mex or something with a very light spice. My partner had the surf and turf, ribeye steak and some grilled shrimp. The complimentary bread and butter were delicious - in all it was a satisfying meal, with prompt and friendly service. Everything was cooked well and there were no issues. The only thing that could make this place better would be the location, it seemed like it was in the middle of nowhere. There's a small budget motel next to it but the area isn't within a strip mall or close to other businesses so it seemed kind of sketchy. The general ambiance and decor was a bit dated, simple. There was nothing that stood out. The floor looked it used to be tiled or carpet that was just ripped apart and it was exposed concrete. Outstanding service and solid food! Outback Steakhouse is a standard - always consistent steak with great sides. We made "reservations" on the app about 30 minutes before. We arrived and waited about 15 minutes for a seat - we were seated in a nice booth. Our waiter Patrick came over quickly and took our order. He brought our drinks promptly. We made a few mistakes including stating that we wanted all the food at once - what we meant was that we wanted the food to come out as it was ready. When we realized this, we called over Patrick and he didn't seem exasperated but explained that he would do what he could. He fixed it by bringing out our bread, salads and French onion soup right away. Then 10 minutes later the rest of our food arrived at the table: strip steak, filet mignon, potatoes and vegetables. Then came our next mistake - we forgot to order a potato for one of us - Patrick was able to get us another potato quickly. When we were ready to go, he brought us our check and even asked us if we had and wanted to log our meal onto our Outback Rewards. Patrick was excellent - some of the best service ever! I ordered buffalo wings and they don't come with blue cheese, when I asked about it they said I had to pay 1.50 extra and i had to spend at least 5.00 to do a credit card transaction, they were so rude about it too, the service at the counter is terrible and when I asked to speak to a manager about it they insisted that don't because he wasnt foing to help me and then he was even worse, not to mention I tipped them 2.50 when I paid at first but they didn't care, I'll never ever eat there again, I wish I didn't call them in the first place, they were literally on the phone with a customer who canceled and order because they don't deliver in they area and the workers where happy they didn't have to make the order, they care more about standing around than making orders and money for their business read more

She was the most unfriendly person I've ever come across in the service industry. She took our order and we never saw her again. She walked by our table several times and never said a word. Very experienced ones too, If you enjoyed the Outback in Enfield, CT - I'm happy to report that majority of the staff have moved to this location and brought with them the excellent service from their closed location. The manager explained to me that Enfield's lease had expired and the rent had skyrocketed; causing it to close down. Majority of the staff have moved to West Springfield and the food, service, and atmosphere is reminiscent of Enfield. All of the issues of this location posted in negative reviews have been resolved by this management team and I'm happy to say this location is on track to be an excellent one. I've dined at every location in Connecticut, and Enfield was by far the most superior location. I'm happy they've brought that service to West Springfield read more

This is the first Outback Steakhouse I've been to in Massachusetts. It was really crowded, but we were seated immediately. My husband and I was seated and waited on our waitress. Our waitress Kali was SUPER NICE! She greeted us with a smile, went over the specials, drinks and etc. I don't drink and my husband have to work in the morning, so I had a strawberry lemonade and my husband had water with lemon on the side. *The light is very dim here so if you need assistance with reading the menu, you may need to use your light on your phone. (Lol)! Next, my husband ordered the Aussie Sampler. It comes with mac and cheese bites, Aussie fries and onion petals. I tried the mac and cheese bites and they were awful. My Husband tried them and he didn't like them either. We sent the bites back and didn't request for a substitute. I didn't eat anything else from the appetizer. I dont eat bacon, and the fries had it on there. I didn't want onion petals either. Our waitress came back and took our order for dinner. I ordered the Great Barrier Combo. I really wasn't going to order this since I am not a fan of lobster, but my husband said he will eat the lobster and that was fine. It comes with steamed lobster tail, two crab cakes and two grilled shrimp skewers. For my sides, I had broccoli and a baked potato. I didn't eat the baked potato, but I ate some of the broccoli. My husband ordered the steak with crispy lobster and shrimp. Everything but the steak was fried. He loved it. It comes with a sweet and spicy sauce which he made sure that he took some extra sauce and bread home. We had a lot of food left, so we packed it up for later. Our dinner was great, our waitress was awesome and our night was perfect. If we had to do it all over again, my husband said he will get the crispy lobster and shrimp bites for an appetizer and the sirloin and grilled shrimp with a baked potato and Mac and cheese. Our son didn't come, so we took him a 6 ounce steak, broccoli and mashed potatoes. He liked his meal but didn't eat all of it. He saved it for later. If you decide to come here, please ask for Kali. She's a great waitress and very helpful. The other waitresses seem nice as well, but Kali was super and we tipped her really well. Even though the mac and cheese bites were not good, I still will give this restaurant a 5. Can't say that the food from here is terrible but I don't think that it's worth the amount of money that I spent here. Spent close to $80 just between the two meals and one soft drink and one water. Considering the menu options that are offered , it isn't much different than your Chili's or Applebee's. I was with a party and didn't want to be the guy complaining when I received my food. However, I ordered a ribeye. It definitely wasn't a ribeye as the meat was tough and there wasn't any fat at all, which is what you normally get with a ribeye. So I'm not sure if they substituted another cut because they ran out or this is what they serve. Either way I'm not happy with what I got. I got this on 10/29/24. I went there to meet a couple of friends today for lunch Saturday. The manager was very nice. However, the food was not so nice highly salted food on mine and my friend, my friends, chicken salad, Cobb salad, however was OK. The manager replaced it with a piece of salmon, that was just mediocre. It's not her fault but I think when you have an older person come into the restaurant, they should serve more bland food and let the customer pick how much spices they want. For what Outback is, it's a good steakhouse. It of course doesn't beat a local steakhouse, but it does a pretty damn good job making a steak and some bbq. We went here last week and tried something new-- the fried ribs. I was skeptical. They were served with the bloom sauce from the bloomin' onion, and was actually really good! Covered in sauce and very meaty. I always get steak here, and though I like to order medium rare, I always get medium here because it's basically outback's medium rare version. The steak is always nice and juicy. I usually get the loaded baked potato which is excellent, but this time I changed it up with the Mac and cheese, which was just ok. The green beans that were the seasonal veggie were crisp and garlicky, though. The bf got his usual order of the bloomin' burger, which is his favorite item on the menu. He gets it a lot. Cooked well with bloomin' onion petals served on top. We also love the cheesy fries ( outback makes a killer ranch dipping sauce for these) the steakhouse quesadillas, and the bloomin' onion of course. They also have good mixed drinks..they make a mean pina colada and this time I had the castaway cocktail. Yum! read more

4 out of 6 meals were filet/steaks. Every ingle one was either way over or way under cooked. Mashed potatoes were so bad you couldn't even eat them. The desserts that were compared to make up for the terrible meal were equally bad. We won't be returning to this establishment. read more

On December 30th, I went to pickup a takeout order for my son's birthday and due to technical difficulties, my order was not received by the restaurant until about 30 minutes after I'd waited. The gentleman working the pickup line was extremely professional and apologetic. He allowed us to remain in our vehicle, kept coming to give us updates and even gave us an extra dessert for the kiddos in the car. He checked the order over and finished off the experience with gift cards. It was a Saturday night and we had a very long day ( mom guilt on not wanting my kids to to feel jilted for a bday close to Christmas). His kindness and professionalism meant wonders. I've been a customer of this west Springfield location for over 7 years. We would would come here so frequently we knew staff and managers by name. At its high those many years ago food, atmosphere, & service was always great! Unfortunately it didn't last when the manger moved to the enfield location and this location (west Springfield) took a dive. We kept giving chance after chance hoping that it was just a bad night but it never got better! We ended up traveling further to the enfield location and stopped coming to the west Springfield location altogether. Within the last year we have tried twice to come and have ended up disappointed. Imagine my surprise tonight in having the most enjoyable dining experience here (3/17/2022). I couldn't believe it at all! My food was HOT, let alone it came out extremely quick! I'm saying every single thing I ordered! Soup, wings, entree everything!! The service I can't say enough how amazing it was! Pam was my server and was soo sweet. There were also two wait staff gentlemen (Raith & Corey) that assisted her that were sooo attentive and efficient at making sure all our needs and wants were met! This was hands down the best dinner we have had here in I don't even know how long! It excites me to say that with service & food raising back to the quality and standards I expect that this location (west Springfield) will finally be back on our list of places to stop for an enjoyable dinner.
