I've been a customer of this west Springfield location for over 7 years. We would would come here so frequently we knew staff and managers by name. At its high those many years ago food, atmosphere, & service was always great! Unfortunately it didn't last when the manger moved to the enfield location and this location (west Springfield) took a dive. We kept giving chance after chance hoping that it was just a bad night but it never got better! We ended up traveling further to the enfield location and stopped coming to the west Springfield location altogether. Within the last year we have tried twice to come and have ended up disappointed. Imagine my surprise tonight in having the most enjoyable dining experience here (3/17/2022). I couldn't believe it at all! My food was HOT, let alone it came out extremely quick! I'm saying every single thing I ordered! Soup, wings, entree everything!! The service I can't say enough how amazing it was! Pam was my server and was soo sweet. There were also two wait staff gentlemen (Raith & Corey) that assisted her that were sooo attentive and efficient at making sure all our needs and wants were met! This was hands down the best dinner we have had here in I don't even know how long! It excites me to say that with service & food raising back to the quality and standards I expect that this location (west Springfield) will finally be back on our list of places to stop for an enjoyable dinner. On December 30th, I went to pickup a takeout order for my son's birthday and due to technical difficulties, my order was not received by the restaurant until about 30 minutes after I'd waited. The gentleman working the pickup line was extremely professional and apologetic. He allowed us to remain in our vehicle, kept coming to give us updates and even gave us an extra dessert for the kiddos in the car. He checked the order over and finished off the experience with gift cards. It was a Saturday night and we had a very long day ( mom guilt on not wanting my kids to to feel jilted for a bday close to Christmas). His kindness and professionalism meant wonders. NEVER AGAIN. This Outback is horrible. To begin with, we waited an hour to get seated. The food and the service were unacceptable. I ordered a steak medium well and it came back burned, dry, and gray on the inside. By the time they brought me another steak, everyone at my table was done eating. I had ordered a 9 oz steak and the new one they brought me looked small. I questioned it and they assured me it was a 9 oz steak. I was so disgusted that I ended up not eating my meal. I packed it up and took it home. When I got home, I put it on my food scale and the steak was 5 oz. They not only screwed up my order, but they brought me a steak half the size of the one I ordered. We were at Outback on Sun., Aug. 20, around 2-3:30 because dinner at odd times is usually quiet. I ordered medium prime rib, it came red. I couldn't eat it so I sent it back but by the time it came, my husband was about through with his filet--which he'd ordered medium but arrived a bit undercooked. My brocolli was good, but the fries had too much salt. A diner near us spilled a glass of water on the floor--& not only did no help her clean it up, but a waitress actually walked by & gave her more napkins for her to do it herself! They put up a yellow floor horse at the puddle, but that table had to sit there w/ it next to their chair. The section we were in had about 4-5 parties, then 3, not very busy. We don't mind paying for quality. Quality and quantity is a bonus. Sadly, neither are in abundance at this Outback. The first sign of trouble was that we waited for a good five minutes in front before anyone recognized our presence. It took another 2-3 minutes to get seated. Without being asked, we were put in the bar serviced by the laziest bartender who was completely disengaged. The only person she paid any attention to was a loudmouth at the bar. We ordered the Ahi appetizer and split an Alice Springs chicken. The Ahi was less than 2 ounces sliced super thin. The cut was not consistent with slush grade tuna. I have enjoyed Alice Springs chicken for many years, many times. I have never had a more pitiful version of this dish. It was as if it had been prepared in a microwave by someone who already quit their job. No seasoning, nearly raw bacon, no sear on the chicken and soggy, tasteless mushrooms. The baked potato was undercooked and over salted. If I had to guess, the single piece of chicken was less than 4 oz. I don't think I ever had this dish served with such a small protein portion. To summarize the food was substandard in quality and served ridiculously slowly at 2pm on a Saturday by a bartender who really hates her job. We might go back to an Outback, but never this one. read more

Came here to this location and instantly wasn't welcomed. Sat down at the bar area on my last night visiting from Southern California. Ordered a drink and shrimp appetizer. Asked for an extra sauce and never received it. My sister mentioned it to another server cause we hadn't seen ours for a while. It now took another 20 minutes plus to get a soup and grilled chicken dinner. The food arrived and the chicken had burn marks on it and looked like it had been sitting under a hot lamp for about 15 minutes. The sweet potato looked dried up. I tried cutting into the chicken and it was hard as a rock. Told the server and now we started getting ignored even more. Another server walks by and we complained and she said I'm not the one even serving your table and so we asked for the manager. The manager comes over and apologizes but didn't seem even in the bit sincere and simply said what items you want removed. I asked for my salad which they charged me 5.99 separately to be removed since it was part of the meal that was garbage. The soup came out and looked like the cheese had sat there too for 15 minutes under a heat lamp. The place wasn't too busy and the workers were more having conversations with each more then serving the customers. Had a very poor experience eating here tonight. Waited over a hour for our food. The food was mediocre and when they brought it out they didn't bring it all out at the same time either so my family was eating at different times. I gave the waiter my card to pay at the end and it took him 10 mins to bring it back as he had it carried it around the store while serving other customers and he went to the back multiple times and when he came back out I asked if I could have my card back and he said he didn't even pay for my order yet. It has been a long time since I have written a review and I typically wouldn't write a review about a chain restaurant. After a 5 hour drive to Massachusetts my partner and I were very hungry. I had been craving a steak since the day before. There weren't many choices around so let go to Outback. My thinking was, even if the steak is disappointing the wings will likely make up for it (I have an affinity for kookaburra wings). The restaurant isn't in the most attractive neighborhood, giving us pause but we ventured on driven by exhaustion and hunger. We we're seated immediately and shortly after Scott introduced himself. What a joy. He was a perfect server. He took our drink order and left us to figure out our choices. We decide to share a meal. Scott returned and mediated further decisions regarding our side. Scott was extremely helpful and generally just refreshing. The shared came out on two plates. The steak and baked potato arrived with an additional warm plate and the potato toppings in separate ramekins. Every things was actually delicious. Scott checked on us appropriately (not too frequently), he also asked if I had a dine rewards account which I do but had completely forgotten about. I've had less impressive experiences at Morton's and Ruth's Chris, so this experience earns my five stars. read more

We literally just left the place, and it was our first time at an Outback. I gotta tell you all that this place was amazing from the time we we're greeted at the door till the second we left. Our waitress, Jade was on top of everything and happily checked on us often to make sure everything was perfect which it was and the manager, Izzy personally thanked us for driving an hour to eat with them which no manager ever does anywhere. I've been to Texas Roadhouse before and I thought that it was the best steakhouse I've ever eaten at but man, was I wrong. We have been eating at Outback Steakhouse for nearly 30 years all over the USA and World. It seems like the past few years, the quality of some items has gone down hill in the wrong direction. We live about 3 blocks from this location. We would like to eat here often due to close proximity to our home. The quality of the food, the filet mignon, the lobster and also the salad is just not the same, like it used to be. It does not seem to be of high quality and definitely does not have that fresh quality taste to it. Much of the food is over-salted. Great tasting food does not revolve around salt. It revolves around the right herbs and spices in the right quantities added! The bread, hot potato soup, mashed potatoes and drinks are pretty good. Corporate needs to make improvement on the aforementioned areas of weakness. At this time, we will be putting our patronage on hold as it makes no sense to continue to dine here as upgrades are needed. Somebody wake up at Corporate and get this corrected ASAP. Thank you! First off let me say I understand that the world is short staffed!! I seen enough moving around that there was no reason for what went on....From the moment we walked in we should have turned around! It's was 9p majority of the tables at the bar were dirty with dishes. We had to sit in the dinning area, she didn't even offer to clear one off. She set us with no utensils. The soup was room temperature, the waiter brought sour cream that had stuff in it which she says was butter because the are next to each other!!! Wow!! At this point the restaurant is empty and we are asking where our food is. Steak over cooked and plate was missing items.... Needless to say we were not happy customers.... The only thing good about this experience was the friend I had with me for dinner. When we arrived we got a reasonable wait for a Friday evening. When we were seated, it took over 15 minutes before anyone approached our table. There were several of the wait staff walking fast around the dining area and other that just meandered slowly. Unfortunately one was ours. When she finally arrived, it took another 15 minutes for our drinks to come (2 beers), then another 5 for 1 glass of water (after a snarkey comment from our wait staff). After another long wait, we finally were asked about our order. 1 ribeye (rare), with a topping of broiled shrimp, and one filet with lobster cooked medium. Our bread came without bread plates, and felt lucky to get the bread. A nice staff member tasked with clearing plates, asked us if we wanted more bread and quickly came back with it (thanks AB) Afer iver an hour our meals finally arrived. My "rare" ribeye was about as cooked through as it could have possibly been. Not a single wavelength of red or molecule of H2O in its poor abused meat as a result if it being under the heat lamps am sure. Same for the fillet. We asked to see the Manager. When he arrived, he never apologized but did quickly offer to replace our meals free of charge. At that point I told him he had a great employee in AB and gave him a $10 to give to him. Our waitress, never returned. When our check arrived it was the full price. Again asking for the manager, and saying "this is on you, right", he became obviously irritated and ripped the check off of the table. We still gave the sluggish waitress a tip but will never return. 1) horrible overpriced food, 2) a manager with an attitude, a waitress who was snarky at the start then it got worse. 3) A good employee, who never came back to say thank you for the tip. The manager "Erica" was less than helpful, said she would go check on the meal, and then never returned to the table. My wife's steak ordered medium, then came out nearly raw, so we sent it back. Only to then being forgotten about again. As her steak FINALLY came out it was now cooked well done. Again no apologies or even the offer to take it off the check. We went here at lunchtime on a Thursday. When we arrived some girl was laying half passed out on the front lawn of the restaurant which was weird but we disregarded it as an oddity and ventured in. The service was ok but the food was nothing great. Some guy who looked like a druggie was all over the restaurant acting weird and had a cigarette (unlit) hanging out of his lips. Staffing and management seems to need improvement. Waiting at bar for over five minutes before I was acknowledged. Received salad without silverware and had to flag down a different server to request cutlery as my server evaporated. Watched as two different couples ordered Prime Rib. After accepting order server returned and were told they were out . A different table had the same problem. Staff appear demoralized and state "they would quit if they did not have bills to pay." Group requested to see manager and none arrived in the ten minute period that I witnessed. Outback was once a terrific brand and I was excited to see a franchise as the ones in my area have closed. Came in today, Katie was our server and she was great. However my Blooming chicken wasn't cooked all the way. When we told the manager, she was incredible. She got a new meal to us super fast, and came back to check on us. She even came back again and offered a slice of cheesecake. Since the Outback in Enfield CT closed, some of the staff moved to the W Springfield location, it has been a learning curve for everyone. We've all been there in that situation, so we've adapted to try and take the good with the bad. We were seated rather quickly, and were happy to see our favorite waitress (Pam)! The skills in the kitchen need to be fine tuned, but we had no place to go. We will be back, it's always nice seeing the servers from Enfield ~ like being home. read more

I order my stead med well and it always comes back blood red. Next time, I will say well done. I eat here with my parents because they like it. The wife & I both enjoyed a Sat. afternoon lunch with our daughter. She has the bloomin sirloin steak with aussie fries ...everything was seasoned nicely and very well cooked. I had the wild mushroom sirloin, which was cooked nicely and had a sour cream baked potato...Was pretty tasty and enjoyed my meal. For dessert we shared the chocolate thunder from down under...was very tasty as well!!! The warm brownie was so moist and chewy with the vanilla ice cream which made this a delish combination!!! We had a great experience at Outback! We sat at the bar as there was a long wait for regular seating. The bartenders were personable, interactive, and attentive. They made great drink and food recommendations. All of our food was fresh out of the kitchen and delicious. At one point, a glass accidentally broke behind the bar and a piece landed very close to one of our meals. The staff apologized and quickly replaced the meal to be on the safe side. Every time I've gone here, the food has been very good for the money. The reason I'm writing this review is that last night when I went, the food was NOT up to par. Our fish was undercooked, and we were missing some sides. This was a problem, because we had ordered curbside pickup. We called and spoke to a manager, Julie, who was the extremely kind and accommodating. She offered to send us a gift card refunding the purchase, as a way to avoid the 20 minute drive back there. Instead we returned today to try again. She didn't even want to see the picture I had taken the previous night of the undercooked fish, trusting our word instead. We received 2 complementary meals, an apology, and kindness at every turn. A lot of places don't have great customer service these days, but this place was a real class act.
