The steaks were decent both times I have eaten here. The service is good. However, the cheese fries were absolutely awful both visits to the tune of burnt and ultra stingy on the bacon. Cheese is supposed to be melted, warm-to-hot and slightly stringy , not rock hard and cold on overcooked fries. There should be much more than, literally, seven tiny pieces of crumbled bacon. Service was bad, no napkins or silverware until we asked for it, then we sat with our appetizers on the table but couldn't eat. It took five minutes before the waiter (Alex) came back with the silverware, the food was cold by then. I ordered the Outback burger and fries. Ok, so we're biased. DD works here. And we haven't been to an Outback in many years because we didn't like the spicy seasoning on the steaks. But we wanted to see DD in action so we dropped by. To say things have improved over the years doesn't even cover it. Steaks were wonderful. Portions were better (smaller and more reasonable) than I remember and service was friendly and fast. The waitress recommended the apple pie for dessert. We ordered it, even though I wasn't really feeling it. It was AMAZING. Really mom's apple pie. The last review from Outback was from 01/07/16. As all places there were good points and bad points about this visit the good yeah let's start there. Our waiter Stephen was phenomenal, awesome, funny and attentive. He was the only positive. The food was bland the appetizers were fried Mac n cheese balls and bloomin onions which both were greasy and over done. It seems the bloomin' onion keeps getting smaller and smaller every time I visit. This time I was given two sauces with the onion which is fine because we usually ask for another one, however it seemed that the second sauce cup was placed on the plate to cover where there should have been more bloomin onion. I also asked for pasta with chicken and shrimp and I told the waiter I was going to split it with my daughter and he took it upon himself to split the order for us and put two different plates and when I asked why he said " I wanted to help because you are always busy doing things with the kids I wanted to give you one thing less you had to worry about" The funny thing is he doesn't know me from Adam, and I thought the gesture from Stephen was sweet and made my evening a little better. STEPHEN IS THE ONLY reason I did not give this visit 1 star. Sometimes one person and one gesture can make a visit much better then. Now the straw that broke the camels back was a very rude and arrogant female waiter that was working side by side with Stephen. After I paid my bill I flagged the female waiter down and asked can she add my visit to the rewards program that I had already signed up for. Her response "Give the me bill. Just so you know I can have someone do this for you, but there is no way I will guarantee that this will show up on your account for the rewards. You need to tell us ahead of time because this is not an easy process for someone to have to do" WOW! She was blatantly rude and disrespectful. I do not care if what I request is an easy process or not her attitude was completely uncalled for. We have some family illnesses that make meal preps difficult lately. Found out that Outback delivered about 6 weeks ago and have used them maybe 5 times in the last month. Family of 5 so the bill is always above say $120 for delivery. We tip heavy. A few nights ago, I ordered for a few of us and mine was a ribeye, medium. At most places I go medium rare, but when I did that at this location a month ago I got way too rare, didn't complain but could hardly cut the steak.This time steak showed up way over well done, and late, at like 9PM, but we had called late so no biggie, just wanted to square up. Mgr, Phil said he could send again or would notate it and we would be taken care of next time. We opted for next time. Next time was tonight, 2 days later and I ordered and then attempted to get my recompense as per my conversation with Phil, and was placed through on the phone to Kim, tonight's manager. Abrasive right from the start when I tried to explain the story. She said that there is no record of any issue with any delivery to me and they are very good at keeping records of such things, essentially calling me a liar. I am a physician who practices just up the road from this location for as long as they have been here. I ask her to call Phil, his night off, as he would recall the conversation from a two or three nights ago and she refused, its Phil's night off after all. Well we have two cancers in my household, which forces us to order out more than usual, and when service falls short we are in tough shape. When we call back and are told will be made good only to be argued with and badgered by a Kim, will respond with: I will take money back for the burnt steak of the other night, and for essentially insinuating that I was lying, and will never step foot in or will order from your establishment, in Winchester or elsewhere. There are a few mom and pops and respectable corporate establishments locally that would never treat us this way. Kim needs an attitude adjustment. Phil was fine on the phone but apparently failed to log the details of the call. I am sure some sparks will fly there but not my concern. When they first opened my experience was amazing. I've always enjoyed OBSH but over the past 2 years this particular one has declined. My food isn't terrible but it's not great, I could over look that it's the cleanliness at my last visit ( 3 months ago) that I just can not over look. We arrived at 2pm, off hours. My table was sticky, my glass had lipstick on it, the bathroom was filthy and there were green beans under the table which I stepped on getting into my booth. Outback was one of my favorite chains but this one needs corporate to do a pop inspection. I don't recommend this one unless they clean up their act. read more

Never again. First visit to this particular Outback. We always sit at the bar where ever we go and this experience was one of the worst. Wednesday evening not busy but we felt like we were last week's laundry. No greeting by bartender just "what do you want to drink." Bartender spent 12 minutes chatting with a couple that were obviously regulars before she even asked if we would like to order anything to eat. Stopped by at 8:00 on a Friday night and got seated immediately. Ordered the spinach artichoke dip for an appetizer, which was delicious. I had the Outback burger which was juicy and cooked perfectly. Had blue cheese wedge salad as my side - perfect as usual. Our server was attentive. This review is not really for Outback's food. I've always found the food to be good, but not mind blowing. Definitely nothing to write home about, but a consistent and reliable menu of options. This review is actually for a server we had today, Samantha. My husband and my very precocious and overly sociable 5 year old were seated in the booth adjacent to the bar area so my daughter could watch tv while we were waiting for our food. We'd come an hour after they opened on a weekday so they were hoppin but not weekend insane. Samantha greeted us promptly and was super friendly, complimented my tattoo and was just very easy going. I don't drink very often but I was in the mood for a pale ale. I was just going to get whatever they had on the menu but Samantha recommended I try one they had a couple months ago that was really hot. She checked to see if it was still available and there were 2...now 1 available after I ordered one. I can't remember the name of the beer to save my life but it was definitely a great pick. We ordered the rest of the meal and everything arrived promptly. Samantha covered all of our needs with a smile. She even noticed that my husband ran out of ice water and arrived with a fresh one within seconds, literally, of him finishing the other one. Her level of promptness and attentiveness brought what was usually a pretty vanilla experience at Outback to a stellar one. To top everything off, right before we left, my daughter knocked over my full glass of water all over the table and into the booth seat covering the coloring project my daughter was working so hard on. Samantha saw and told us not to worry, she'd take care of it and even offered to grab my daughter an extra coloring menu and crayons which delighted my daughter. The easiest way to any parent's heart is to take care of their kid(s). Samantha's service went a level higher than any other server at Outback has ever gone in any of the other Outback's I've been to and I've been going to Outback's for probably 20 years or so. Outback has a nice selection of steaks and sides. I have been to multiple locations. This one was disappointing. Service was spotty and a bit disorganized. Food was not done as well. I haven't been to an Outback in probably five or six years. I wouldn't have gone, but my cousin was visiting for Australia and oddly enough he wanted to go to Outback. I was like ok, but only under the condition that you use a very thick Australian accent the whole time we're there. He did. It was hilarious. I don't usually ever go to chain restaurants, just cause I much prefer to sample and support the local businesses. That being said, the waiters were very friendly and made sure we always had a refill or whatever we needed. The food was cooked as ordered and came out very promptly. The wine was pretty good too. Seems to be a better alternative than most the chains I've been to. Don't understand the low review? We have eaten here many times and have always had a delicious meal. My husband and I had the 6 ounce Center-cut Sirloin. They were cooked exactly as ordered. Mine medium rare, his medium. A 6 ounce sounds small-plenty big! We both had the sweet potato with everything. If you haven't tried Outbacks sweet potatoes, you are missing out. Caesar salad for hubby, tossed for me-both fresh, no brown yucky stuff. Fresh, crisp, cold! Yeah! Hubby got the French Onion soup, served good and "hot", he also loves the clam chowder. The lobster tail was a size of a shrimp very upset with how the prices have gone up so much for a lower-level steakhouse restaurant. Though our service was excellent it seems that outback has created a menu that has only gone up in price in the last six months $24 for a small fillet and a lobster tail size of the shrimp and a glass of wine that costs $10 is no longer a bargain . These days when people do not have a ton of money they have put yourself and unique market by raising the prices and pretending like everything is 995 not true shame on you outback. I still love the blooming onion but everything seems to get smaller outback including the salads and the potatoes at one time the baked potato was Hughes the salad was a very good portion outback is going down the drain will not be back in less I'm craving a blooming onion. Will you still love the lobster add-on cannot believe they can sell it for $11 when is the size of a crawfish I love food I love good restaurants outback very disappointing for the price. WORST kitchen manager ever! Ordered a cob salad with fried ckn tenders and when it came, the chicken was slightly warm and my husband prefers it hot, right out of the fryer so he asked if she could take it back and make sure the chicken was hot. Within 60 seconds the kitchen mgr came to out table, salad in hand and said "this chicken IS hot, it just came out of the fryer" my husband said it wasn't hot enough and she started ARGUING with him that it was hot. Of course it is Outback and is basically the same as every other Outback but the service is always great, your food always arrives in a timely fashion and is always cooked exactly as requested. My boyfriend and I eat here several times a month and have never had a bad experience. The drinks are great and they always have good specials. Sometimes the wait is a little long but they usually bring around trays of appetizers to sample if you have to wait more than 20 minutes. If you ever decide to get dessert, try the Chocolate Thunder from down under, it is AMAZING!!!!! read more

Over the weekend my husband and I decided to go here after Buca Di Beppo failed us, it was around 4 pm and we had to wait an hour, which was expected because it was a Saturday. When we got seated; we got our drinks fairly fast, and our blooming onion right as we got our drinks it was very nice (as well as the bread) Our waiter was eccentric and his partner did a great job too. I ordered a steak and coconut shrimp and it was cooked to perfection, my husband seemed to have enjoyed his steak filet and broccoli. Outback Steakhouse has been banished to Gift Card Island. The food and service is so inconsistent, the only way I will step through the door is with a GC tucked in my pocket. My first experience was terrible, waiting ages for wait staff to take our order, a dirty bread plate, which took another age and countless requests to replace. Very little attention paid to us, I attributed it to us not having an adult beverage. Our next visit was quite the opposite. Service was good but the food was ill prepared. The steak we ordered was well done not the medium rare we asked for. The sweet potato had no butter or sugar, the salad arrived after the meal.
