Over the Falls Deli is by far the best pizza around! Lived in WF for 4-1/2 years and found this place just under 4 years ago. Night crew is awesome! Sarah, Chris, Quentin, Neil and Tommy take care of me well. A little over 2 years ago, I called in not knowing what type of pizza I wanted. Chris just made one up on the spot! Awesome! Now I just call and order a large pizza, and they make me something that they dream up. We haven't actually eaten here yet, but I wanted to share our experience. Found this deli on Yelp, saw the good reviews & wanted to try it. When my husband & I got there, they were using heavy equipment to move what looked like a refrigeration unit out the door & over the steps!. A woman helping saw us & came right down to the parking area. She introduced herself as Karen, said that they had JUST starting moving to a new location that day & that they would be re-opening at the new location after the beginning of January. She was VERY nice, giving a description of where the new location will be and the benefits, such as more parking. When we told her we hadn't actually eaten there, she described the restaurant and some of their menu, & let us know that we could follow them on Facebook, to see exactly when they re-open in Jan 2012. For not actually getting to eat at the deli, this was still a great experience! I now look forward even more to trying it for the first time when it reopen! Just my luck that we showed up the day they were moving! If we'd been a day earlier, we would have gotten to try it out! Can't wait! I first had buffalo chicken wings over 25+ years ago. OTF Deli is the true representation of the style, imo. Next their steak and cheese sandwich is superb. it appears to me that OTF is a buck more per entree than other delis nearby but their meats are quality. The best in growing WF area. read more

I was only to their old location once...I can recall it being a cute place, but on the small side. The (relatively) new location is much more spacious, and has a full bar. They feature a big variety of sandwiches, burgers, salads and pizza on the menu. My favorite is definitely their Reuben, though their burgers and soups have gotten good verdicts from other people I've eaten here with. The only issue I've ever had with the food was that one time the sweet potato fries I ordered came out soggy and tasted like they had been sitting out for awhile. Also, on a couple of occasions, the service was a little slow. They were pretty busy at the time, so we forgave them, but the server seemed a little inexperienced and flakey. Also, what's up with the weird chairs? They're not the most comfortable, but if you ask to sit at a booth it's perfectly fine. read more

Homemade food with lots of love and fresh ingredients. Their sandwiches are all amazing, piled high with whatever comes on it, and the homemade chips are great too. Today was the first time I got a salad, and it did not disapppoint! I am still FULL and I ate lunch 3 hours ago. I got the Greek salad with roasted chicken, and it was LOADED with all of the fixens....tomoatoes, cucumbers, red onion, pepporchinis, and lots and lots of feta. The homemade Greek dressing was amazing as well, and I wish I could ask for the recipe or they bottled it. Every visit to Over the Falls has been marvelous, whether for lunch, dinner, or breakfast. Or a to-go order. Service is great with friendly and efficient servers. My husband and I prefer to sit in the bar, as it seems less noisy and, well... we like the pub or tavern atmosphere. Last night I tried the Sirloin Steak for dinner. Wow, how can a sirloin be that tender and flavorful!? The sides were cooked perfectly, too. I'll definitely have it again. My husband had the French Dip on the pretzel roll and he really liked it. Delicious, portions are on the larger end so I found it hard to find something that fit into my eating lifestyle... however- it is possible! I had a veggie stuffed pita. I'm bumping OTF up to five stars. My husband and I come here regularly, and our experiences just keep getting better and better. The food is always good, and their specials are always tasty and unique. Each time we visit, the GM stops by our table and greets us, and actually remembers us (like down to the point where he remembers what we ordered on our last visit... this guy is good!). On one our last visits we tasted a flight of their house infused bourbons... they were so good! I highly recommend the "apple pie" flavor. It really warms you up. This restaurant is solid and they have a really good thing going on. It's one of our favorite places in Wake Forest, for sure! read more

We had a very good dinner here and the Manager/Bartender even made me a special Margarita with no mix just lime juice and orange juice instead of mix. The server, who was brand new, but excellent had questions, she got them answered right away. We were able to get things that were gluten free and they listened to how we needed them prepped and checked many ingredients to make sure we were safe (and neither of us got sick!) It's so nice to get great vegetarian and gluten free options in a friendly atmosphere. I had a ham, cheese and salami sandwich with gluten free bread and it was fantastic! Other diners with us got hamburgers, grilled cheese, an amazing looking turkey philly, etc. Everyone was happy with their food! We'll be back! read more

Have been here a few times and always have had good results. Had the haddock fish fry today and was extremely happy with the fish and love the macaroni salad. Potato salad was a disappointment as it was pretty bland with nothing in it for flavor. Burgers, sandwiches and salads are always good choices. Being originally from Upstate NY the chicken wings are not up to Anchor Bar or Duff's in Buffalo, but are as good as any in the Raleigh area. read more

On my third trip to the Deli, I finally went with friends! Which necessitates a review! Falls Deli is a staple of tiny downtown Wake Forest. Currently located in the old warehouse (moving in September), it is a tiny establishment that gets packed quickly during the rush hours, so be warned. However my recent trip was with the partner in crime and an old friend after dinner typical dinner hours, so we sat ourselves right away. It is first come, first sit. The food is definitely worthwhile here. Nothing too over the top, as their sandwiches are really spot on. I tried their Cascade and my PIC had a Rainbow (chicken philly and turkey sandwich), and both came out as basic staple eats. Their chips however were very greasy, and the garlic bread app was a little dry. So maybe not a strong point there. The place pretty much is like going over to family's for a meal though. Everyone is kind and knows so many customers by name. I wish I lived closer so I could be a regular, as Falls Deli is definitely a diamond in the rough for some WF eats. read more

Oh Wake Forest, how do you tempt me so with such a delightful treat adjacent to a bowling alley? I would never have expected a restaurant two doors down from the local bowling alley to be anything I'd want to return to, or have the desire to try absolutely everything on their delightfully planned menu...but Over the Falls certainly accomplishes that...and more! I've had the delightful experience of being served here three times. Twice for lunch and once for dinner. There is no better place at this price point in RTP and frankly, few places that exceed even at a higher price point for the menu! The amazing sandwiches come on a variety of bread choices including one of the best marble rye I've ever had anywhere in the US and a superbly finished pretzel roll. Imagine a bread and it is likely they feature it here! Additionally, they will swap out breads to accommodate your preferences and only the pretzel roll carries a surcharge of just 1$. The meats are all perfectly flavored, sliced beautifully and layered in sandwiches filled with the exact right mix of cheeses and vegetables. The grilled items are not dripping in oil, but rather perfectly crisp and not burned. I love She Crab soup, but typically do not order it unless I can hear the gulls crying out from the shore. I took a chance and did a cup of soup with my entree and was delighted to find it was as good as any I have had in Charleston, sans the sherry float which I do enjoy! My dining companion chose a flatbread with artichoke hearts, fresh spinach, delicately sliced Bermuda onion, crumbles of feta and the perfect melt of mozzarella! The flatbread was brushed with a blend of olive oil and fresh garlic and was cooked to perfection. It was crisp without shattering at each bite and had enough 'chew factor' to be eaten with a fork if desired. The aroma was phenomenal, the taste even better. Were I to order this, I would add chicken to make it the perfect meal with protein. It is enough to share with several as a starter and even as a meal, plenty to take home to enjoy the next day...it was, much to our delightful surprise, even better Day Two! Torn between a Reuben and a burger, I was and then I saw it...the answer to my culinary prayers, Brink Burger! Their tag line is...We can make it, can you finish it? and I'd have to give a resounding NO. Though I think one of my teen boys could possibly attempt it. A perfectly medium burger atop layers of grilled corned beef, and then snuggled under perfectly done sauerkraut and a blanket of melted Swiss cheese all tucked into grilled swirl rye. Now it traditionally comes with Thousand Island dressing, which I call Thousand Calorie dressing, so I got it on the side and had just a bite or two with that, but it was wonderful without it, too!! Choices of sides are wonderful-the house made chips are divine as are the fries, fruit and cole slaw. I however, happily paid an extra dollar for the sweet potato fries and though I ate only four of them, they were well worth the price. 3/8 in cut long fries with a crisp exterior and steamy, pillow soft interior. No sauce needed, just sprinkle with sea salt and sigh....... You can also substitute the amazing She Crab soup as a side, which I've done both times in the past but heard so much good press on the SPF, I had to give them a go and now I shall be torn forevermore on which side to choose. I may have to start engineering that my dining companions get SPF and I will 'test' a few of theirs! Friendly, delightful staff and even though we once had someone a bit ditzy, she was still such a nice and genuine person, how can you say that's a bad thing? I'd rather have warm and effusive than self-important and abrupt any day! Menu is the same, as is the pricing, from dinner to lunch, which I find delightful, save for 5 entrees that are only available after 5p. The owner is a hoot and if you get a chance to chat with him, be sure you get your waitress to fill your drinks as you settle in for great conversation on any one of a hundred topics he's ready to talk about. He's the kind of person you hope to sit beside on a plane, interesting and engaging and truly cares about making a difference in the world and it shows! Over the Falls should be the ONLY deli anyone in Wake Forest goes to, there is simply nothing that compares! read more

Over the Falls Deli is located in historic downtown Wake Forest and has simply amazing sandwiches! The Kenosis Design is an incredible Checken Salad wrap that I highly recommend and my husband is crazy for The Tablerock. Some others that we have tried that are just as wonderful are the Prospect Point and the Niagra! We have never had the opportunity to try the Pizzas so I can't comment there but the sandwiches are spot on! Chicken Wings are a great choice as well. The restaurant is very clean, the staff is super friendly and accomodating and the location in downtown Wake Forest is wonderful!
