Food: Mushroom soup: delicious Caesar salad: delicious Burschetta: delicious Filet Mignon: Delicious Short rib pasta: delicious Crème Brulee: the worst I've ever had and I have had a lot. It's my favorite dessert. Drinks: A red wine: excellent Old fashioned: excellent Ambiance: Very interesting. The decor and vibes are overall very nice, but you get people who are very casually dressed for a late Friday night dinner. Service: It was really average or arguably poor for this kind of restaurant. They asked what we were celebrating and we mentioned our anniversary. No follow up with decoration on the dessert or anything like that. They had 3-4 different people waiting our table and getting repeated questions like "did someone take your order?" Overall, we just didn't feel special and taken care of. It was not a memorable anniversary dinner. Price: Excellent. It was about $100 cheaper than comparable restaurants that I have eaten at. That might just be because of the area though. Overall we don't think we'll be back and will probably go to Orange County for comparable restaurants. read more

We went to Owens for Christmas eve dinner food was good but way overpriced. We spent $340 for 2 dinners,2 salads, bread and 2 glasses of wine. Well the meal was good, but it wasn't $340 good. Ate here for the first time last night and was truly blown away! The whole service staff from the moment we walked in, to the moment we left were so attentive, kind and really beautiful people. The atmosphere of the place is also very romantic/intimate. I found out that they are regularly changing the food items, which makes it inciting to want to try everything! I tried the cheese tortellini dish which was made with a pumpkin puree and chicken. OMG! If fall can be made into a dish, this is it! The Filet Mignon was amazing as well - they pair it with a demi glace sauce. I tried a few starters as well the apple and gorgonzola bruschetta - this was our servers recommendation and he recommended well. I will def be coming back! read more

I was completely disappointed in this restaurant. We went for my daughter's bday. They fit us in perfectly @ 7:30 and we did not get our food until 8:52. We had to ask our waiter Miguel where are food was. Then we get our portions very small, I was shocked! Very over priced for what you get. You have to order bread 7.00 for a very small baguette. That had to tie us over until we got our food. My daughter s food was cold and that was a 2 to 3 in steak with French fries that was over 45.00. Unfortunately I will never return. Would recommend as a side for the lamb or tomahawk -CHOCOLATE CAKE: tasty dessert to end the night! The cake is more on the brownie-texture side but I love that. Would recommend! SERVICE: 10/10. All staff checked on us consistently, even if they weren't our server. Easy to grab their attention when needed. SEATING: We were seated outside in an enclosed patio with heat lamps. Outdoors is wheelchair accessible. There are a few indoor seats at the bar. I don't believe there are indoor dining tables. PARKING: Street parking (no meters) at the back of the store where the employee entrance is. Regular parking spots in front of the restaurant. We went at 5:30PM on a Saturday and had no issues. RESERVATION: Reservation via Yelp had no issue. There seemed to be a few tables open at 5:30PM but definitely make a reservation just in case. We went around 830pm ish, they were serving some kind of course meal special that day with tomahawk so we thought that would be a great option, since we went there for steak anyways! Very disappointed!!!!! First of all, it took 10 minutes for the appetizer tomato soup to come out which is fine. We were waiting for our caesar salad which should have been out before the steak but both caesar salad and tomahawk steak came out 45 minutes after we ordered it. We were just sitting there sipping our drinks and almost went through 2 cocktails by the time caesar salad came out.... Speechless. To top it off, the steak was good in some parts but was very chewy and hard in other parts. Had to struggle to cut them into pieces Felt definitely like they used cheap meat... I believe the course meal was $180 for 2. For the quality of meat and how slow the food came out (salad shouldnt take 40 min), i wouldnt be coming back Ambiance is not bad, just sucks that the food was not good. read more

Our friends invited us to Owen's Bistro to celebrate. We hadn't been to Owen's Bistro for many years, but I remember it being very good. Owen's Bistro is located in downtown Chino in a classic brick-style building; must be close to 100 years old. The outdoor patio is well-decorated with exposed brick. They have a small but classy bar, and the entire environment is upscale. We started with an old fashioned, and the bartender did a great job preparing it. For appetizers, we ordered the Tuscan Sausage and Grapes, Exotic Mushrooms, and the Loaf bread. The sausage and grapes were tasty and a very interesting combination. The mushrooms were top notch, and the Loaf bread was delicious as well. I might come back and order the Loaf to go! For the main course, I had the Salmon with asparagus. Both items were perfect. My wife had the Petite Filet, Shrimp, Asparagus, and Mashed Potatoes. The steak was cooked perfectly, and the sides were great. For desert, we all shared the Panacotta. The berries and sauce were both amazing. From the environment, to the drinks, to the food, everything was top shelf, and we look forward to returning soon! read more

All I can say is...It's not what it used to be. During our last visit, our overall experience was disappointing and sadly we won't be returning. My rib-eye (supposed to be medium rare) was cooked to death with a bitter/burnt taste. Our cocktails were over hyped by the waiter and we're just not good. My husband and I celebrated our 27th Anniversary here tonight. I spoke to Denise and let her know and she made our night special. So much thought was put into making our night special! Location of our table, flower at our table,.... Food was amazing, staff was attentive and celebrated our day together with us. We had the rib eye and the short rib pasta. Rib eye was tender and pasta was al dente the way I love it. I'm not usually a cheesecake fan, but it did not disappoint. Chef James and Denise, the owners came out to meet us. So we only came for drinks and dessert after dinner so this review is only for that. So I went with an old fashioned ( maple ) and the chocolate cake. Both which were amazing and a perfect combo! Servers and all staff were super friendly and it's a really cute place that oozes class and comfort. I had the pappardelle noodle dish, a bit too salty but really good flavor, I would try it again. We had the burrata, which needed a tiny bit of salt. It has no vinaigrette, they offer to add a 25 yr old vinaigrette for almost the price of the dish... so it doubles the cost. wish it came with it. My husband had the file mignon. It was very good. He also ordered a side of the mashed potatoes. loved it. We had the cannoli for dessert. It was very hard and tasted like cereal. Would not order that again. Started with a trio of fish crudo, albacore, swordfish, and salmon. Then a deliciously simple yet elegant agilio e olio, a non rolled braciole, and a lamb fra diavolo. My auto correct hates Italians, fongule. These dishes are excellent and elegant and paired with some great wine. Fun people we were eating near are all fun. The Caesar salad was good. The filet was decent, but not outstanding. The brown butter potatoes were the loser of the night. I did not enjoy them at all. Dined here for the first time last night for our seventh anniversary. Arrived for our 5:30 reservation and found a small, but beautifully setup gem hiding in plain sight in Chino California. Everything, from our check in to settling our check was exquisitely orchestrated and professionally executed. Never felt rushed to eat or leave, food brought to the table hot and appropriately timed. Entrées were superb. I had the Filet and Deb the Sea Bass. Best of both we've ever experienced and we've been to many great restaurants. Hot Italian bread and olive oil/balsamic vinegar was an excellent starter as was the wedge salad with a thick slice of bacon and a large piece of Blue Cheese. The meal was well proportioned - did not need a carry out box but wwell satisfied. Pricing was actually below what we expected to pay based upon other restaurant experiences.
