Had dinner here with a friend who lives in the area. The service was good. Our food was also good albeit not as warm/hot as it could have been temperature wise. That always is a downer at any dining establishment. I felt the menu was tiny bit overpriced compared to other "New American" style restaurants of similar caliber where I live in West Los Angeles. There doesn't seem to be much competition in the area so, that maybe why. The courtyard dining area was very nice. The live solo guitar player was just ok. read more

Celebrated our 10 year anniversary and couldn't have picked a better place. Jordan was attentive and thoughtful and gave us great suggestions on what to try. I loved the deviled eggs. It's my favorite dessert. Drinks: A red wine: excellent Old fashioned: excellent Ambiance: Very interesting. The decor and vibes are overall very nice, but you get people who are very casually dressed for a late Friday night dinner. Service: It was really average or arguably poor for this kind of restaurant. They asked what we were celebrating and we mentioned our anniversary. No follow up with decoration on the dessert or anything like that. They had 3-4 different people waiting our table and getting repeated questions like "did someone take your order?" Overall, we just didn't feel special and taken care of. It was not a memorable anniversary dinner. Price: Excellent. It was about $100 cheaper than comparable restaurants that I have eaten at. That might just be because of the area though. Overall we don't think we'll be back and will probably go to Orange County for comparable restaurants. read more

The owner(?) let me know it could be made as very spicy. Outdoors is wheelchair accessible. There are a few indoor seats at the bar. I don't believe there are indoor dining tables. PARKING: Street parking (no meters) at the back of the store where the employee entrance is. Regular parking spots in front of the restaurant. We went at 5:30PM on a Saturday and had no issues. Our friends invited us to Owen's Bistro to celebrate. We hadn't been to Owen's Bistro for many years, but I remember it being very good. Owen's Bistro is located in downtown Chino in a classic brick-style building; must be close to 100 years old. The outdoor patio is well-decorated with exposed brick. They have a small but classy bar, and the entire environment is upscale. We started with an old fashioned, and the bartender did a great job preparing it. For appetizers, we ordered the Tuscan Sausage and Grapes, Exotic Mushrooms, and the Loaf bread. The sausage and grapes were tasty and a very interesting combination. The mushrooms were top notch, and the Loaf bread was delicious as well. I might come back and order the Loaf to go! For the main course, I had the Salmon with asparagus. Both items were perfect. My wife had the Petite Filet, Shrimp, Asparagus, and Mashed Potatoes. The steak was cooked perfectly, and the sides were great. For desert, we all shared the Panacotta. The berries and sauce were both amazing. From the environment, to the drinks, to the food, everything was top shelf, and we look forward to returning soon! read more

We went to Owens for Christmas eve dinner food was good but way overpriced. We spent $340 for 2 dinners,2 salads, bread and 2 glasses of wine. Well the meal was good, but it wasn't $340 good. The salads had around 8 pieces of lettuce for $12 & $17 with anchovies. You had to pay for bread and it was a sandwich roll. read more

We went here for Valentine's Day. The reason why, I was looking for places on Yelp that were close to Pomona. After I found the restaurant, I saw that it needed my credit card in order to confirm it. I allowed this. Afterwards, I received a notification Yelp that there would be a $100 cancellation fee if I canceled the reservarion within 24 hours of it. I don't think anyone expects a $100 cancellation fee, neither did I have an opportunity to do anything about that since I was already within the 24 hour period at the time the reservation was made. Given no chance whatsoever to cancel, and having no notice that the cancellation fee would be $100, we decided to go to the restaurant. This marks the first occasion that I've felt 'strongarmed' into going to a restaurant. There were so many firsts that night. Not wanting to be charged $100 for not eating there we sat down. Surprisingly (Or not suprisingly?) the 'fixed' holiday menu said $125 per person. The first course was a tiny potato ball covered in mayonaise. Someone third grader made that at her school. The second course was a salad with one piece of cold King's Hawaiian bread with a sliver of butter stuck in the middle of it. The salad had the same taste and texture of a salad that you would get on a Delta Airlines flight. The third course was the surf and turf/steak and lobster. It was lukewarm at best and overly salted. The final course was what looked like a brown rounded dog treat with orange cream on top -- an entire bag of sugar must have been used to make such a creation. It wasn't edible. No drinks were included for this festive occasion and we didn't purchase any either. When we received the bill came it came to $283.71, not including what would be owed for the tip. The bill also reflected that we would save $13 or $15 if we paid in cash; and that otherwise we would be charged a 4% credit card service fee. To be fair, I think very few people keep $283 in cash and $0.71 in change in their pocket when they're giong out to dinner. Also, I've never seen a credit card service fee at a nice restaurant. I have seen them at donut shops, however. This was the worst and most expensive dinner I've had. I placed the cash tip into the bill folder where the bill was located and advised the waiter that the tip was made in cash and was in the bill holder. When he then handed me the pay device he had pre-selected, I observed that there were three tip choices that could be pressed for the tip, with 18% being the first/low option. It was clear that he had depressed the middle option which was already highlighted (23%? 25%, I can't recall exactly what it was.) I unselected the tip option and told him again that cash for the tip was in the bill folder. Sadly, had Yelp not warned that I would be charged a $100 for not cancelling the reservation we would have gone somewhere else. This was a complete and utter disaster and feels like we were victims of a fraud. I am contacting my bank to see if this unfortunate incident can be disputed. read more

I was completely disappointed in this restaurant. We went for my daughter's bday. They fit us in perfectly @ 7:30 and we did not get our food until 8:52. We had to ask our waiter Miguel where are food was. Then we get our portions very small, I was shocked! Very over priced for what you get. You have to order bread 7.00 for a very small baguette. That had to tie us over until we got our food. My daughter s food was cold and that was a 2 to 3 in steak with French fries that was over 45.00. Unfortunately I will never return. I thought I would give this small business a chance but it didn't work out. For 5 people it was 300.00. Save your money. Also the service was not up to par. read more

We went around 830pm ish, they were serving some kind of course meal special that day with tomahawk so we thought that would be a great option, since we went there for steak anyways! Very disappointed!!!!! First of all, it took 10 minutes for the appetizer tomato soup to come out which is fine. We were waiting for our caesar salad which should have been out before the steak but both caesar salad and tomahawk steak came out 45 minutes after we ordered it. We were just sitting there sipping our drinks and almost went through 2 cocktails by the time caesar salad came out.... Speechless. To top it off, the steak was good in some parts but was very chewy and hard in other parts. Had to struggle to cut them into pieces Felt definitely like they used cheap meat... I believe the course meal was $180 for 2. For the quality of meat and how slow the food came out (salad shouldnt take 40 min), i wouldnt be coming back Ambiance is not bad, just sucks that the food was not good. read more

All I can say is...It's not what it used to be. During our last visit, our overall experience was disappointing and sadly we won't be returning. My auto correct hates Italians, fongule. These dishes are excellent and elegant and paired with some great wine. Fun people we were eating near are all fun. Excited to try this place out. Everyone was really nice and on top of refilling drinks. Great iced tea! I had the pappardelle noodle dish, a bit too salty but really good flavor, I would try it again. We had the burrata, which needed a tiny bit of salt. It has no vinaigrette, they offer to add a 25 yr old vinaigrette for almost the price of the dish... so it doubles the cost. wish it came with it. My husband had the file mignon. It was very good. He also ordered a side of the mashed potatoes. loved it. We had the cannoli for dessert. It was very hard and tasted like cereal. Would not order that again. Location of our table, flower at our table,.... Food was amazing, staff was attentive and celebrated our day together with us. We had the rib eye and the short rib pasta. Ate here for the first time last night and was truly blown away! The whole service staff from the moment we walked in, to the moment we left were so attentive, kind and really beautiful people. The atmosphere of the place is also very romantic/intimate. I found out that they are regularly changing the food items, which makes it inciting to want to try everything! I tried the cheese tortellini dish which was made with a pumpkin puree and chicken. OMG! If fall can be made into a dish, this is it! The Filet Mignon was amazing as well - they pair it with a demi glace sauce. I tried a few starters as well the apple and gorgonzola bruschetta - this was our servers recommendation and he recommended well. I will def be coming back! read more

We can tell he's very passionate and his good energy was so welcoming. We had a good time! We weren't planning on eating since we are before coming but the menu had such wide variety of course we were intrigued. Our server G recommended us some appetizers and OMG i'm so glad we ordered. The bread was so warm and crispy and paired with the whipped butter was top notch. Something so simple but I couldn't stop thinking about it after lol.
