Update to my previous review: Ox car care has been calling me weekly wanting me to renew the policy. Every time I say no and checking my bank account Fri they TOOK $75. When I called them they at first said the policy was never cancelled. Then they said I renewed the policy and I asked them why would I buy something knowing it's no good. So I left it in the bank's hands to get my money back. Ox said that when I called to cancel the policy the call was "disconnected ". DO NOT TRUST ANYTHING OX CAR CARE SAY! New update. Dont buy. It will end up costing you more money in storage fees. Alternator issue is covered and it has been sitting in pending approval for 2 weeks. They say 3-5 business days for claims and mine has been going on 2 weeks. It has cost me $25 a day in storage fee. They say they cover all of these car systems if you get the highest package until a evap purge valve malfunctions and you need a replacement, fuel vapor hose, fuel injector sensor, fuel injector/air duct cleaning. You do not know the small parts they do not cover until your car is at the shop. Then you get a nearly $1,000 bill of which they paid $195. If your car goes in the shop on a Friday, Ox has 48 business hours to say whether or not they will fix your car, then if the labor is not over 8 hours to fix your car, you get NO rental car. Mind you, this was on a Friday afternoon so I had to pay for my own rental car for the weekend and to go to work on Monday. The man who was the claims person was so immature and unprofessional. No real professional would whistle while on a service call and be so cavalier in his conversation. Then when you call to cancel they find a really good price drop for your coverage, which means they are inflating the prices upfront. They are nice on the front end but terrible after you sign up. What a horrible experience. I paid the "risk free" $49 to look at the terms and coverage, which should have been the first red flag. Ox wouldn't send me any details of the policy or coverage without signing up. I also wanted to know the best price I could get if I paid for it all up front; again, the "procedure" is to negotiate after I'm signed up and have reviewed everything. He said they would likely be able to do the number I was looking for. After I received the contract and the price I decided it was just not worth it for me. I then spent weeks trying to get someone on the phone who could cancel the policy. I would be on hold for a while and then get transferred to either a busy signal, or a voicemail that was full. I reached a representative that said he couldn't cancel it but he would get with his supervisor and make sure it was taken care of. Nothing happened so I started the game again. I finally got someone else on the phone and she said it was cancelled but also failed to provide any written confirmation. I tried several messages to any email addresses I could find. The original salesman must have quit because that address isn't valid anymore. I tried calling the regular support line and picking any other option; they said they can't do anything, and then transferred me to the busy signal/full voicemail extension. And that is just Ox... inevitably my card was charged so I started talking to Mepco, the company that handles the payment plan. They said I have to talk to Ox to cancel, which is the opposite of what Ox's terms are. My advice: don't even start the process. If you have: block the charge and well document your requests to both Ox and Mepco to cancel the contract and the agreement; they are separate and I would bet that is a legal game to get a few more dollars. read more

On January 5th of 2024 I wanted to purchased an insurance for my sister (which turned out to be fake) for her 2013 nissan pathfinder on the same day after paying a sum of 75 dollars for the initial payment which was suppose to be a down payment to start the policy. I was told by the perauasive customer service representative that if i was dissatisfied that I could cancel it in less than 30 days. I just would have to call to cancel and I would guarantee my money back. I called in on the same day an hour later, and asked to cancel the policy. After I have read all the bad reviews this company had. The crooks has refuse to cancel. They're trying to push me into keeping it and told me not to pay attention to the low reviews.. I still told him that i wanted to cancel, but he hang up the phone on my face. this fight was continued for a whole 2 days trying to g et them to cancel the policy. Every time I called customer service would hang up on my face. Eventually 4 days later a lady decide to cancel my policy for me. Eventually they stated that i would receive my 75 dollars back, but it was never refunded. The frustration every day about when i would recieve my refund continued to be a constant fight. Chose Ox Car Care over Carshield and others due to the constant commercials on WDBO in Orlando during their normal broadcast day (Kilmeade, Erik Erickson, Hannity) and after a detailed sales call where it was emphasized by Brylin that all complex electronics including all LED screens, touch buttons, cameras, monitors, etc, I negotiated a 5 year/100,000 mile service contract with 2 years of maintenance for a reasonable $4200 for my 2019 Cadillac Escalade. I purchased this vehicle at a very good OTD price knowing it had a couple of electronics issues that I would rectify after the 1 month/1,000 break in period with Ox. After the month, I scheduled a service appointment and got an estimate. After waiting three plus days and countless hours on hold waiting to speak to a person, none of the complex electronics issues I had to resolve were covered. While on hold speaking to them, even their hold music/ads tout that all items are covered and all complex electronics are covered. They stick to the very minimal items explicitly listed in their contract and do not deviate. Unfortunately, you do not see the covered items until after you close the deal, almost like buying a timeshare. I chose Ox specifically for these complicated electronics items and am horribly disappointed with how they advertise to get you to close and the items they actually cover. I am not sure if this is common in this industry but I will try more trustworthy vendors like CarEdge or JM&A. Avoid Ox CarCare! The rating should be half a star at the most but I cannot get that to work and you have to leave at least one star at a minimum on Yelp. read more

They will quickly get you added as a policy holder and the moment you need to file a claim you get the run around. Calling claims gets you to a person just to put you into queue so the call handling will not be accepted as the high number that it actually is. You are then placed on a 10 min hold to be sent to a general Voicemail that no one ever answers back too. The operators who initially answer are rude and will transfer you without any concerns to your issues. Upon purchasing an extended warranty coverage, I spoke extensively with the representative Amilcar Archila in length, I was told A claim could not be filed for 30 days or 1000 miles. Unfortunately my car broke down and stopped in the middle of the road on the 30th day however at 1462 miles. 462 more miles then what was stated ( The 1000 miles) to me prior to buying into this scam. I purchased a 2014 Chevy Traverse Ls February 26, 2021. My car is very well maintained every 3000 miles a oil change is being done as required. I've NEVER had any issues with my vehicle. This is the first car I've purchased therefore I've done what it takes to maintain a healthy functioning vehicle! Again it's a 2014 used car! I can not foresee the future however I can be prepared. Hint reason for purchasing the extended warranty. It took 3 days to get my car towed, I had to use AAA to get my car home then had to wait until the weekend was over to get in touch with a person. Then had to go back and forth for 6 hours in order to get my car towed to a ASE certified shop. My car broke down Friday May 6th 2022 my car was not towed through Ox Car Care until that Monday May 9th 2022 at 3:41pm. My car is still sitting in the shop. Upon my vehicle being checked out. The alternator was gone, power steering, as well as the harmonic balancer. However due to the fact that so many things went wrong at one time it requires a special inspection to insure there were no pre-existing conditions. The car is 8 years old with previous ownership! No one has effectively communicated with me. Now I'm still waiting to see if the repairs are going to be covered. I called in after listening in to a commercial on the radio. I have an 08' Sentra with a good amount of miles on it. These sentras often have some sort of transmission issue down the line, so I just called in and explained my situation to the rep. Rep was willing to work with my budget and gave me a good deal. I called and canceled within 3 days and they told me I would be credited within 2 weeks back on my credit card. I received a bill in the mail for the monthly installment and they told me to ignore it. I am now 32 days later... no refund...
