Let me tell you...the Pan Roast Combo lives up to the hype. Very hearty and delicious. I chose a spice level 7 (out of 10) which had a nice amount of heat (a few tears, some snot dripping). I had slot points to burn, it was senior Wednesday when food is available at 1/2 points so to this Oyster Bar we did travel. It was busy so we had a short wait before a table became available. My wife ordered etouffee that, per the menu, included shrimp, crab and lobster. On the opposite side of the table cioppino was ordered. The Oyster bar is the one thing that i have to do each time i visit Las Vegas. I found Palace station to be too long a wait as they only have 18 seats or so. The wait can be around 2 hours in my experience. Instead i've learned to visit the other "Station" Casinos. Santa Fe Station, Texas Station and Sunset Station casinos. Texas and Santa Fe station casinos were closed due to covid at the time. So i made my way here to Sunset station. Unlike Texas and Santa Fe station locations, The Oyster bar location in Sunset station was located in the middle of the casino like Palace station but it was semi-walled off and not just a bar in the middle of the casino so that children were also allowed. I ordered the étouffée ($23) at a level 5 spice, it come with lobster, shrimp and crab. I thought the spice level was perfect for me, just enough heat to make it interesting but not enough to burn my mouth out. As always it was very tasty and flavorful. For reference, I tried my friends level 3 gumbo, basically had no spice. I think i like the étouffée better than the gumbo but not sure. The pan roast which seems to be most popular is too creamy for me. I like the bolder flavors of the gumbo and étouffée. Located in the Sunset Station casino, there was lots of parking. This location unlike Palace station allows children since its a restaurant not just a bar. Service was prompt and friendly. There are not as many seats as the Texas station or Santa Fe station locations but i waited less than 5 minutes for a seat. read more

Carbs on carbs because why the hell not. Fair warning: their spice levels are no punk. This place is very cool; you can watch them make your food. I had a bowl of gumbo and it was a lot of food, but it didn't taste like gumbo at all. The problem with this place is that they have a bunch of pre-made ingredients that they combine differently to make a bunch of different dishes. So they slap stuff into a pot to make gumbo, "pan roasts" and Jambalaya. My gumbo was a bit orange; there's no tomato in gumbo, so maybe the chef just used the wrong stuff. I suspect that every time you get the same thing here it will be a bit different. Also lots of rice and very cheap with the green onion; the balance of flavors in gumbo is important. Maybe I'm too picky but this is chowder house kind of food without real concern for the end product. read more

So I just published my review of the Santa Fe Station Oyster Bar. It was my first time eating oysters so of course 2 days later we decided to go again, but this time we took our talents to Henderson NV, and checked out the Oyster Bar at Sunset Station. Right off the bar, I can tell you that the Oyster Bar locations are very consistent with how the cook and serve your food. So having gone to the Santa Fe Oyster Bar just days before this trip, we already knew what to expect. This time we ordered a dozen of the oysters and decided to get peel and eat shrimp. The oysters came first. They had specialty oysters on the menu at this location, but we decided to get the basic oysters. They were very good, but could have been a bit better. Some of the oysters seemed small and shriveled compared to the ones I got at the Santa Fe location. After eating the oysters we wondered what happened to our shrimp. We expected to get a platter of cold, peel and eat shrimp. Instead we got a bowl of hot soup with shrimp in it. This meant we had to peel and eat hot shrimp, and while it was very unexpected, the soup and shrimp were so fire we did not care. I literally could not stop eating it and I took the remainder of the broth home to make rice or ramen or something with. It was too good to leave there. This location also has the cooking stations closer to the bar. We sat by the pan roast/gumbo station. The cooking was very impressive and added to the overall experience. Only knock is that I wish the server knew a little bit more about the specialty oysters. I probably would have ordered a dozen of those but he didn't convince me it was worth the extra cost. We are here often. Always a treat. This is not your average "basic" oyster bar. The service is amazing. Friendly and attentive. The food is quality. Pan roast with lobster is my favorite. It's similar to a soup/gravy with a rich taste with the lobster meat and rice on top. I would also say similar to a stew but richer in texture and taste. You will not be disappointed! Share the Caesar because it's huge ! What a great lunch or dinner date. I have tried other items on the menu and you can't go wrong. I am certainly stuck on what I like and end up craving it! First off, we've been coming to this place for years....sporadically bc some of us live here and some of us don't. The food was good, though the portions have changed a lot. You don't get as much as you used to, when ordering the pan roasts. Our issue this visit (9/1/24) was the manager. Our server, RJ, was very nice. The manager, dressed in all black, short woman with short cropped dark hair, was rude AF. We asked for little plates because they weren't provided after we were served our appetizers, and after asking us how many in a demanding tone, she gave them to us. We dared to ask for small crab cocktail forks, since our party of four planned to share the appetizer that came with one fork. The manager, with a blank, unfriendly face, sharply asked, "how many?" (there were 4 of us) and then handed them to us caustically. While we sat at the bar, she went to get rice for an order and when she found the container to be out of rice, she slammed the lid of the container and yelled at her crew. It's Labor Day weekend and she was likely stressed but her behavior made the experience very unpleasant. With so many great places to eat in Vegas, can you really afford such a poorly behaved manager? read more

The wait time is not bad at all compared to other locations, such as the one inside Palace Station. There were only two people in front of the line after 5 PM on weekdays. It heats up fast! Beautiful setting and great ambience. Tables are not as spacious, but at least there are chairs to set down your belongings. Great atmosphere. Staff was experienced and attentive. Excellent customer service, so we tipped good. You pay for what you want. We always dig the seafood house boiled options. Be willing to spend if you like these types of cuisines. Free sourdough breads with butter as starters. Lots of napkins provided. It's high quality flavors and ingredients inside the foods here. Louisiana Bouillabaisse, jambalaya, fresh oysters, gumbo, etc. Mussels and shrimps were fresh and huge! Loved the boiled red potatoes and corn on a cob too. It's the sauce that does the magic to the tongue! Food selections were all very good. We couldn't stop thinking about our next visit here, because we will eventually try everything else. Customers were all having a great time and you can see the chefs working live at the bar area in the center. It's a real open kitchen! Very cool! The food portions were extremely generous. Cashier filled up our glasses of water multiple times. They were all very friendly and welcoming. Never again...took the wife out for Valentine's Day and decided to give this restaurant inside Sunset Stations a try. The waitress was polite, but I believe she forgot about us and after waiting 30-45 minutes had to be reminded of what we ordered. Once the food arrived, it tasted like shrimp in watered down tomato sauce--probably rushed to cover up the fact she forgot about us, but just assuming. I think the theme is what attracts people, but the follow through just is not there--especially for the price. I am a really good tipper, but did not give my usual tip for great service, as it was lacking. This delivery of a poor customer experience is a reflection of management. read more

Oyster Bar's 400th Yelp review: Everyone needs to stay clear of this location (continue to frequent the other location at the other "Station" casino closer to the 15 freeway). They didn't have enough cooks and servers so the food took a little longer to be served. The Pan Roast here was a bit off, maybe too much wine? The Lobster Pan Roast had tons of lobster though, I finished mine off...good stuff. The raw gulf oysters were immediately shucked for us and were fresh! Good clam chowder. Decently good service. Our server at the bar with the tattoos was pretty cool. It was probably the lack of the overall staffing here that made it slow. Wasn't the servers and cook's fault. We got seated immediately and the food took some time to come put but everything was delicious. The portions were huge and I had another full serving for leftovers the next day. After the not as positive of an experience as it could be at PK's Oyster Bar and not waiting to wait in the long lines at Palace Station, we drove to Oyster Bar at Sunset Station, after spending part of the afternoon in Bolder City. This location not only has bar seating but also tables to accommodate additional patrons! No wait to be seated - ding, ding, ding! This Oyster Bar appears to be housed in a cave and created some ambiance. The menu is very similar and has many of the standard Oyster Bar options if you are accustomed to Palace Station. We order two bowls of New England clam chowder and a dozen charbroiled oysters, since we love the chargrilled oysters from New Orleans. We were informed that pan roast orders accounted for ~85% of the orders at this location. Given the pan roast at PK's and the gumbo debacle there (see my review), we opt'd to go a different route since this wasn't intended to be a full meal, just more late afternoon snacking. The clam chowder is the bee's knees - so darn rich and buttery, with a generous amount of clams. I'd definitely get again. The charbroiled oysters were good but not great - while one of the chef's indicated they were made with garlic, butter and parmesan cheese, just like they do in NOLA, these did not stand up, despite being very large oysters. They were fresh and we think that perhaps it was the parmesan that was throwing things off (too much or perhaps they use a different type of parmesan). Service was solid and friendly! We'd definitely return and get the pan roast and gumbo next time! read more

I know that they always say that the Palace station location is the best one and coming here I would definitely agree. The dishes just don't have the same flavor and presentation as the one at Palace station. I guess it's kinda unfair to compare the two but everyone does. The service was up to par. Got seated quickly, got waters quickly, got food relatively quick. Ordered the usual things on the menu, bouillabaisse spicy level 8 with pasta on the side. Definitely not even close to spicy level 5. Also got this Cajun shrimp appetizer which we've never got before. Very salty but really spicy. So we took the sauce of that and poured it in our bouillabaisse which added more flavor to the dish. Probably will stick to going to palace station just have to figure out when the perfect time to go without the crazy lines. read more

Great food for a quick nosh. Staff has lost its luster over the years for sure, but if you ignore them they ignore you! A few options but fun to watch them cook in those steamy pots. Fantastic! I've gone to the one at Palace Station which is amazing but I will make the drive to this one just because of the wait time. My favorite so far is the Alaskan clam chowder. We got there around 10 and they close at 11, perfect. There was a sign that said seat yourself so we found a cute high top table towards the back. Our server came over right away and took our drink orders. When he came back a few moments later with our waters, we ordered a dozen oysters on the half shell and steamed mussels. Another server came over with some bread rolls, they turned out to be sourdough. They were warm and served with butter and delicious. I love bread! Maybe five minutes later our food arrived. The oysters were large, which sometimes scares me cause they can be too fishy and chewy. These, were not. They were perfect, juicy, sweet and tender, not chewy at all. The accompanying horseradish/cocktail sauce was tasty but the oyster was definitely the star of the show. The steamers were perfect and large as well. The sauce was so good we got a second order of rolls just for that. When we were done with those we decided on an order of the oysters and shrimp. It came with 4 jumbo shrimp and 4 oysters on a half shell. Just enough for the both of us to have another taste. The shrimp were good too, not over cooked or chewy. After dinner we both craved desert and neither of us have ever had bananas foster before. It was soo good. The sauce was a maple syrup type of sauce and the bananas went well. They served it with vanilla ice cream and we both enjoyed it a lot. For the price I paid, service we received and the quality of food we ate, it was worth every penny. I usually visit the palace station location as Bob is my fave chef over there, however this time my minor aged daughter came with me, so we couldn't go to the PS location. I must say, the flavor of this pan roast has really improved and is a lot closer in flavor to the PS location. I was more than satisfied. There was no line when we came, you could tell though that they were short handed like most restaurants. Tables weren't able to be bussed and cleared for the next patrons coming in. This small restaurant in Sunset Station is set inside a manmade grotto, and the bar seating encircles the chef's station, so you can watch all the kitchen action, which is fun. As the name implies, it's a seafood restaurant, with a cajun/southern flair. The food is fantastic- I had a shrimp cocktail with deliciously fresh and cold jumbo shrimp, followed by a Manhattan clam chowder (they also have New England style). My husband ordered jambalaya and was asked about preferred spice level- he went with "upper side of medium" and says it was the perfect choice (he enjoys very spicy food). Entrees are around $20, appetizers about half that, and a bread basket is provided.
