I find the prices for both food and drinks reasonable and the portion sizes are HUGE. I have yet to finish my meal in one sitting. I had the house gumbo this time and while it was good, it was kind of bland, which is unlike other dishes I've had there before. However, it was LOADED with lobster and shrimp so I was very happy about that. My wife and I love the Oyster Bar in Las Vegas at Palace Station but don't like the wait time of 1 to 2 hours. So we decided to try the one in Henderson at Sunset Station Hotel. So very happy we did! One of the perks of eating here is if you have a child, they can also eat here. They have a bar area that you can sit down to eat or you can be seated at the tables in the restaurant. The service was excellent. The ambience was great and the food was so so good! The oysters were nice and fresh, the beer was nice and cold and the pan roast combo was delicious! Our visits to Oyster Bar continue to be very enjoyable. The pan roasts, clam chowder, Caesar salad, Mediterranean salmon, and raw oysters are outstanding. For our entrees we ordered: House Gumbo $30.99 Was served with shrimp, lobster and crab (spice level 1) on the bland side with a hint of creole flavoring. Estoffee $27.99 Slight tomato taste that was very well put together however not your traditional estoffee but pretty good. Jambayla was spiced at a 3 level had very good flavor (Favorite dish of the night) $27.99 Mediterranean Salmon $20.99 Salmon was under seasoned topped with tomatoes, basil and capers. If you can't make it to Palace Station or have kids like we did on our visit, this is an awesome option to still get the amazing steam kettle goodness. Our wait wasn't too bad and they actually have tables unlike the bar only seating at PS. The food was just as good as the PS Oyster Bar with a more comfortable setting and less wait time. The staples for us are still the Pan Roast and Etouffee. The flavors and everything was on point and the staff was friendly and accommodating with our kids. Everything worked out well on our visit. Surprisingly this oyster bar is really good. Most oyster bars in the station casinos are just a bar and a long line out the casino floor. U shaped bar with a couple of tables around the bar. Exterior is very unique, a rock sea formation made to feel like you are at sea and interior lighting is very moody with clam seashell sconces on the wall. I ordered the Linguine and Clams with white sauce pasta. Very light but yet flavorful. My boyfriend ordered the Louisiana Seafood Boil (House Boil (Mussels, Clams, Shrimp) this was a big platter. No, not the other one. Oyster Bar is a generic name that is used by different restaurants all over, even in one not-quite-affiliated business on the Strip. However, locals and visitors alike revere the one at Palace Station, which is renowned for both its food and its lines. There are also related Oyster Bars in other Station Casinos properties, including this outpost at Sunset Station. I'd previously avoided going here because I'm with the consensus that Palace Station is the best, but this was a far more convenient option tonight. Bar seating was still available during peak dinner, and I sat right in front of the cook and watched him dance between the steam kettles. My go-to order back at Palace Station is the Combo Pan Roast ($24.99), so of course it had to be my point of comparison here. Frankly, it was mostly as good as I've ever had it. We'll call it in the 85-90% range if you want a number. It's pretty much the same creamy tomato sauce and perfectly cooked shrimp + crab + lobster in every bite, and a modest scoop of white rice. I'm actually wondering if the intangible difference is from getting hungry while waiting in line. My one specific minor quibble was that the spice level of 3 was milder than even my sensitive palate was looking for. Shrimp and Lobster Fra Diavolo ($24.99) was pretty good too, although they kinda misentered the order with a blank instead of a spicy level. That meant that we were only getting garlic and tomato flavor, plus perhaps some spices, but not any of the requisite heat. The proteins and the linguine were cooked nicely at least. I also got to try a bit of the Linguine and Clams ($19.99) with white sauce. Well, I tasted the sauce mostly. Very buttery with a light lemony flavor. I also nibbled on some of the diced bits of clam that had soaked up that sauce, and they were pretty tender. The oysters were solid too. The standard gulf oysters were plump and went well with the cocktail sauce. I actually preferred the special of the day, kushi oysters. They're a smaller but sweeter variety, and a few drops of lemon juice was sufficient for these to shine. And the complimentary sourdough rolls were fine. The Oyster Bar at Sunset Station is a great choice for Henderson dining. I do have to rate it lower than the legendary Oyster Bar at Palace Station, but I enjoyed this spot a lot. And if you were curious, they do accept Station Casinos' reward points for payment. read more

Last minute, I decided to get pan roast since I've been craving it. I chose this location because it's close to my house. I showed up at 11:15pm, yesterday. They close at midnight. It was not busy. Two tables left. Yes, it's close to closing, but, does that excuse the cook for making my food shitty? I took it to go. Great for a pinch if you don't want to wait long at Palace Station. We normally go to that one (who always claim they have nothing to do with this place) but we actually live much closer to Sunset Station and sometimes we don't want to wait 2+ hours for food. So, we walked in around 6 pm on a Sunday, and was seated right away. While the restaurant was busy, there were parties coming and going so that the wait times were zero or very short. It helps that they have actual tables as opposed to the limited bar seating in Palace Station. Although we were seated immediately, we waited about 10 min before anyone talked to us. I flagged down a waitress and asked her if she could take our order, and she pointed me to one of the chefs and said he would take care of that. Our experience with the service is the only complaint I have. The chef who eventually came to take our order seemed to be very annoyed. Since you can see them cooking everything in front of you, I also noticed his hygiene was not up to kitchen standards in a restaurant. Specifically, his use of gloves and touching "dirty" surfaces (like someone's check) then food with the same pair. I was a little frustrated by his demeanor and lack of proper hygiene. That being said, the food was good. We ordered a combo pan roast and an etouffee. Both were flavorful and packed with seafood. This location doesn't have the bouilla-roast or dirty chowder we love at Palace Station, but the menu offers a few different options instead, like a pan roast with seafood, chicken, and andouille sausage, or a Louisiana seafood boil. We didn't try those, but we did see some orders go out to other diners and they looked delicious. The oysters looked fantastic as well. Food is for sure 5/5. Overall, I would come back to fix a craving. I think the bar in Palace Station is better, but the pan roast I had here was still very yummy. read more

Adrian our cook was the rudest guy ever. I informed him that our pan roast shrimp and lobster tasted not fully cooked. He then proceeded to give us attitude that it was fully cooked and that's impossible. The shrimp was semi-gray still and all we asked was to heat it up a little longer. Service - this bar has actual tables, not just bar tables which was great. There was also NO WAIT, and that's amazing tbh. Already high on the list! Food - We got a dozen oysters and a pan roast... pan roast was amazing as expected. At this oyster bar, they do put the rice in the bowl with the pan roast, which was different from the Oyster Bar at Palace Station. I would order it to be in a separate bowl next time. My auntie got the Gumbo which was actually really good. A little too salty, but the flavor was amazing. We just asked for extra rice and it was better! Only downside is, if you are a tourist & you aren't driving you have to take a taxi / uber to Sunset Station, and since it's in Henderson, it was about a 20-25 minute drive away. Taxi cost me $75! I would suggest taking an uber which only cost me about $30, but I would only recommend Sunset Station Oyster Bar for tourist if they have a car.
