We had another steak to try too, but don't remember the name. Both was delicious and had nice service. This is in the Fairfax Corner Shopping Center, so plenty of parking spot. read more

The bartender Sara was rude from the beginning and made us feel unwelcome. We came in for celebratory drink on behalf of her engagement. Within one beverage she decided to cut us off with no warning. Her only remark was we were too loud. She didn't go through the channels of asking us to quiet down instead gave my friend the stop sign hand and ignored her. We asked to speak to a manager who handled things in a professional manner with compassion and concern. Although the bitter taste that Sara left is hard to ignore. As two gar stars this is not the service or expectation that we are used to. There were many avenues she could have pressured after just one drink but chose the most aggressive approach. I haven't been to Ozzie's despite living close to Mike's, so this was definitely a no brainer when I suggested to my friends we should check it out. On a busy Friday night we did not hesitate at all and made the trip. Ozzie's is bright with it's neon lit sign and decor all around, and when walking in it's not too dimly lit. It's not too loud but there is a lot of activity going on with servers/runners running around. Busy friday. We had a reservation on Resy and we were scheduled to dine in at 8 PM and it went smooth. No waits, we waltz right in and we were immediately sat to our table after checking in with the hostess up front. Our server came by, gave us a pitcher of water and we started to look at our menus. Since it was my friend's first time at a GAR restaurant, I suggested we get the Ozzie's rolls because why not? It's a staple and despite the 1$ price point I would still order at least twice.. maybe thrice if I was feeling really hungry. That came out and they were so delighted to have tasted such a great roll to start off with. If the rolls were not good I'd been embarrassed. I wasn't keen on getting the steak because that's my go to order everytime I'm at Mike's. The Filet Mignon is a classic pick but not today for me. I got the Ozzie's Brick Chicken which consisted of wood grilled boneless half chicken with mashed potatoes and grilled broccolini. A solid pick for someone's who's been more health conscious lately. When that came out I was delighted to eat it, adding salt/pepper for taste and pretty much digging right in. My friend's got the Prime Rib and they liked it alot, especially since it was blackened. The chicken was grilled to perfection, mashed potatoes was soft and creamy, with the juices from the chicken added more flavor to it, and the broccolini was not overly too hard to chew and was easy to bite without feeling it was solid as a rock. I enjoyed it. While I didn't get dessert ( I was full ), I would mention that the Warm Flourless Chocolate Waffle is a great option to get. It's warm but with the mix of cold vanilla ice cream, it's a great balance! read more

I was very impressed by Ozzie's. I made a reservation here for a birthday lunch. Great food, friendly service, and I like the overall ambiance of the restaurant. Our party of 4 started with the breadbasket, which included several types of bread. We had two children in our party, so they ordered from the kids menu....which is pretty much some version of the regular dish but about a third of the price. The Salmon dish was a little underwhelming, but good overall. Maybe add some greens to the plate? Tried some of my friend's Tuna Salad and it's worth mentioning. Good dining experience. Kudos to the Chef. Food is always good but lately it appears management is encouraging wait staff to flip tables and rush people out. The last three times we visited no sooner we got our plates various wait staff kept circling our tables to clear out plates. Every 4 minutes the waiter interrupted us not to offer refills bit to ask to remove plates while we were still EATING! Very annoying and probably wont be back. For dinner and drinks tonight at Ozzie's, I was served a generous helping of attitude with a side of frustration. The bar was being tag-teamed by a man and a woman; the drinks themselves were fine, but unfortunately the service was anything but. The female bartender/server was consistently rude to customers, myself included, as if basic courtesy was an unreasonable request. I ordered my steak medium well (12/29). What arrived was so underdone that blood was literally running into my mashed potatoes. I debated taking a photo but didn't want to turn dinner into a spectacle. When I calmly pointed this out, the server tapped her screen, told me the steak was "as ordered," and proceeded to confront me instead of, you know, listening. I explained that I placed the order with her teammate and that I most definitely did not order a rare steak. This seemed to irritate her far more than the fact that my plate looked like a crime scene. She offered to throw it back on the grill, but I asked for a new steak. She stormed off without an apology, explanation, or even a hint of sincerity--definitely not the level of service I'd expect from a restaurant of this supposed caliber in Fairfax Corner. She conveniently never came back to check in afterward. By the time my replacement steak finally arrived, my friends were already finished eating, and I had to box most of it up because we were out of time. Nothing says "great dining experience" like eating alone and rushing. There are plenty of other restaurants within walking distance that manage to serve food and basic respect. I rarely write reviews, but this experience earned one. The lone star I'm giving is for the clean restroom--easily the most pleasant part of the evening. read more

I have heard good things about this place so we came to check it out. It was a Wednesday evening so it was not to packed. We waited by the large bar near the entrance for our group. The waiter guided us to the back for our table. I started off with a Bourbon Smash. I did not enjoy it. It was mostly ice with a little bit of alcohol. I decided to go with the Perfect Margarita as well which was much better. For food I ordered the Lobster and Shrimp Fra Diavolo. It was packed with flavor and large pieces of shrimp. The lobster was a decent portion but of course I would have loved more. The staff was very attentive and helped us with the end of the meal. This is one of the better restaurants in this area. The interior and ambiance is very nice and you won't find loud tables. This is actually a nice first date spot if you have a few extra dollars in your pocket. I've been here twice and have only had the chicken parmigiana, which is solid. Service was pretty good. Only issue is the parking, which can be very very very bad within immediate walking distance. Do yourself a favor by parking in the nearby garage and walk the extra distance. read more

We came here for Mother's Day brunch right when they opened and they were able to seat us! The restaurant filled up quickly shortly after. The ambiance was very lively and staff were friendly. I got the Charleston Salad and it was truly the best salad I've ever had - the buttermilk fried chicken and pecans were so delicious. I can handle my steaks medium, but I can't handle ground beef undercooked. We were practically finished eating by the time the waitress checked to see "how everything was". They brought the delicious Ozzie rolls ( I can't eat them for my diet but I've eaten them many times before and I know them beet roll! They are little naughty devils ! Lol ) Then my Cesar salad was more than amazing! I really haven't taste that deliciousness of a Cesar salad since a while ago!! I forgot to ask but it's definitely made in the house and taste like the authentic way! I would never think about adding Capers and black olives in my Cesar salad but that was a very nice touch from them and I really loved it! My Drunken Ribeye steak was phenomenal ! Very juicy and cooked to perfection with the right amount of fat in the steak! Wonderful! The broccolini was also well seasoned!! Mmm somebody here cares about the little details ;) I love their 1950's NewYork City ambiance! Love it! The waiter was very nice! This was my second time at Ozzie's. I love this chain of restaurants. I always get the Ozzie rolls and the warm white chocolate bread pudding at the any of the chain restaurants I go to. The crazy lasagna is a messy version of a lasagna with a meatball added. The dish was appetizing but I would have preferred a regular lasagna. My family and I randomly stopped by this place one evening during the recent storm after we played an escape room nearby. We were pleasantly surprised by the food we ate there. I've eaten at Ozzie's multiple times and I even had my dad's mercy meal here. The food and service has always been amazing. The waitress was very friendly. We ordered a basket of rolls raisin bread which were not even warm much less hot. We waited for our flat bread for more than 30 minutes and it was cold. I called for a manager and he apologized and said he would make another one. As he walked away our salads came out, so I cancelled the flatbread. Although the manager said they wouldn't bring out our dinners until after our salads and flatbread. Thankfully the chicken parm's were delicious. We were able to snag a table without a reservation for lunch on a Saturday. The place is quite expansive and gives old money vibes. The two of us were seated in a large booth and had plenty of table space for apps and meals. The salmon had a delicious smokey flavor and the Louisiana pasta tasted better than cheesecake factory's in my opinion. The portions were a tad small for the price though when, once again, compared to cheesecake factory's. So this restaurant is part of the Great American Restaurants chain, which includes other local spots like Coastal Flats and Sweetwater Tavern. I came here twice recently including for my birthday specifically so I could have some limoncello martinis on my birthday and it did not disappoint! $9.50 / martini seems like a steal in this area. The food was decent although if you're familiar with their other restaurants, the menu is maybe 90 percent the same. Today I came alone and sat at the bar. Johnathon greeted but another woman took my order about 10-15 minutes later. There were maybe 5 people behind the bar total. . I understand dining at the bar can result in slower or faster service depending on the time of day. I ordered a lemonade and calamari. I had every intention on ordering an entree but no one came to check on me. The calamari was just OK. It was lukewarm, not very crispy but I loved the sauces it comes with. The lemonade was great! I would normally say it's an after work rush, but the staff behind the bar made suggestions and checked on other patrons near me (even those that arrive after me.) Always great food & service. Have been going there for years. Love their appetizers, especially their arancini which is more tasty than some Italian restaurants serve. I'd come for that alone. Their steaks are delicious, as well as one of my favorites - their crispy chicken sandwich. Their chop salad has it all & is large enough to share. Even their burgers are excellent. I don't know how anyone cannot like The Great American Restaurants. I can never get enough of their chain. Always have amazing meals here. This was my first time at this restaurant. It definitely has a majority of their staple dishes from all the other chain, but in addition, with this location leans towards that Italian style. They have dishes that you don't see at other locations such as more variety of pasta and flatbreads. The decor and vibe of the restaurant is also very Little Italy feel. They start you off with their popular basket of bread, my absolute favorite as well as I'm sure everyone else, the Ozzie Rolls! Soft fluffy goodness and the honey butter that comes with it is just absolutely perfect balance. Since this is a Italian theme restaurant we had to go with their pasta. We ordered their Crazy Lasagna. WOW! It was so good, so flavorful, full or marinara goodness. I love that it was not a traditional lasagna. It came with pappardelle noodles, tomatoes, ricotta, Bolognese, Provolone, and meatball. I love the thick Papperdelle noodles, you get the combination of the bolognese and meatball , both so rich and flavorful. Then you get the awesome ricotta and provolone cheese to balance the entire dish out. We also ordered a dish I've had in the past but loved so much. The Sautéed Filet Mignon Tips pasta. It comes with a tequila lime cream with penne noodles. Topped with bell peppers and red onions. This dish is so amazing with a lighter feel. Awesome flavors!
