My husband recommended this new Denham Springs spot to me based on a great lunch experience. I have to echo his opinion, it was a great choice! We came on a busy Friday evening yet it didn't take long to be seated. Upon seating we were greeted fairly quickly and decided to order the chicken wings for an appetizer. I can't remember the name of the flavor of sauce now but it wasn't the buffalo flavor (I believe there's only two flavors to choose from). They were delicious! Cooked to order so they were hot and ready to be devoured! As for our entree we decided to split a burger. That was also yummy with the cheese all melty and the burger cooked as asked. We also decided to partake in some spirits, to which the bartender was great about customizing a blueberry type lemondrop for me. The only thing I wish was better was that the waitress was a little friendlier. She wasn't rude, she just could've made the whole experience a little better by being more personable. So we were looking for someplace new and we settled on P-Beau's. It's a pretty unassuming place, nothing fancy. Julie is an aficionado of Chicken and Sausage gumbo and she had a bowl here and loved it ate every bite! I had the double cheese burger and scarfed it down. As an appetizer we had chips and salsa, that was good too! Our waitress Layne was really fun made sure we had everything we wanted. I love that the food was fresh and hot when it got to the table. So, to start this is one of the few places that survived the flood. It has been my go-to spot (not because they don't carry ¢10 beers like everyone else) but because of the outstanding food, the atmosphere & the service stands out IMO..not to mention the unique weekly craft beers that they cycle through. Lail is ma girl, super sweet & friendly. She will take care of you. Everything here is good & its possibly one of the reasons why its so hard to choose anything. From Italian meatloaf to redfish lebeau to chicken fried steak, 10oz.steak, porkin nachos to the cubaneau, it will come down to what you are in the mood for that wets ya appetite. Would recommend the smoked trout dip & poutine for starters (I have been known to order several poutine platters-fries drizzled with rib meat gravy and cheese curds). The manager makes an attempt to get to know you & I just found out they show all the SEC sports so you know where to find me on Sat's. I'm so glad these guys are in town. Love their shuffle board,ping pong & corn hole..I couldn't design a place any better in the south. After having my God-given liberties forcibly violated for half a year by the Sith Lords running the People's Republic of California, any opportunity to get out of the house and live like a free American is a beautiful experience. Being able to sit at a table in a restaurant feels like seeing the Berlin Wall come down ― that's sad. Much of the enjoyment received from my recent meal at P-Beau's came from the mere fact I could eat there at all. The place is a sports bar-style "new American" restaurant with heavy Louisiana leanings. All of us at the table started with their excellent smoked chicken and sausage gumbo, which is nearly as good as our homemade version. (The $7.99 bowl is a much better deal than the $5.99 cup.) I had the chicken and waffles ($13.99), which was an all-around disappointment: The white meat chicken was flavorless, surrounded by nearly flavorless breading. Worse, the waffle arrived stone cold. It also came without butter; when I did get butter (not cold ― bonus points there), it didn't melt at all. When I mentioned it to the manager at the end of the meal, she offered to make me a new waffle. I declined, and she kindly took half off the price of the dish. My mom liked her fried shrimp, though she thought they had a strange spicing. (I tasted them, and think they may use shrimp boil seasoning in their breading.) My dad really enjoyed his fried oysters. (Oysters are disgusting, so I didn't try them.) Both really enjoyed the fries that came with their food. (I didn't see what was so special myself.) They have a good selection of Louisiana beers on tap and in cans and bottles, and service is very good. P-Beau's has a very suburban, family hangout feel; it's not really the type of place I look for, but then, I'm not in my regular area, and these aren't regular times. Our overall impression of P-Beau's? It was okay, a little hit-and-miss, maybe a bit overpriced, not necessarily a winner regarding atmosphere, but with good service. However........ our waiter apparently forgot to put in one of our parties food and it never came. He ended up not wanting his food due to time and the manager offered gumbo. I was driving along Bass Pro and I saw this new restaurant I haven't noticed before and it looked like it had potential so that made me turn into the plaza to go check it out. First impression the lighting and decor gave it a lovely very modern, Southern ambiance which I loved. I also liked the open kitchen. All of those factors set it apart from other places and made it more unique and charming. The restaurant and the bathrooms were very clean, like everything was to the T. Now for food, the menu offered a wide variety of appetizing food choices. I wasn't that hungry so I settled for the "Grown Up Grilled Cheese Soup" which is just grilled cheese and tomato basil soup. The sandwich was cooked perfectly and had just the right amount of toasted crunch and it was very fulfilling. The cheese was not too overwhelming either. I found the little pot that held the tomato soup in it to be quite adorable as well. My mom had the roasted chicken sandwich and it wasn't like your regular sandwich. For it being $10.99 for a sandwich and fries, I thought it was perfect and flavorful. The food came out in a reasonable amount of time as well. I saw that a lot of other reviewers complained about the prices on the menu, but I think that the price for the food is fair and from the impression I got, you do pay for what you get. The only complaint I have about P-Beau's is their limited dessert menu. However our waitress did inform us that they would be adding more which I am more than excited about. The restaurant had a little questionnaire that you filled out to rate what you thought of the decor, food, staff, cleanliness etc. I definitely appreciate the fact P-Beau's care about the customer's experience and are open to feedback. Okay. So delicious. My fiancé and I had an hour drive home and it was Friday night. At first we thought to go to a place we know, Walk-On's, but I decided to look on Yelp to see if they had anything new. This place looked good online so we decided to check it out. We were not disappointed AT ALL. Still has my tastebuds tingling honestly. He had the Double Prime 96 Steakhouse Bacon Burger-his words "It was A1!" I had the Char Grilled Chicken but replaced the Green Beans with Charred Brussels Sprouts (no up-charge) and it was . I wish I had room for the dessert because it looked scrumptious, but we were was so full. There is always next time though! This is a place i keep going back for the blackened beer burger. My first time when it came out i thought "my it's small" but after eating it and worked on the thin cut fries, i was very full! The burger had a good grill taste and had to cut it in half so i couldn't make a mess! When i'm in the mood for a burger this one comes to mind! We came for lunch at about 2:30 on a Tuesday. We were the only ones there because of the time. I've passed by many times when they were packed. I got a meatball sub, my boyfriend got a down home chicken sandwich, and my son got the grilled cheese. They all came with fries. The food came out fast, and my sub was pretty cold. But boyfriends food was hot. Everything looked great, and tasted great too. Couldn't get my kid to eat his grilled cheese so I ate it for him. The cheese was melted out of the sandwich and it made it crispy. Not very kid friendly. But he loved the fries. They were out of kid menus so he didn't get a chance to really look over his options. Our service was prompt and friendly. Got the lemon ice box pie for dessert. It was very tasty. My boyfriend and I enjoyed it. All together, we spent 35 dollars and left a tip of 15%. My dad always talks about how good this place is, so my wife and I decided to try it out. The waitress, food, and drinks were wonderful! When you recommended this place to friends because normally it is great and the experience was horrible due to the waitress. She kept disappearing and had to get the attention of other workers to get anything. By the time the manager checked on us we still had not received our food. Finally got our meal and it was cold. I was invited to a party that was taking place in a side room that I was told is used for chef trainings and cooking demos, but looks like it can definitely be used for private parties. The chairs and tables in there were beautiful! There is a nice patio area with ping-pong tables and seating. Inside is very roomy, an open kitchen and shuffleboard. Food wise, I was able to try the poutine, fish and chips, chicken wings and adult grilled cheese. The poutine left something to be desired, but I loved the short-rib meat; however, I wish there was more a stand-out presence by the cheese curds. I loved that they used cod for the fish and chips, but wish it was beer-battered (not corn meal) - oh well! My plate of adult grilled cheese and the cup of tomato basil soup was my absolute favorite dish!! Wow, now that was tasty! Chicken wings were a great filler, too! I highly recommend this restaurant. The inside of this place is really neat. We started off with the cheese chips & they were ok- My fiancé doesn't like balsamic so I had to do without the drizzle. You could tell the chips were home made but I felt like they got super soggy fast from the smooth cheese sauce. The whole reason we came here is because I saw chicken fried steak on the menu. My fiancé and I both ordered the same thing. It comes with potatoes, cheese, gravy, and 2 huge fried chicken breast. Unfortunately I'm more of the type of person who likes mashed potatoes and gravy in every single bite with the chicken. There wasn't many mashed potatoes especially for me to have a little bit with every single bite. The 2 chicken breast were almost overwhelming for the plate. Like I needed a second plate to put one of the chicken breast on before I actually started to eat. You get a lot of food for price I just like my food portioned differently. It was okay but almost tasted like a frozen patty. The fries were too hard and brown. My son got the kids chicken tenders with fries. He enjoyed his chicken but said his fries were too hard. My fiancé and I came here today for lunch for the first time! I had been itching to try this place just based off of the photos on their page. I had tomato basil soup as an app and my fiancé had the red beans .... HANDS DOWN , THE ABSOLUTE BEST RED BEANS / RICE AND TOMATO BASIL IVE EVER HAD !! For entree I had a cheese pizza , AMAZING! Young, inexperienced servers who could care less about hospitality. Always dirty inside with dirty empty tables and restrooms. Once new management took over a few months back everything, literally everything, went downhill. The food has gotten sloppy and the service is shockingly bad. If you're looking for good quality food and superb service to match, P-Beaus is not the place. It's sad that they've let it fall apart. The last time I was in there we saw flies flying everywhere, servers were standing in a crowd cutting up and ours didn't even come to our table but maybe twice in the hour we were there. In the food desert that is Ascension and Livingston parish, finally something modern. This is a welcomed change from the familiar standard issue Cajun restaurants that have been serving the same fried seafood for the last 30 years. The menu consist of modern cuisine with a Louisiana vibe. I had the fish tacos and stir-fry green beans both are superb. They have 10 different craft brews on tap and wonderful cocktails that are made fresh. The restaurant has stylish and casual contemporary feel. The staff was knowledgeable, quick and personable.
