I never have left a review, but our experience was so horrible I would hate for anyone else to pay for this experience. There were so many fruit flies flying around our table flying in and out of all the soy sauce dishes. The server just said "ya it's fly season". It's not fly season and these are fruit flies. She just shrugged her shoulders. We were going to leave, but our food came out just as we were going to leave so we stayed and the food was awful, cold and undercooked. We LOVE PF Chang's. My son learned how to use chopsticks at PF Chang's where we lived in TX when he was 4. Soooo we love PF Chang's. I was so irritated and disgusted with the service we received this evening at the Boise locatio! Jason was NOT attentive at all, although he was very very attentive to his 2 neighboring tables, taking photos of one group and offering parking validation and TOGO drinks to the other table. However, He never brought my husband the sweetener he requested when ordered his iced tea! He took our order and never came back to check on us! Before Our meal was served he placed a dessert menu on our table. He came by again a few minutes later to check on us and and to ask if we needed TOGO boxes as we were clearly still eating. I am not a complainer but I really, really am so disappointed in one of favorite restaurant. I normally stick with some kind of spicy chicken, but I noticed for the first time they had Pad Thai so I figured I would try it. Despite being turned away yesterday one hour before the posted closing time on the door, it sounded better than other options so I went back by. Should have stuck with my standard order. I actually hadn't eaten here in a long time, and recently got a gift card from a friend...so we decided to do a date night. The atmosphere is fine, and the staff is friendly. Half assed Asian fusion at full assed prices. Menu- For as tiny a menu as they had, I was very much expecting at least good food for a chain restaurant. Food was Asian/American fusion with lots of sweet glazes and promises of spice in some dishes. Dishes were hip and fancy in name only. A fancy facade seemed to be the theme of the evening. More on that later. Restaurant- It's a PF Chang's, the interior is very nice, but the cheap utensils and low quality alcohol behind the bar betrays the ultra modern decor; this was a premonition of our meal. Food-Crap. Absolute crap. Over $100 worth of food and half of it had to be sent back. The rest was cold and unseasoned, but the kids ended up eating it because they're kids: Avoid the dumplings. They're bagged and frozen and NOT dumplings. We were served wontons. You can't piss on my head and tell me it's raining. My chicken was dry and coated in a sickly sweet glaze that was advertised as spicy. My wife's bulgolgi steak was overdone and tasted like it was freezer burnt. The texture was tough and grainy. No effort to season any dish beyond the in-the-bag heated sauces was made. As for the ramen...... utter garbage. How many raw cherry tomatoes did they need to ladle in there?? Who puts raw cherry tomatoes in a bowl of ramen????? Service- Servers give zero ducks with a few being absent at opening time leaving the rest of the staff hopelessly overburdened. Even when that is the case, don't complain to us about it. Management made no effort to pace the seating so orders stacked up in the kitchen under the heat lamps. We were seated with a good view of the kitchen and cooks were holding plates of food to immediately replace those being sent out by the reduced wait staff. Management made zero efforts to remedy this issue. The theme was push the food out as fast as possible with no regard to the wait staff not keeping up with the cooks. Someone should have had the foresight to remedy this if management wasn't but everyone seemed focused on their job and not how it might affect others. Overall- PF Chang's is yet another crumbling monument of the "hip chain" restaurants of the last decade. Cheap food, cheap alcohol and uniform flavor brought in freezer trucks daily. Got PF Chang's deliv by Door Dash a few nights ago. I was pleasantly surprised. We ordered Chang's Chix, Beef & Broc, Chix Fried Rice & Veg spring rolls. There was enough food for four people. The main dishes were tasty and not overly greasy. I think Chang's Chix is their version of General Tso's chicken. It was a bit spicy and sweet. I'd order again. The cuts of Chix and beef were very good and tender. White Chix meat (not dark or thigh meat like some places). The spring rolls were ok, a bit oily. The sauce was the same or similar to Chang's Chix and much better than traditional mustard or s/s sauce. read more

Once again I just wasn't impressed by the food here. We enjoyed the atmosphere and service was fine, but the food left so much to be desired. We started with the avocado spring rolls. I was expecting a flash-fried spring roll with chunks of fresh avocado, but instead we received sliced spring rolls stuffed with hot guacamole. I mean, come on, hot guac? Ick. they were devoid of flavor aside from the orange honey dipping sauce. For my entree I had the shrimp in lobster sauce. It was gelatinous with no flavor aside from salt. My wife and I are in Boise for a business meeting. We decided we would like some good chinse food. We love the P.F. Chang's in Utah by where we live. The P.F. Chang's in Boise is by far the worst one we have visited. We paid over $100.00 with tip. The food was okay but not what you would expect from a chain like P.F. Chang's. Save your money and eat at one of the other many other restaurants in Boise. It is sad as the only issue is the staff. Hokien Noodles. I have had this dish at Changs numerous times. Tonight however I received four shrimps and one piece of chicken. I even asked for extra shrimp because I planned on bringing leftovers home. They served it with the teeny tiny salad shrimp which wasn't how I received it in another city. It really doesn't bother me that much, but, what bothers me is to know that other pe who can only afford to go out once every month or every two months could get ripped off as bad as this. I could chill because it was only an over to one side and there were things in there that should not have been in there such as mayonnaise looking substance. They gave me a replacement however by the time they brought it the rest of my party was already finished and ready to leave. They gave me a to go bag. I'm afraid to open it. I was coming to the serving staff because I am sure it was not their fault. Let me just start off and say.... PF Chang's is MY FAVORITE place. The Boise manager is always on top of his game, and has been there for a long time. He does a great job. The newer and younger servers are not the same story sadly. I'm sure they are learning, but they were far under par. We came in for my 30th birthday (whoop) and the service was almost embarrassing. I brought friends who hadn't really dined at PF Chang's and I found myself trying to cover for the waiter.... like saying.... hmm this place usually is on its game... this is not normal..... this is not usually how it is.... etc. C'mon really?!? No dinner plates were served... we were all eating off appetizer plates for our main meal (asked twice for larger plates). No soy sauce was brought.... found some from another server. Hardly any water refills..... just really poor!! Anyways..... just a note to the manager- you do an amazing job but some young hires need to step it up! NEEDS TO BE 0 STARS!!!!! The waiter was argumentative and unattentive from first start with not wanting to give menus. The service was with attitude, rolling eyes and huffing when asking for anything from chopsticks, soy sauce or to reheat the lukewarm served wonton soup. The waiter was reluctant to take back the wonton soup and made an excuse that "The kitchen only serves the soups and meals at 100 degrees so they don't burn anyone." THIS IS NOT TO FOOD SAFE HANDLING PRACTICES, IT SHOULD BE HELD AT 165!!! The portions have become small, food served warm at best, NOT HOT!!! The Beef and Broccoli had way too much ginger in that's all you could taste. The Mongolian Beef was lackluster and chewy like Jerky. This was so disatifying and no wonder Boise PF Changs only had 4 tables tonite. The prices for the lack of quality and quantity are way overpriced. We used to love PF Chang's and they were always busy back in the day. We will definitely not return to Boise or any other PF Changs based on tonite's visit. read more

We had an awful experience on Christmas Eve. I had ordered our Christmas Eve carry out dinner online around 5:45pm, paid for it, and was told I could pick up the meal at 7:01pm. When I arrived at the restaurant, I entered the carry out line that was crowded with people. (If I contract COVID, this is probably where it happened.) When I finally got to talk to someone around 7:15, I was told that it might by "an hour or two" before our food came out. I asked for a refund. Today was a special day for my family, and I decided to take my children to PF Changs for the first time. We live 45 minutes away. They have heard me rave about the lettuce wraps for a couple years. However, I am sad to say that I have never been more disappointed in a meal, or the service. We ordered the chicken lettuce wraps and the chicken satay. When it arrived, the chicken satay was dry and tasted like there was dirt on it from an unclean grill. The chicken and other fillings in my lettuce wraps were burnt, and tasted like soap-as though someone didn't rinse after washing the pan. After 15 minutes of sitting there, unattended to by our waitress, I explained that I was not happy with my order and said that I did not want a replacement. Instead of coming back with my check, 7 minutes later I had a new plate of lettuce wraps come out which I then had to wait an additional 10 minutes for a box. I wasted all of that time, hungry, just to take it with me and throw it in the garbage- because that's what it tasted like at home, cold and soggy. I then was made to pay for the order of lettuce wraps (that I didn't want replaced, just removed from my bill) which were poorly prepared, as well as dirty satay. I also had to pay for my children and I to eat elsewhere, as we were again 45 minutes from home and HUNGRY! I wasted an hour, $28 at PF Changs, $2.50 for parking, and an additional $20 for an edible lunch immediately after leaving the restaurant. We went there to celebrate my sons after attending an ADA event. I am not convinced that they just didn't give me the same attention because I was dining with children. As someone who spent time in Hong Kong and ate real Chinese food compared with the fake Chinese served in the United States, I didn't have much confidence in P.F. Chang's chain offerings. And I wasn't disappointed. It was the first time I had ever been asked if we had reservations -- walking in at 4 p.m. on a Saturday. I wondered if all the tables were full at what I thought would not be a busy time. When we were escorted to our table for two, there were many empty tables throughout the restaurant. That seemed very odd to have been asked about reservations. After we were seated and given menus, we waited for 10 minutes and hadn't even been given a glass of water. After talking about that among ourselves, it was like they had hidden microphones. All of a sudden, a manager appeared from nowhere and apologized for the lack of attention. We ordered the four-course prix-fixe offering, with hot and sour soup, egg rolls, sesame chicken and Mongolian beef. The chicken had very little flavor and wasn't spicy at all, despite by the menu claim to the contrary. The beef, on the other hand, was quite good. This is the worst ever chinese food restaurant. I was excited to finally stop in am give it a try. My kids kept telling me we're eating frozen food. Took me a while to figure out they meant the frozen food from the grocery store for PF Chang. If I knew that before walking in..I would have never ate here. It's like they just unwrap their frozen food store boxes and microwave it! Fried rice had no taste, super dry and still had clumps of rice not broken down and it was hardly even warm. Look at the photo they post of their fried rice! Looks nothing like the Shrimp fried rove we got. Signature Lo Mein is so bland and noodles were cold. I had to ask for more sauce to mix into it. Mapo Tofu?! What a joke!! Where's the sauce? Fried Tofu and Brocolli?? Mangolian beef was the only thing that had some flavor. The server was nice and explained that you just won't find the real taste of Asia in the states since it's pretty obvious they cater to American tasting. Which I find to be horrible because most of them believe THIS IS WHAT Chinese dishes taste like. I give no stars if I could. Manager was nice enough to discount the total. read more

My favorite items on the menu: - Pork Dumplings (Pan Fried) - Changs Chicken Soup (Tomatoes 1/4) *BEST* - Shanghai Cucumbers - Ginger Chicken & Broccoli If you're a fan of good gin and tonics, try their fever tree tonic with the star anise. This time, we ordered the orange peel chicken (delish with just the right amount of heat) and the lemon scallops (drizzled in a delicate lemon sauce--very lovely). I ordered their organic agave margarita, which I love every time and love even more when it's during happy hour ($6!). My darling got their apple martini, which was a very sweet choice--a positive or negative depending on your perspective (it was very sweet to me...and I like sweet). Since they've opened in Boise couple years ago, we've eat there more times than we would like to admit. I know, I know, they are not authentic Chinese food. But there are couple dishes that really impressed me. Food: They just started a happy hour (3-6pm) of Dim Sum menu couple month ago, and we are a big fan of that! It is really hard to get good Dim Sum in Boise, and they do it pretty well. I don't really like their steamed dumplings, b/c the part that holds the dumpling together is always tough. Their Red-cooked pork, beef tacos are exceptional. Also their Tuna sushi thing was exceptional as well. My favorite dishes of their regular menus are: -Chengdu Spiced Lamb **5 stars(very tender lamb caramelized in the wok with the lamb's best companion cumin and mint, goes perfectly with a bowl of rice. This dish is best when it just comes out of the kitchen.) -Oolong Marinated sea bass **5 stars(very expensive dish $22.50, but definitely worth it, the Chilean sea bass is marinated in Oolong tea, then broiled to buttery perfection sitting on-top some lightly welted spinach) -Crispy green bean appetizer **5 stars(It is amazing to me that they can transform the humble green bean to such an additive snack, and the cream sauce with a little kick takes this dish to another dimension) I will say though not all the dishes I've had are great: -the side Green Tea Noodles **2.5(too oily), -Peppered Steak **3(sauce too simple, meat was kind tough), -Hot Fish **2.5(deep fried fish and sauce wasn't very good) Atmosphere: The famous horse is in the front of the restaurant, it's very impressive. When I walk in the restaurant, there is a huge Chinese painting above the bar area. The place is dim and stylish, which is a great place for dates or special occasion. It's pretty funny, when I was younger and clueless about girls, me and a college buddy went there for dinner, and then we found out it was Valentines day, so yeah, it didn't look very good. Note to self... Don't go ANYWHERE in downtown Boise on prom night!!! Haha We did sit outside on the patio and enjoyed watching all of the beautiful dresses pass by. The restaurant was absolutely packed both inside, outside and the bar. I do believe that I'm they lost a star or two for abnormal circumstances. So let me just state right now that our server did a fabulous job! When the overhead heating malfunctioned the manager personally came out and apologized and offered to move our table. They also took one of the dishes off our bill because they forgot the cashews. We were definitely satisfied with the service and they were busting their butts with a packed house. My daughter had pad Thai with shrimp and she ate almost the entire dish. She said it was a little spicy but she really liked it. My highlights of the night were chicken lettuce wraps and the crispy honey shrimp. I don't think you can ever go wrong with those lettuce wraps... They're probably the most popular thing on the menu. I also went out on a limb and tried the white tangerine tea. I'm usually a peppermint type of gal but this was a pleasant surprise. A week ago we ordered delivery from PF Chang's to be delivered at 6:00pm. When it didn't arrive by 6:20 we called to see what the delay was. We we're told the delivery was scheduled for 7:00. That was false and a mistake on their fault but the food arrived a bit after 7. Tonight another delivery order was made for 7:00 and the food AGAIN was late an hour and didn't arrive until 8. PF Chang gets a F for consistently horrible delivery service. We won't be ordering or going to PF Chang's in the future. read more
