My husband and I have had P.F. Changs before in Colorado Springs and this was our second time eating here. Last time I remember really loving it, so I was exited to try out this new location in Grand Rapids near Knapp Corner. We went for lunch, and were seated right away. We decided to start the meal with spring rolls and they were delicious as I figured they would be. They weren't greasy at all, just light, flaky, crunchy and yum. I decided to try the almond & cashew chicken. I wanted to try something that you could get at a food court, or other "chinese" restaurant to see the difference. It didn't even compare and far surpassed similar food in freshness and flavor. The sauce wasn't too heavy and the veggies were fresh and crisp. I loved the brown rice because it was perfectly cooked--which sometimes is hard to find at restaurants. Husband tried the sweet & sour chicken and loved his dish as well. The only gripe I had was on presentation, it looked like they had sloshed the dishes all around on the way out of the kitchen and it looked really sloppy. My dad had to wait an extra 10 minutes or so on his dish, and it would have been nice to have all the food delivered at the same time. Overall, P.F. Changs is a really phenomenal alternative if you are craving that really-bad-for-you food court chinese. Even my husband's sweet & sour was breaded really lightly so you get the fried food but with significantly less calories. There was also a slew of gluten free options for those with special diet needs which is really nice. My mom commented that the egg drop soup was slightly "greasy" to her-- you could see the fat beading all over which was a little off-putting. Be prepared to spend slightly more at this restaurant-- but you are getting quality and much healthier ingredients so I think its worth it. The service was okay-- again, would have been nice to receive our meals at the same time but our waitress was really friendly which is great. Overall we gave P.F. Changs a 7/10. read more

This was one of our favorite restaurant until today. I remember the quality of food was great but not today. Our appetizer of calamari came out stone cold. Well maybe just this one, nope!! The pork egg roll came out, same thing, cold. Send back the calamari to be remade, second time better. My wonton came out, guess what? Cold again. Manager came over to explain that soup must be 180 degrees before leaving the kitchen, NOPE!!! Cold again, I gave my baby boy of 16 months without blowing on it, my baby must have a mouth made of steel because he eat it without any hesitation. Cold, cold food!!!! I totally understand that restaurants are doing their absolute best during COVID. It's a difficult time for everyone. However, we had a really disappointing experience last night. We ordered take out & the pickup time was over an hour after our order time. Totally fine, we understand it's busy. We get to the restaurant (we don't live right around the corner) only to be told they are running 1-1.5 hours behind on takeout! Ok - I totally get that it's really busy right now. However, why couldn't they call or text about the delay before everyone leaves their house to go pick up their food? We have typically had great service with takeout and like I said, I know people are doing their best. However, it was really frustrating to drive all the way there just to be told it would be a lot longer when a simple phone call or text really could have resolved that. read more

Incredibly disappointing experience. (Food was excellent though) We arrived at PF Chang's at about 6:10pm on 10/03/19. We were seated immediately once we arrived at the restaurant was only about half full. We were excited about dining here as it's usually a special treat. We sat at our table for about 10-12 minutes before my girlfriend had to tell a server that we've hadn't been greeted. She said she would go find someone to help us. The front of the house manager then came over, told us "The host never let the server know someone was here" and took our drink and appetizer order. (We thought to ourselves, cool a manager is involved now so we will be well taken care of). After he brought back our drinks we let him know we were ready to place our entree order. Awesome, let's eat. Our appetizers came out hot and fresh (I highly recommend the lettuce wraps and Crab Rangoon). We had just finished our appetizer when we finally met our server (Joshua) with a tray full of our entrees. Eager to dig in, we noticed that one of the entrees was missing. We made our server aware of this at which point he said: "it should be right out". We decided to share our plates so that everyone could eat and after about 15 minutes the manager brought out the missing entree with the excuse that "The kitchen forgot about it".. He clearly knew we were dissatisfied as we verbalized it to him. That was the last we saw or heard from the manager. He didn't seem to care much about his patrons or the experience they expected. He just wanted to make excuses for everything rather than fix the problem or offer any sort of solution (Comped drink, dessert, entree, to-go box, anything?) My boyfriend and I love to go to P.F. Changs and we can usually expect the same type food and service every time. We visited yesterday, and although the food was not as good as it usually is, our service was phenomenal and much better then when we have previously visited. Megan was our server and she was very kind and attentive, even when she had multiple other tables. We always had full glasses, and our appetizers and main course were served in a timely fashion. The only real complaint I have, which happens every time we visit, is that we are always seated directly next to the one other table in the restaurant, sometimes in the same connecting booth with them! I understand that their are server sections and what not, but I would at least like to be seated a few tables away from other people when there is plenty of room in the restaurant. read more

We've waited for a long time for PF Chang's to come to Grand Rapids. After some delay with City Planning/development issues, we were delighted to see the restaurant taking form and finally opening a couple of weeks ago. Every new restaurant will have to work through kinks upon opening its doors. That's understandable. So folks like me, prefer not to be guinea pigs and are content to wait a little while prior to heading out to check out the new joint. It's also wise to choose a period when there are likely to be fewer patrons. We'd heard stories via Facebook of 2+ hour waits and did not want to participate in that situation. Arriving at the restaurant, (which has a very impressive looking entrance) at approximately 3:00 pm during the middle of the week seemed like a safe bet. As we headed out of the car, some folks who had preceded us were walking back out. Thinking that perhaps the restaurant was not open, we inquired as to why they were leaving. They indicated that the restaurant was half empty, but they had been told that there was a wait for a table. Curious...we ventured in. A gaggle of pretty servers cheerfully welcomed us. Several would be diners were seated on benches or waiting outside the exterior doors. Approaching the counter, I glanced over into the restaurant which did indeed seem to have a lot of empty tables. The hostess indicated that the wait was approximately 15 minutes. We took the pager and proceeded to find a spot to wait. Of course wondering what was happening to all those empty tables. Meanwhile at least 3 separate parties of potential diners got the same response and chose to leave. I began to watch a little drama unfold with a man who had obviously been waiting for awhile and was getting increasingly frustrated. He began wondering 'aloud' about the Gen Y management team and challenged the hostess team about the large number of vacant tables. They indicated to him that the 'policy' was to reserve 60% of the tables for those who made reservations and 40% for walk-ins. Seriously? At 3:00 pm in the afternoon? Unfortunately, for him his protestations and attempts to use common sense reasoning about the possibility of seating those who were there came to no avail. To their credit, we were seated within the 15 minute time frame that was indicated. Once inside, the service was relentlessly cheerful and upbeat. Our server was attentive and the food was quite good. I opted for a spicy lamb dish with the ribs and spring roll for starters. We also ordered the sesame chicken. No problems with the food, very consistent with what you would expect at a PF Changs. The restaurant was beginning to fill up as we left. In fact, there were several people standing outside. I left thinking that I hoped they re-visited their 60% 'RULE' soon. Michigan is pretty cold in winter. It's a shame to have folks staring at warm empty tables when you could be taking their orders and making money. read more

Just a typical evening out with my parents. No celebration. No special occasion. We just haven't seen them in awhile. Sooooooooo, my wife, my parents, and I decided to dine at this restaurant. After a 45 minute wait after being told 25 minutes (not to terrible) we were seated in a moderately busy section. We were seated, then greeted by our server (Kaitlin), we started with our drink order. My mother then had a conversation with our server describing her food disability. Not understanding her disability our server rudely says, "Well good for you trying to be all healthy." Strike 1. We then arrange our table so we can look at eachother for conversation, when our server came and rearranged our table to her liking. 3 times! Strike 2. Then our requests were never met properly several times. One request was for ginger sauce so my father could enjoy his meal better. He waited, and waited, and waited. Excuse, excuse, excuse. To the point the server said to my father, "Well look at you, you slow eater." He was eating slower so that you could meet his request!! Strike 3. My first experience at this restaurant, and my last. I went here for my Birthday Pre Celebration with my mother in law yesterday! She paid so my husband and I got a nice lunch for free to celebrate! I got to pick the place and I had never tried this place though we drive by it all the time so I decided let's give a nice High End Asian Place a try! I am Very Glad I did. I loved the food. It was very filling for what I ordered. I tried the Shrimp Dumplings since I hadn't tried that and wanted to taste something new. It was scrumptious. I also got a little taste of my mother in law's salad and my husband's sweet and sour chicken. It was very satisfying. We enjoyed a delightful conversation, memoirs between my husband and his mother and I shared what I am going to be up to next month in May getting Headshots taken. I was Very Stoked to have someone who is excited to hear what we will be up to! I also received a Birthday Cheesecake. I chose the Blueberry and boy was it Superb with an absolutely exquisite creamy texture! I was in Heaven because I am watching my diet and normally stay clear of sugar so this was an exceptional treat and I am glad I decided to allow myself to indulge in my senses! It was definitely worth the risk of a few extra pesky ounces of weight gain! Guess I'll be upping my workout this week, hehe! If anything, the only thing I can say was kind of annoying, was the people right next to us were very loud and of all the seats that we're free chose to sit right by us and laugh very loudly the last half of our visit but we got peace and serenity for a little while anyways! I know the staff can't control the other guests but I just felt it was kind of rude! As for our waitress, she was very polite and accommodating! Literally waited hours for our food! And never got it!! They told us it was being made and confirmed my name when really and it had never been made at all. Left me on hold with no plan to come back, told me all the managers were busy and that they stopped taking orders at 5:30 pm when we had places ours at 6:30 pm !! Clearly didn't care to solve my issue and just wanted me to leave them alone, doordash thank god fixed the issue by refunding me and giving me a credit so they are the only ones to thank in the whole issue when p.f. chang's should have been the ones to do so, so dissapointing will never be ordering from here again. read more

Worst experience at a restaurant in a long time. Ordered food for takeout, was told it would be 2 hours. After 3 1/2 hours our order had not even been started. They were completely overwhelmed and incapable of handling the orders. Management was totally unqualified and unable to deal with their kitchen or the catastrophe they caused by taking too many orders, they couldn't handle anything. Their food is only mediocre anyways. I went with my boyfriend as our delayed first date (after six months of being together and falling on hard times) so needless to say it was an important night. He had told me how great P.F. Chang's is, so we decided to splurge. He loves tea, and was happy with the offering. Our crab rangoon was delicious and noticeably better than local chinese fare. He ordered the chicken and broccoli and I General Tso's and we were both amazingly happy with our order. Midway through the meal, our server, Alex pointed out to us that we could have ordered the 'meal for two' option on the menu, and asked if we would like that (to save a few bucks) and to receive some soup to go. I can count on my hand the amount of times that servers have reached out to offer a discount. We also ordered two small deserts which were fantastic. If you go to this location, ask for Alex; she was such an attentive and wonderful waitress. We even told the manager as we left, so that she can get some sort of recognition. read more

I am actually sad to give this review. If the service or food was as great as the interior decor I would give it a four star rating, definitely. I love how they designed the dining area to look stunning, promote flow, and create a good dining atmosphere. However, I ate twice, each time ordering two appetizers and two entrees to test for consistency. Both times the service staff was unaware of the product and, while sometimes friendly, not altogether professional. The food itself was often times overcooked and over-sauced. I don't believe I would judge this harshly were this a cheaper restaurant (while it is cheaper than when I dined in the Lansing location). Altogether I would say this restaurant suffers from the "corporate pitfalls" of a restaurant where expansion exceeds initial passion. The outside of the building and parking lot were nice and clean with some outside seating for overflow traffic. Very grand looking with giant sculptures in front and fairly good use of landscape. Server was knowledgeable, polite, and attentive to checking if our table was doing well; however, at the completion of our meal and paying our bill the server did not ask us to return. Food and beverages were served quickly and correctly. I was disappointed with the quality of the fried vegetables. The dishes had very dull color presentation. Many of the natural colors were all covered by lightly browned breading. Very good choice of spices in the sauces. The fried cauliflower was simple and flavorful however, it was old, had no crunch, was like a dead fish. Sound and smells in the restaurant were good. The high ceilings really absorbed conversations from neighboring tables. If you live or work in the area and have a little more money to spend I think they are a better take-out option. Good service experience. For an upper scale sit down restaurant, I would expect better food presentation. Meats did not taste hot or fresh. Vegetables were not fresh. The strawberry coconut cake dessert was pre-prepared at least days in advance. This cake would have been far better received if it had been presented with freshly sliced strawberries. The strawberry that was on top of our dessert looked days old and had been flattened to a soft mush. The mini butterscotch pudding was also prepared days in advance. Great Environment. It is an absolutely beautiful building. If it werent for the 1 1/2 wait everytime I've called to make reservations or go here it would have gotten a 5. The wait wasn't the issue, the fact that Everytime I call and make reservations they tell me its 1 1/2 hour wait and then I show up and there are empty seats. Other than that the food is good, huge menu, great drinks. Prices are okay. A little on the higher side but no different from anything else that has a little class in this town. i cant believe i am writing this..... this must be a new standalone restaraunt concept different than the other PF Changs chain. the decor is modern, clean, and contemporary. Its very well done, you wouldnt know its a PF changs aside from the two big horse statues out front. the food is exactly the same as the chain, so thats both good and bad...so you know what you are getting when you order..thats good...and you also know what youre getting when you order..thats kind of bad ;) anyways, decent chinese, not the best, not the worst..but the atmosphere at this location makes it a very good place. read more

If you want to say you ate at PF Changs, like to hear conservations from tables that are on top of each other, pay $28 for Chinese lunch and get served by PF brainwashed servers this place is for you. read more
