If I had to work in that restaurant I would shoot myself--atmosphere is horrible!! Remnants of hodgepodge Covid plexiglass and wood that is ratchet. Ordered Szechuan combination and got more of a Mongolian chicken that was gross. Vegetables, especially the broccoli were undercooked--like hard and gross Rice was too starchy mushy mixed with undercooked rice. I called to let them know order 58 was bad and they literally couldn't care less. When you call the kitchen background noise is in stereo. read more

We order from here as our go-to takeout Chinese spot about once every few months, sometimes once a month. Their crab rangoons are fairly consistently good, one time they were soggier than usual though. Generous portions. We usually order crab rangoons, quart size pork lo mein, and rotate between other dishes like mongolian beef, sesame chicken, and beef and broccoli. It is a staple for Chinese takeout; orders take about 10-15 min to be ready. I would recommend this place to other people! read more

Food is just not tasty and very off putting on presentation. Sauce and crab Rangoon were way overcooked and the rice was crunchy. Orange chicken tastes funky. Probably won't be back but I hope everyone else loves their orders!! Walking in to pay and everything is still set up from COVID 2019-2021. More like 3.5 stars. The food was just OK. The orange chicken isn't as good as Beijing Kitchen's or Trader Joe's, but it does taste good. The Mongolian beef had a ton of onion, the veggies were all crisp. Not sure if this is intended or just under-cooked. It was fine, but the beef came in little strips instead of slices, so it was hard to taste in any given bite. Prices aren't too bad, but not great, either. The COVID paranoia has resulted in a plastic wall being set up with one wooden box to insert payment into and another box where your food is placed. The food was ready quickly. I didn't have much interaction with the workers, but the interaction I did have was fine, no complaints. Would we go here again? Sure, if it makes sense based on location. Would we recommend it? Eh...it's fine if you need a last minute Chinese place and don't want to get on Yelp to do all sorts of research first. But if you're looking for a regular Chinese place with food that makes you confident you'll get a good meal...I'd probably look elsewhere. read more

I like everything about #1 Chinese. Never had anything but fresh, hot and tasty food.

First time here. First, I don't need red carpet treatment in terms of looks, but come on, step in the door and boxes to the right with pop on top. Then a cooler and counter with boxes and inventory. In front is glass where you order and you have to scream through it. Two chutes, one for payment, & one where they hand you your food, REALLY?!?! Table to the left with crap all on top, to the left tables with cut up boxes, inventory and other junk laying around. Floors looked like they weren't cleaned in a few days, and no heat in front, (we were eating in). So we order and she asked us what we want to drink, we just said a glass/cup of water. Nope, have to buy water. That right there was enough for me, we should have walked out right then!! Wife orders honey chicken, pretty good, but not great! I got moo goo guy pan, it wasn't terrible, IT WAS TASTELESS, ABSOLUTELY TASTELESS!!! We both got fried rice with entrees, again TASTELESS. You only knew you were eating fried rice vs white rice, that's how bland and tasteless it was! Really don't understand how they are in business! And of course NEVER GO BACK!!! read more

Wonderful food! The best eggroll in town comes from this kitchen. Every dish you'd want is available and is prepared well in a clean kitchen. You can watch them cooking, too. Lunch buffet has been available at a really reasonable price. Normal dining room has been boarded up because of Covid, but when open, it was rather cold and austere. We live nearby and love our take-out. read more

This is our favorite place to get Chinese takeout. The main dishes are good, soup is tasty, and the people are friendly. Our kids go crazy for the honey chicken - and we like it too! We have ordered from them a number of times. The portions are large and the food is good. I like the beef and broccoli and my spouse likes the honey chicken. I like their chicken egg rolls as well. We have tried other menu items and have enjoyed them as well. We usually get the lunches for take out but have done the dinners, too. The owners young daughters man the phones and the front counter and are efficient. read more

First time ordering pickup from this BAD CHOICE of a Chinese restaurant. My wife returned with the food only to find out that my "Sweet & Sour" chicken had NO sauce included, NO usual PINEAPPLE chunks, and NO green peppers or raw onion in the dish!!! These are VERY common ingredients!! All I received was a bunch of dry deep fried chicken chunks and rice... NEVER to return as customers!! ANY OTHER Chinese restaurant would have been a better choice. read more

We live close by and always get our Chinese takeout from here. Good sized portions, great food and always quick to fill the orders for pick up. We have never tried the buffet but I bet that it's great as well. read more

We've ordered to go plates here many times because the food is good. I ordered the special combination plate chicken with snow peas with fried rice and egg roll. It's not just snow peas, but with carrots, baby corn and chestnuts. My husband ordered Hunan chicken. They put a lot in the to go plate. The people are friendly as well. read more

Super friendly people in here. Stopped in here last minute to grab a bite. I was greeted as soon as I walked in with a "Happy New Year!" Placed my order, waited maybe 10 minutes max & walked out with more than a meal for less than $10. I had the Cashew chicken. Pretty decent. I can be pretty picky about the chicken & can't eat it if it looks "weird" to me but this was good. The egg roll huge - didn't have a lot of flavor to it, might have been better with a sauce. Not a big rice fan but I got the meal deal & gave the rice to someone else. Got another "Happy New Year" as I left! I will go back & try other items. They don't deliver, but owner delivered to me. I was staying at comfort suites across the street. They charge a $1 more for using credit card, but prices are cheap! I had the vegetable fried rice, except it wasn't greasy and saturated like other places! The veggie egg roles are great too. If you're in the area and staying at a hotel just ask, he might deliver. $9 for veggie rice, 2 egg rolls and delivery. What a deal! read more

Okay seriously? If you are going to name your restaurant "#1 Chinese Food", Chuck Norris had better be your chef. Unfortunately, that is not the case. I ordered takeout and the food was no better than any other run-of-the-mill Chinese Restaurant. I wasn't particularly impressed with the taste, nor the quality of the ingredients. The food is okay if you are in the area or don't have a car to drive 5 or 10 min to get Chinese food elsewhere. The pricing is about the same as any other Chinese Restaurant, however they do offer pint sized orders for the budget conscious. Overall, the name of the restaurant is clearly a sign of puffery and not a matter of fact... "#6 Chinese Restaurant" is a bit more accurate. read more

This place has the best Honey Chicken in town. Egg rolls are good. Chicken & Broccoli is good too. Hot n sour soup is okay my wife said and she is from China and picky about her soup. Great food for a great price. We live nearby and I always go here when I'm in town. I live in china and my wife is Chinese and she loved the food too. Has a uniquely American flavor to it compared to food in china, but that's what I love about this restaurant and American Chinese food in general. We had the orange chicken, Hunan shrimp, and crab Rangoon. All excellent. Plus this is a family owned business and they are really good people. This is a highly recommended restaurant. These people often forget to include items in my takeout order. When I let them know about it they are unapologetic and say they will give the forgotten item(s) if I go back to the restaurant. When I'm ready to get food on the table, I'm not going to stop everything to go back out there. They should have a better process and take better care to make sure everything is included in the order. It's true that the food tastes good, but it's not good enough to overlook missing items.
