I love this place! I used to live in the neighborhood and we'd come here sometimes for lunch and more often, Q's breakfast sandwich. I have yet to have a bad sandwich here honestly, their flavors are always spot on. We've honestly gone out of our way to come here a lot. The owner is really nice and he serves you himself most of the time, I believe. I really do love supporting local businesses so I still come here if I'm in the area, or if I'm driving in that direction for an event. The shop itself was quite pleasant and compact, and the sandwich making owner was very friendly and modest. All indications pointed to a fine sandwich when I got home with it. I had ordered the $14 Lemon & Caper Tuna Salad Sandwich which just sounded delicious in a comforting way that felt familiar. It was made with capers, pickled red onion, fresh herbs, and a reasonable amount of mayo. It was a shame really because I could've bypassed the puckeriness by ordering the BLT or the Veggie Deluxe. There are also salads and smoothies to consider. I'll definitely try one of them next time. Bad consistency and quality issues- I was excited to see a sandwich near where I live and I remember trying the Q's special bfast sandwich which tasted good the first time. I ordered it again today and it tasted stale, there was barely any hollandaise, and the bacon smelled like old cooking oil. Definitely NOT worth $16! Consistency is key when it comes to good food places especially in a competitive place like San Francisco and sad to see that Q's does not meet those expectations. read more

I was the first customer and Q was there to greet me. We talked about how he set up the store just as the pandemic started. I wouldn't blame you for passing by Q's Sandwich stop and initially missing it. But it's a low-key spot you really have to check out. The turkey pesto sandwich I had was expertly crafted, with a perfect blend of flavors from the turkey, crispy bacon, and pickled onions on a soft focaccia bread. I only wish the bread was toasted. It's definitely one of my favorite sandwiches around. The staff was also super friendly and welcoming, making the whole experience even better. This looks like any other sandwich shop the sidewalk, but the sandwiches here are probably the best I've had in the city. You owe it to yourself to try them; they blew away my expectations. The turkey pesto, Cubano, and pulled pork sandwiches are all delicious and delightful. The bread here is always very fresh - the focaccia is particularly good, and I like their ciabatta as well. A nice balance of meat, vegetables, and sauce. To drink: the berry smoothie is great. The owner works here, and I really feel like they put extra effort into making really good sandwiches. Weekend only breakfast sandwich: scrambled eggs, bacon, tomato, hollandaise sauce on a brioche bun (baked fresh daily by Panorama Baking Co). Bun was soft and pillowy. Eggs were creamy and prepared well. Hollandaise was lemon-y and delicious. I wish there was a bit more hollandaise and that the bacon was thicker or ham/Canadian bacon for a meatier flavor. (For those reasons, I still prefer the hollandaise egg sandwich at the Haight Loaves pop-up across the street at Wine Kitchen. But this one was really good, too!) Warm, friendly customer service.
