This is my second review of Pacific Breeze. I have been living in Los Angeles for the last 2 years, so when I visited Portland last month, I had to go back to my one of my favorite places. As it was in the past, the food was superb. I currently live in Little Thai Town in east hollywood, and I can honestly say Pacific Breeze is still my favorite Thai Restaurant! Everything from the flavor to the service was excellent! I had Pad See Ew with Tofu and my friend had Pad Thai with chicken. Both were cooked to perfection. I swear the chef has the golden touch! This restaurant holds a special place in my heart since I ate so much there in high school, and it was sad for me to see the one angry review down below. My only guess is that person was having a really bad day, because every time I have ever been there, the staff is very attentive and polite to everyone (I'm pretty sure it's all run by one family too). I guess there's always a grumpy person in every bunch of reviews, but if you are thinking about trying out Pacific Breeze, I would highly recommend it! ....writing this is making me hungry :( read more

Wife and daughter gave it a three, but my vote was two. FOOD: - Wife and daughter had vegetarian pho and gave it a three. - I had the grilled salmon curry. Lots of volume. I love this place! The food I'd great and fresh! I never have to worry that when I get home my order will be wrong, it's always perfect! They are all so nice there so I love to come in and enjoy table service every once in a while! My favorite disk is the Jungle Noodle and the grilled Chicken on lettuce. Perfect for a warm summer night. Just add a lovely Pinot Gris and it's the perfect meal!! read more

+ 1 star for service. Quick seating. Friendly. + 1 star for portion size. Received hearty amount of pad kee mao. I could barely finish it all. + 1 star for convenience of location and ambience. - 1 star for taste. The pad kee mao tasted sour like lime had already been squeezed on it. Not the way I like it. I've had much better drunken noodles elsewhere. Bean sprouts were yummy and fresh at least. 5 stars reserved for exceptional restaurants only. This place is not. The only reason I would stop again is because it is on the way home. read more

Tucked in a strip mall off 99W (Pacific Hwy) in King City/Tigard, this Vietnamese/Thai restaurant solves the problem when momma wants Pad Thai and dad wants Pho bc tummy is not feeling well. This place does a lot of take-out as evidenced by all the bags and soup waiting on the counter. Both types of cuisine are pretty standard to above average for area. Nowhere near as good as in Portland proper or Beaverton. But for a five minute drive from Tualatin where I live at the time being, it's a deal. read more

I really love the food here it always tastes fresh and is one of my new favorite take out spots! Great for the whole family and they are very accommodating to my allergy to peppers. I like that they have a clean pen and a dirty pen basket to sign receipts when picking up Togo orders. read more

I was looking for a new Thai restaurant and this is definitely NOT it. The green curry chicken was WAY too salty and really bland. I was equally as disappointed with the Tom Kha soup; the only flavor that came through was tomato. My friend had Pad Woonsen with pork and reiterated the same sentiment from my dishes, a complete lack of flavor. Not impressed at all! read more

This place used to be so so good. We haven't been in a while because we have been busy but something has changed. The food has no flavor, just spicy. None of those yummy curry & lemongrass favors you would expect. Tastes like they didn't use coconut milk but some other chalky substance. Or sauce from powdered, gross. Not all the veggies were fresh. Satay wasn't good and sauce for the veggie rolls was definitely from canned/jar. Sorry to see that this place has either changed ownership or just gone downhill. Can't take another bite of this meal and throwing away the extra food we got for leftovers...So sad. read more

I bought the Pho being able to choose three different meats. This was a to go order. The guy accidently charged me $12 instead of $9 and gave me three bucks cash instead of putting it back on my card, which is fine. The service was nice, they brought out my boyfriend's bubble tea while still making the food. At home we opened the containers with the soup indgrediants to pour into the broth, all the meat was clearly cooked first before giving it to us and the noodles were nicely cooked and not rubberized. The place is quiet and cozy feeling. The bubble tea did not taste like Taro, but instead tasted like an Oreo cookie shake with bubbles lol, good but not bubble tea and in a small container for what they charge. Will go back for sure! I went here with a group and was immediately impressed. Even though the building itself looked run down and scary, I was impressed with the renovations to the interior.We did not brave the tiny tables which force you to sit cross legged but we were very comfy. The food was quite good. I had their cashew chicken which had such great flavor and loads of veggies. read more

Upon a recommendation by my lab-mate, I went here for dinner the other night. I haven't been to a restaurant that served both Thai and Vietnamese food before so I was a little skeptical, though the reviews for the Thai dishes are pretty high. I was battling a cold/stuffy nose so all I wanted was some pho and while everything on the menu were all calling out to me, I went straight for the pho with rare steak. I asked for the meat on the side because I do that from time to time and our server was a little hesitant to honor my request but I reassured her that I'm okay with eating raw beef because I've done it plenty of times in the past. I guess she doesn't get too many customers who do that. While waiting for pho, I ordered the papaya salad and asked her to make it as spicy as possible. She said "we can do it Thai spicy, can you handle it?" Sure! Moments later, I see the refreshing salad with bits of both habanero and Thai chili pieces. I don't eat the actual peppers when they're in my food but the salad was spicy enough and not too spicy that I couldn't taste any other flavors. I regret not boxing up the leftovers! When the pho came out, I was pleased at how clean the broth was. It wasn't oily and tasted very clear and soothing. The raw beef was pretty yummy too. While I'm feeling better today, I like to think that this thing had something to do with it (though I did cave in and get cold remedy pills after dinner). read more

We've been eating here for years, and I can give anyone who wants to try it one solid piece of advice: take out. The food is really good and the portions ample. I don't think we've ever had a bad meal here. I tend to stick with the curry (panang being my favorite) but we've tried a variety of dishes through the years. Its odd though- if you order take out it's usually ready in 20 mins or less, no matter the quantity. If you eat in... It's a total crapshoot. They are chronically understaffed and the severs are usually apathetic. Not sure what the deal is but after several long waits for our meals with crappy service we've decided to stick to take out. The food really is good- I'd give them 5 stars if not for the unusually sub-par in-house dining experience. read more

I won't tell you the service is amazing, because sometimes it's scattered -short staffed and other times it is very good. The food is solid good, some things better than others. Curry dishes, stir fry, soups, wantons are excellent. Salad rolls with shrimp/pork are awful: lot of shredded (bordering on brown) lettuce, no flavor...almost tasted old. Nearly everything on the menu (sans the salad rolls) has been very good to excellent. Portions are ample with moderate prices. Plan on taking food home. It is probably the best Thai in the area, plus a Vietnamese menu which is the best of both worlds in my book. read more

What an odd little restaurant. Not odd in a bad way either so relax people no need to try to lynch me. A Viet and Thai restaurant where 2/3 of the menu is Thai and the rest is Vietnamese. No big deal since some of the ingredients are sometimes the same. My friend had the curry, which i forgot to try, and i had the com dac biet. think of it as a plate of rice with all their bbq meats. Lemon grass chicken, which i loved. bbq pork chop, shrimp and something else i forgot. It was a filling plate and i enjoyed it. PB is still, hands down, my favorite thai food, period. it's not possible to eat at every thai food restaurant in the greater Portland area (and beyond!), but I like to think that I've made a noble effort in achieving that goal. I always end up craving the 'breeze, regardless of how good something else is. the perfectly seasoned noodles, the perfectly assorted veggies, and a spice tray that actually gets the oil/spice ratio right! i love this place so much. i want it now. read more

Pacific Breeze - No74 my favorite! - Thai Near Me - Tigard, Oregon

This has been my favorite Thai restaurant here for years. Way out in the burbs is not where I expected to find the best Thai food in the entire Portland area. It's tucked away in a dingy looking strip mall, but it's well worth the effort to get there. I used to live nearby and went through periods of time where I ate there daily. Now I've moved about 20 minutes away but still head out there any chance I get. Their lunch is well priced and comes with whatever soup they have that day, rather than some places that always serve the same soup with lunch, day after day (my favorite is the tom kha). They're very good about adjusting the spiciness when you ask, I like it to be super hot and most places leave me disappointed. And they somehow manage to serve excellent Vietnamese food too! Usually when I find a cross-over restaurant like that at least one if not both cuisines tend to suffer, but not here. I highly recommend the Pad Ga Prau with chicken, the Tom Kha soup, the salad rolls, the fried won tons, and the meat rolls. There's not much that I wouldn't recommend there but those are my favorites. The staff is also super friendly! They even have outdoor seating for when it's nice out. Oh, word of advice, what Yelp doesn't tell you about their hours is that they close weekdays from 3-4:30. They're also really nice about taking late-night to go orders, they just ask you to get there by closing time. read more

I have friends from Seattle and Portland who come down to visit and I take them here and they're always telling me that this is some of the best Thai that they've ever had. Pacific Breeze is AWESOME Thai food and I go there as often as I can. The curries are wonderful and the pineapple fried rice is great. The staff is always friendly. My own two complaints are this: 1. Their mango sticky rice is not very good at all. I ordered it once and it was dry and the mango wasn't great 2. The tea they use is Stash which is ok I guess, but not great. read more

Wow! The seafood house special (with garlic sauce) and Panang curry (peas, bell peppers, carrots, and meat of choice) are excellent. Service was quick and food was absolutely delicious. We will be coming back next time we are in the neighborhood. read more

Went in with high hopes after reading rave reviews only to see them dashed against the rocks like a piece of driftwood. Ordered Tiaplia and it was gross, horrible. Deep fried and possibly 2 oz of meat which was over cooked. The head was 80% of the fish and it just sat there and looked at me. The dish was covered with a goopy sauce that although flavored well and yummy was overpowering to the entire dish. Very disappointed. read more

I love this place! The cute little restaurant in Tigard is conveniently located to Bull Mountain and one of the only really good restaurants in the immediate area. Their menu offers a good variety of both Vietnamese and Thai food and honestly--I've ordered all sorts of things off the menu from spicy chicken to wonton soup to spare ribs or pad thai and you can't go wrong! My measure of if a Thai restaurant is always through ordering pad se ew or pad thai. And out of all the restaurants in all the different states (a lot) that I've had pad thai at this is by FAR the best! It is so flavorful and moist compared to some of the other places I've had it where it can be really dry and less than memorable. read more

We tried Pacific Breeze our first time over delivery (and still do). They don't personally offer delivery but we went through a third party called "door dash." Anywho, we first sought out delicious Pho and we found it there! Delicious (and when it's delivered, it's all separate so you can do it yourself, always better that way)....now that I'm writing this, I realize that the pho is the only thing we've had there, ha! Have you ever walked into a restaurant and had the waitstaff act like you just ruined their day? That's what happened when we came here. For bonus points, the waiter looked at me like i was some sort of semi-literate ingrate when i asked which entrees could be made fully vegetarian and MSG-free, based on the note on the menu that specifically said that _some_ of them could be. In the end, i got a pad se ew that was as flavorless as it was meatless, but at least it didn't give me a headache or a stomach-ache. read more

Excellent pho, great prices. An extensive menu of both Thai and Vietnamese food, clean and good service. Portland has so many options as far as both of those countries' cuisines go, and Pacific Breeze is near the top of the list. I'll definitely be back. Also try the salad rolls. Nice find! Because there are Thai places on every other corner in the greater Portland area, it's nice to find one that really floats your boat. Pacific Breeze is a keeper! --Fried Egg Rolls (meat version): Ugliest things I've ever seen, but damn if they aren't tasty! We will definitely order these again. Would be even better with some fresh mint leaves, vermicelli, and lettuce wraps to dip it into the sweet fish sauce. But even on their own, delicious! --Tom Yum soup to rival my favorite at Thai Basil in Lake Oswego. I like the shrimp version, though I wish they'd take the tails off. Makes it cumbersome to eat and bite the tails off. --Yellow curry with chicken was THE BEST I've had to date in the great northwest. Potatoes, carrots onions, peppers and your choice of meat or tofu in a great sauce over white rice. Very generous serving to share. --And from the Vietnamese portion of the menu, we've tried the bun (pronounced "boon") with grilled shrimp and those shrimp were finger-licken' good. Friendly staff. We got our food to go, but looked like a decent place to dine in as well, especially if you venture to sit in the tables along the front window (sitting cross-legged on pillows at a low table). We already have "must order" favorites and we look forward to sampling more from their menu. A great find. Would be a plus if they'd post their full menu online. P.S. City boundaries change every other block, but this is actually in Tigard, not Portland. At least that's what their business license on the wall says. read more
