Went to Pacific Catch last night before seeing a movie. The food was excellent and the service was responsive after a hiccup with the wine order. Our waiter, Adam, was very accommodating as we asked about menu items and the wine order. Ended up with the manager coming over to inquire and fixing the issue. No push back. I was craving poke today and I went to Pacific Catch because I know they never disappoint me. It was my second time picking up food at their San Mateo Location. I usually go to their Palo Alto and Cupertino locations when I want to eat at the restaurant. I ordered their Japanese Wasabi Ahi Poke Bowl. It has everything that I like and it tastes absolutely delicious. Also, all of those ingredients were super fresh. I chose half sushi rice and half mixed organic greens. Parking isn't hard to find there. I always find spot in the street or at the parking garage super close to the restaurant. It's about two minutes walking. Really great experience here. This place is super dog friendly. The hostess offered us some dog treats and brought out water bowls for our two dogs and they even have a cute little doggy menu. I have recently dined at Pacific Catch on B Street in downtown San Mateo several times over the last month. Both experiences were technically indoors. The management and staff have taken all of the expected precautions(proper table spacing, backdoor open, masks. We felt at ease and comfortable. All of the indoor seating is at the back of the restaurant next to the open back door. There is also covered patio seating on the other side of the open backdoor. I have been obsessed with their Seared Ahi Burger. The Ahi is a generous size and dare I say meaty. I have also been crazy about their Guacamole and Chips. The Guac is fresh, just a bit spicy, and the chips taste as they were made fresh in back. Lastly, during my most recent visit, our group shared the Ceviche and Poke Trio Sampler(pick 3). I highly recommend this starter if it sounds as good as it reads. During both of our dine in experiences, our waitress was masked, cheery, and efficient. For now, they're not serving a high volume of customers indoors but I do expect this to change, at least I hope. read more
