I first called and inquired about replacing my tires. I gave her all the information about my car and the girl on the phone quoted me $40. I So I show up to the shop and the guy (Hector) automatically sees my car and quotes me $55. Told him that they quoted me $40 on the phone but he completely disregarded it. Businesses must be cognizant of who they hire because one bad employee like Hector can ruin their business. I then called the local Pep Boys, they changed my tire on the spot for $37. Over the last couple of years I've come to appreciate the level of service the team here provides even after you purchase your tires. I regularly come in every 3-5k miles to get a free rotation and their team gets be in/out in under 10 minutes - no questions asked. Nail in your tire? They'll take care of it on the fly. A few times they've done it free of charge (although I usually tip the tech who handles it). Need an oil change? No problem. I've never had to wait more than 20 minutes for them to complete. Their pricing on tires and other services is competitive and the level/speed of service truly sets them apart from other shops in the area. I "discovered" Pacific Tire in Lawndale some years back when a AAA tow truck driver brought me and my '92 Volvo 240 in with two flat tires. I was greeted by a cadre of good natured, kind, patient, extremely competent and efficient gentlemen, who had the tires repaired and reinstalled in less than 20 minutes. In the meantime, I was attended to by an equally good natured, kind, patient, extremely competent and efficient office manager, and by the time my car was ready she had completed the paperwork and the sale, and after a brief pleasant conversation I was on my way. Since that time I have been in for new tires, air, tire rotation and inspection, and each visit has been the same. Most recently I as in for new tires and front end alignment. Again, true to form, my visit was simply a pleasure, with an added unexpected service. The gentleman who did the alignment discovered and quickly repaired at no charge a small gas leak in the undercarriage of my car! Finally, Pacific Tire always has in stock the tires my car requires, and at a very good price. By the way, the office manager can direct you to Starbucks a few doors south, as well as the to the Corner Burger across the street and a block west near the Lawndale City Hall! read more
