TERRIBLE TERRIBLE TERRIBLE. Top soil delivery that is at this moment over 2 hours late and I have people waiting to help move this dirt that I am currently paying. I called earlier today to confirm the delivery. I have not received any phone calls to follow up on the delivery. I won't ever use them again and recommend you do not either. read more

When ordering mulch with Furlings closed now, called for 6 yards ( minimum for delivery) to be placed to the right of driveway. Request written on order , tarps out to catch overflow. They placed it in the center of driveway blocking any use of driveway! Called John and got a lame excuse that it just comes out that way and unable to control where it flows !! Huge inconvenience for me, renter, construction guys as no access to park. Spent hours moving that pile to get one car in !! Poor response, no accountability to error and clearly did not give a rip with the customer. I would not use them ever again with their attitude and inability to even attempt to correct or apologize for error ! read more

Wish I could give 0 stars! I had a client order arborist chips from them because they needed a coordinated delivery and couldn't use chip drop. The 10 yard of chips that were delivered were at at least a 3rd fill dirt! Myself and the client reached out to them and at first they told me a little dirt was to be expected I told them that this was not a little dirt. I even sent pictures. I also said they should inspect the woodchips they receive and they said that the "trust" the product that the aborist bring them. It was a heavy mess to move that took me more time and now little weeds are starting to grow. They did nothing to mediate the issue with my client. And basically were complete A holes! Avoid this company like the plague! I also learned a few years back they let a untrained new kid go in a hopper which ended tragically. Proves what kind of irresponsible garbage company this is! read more

Terrible product - topsoil was full of rocks and glass! Pandemic project - I was finally going to get rid of all of the moss in my yard and get the lawn into shape! I removed all of the moss, and then ordered 10 yards of topsoil from Pacific Topsoil to fill in low spots and level things out before seeding. The topsoil was delivered, and it must have been over 10% rocks! It was supposed to be "screened". I didn't notice it at first, and started spreading the soil. Then I spent weeks screening it myself, raking rocks out of the yard, etc. I missed my seeding window, spent a lot of time, not to mention the soil wasn't cheap to begin with. And I now have a pile of gravel in my backyard from all of the screened rocks. And I'm still finding glass in the yard to this day. read more

Excellent and convenient service. Very knowledgeable staff. I picked up some soil and bark on a Saturday, and got in and out with no problems at all. I had some concerns about the weight limit of my truck, and the guy behind the register suggested I buy 3/4 of a yard instead of a full yard (I had no idea you could buy in quarter yard increments), and gave some other good advice. Soil and bark were top quality. Very few rocks in either of the two loads. I'll be going here again for all my soil and bark needs. read more

I spent the last couple of months building planters and retaining walls in my yard. I decided to have Pacific Topsoil deliver 17 yards of three way mix via their "Slinger" truck. This saved me spending another week or two moving the soil via wheelbarrow from the typical pile I have had delivered to my driveway in the past. Scott showed up right on time in a monster truck, which was a marvel. He handled it like a surgeon extending the conveyor arm in between tree limbs without disturbing a leaf. Scott was able to fill my planters and distribute the soil exactly where I wanted it. The balance of my project requires about 15 yards of 5/8" minus crushed rock which I will have delivered by Scott and the "Slinger". read more

The quality of the soil and service was so bad that it was worse than nothing -- it ended up killing starts and left my situation worse than when I started. Utterly poor soil and service. And finally this year I may be able to order some soil that is better than the toxic stuff they peddled. I ordered 6.5 yards of the special garden mix in 2016 having had good results with the compost in the past. (Reposting as the old review site was closed -- probably trying to escape their reputation. Their compost may still be good, but for what I paid this year the soil was worse than nothing. Breaking up the hard pan would have produced better results. It killed a number of my starts, and the nutrients were so bad very little grew well, and I was only able to get any veggies at all was with generous fertilizing -- according to the diagnosis the purple to black leaves on the corn and eggplants and the sickly condition of all the other veggies appeared to be several potassium deficiency. It took until the last week of August for even one of the zucchinis to start one fruit. When tested the potassium and nitrogen did not even register. To top it off the delivery person arbitrarily decided to dump the soil somewhere else creating a lot of extra heavy lifting. The few things I had in the well used and neglected typical light brown hard pan-ish soil fared much better. read more

After struggling for a year to amend the "special garden mix" i paid extra for, I finally resolved to growing a seed garden. I have not been able to get anything but spindly, weak, bolting greens in the soil I got from this company. I now have 4' tall Kale stalks leftover from last year, with loads of seeds on them, in June. Last summer I managed to get some tomatoes, but that was probably because I filled in all around them with straight compost. I will never order soil from this company again--in the words of a soil technician from a great local nursery, places like this know and care little about soi, they are simply trucking companies. I highly recommend SmallerDumptrucks.com. My garden is thriving in their soil and the man running the business is super friendly, seems to really care about gardens, soil and the people who do business with him. Btw, the "special garden mix" from Pacific Topsoils is supposed to contain peat, compost and sand and is specially formulated for vegetable and flower gardens. What you really get is concrete mix. The soil crusted over and made it very difficult to water after it hardened, and there is so little organic matter, it's no wonder I couldn't get my greens to grow. Kale is perhaps THE easiest thing to grow in the northwest, and I would have been better off just sticking it in the ground. read more

Professional and helpful-- fantastic group of people at this local business. We've used them for years and have always been happy with products and service but today was pivotal. We needed to drop off yard waste and, when we arrived, our trailer battery died. Not only did they loan us tools, they used their machines to help unload as well without hesitation. Terrible customer service. Drove in today to get a quote for 300 yards (to me a large order) of top soil. There were no cars parked, so pulled into the first open location. The driver of the front end loader didnt like where I initially parked, drove up close to my car and told me to move, but did not want to move... When he did, I moved, and again he didnt like where I parked, and said I was blocking traffic... there was ZERO traffic. If this is how they treat a customer before I even talk to somebody - I will not be a customer of Pacific TopSoils. Too many other companies who value customer experience. Misleading product description. I am very disappointed in the quality of their "Fine Dark Mulch". I was expecting it to be a dark brown mulch, but it is a very light and washed out brown mulch. I was hoping to get the same color as our neighbors which is dark brown, but unfortunately I did not. At least the crew who did the blower service listened to my instruction and did a good job. read more

I called to order mulch for my yard and their sales people were flat out unhelpful and in once case rude enough to hang up on me after a respectful and polite comment on my part. I simply refuse to work with people who treat me rudely without cause. The bark I wanted to order cost $314.64 with tax and delivery. I found it well worth the extra price ($334.51) to go with a different vendor who was polite fast and accommodating. read more

Dreadful. From the salesman to the receptionist to the driver--no one seems to understand you need customers to return to stay in business. For the amount of product the price was extortion. It required many emails and phone calls on our part -- this should have been a red flag to use another company. I'm sure they're not going under because it's a hassle to get mulch and top soil, but buyer beware. read more

I had the same experience as many others. I was taken back by how disinterested and rude their customer service folks behave towards customers. It's sort of like working with the government or the DMV. At one point I asked what I thought was a reasonable question about their products and the woman said "I don't have time to go on a wild goose chase for you". That is a direct quote. I guess they have a monopoly of sorts which explains their closed mindset and attitude. A little healthy competition might do them some good. read more

Be careful dealing with this business over the phone - I ordered a product and tried to pay by credit card over the phone but apparently dealt with a "trainee" who completely failed to record or process the transaction-several weeks after the product was delivered (great drivers by the way) I got a letter stating I had not paid for the product and had been unavailable by phone (they apparently called the landline once despite my telling the "trainee" that I did not use that number and giving her my cell number to call. ) I immediately called them and spoke to another employee - told her that as soon as I got my credit card statement and confirmed that there was no charge for the product I would call and pay for the product again-I gave her my cell number as well - she said she would make a note in the file and let the credit department I had called. Apparently she failed to make any note of this conversation or to notify the credit department because I then got another call from what I assume was the credit department again on my landline that I answered because I saw the call was from this business-the woman I spoke with had no knowledge of my earlier conversation with her co-worker and told me pay before the end of the month or she would turn the several hundred dollar charge over to collections Bottom line - if you like dealing with a company staffed with unreliable employees who evince the attitude that the customer is always wrong you are going to love this business read more

Top soil contains weed seeds. Poor neighbor brought in and dumped several pickup trucks full of top soil for a lawn. Now its a patch of clover. I've gotten drain rock here because its covnenient. Better prices and top notch Cedar Grove soils available at Fruehlings in Bothel. read more

Topsoil is poor in quality. It appears that there is too much yard waste, sticks, twigs and wood in their 3-way top soil compared to their competition. They are also pricey at $9 more per yard than others for less quality. I will only use Pacific if I need to for the convenience factor. read more

I have used Pacific Topsoil for quite a few years and always been satisfied with their product. However, this year, the product was not so good. I thought about trying someone else instead but decided to make a phone call and see what their customer services was really like. I was directed to leave a message on their customer service line. I was called back the same day. Within 24 hours Josh Roden, one of their customer service specialists had already been out to see me and within a few more days, the problem was resolved! This is what I call CUSTOMER SERVICE. Josh went above and beyond. This is EXCEPTIONAL customer service. I will ALWAYS, use Pacific Topsoil and will most definitely recommend them to everyone else.
