Very disappointing - I took the effort to make an appointment to bring my car in for a clutch repair, yet again. They took my information down schedule an appointment and when I take off of work to bring the car in the service advisor told me that they don't have mechanics able to work on my car and not sure why the appointment was scheduled. My review is only for the service side of this dealership, not having dealt with the sales. I have personally brought in my Focus to have minor warranty repairs done and have gotten them turned around same day. They even offer to pick up and drop you off if needed, which in my case was not. I also manage a fleet of vehicles at our firm and the last 3 vehicles we have taken in were repaired timely and quickly with no issues with payment or hidden repairs done without our consent. Overall I would recommend servicing your Ford at this dealership. I've been back there several times this month and every time received great customer service. read more

Like many people, the thought of going into a dealership and purchasing a new car was something we didn't look forward to. I have to say, from the time we walked in, it was a pleasant experience. We picked out a car online and set up a time to look at it. It was ready when we came in, and within ten minutes we were on a test drive. Our salesman Eric, was very knowledgeable and friendly and able to answer all of our questions and explain all the features of the car. He spent time with us pairing our phones and walking us through all the details of the touchscreen. Everyone we met was courteous and knowledgeable and easy to talk with. WARNING I have owned a Ford truck for 12 years. I have been very happy with my purchase and when it was time to get a new truck, I went straight to Ford. However the experience and frustration that I have experienced is beyond belief. I have been treated with such a lack of respect as a consumer and my continual frustration with this purchase, I am ready to take this truck back to the dealer and tell everyone I know about my experience in leasing this truck, so that other consumers will think twice about purchasing/leasing a Ford Vehicle. As business owners ourselves we do not like bad reviews but at this point if we do not get resolution we plan to share our experience with others. We went to Packey Webb Ford in Downers Grove, IL on June 30, 2017 to look at the 2017 Ford F-150. My wife and I spent over 6 hours at the dealership and test drove only one vehicle. Our salesman Brad Vanderploeg was very nice and made us feel comfortable throughout the process. On 7/5/17 I brought the truck in to have the bed liner sprayed and the key programmed (as it did not work originally). We then received a call after having the truck for over 4 weeks saying that we have the wrong vehicle! Packey Webb said they received the wrong vehicle from another dealer and the VIN # was off by the last number. The truck was suppose to be exactly the same just wrong VIN #. When we received that call from Packey Webb, they said they still had to transport the vehicle from another dealership to Packey Webb Ford and would call when it's ready. On 8/3/17 we returned the truck to make the exchange, it was not the exact same vehicle that we test drove on 6/30/17. They blocked our truck in with another vehicle and took off our license plates right away. The vehicle that had the VIN # on our contract did not have the twin paneled moon roof, was a different shade of white and missing other options we agreed upon. Someone should have noticed this the day of purchase or when we returned less than 5 days later for the bed liner and key. We refused to switch vehicles. The sales manager Todd Budish came out and said your truck is this one that matches the VIN # and we disagreed. Todd made us feel that it was our fault for their mix-up. Our vehicle was the one we test drove, agreed upon and drove home on 6/30/17. I told him I wanted to cancel my contract agreement and wanted my money back. Todd's reply to us was "yep that's the best thing to do". However he proceeded to tell us he was going to charge rental fees and cancellation fees, I told him that I was not agreeing to that. He walked away and we did not see him again the remainder of our time there. At this point, I was ready to shout from the rooftop not to purchase a vehicle from Packey Webb. Put yourself in my position and I am confident you would feel the same way. I had to find Brad in the showroom and explained to him that this was unreasonable, Brad said they had to adjust some numbers and they would make it work for us. He was going to take the loss personally because he should have noticed the error. However once again we were lied to as they added the total at the end of our lease purchase price. They just increased the residual value of the vehicle at the end of the lease to make up the cost. The sticker price difference was $4,839.03, they added $3,731.75 on to the new contract only leaving $1,107.28 as a loss to the dealership. Not the "total loss" he had stated earlier. On 8/4/17 we received a letter in the mail from the Secretary of State stating that we had vehicle plates on a truck. It turns out they gave us the wrong vehicle plates (passenger plates instead of truck plates). So we were driving around illegally with car plates on a truck and the wrong VIN # on the paperwork. On 9/25/17 we received yet another set of plates in the mail. We contact the Secretary of State once again to be sure which ones are registered to the truck since we now have two sets of license plates. We have not heard anything back, not surprising, considering the experience we have had in leasing this vehicle. read more

Ok I posted a bad review (my first review ever, BTW) on Packey Webb Ford because we had problems with a pre-negotiated signed deal getting changed last minute. It was not an ideal experience and we were upset by the surprise change in plans. But in fairness I have to admit our salesperson, Evan Woods, reached back out to us a few days later to rectify the situation. He was apologetic about what transpired and worked very hard to get the deal back on the table which I am happy to say was completed tonight. While I know a lot of this was out of Evan's hands it was nice to see someone with integrity reaching out to bring positive resolution to an unfortunate situation. We are very happy with our our purchase and grateful to Evan Woods for making this happen! read more

I guess they don't care about selling cars. I tried to buy a used car from 800 miles away, sales person wouldn't even take pictures for me, she had to ask her manager to do it. After that, I tried to negotiate the price but they just ignored my offers. Seeing their reviews here, I'm glad we didn't strike a deal. My review will center on my experience with the aftermarket department. I dont know if this is a good or bad place to buy a car. I brought my vehicle in for a trailer hitch install. When I came to pick it up, the wrong hitch had been installed. I also had some miscommunication with the dealership on payment, because my fleet company was supposed to pay for the work. Mike (aftermarket sales) did call to apologize for the mistake on the work, and offered to fix what had been wrong. Ill probably go someplace else next time though. read more

We flew from Florida to Chicago to purchase a van from them. They were skeptical at first, but where we called to say we had arrived they believed that we were for real. Unnecessary coolant change was performed ridiculously sooner than manufacturer recommended mileage and date. Beautiful new location obviously has to be paid for...unfortunately with nasty methods. I suppose a dealership is only as good as their service department, right? I have a 2011 Ford Escape and began losing power on the highway.....pretty scary stuff. I immediately called Packey Webb service as they have been servicing my car to my satisfaction ever since I purchased it there. They couldn't get me in for almost 2 weeks despite a detailed explanation of the problem . Packey Webb gave no indication that they had any idea that my issue was a real problem and part of a Ford recall. I didn't have time to wait for another dangerous loss of power, so I brought it to my mechanic. My mechanic tried cleaning the throttle body and a week or so later, the car failed again on the highway. Meanwhile, after some research, i found out this is a common problem for Ford Escapes. As....in.....a rampant, very well known problem. I called Ford service, explained the problem and was told that "maybe I've heard of that problem, but it doesn't matter whether you being it here or to your mechanic." Really....?....because now my mechanic has told me Ford recalled my car and extended the warranty on throttle bodies. I called Packey Webb again, asked for the service manager, left a message and haven't heard back. Meanwhile, Fair Oaks Ford has scheduled me to bring the car in tomorrow. Packey Webb.....you stink. I bought my used car here because it was on Cars.com located at Packey Webb. It was a 2002 Saturn SC2 with only 44k miles on it. The purchase and trade in went smooth. I found out that I could get an extended warranty through them called Ford Premiumcare and I'm glad I did! A few weeks later my moonroof wouldn't shut all the way and with the monsoon we got in Chicago was terrible so I was freaking out. Took it in to Packey Webb and they were able to get it replaced. In fact, the first day, I was so freaked out about the repairs and the time needed for replacement, I was given a demo to get on with my life while repairs were being done. Kevin in the Warranty Department gave me his car so I can get home until I could get a rental (which up to ten days is included from my warranty) so I wouldn't be held up. Kevin went above and beyond his job description to make sure I wasn't stranded and to that I am very grateful. Look, being a Quality Manager by trade, they made a bad situation a pleasant one by doing their jobs correctly and going way beyond! That being said, I would recommend this dealership for the quality and professionalism proven to me. Everyone there showed me that they care about their customers and I am so glad I purchased from Packey Webb. I purchased my F150 in Chicago off Western Avenue, which is not a convenient location for service based on where I live. As a result, I have taken my truck to several local dealers for maintenance. Packey Webb is by far the nicest facility, and the most professional with regards to the Works Oil Change. Staff is friendly, especially Sam. The facility is new, and waiting area is comfortable. Based on my experience with other dealers, I would highly recommend this dealer for service and maintenance. Nice selection of new and used vehicles as well. read more

I know Packey Webb has been around for many years YET IF I DON'T SHARE THIS, I WILL BE DOING A DISSERVICE TO OTHER WOMAN. The absolute worst salesmanship I have ever witnessed. I was just about to make a deal and sign the paperwork. When due to the what the "sales people" thought I didn't have the knowledge as a woman to purchase a vehicle. In turn, they brought in two people the Finance Manager and some guy name todd. Todd, was so kind to explain to this woman (me) all the ins and outs about purchasing a car/financing/payment......during this time, I tried to explain I understand this and this was my 7th car I have purchased on my own. Once again, when I tried to talk todd rudely over talked me. This happened 3 times, when I told him and the salesman I needed to walk away. As I got up, I saw todd look over and roll his eyes and whisper underneath his breath......I guess I was bold enough that he was too scared to actually speak at his normal voice that he choose to whisper. I stopped in my tracks and I said if you have something to say, please say to my face. I proceeded to say if you think I was going to stay quiet and let you treat me as a "stupid woman" or naive woman" where you can treat me as an someone below you, you todd are sorely mistaken. You will not over talk me and treat me this way......which is when todd sat in his chair silently and just waved his hand to me as to just leave his presence. Oh todd, i'm so thankful you came in my life and I have the free speech to tell the world what kind of vile scum you are as well as the Packey Webb family (Greg, John and Brad) Your family dealership on the scale is an "F" dealership. Mike G. the salesman had the audacity to contact me to apologize for his bosses behavior and still ask if we could make a sale?! Seriously, no understanding of disrespect is amazing! You should be proud of what kind of appalling people you have on your staff. Last Thursday I decided to take my car to service (oil change) and also have the tire fixed. I decided to show up without appointment to see how long it will take them to do it and it only took about hour and half. After inspection of the tire ,it was determined that tire is not fixable,and I need new tire, however they didn't have one in stock ( it happens,right) . So they had to order one and I was told it will be there next day ( Friday ) . Friday come and I give them the call around noon to find out if the tire is there, I spoke with secretary and she told me someone will call me back shortly. Got the call 3 HOURS later but It was too late for me to schedule an appointment. I told the service representative that I will stop by during the week whenever I will have time . He told me to stop any time and that I don't need appointment because it is a quick fix. Today ( Wednesday) I found some time to go and change that tire, and my experience was terrible. 1. It took them almost 3 hours to change the tire( my wife changed her flat in 30 min by herself !!! ) 2. The price was different then one on Thursday but with confronting the sale representative it was matched after second try. 3. While paying for service,I saw my car driving through drop off/pick up lobby however was park outside (waiting lobby was empty) with that said I had to wait additional 15 MIN before it was brought back to lobby. 15 min, really?! During that 15min I was walking back and forth in front of all service representatives any nobody seemed to care. 4. I thought my terrible experience was done after I left but no , after I got home I decided to check if they put the spare wheel back . They did HOWEVER , the wheel was in the trunk and not in compartment that is designed to be stored in . Again, really ?! So thank you Packey Webb Ford for your service but this was my last visit in your service department. read more

I apologize for the long read, but need to get this off my chest. I decided to get a head start on the latest Ford recall, so I had called Packey Webb (whom I purchased my car from) to request the part to be sent and a couple days later, bring in my car. Several days later, the part came and I dropped off my car. It took them a day to take care of it, and I picked it back up after that. This is where the fun begins... The following day I was heading to a wedding several hours away, and before the trip commenced, I went to fill up gas. My tank was at half full, and while filling up, it stopped after $6. I knew something was up, but we were on a time constraint, so I got back on the road and figured I'd fill up later on. While I was cruising along, I noticed when I hit the accelerator, it wasn't catching it. It felt like I was in neutral/idle for a second or two every so often. I knew something was up, so I called my dealership to explain and they said bring it back in right away. (I happened to be close to them) After an hour of waiting, the person came over to inform me the "fuel pump sensor" was stuck, and hence why I was having issues. I thought to myself, wouldn't that be the fuel pump itself causing it, but he said no. We need to hold your car over the weekend, so we will get you a rental and back on the road. Fast forward a week, and consistently checking in with no formal updates from the dealership. I was getting nowhere, and they were only telling me we are awaiting the part to be shipped. I was going to be on vacation for 8 days, and I explained to them I'd like my car to be done when I get back. They said they anticipate the part to arrive before I get back, so no worries. When I finally landed with no phone call from them letting me know of its completion, I really started to worry. It was reaching 3 weeks with no resolution, and I wanted my car back. During the 4th week, I began to panic. My payment was coming up, and I continued to get falsely stated dates for the part. I needed to get Ford involved, otherwise I was paying for a car I wasn't using for a month. I was referred to a Regional Customer Care Manager with Ford, who explained that this should not be taking this long, and they would be taking car of my payment for the month (whew!). This past week was the 5th week without my car. I began to get angry, and frustrated that I wasn't getting any updates from either Ford or the dealer. I found out the person at Ford I was working with all week was out sick, so I decided to call the dealership before the week's end to get something. He finally said, "looks like it should be here on the 11th". I flipped out. I started yelling at him, saying this is the worst customer service I have ever had. This is 5 weeks without my car. You guys continue to lie to me about the dates, and I can't handle not having my car anymore. I hung up on him... After the weekend of mulling how to approach next, I got the call this morning that the part came in over the weekend, and my car was taken care of (finally). I showed up, got in my car, and noticed it was completely dirty. The gas tank wasn't filled up, nothing. It was as if y 5 weeks of misery was there right when I got in. I was beyond furious that I had to just get away from them, and never look back. I plan to never do business with them ever again, and I hope my review allows you all to reconsider your purchase through them. They had single-handedly provided the worst customer service I have ever experienced. read more

The service department has the absolute worst customer service! I bought my 2013 focus from there less then 8 months ago and it was already having transmission problems. I had to wait a week for my appointment. I dropped it off the night before so it would be there for my 10am appointment. I called at noon to check the status and they asked me to leave a voicemail for the tech taking care of it. That was fine with me, but by 4:00 I hadn't heard anything back so I called again and was told no one had even looked at my car!! What the heck is the point of an appointment?? If you're busy I understand but at least have the courtesy to call the customer and explain the situation! The next day I call at 10 am and ask what's going on with my car. The woman in the service dept tells me "Oh I'll have to check and I'll give you a call back in a few minutes." 2 hours later no call back, so I have to call again to see what's going on. She tells me again that she'll call me in a few minutes. 30 minutes go by and nothing. I am livid now! My appointment was scheduled for over 24 hours ago and I haven't spoken to a mechanic yet! I call back and she apologizes and says she'll look into it and call me back in a few minutes. I said "Absolutely NOT!! I want to speak with a manager." Of course there isn't one available. The woman gets back on the phone and says ok your car is ready to be picked up. I asked her "How can it be ready!!! I was having transmission problems! I never spoke with a mechanic. No one ever told me what was wrong with it or what needed to be done!" By that point I thought no one had even looked at it yet! I have NEVER been to a shop with such horrible customer service. What mechanic doesn't call the customer and tell them what's wrong with their car and what needs to be done to fix it?? If I hadn't called them they would've left me completely in the dark. I understand that they're busy and cars are just a number to them, but those "numbers" belong to people. We're paying a lot of money for them and we deserve to know what the hell is going on with them. They can give you every excuse in the book (oh we had 100s of recalls come in, or not enough Techs) but there is absolutely NO excuse for such poor customer service. All I needed was a phone call to explain the situation but they couldn't even find the time to do that. I really wish I hadn't bought my car there. I will never go there again and I suggest you don't either. read more

We recently bought a 2015 Ford Explorer from here. My husband and Carl Nimox (salesman) agreed on a purchase price that did not include our trade in, taxes, plates and other fees. However when he transferred the numbers to the finance department, he did not include the trade in value. While I cannot confirm that this was intentional, I did not have a good feeling about this salesman and we visited multiple dealerships (5+) in the area over the course of a week. I ignored my instincts because you buy the car, not the salesperson. I regret this decision. By the time we figured out what he had casually done, the paperwork was signed. My husband went in 2 days later to discuss this with the manager, Todd Budish, who stated, there was nothing they could do. (Keep in mind when we wanted to talk w Carl, he was "out." But he was there when my husband went in. They also told us our old car was gone at auction, but it was sitting on the lot as he drove up.) Buyer beware. I was so pleased with my experience at Packey Webb. I worked with Jerry Kuebler, who was simply fantastic. This was my first time buying a car without my father, who used to take care of car buying before he passed, and it was emotionally stressful for me because I felt very overwhelmed. Jerry was kind, efficient, and honest, which I deeply appreciated. He helped me figure out whether it was less expensive to use Ford's 0% APR or a loan through USAA's car buying service, and it turned out to be USAA! I never felt like I was being taken advantage of. Every single person I interacted with at Packey Webb was kind and respectful, and I felt like customer service was the first priority with them. I would absolutely recommend Jerry to others and would use Packey Webb again. read more

I am giving this dealership a 1 star rating because I have been here three separate times and not once did I get any proper attention form a sales person. The first time I went there was probably two years ago to look at a new mustang. There was a row of sales people having a smoke right outside and watched me and my buddy looking at cars, getting in one, etc.. Not a single person walked up to us. I went up to one of the sales people to ask them if they had something close to what I was looking for. The guy basically said no. That was it. So I left. I did end up getting a new car, but it was a Honda. The second time I went to this dealership was with a friend who was looking to get a new car after his lease ran out on his GTI. We were again looking at a mustang but not a single person came up to us. He intelligently went down the road to Pugi and bought a new GTI. Today I just walked out after sitting around a in the new Focus ST for about 20 min with a sales guy just staring at me while on the phone. I walked out. Needless to say this is my last time at this dealership, and a fair warning to all. Maybe you get different treatment, but if they couldn't even be bothered to walk up and see if they could SELL me a car, what would they be like after they sell you one? Maybe they are just that busy and don't need more sales. Either way, what a joke. read more
