Came here for the first time and was not impressed at all! Bought at 16in Roast Beef sandwich and the bread was SO hard I broke a bracket on my braces smh! And a 16 in Meatball sandwich it was alright needed more sauce! Amazingly delicious food. Sandwich, Eggplant Parmigiana excellent. Pesto pasta on point. Quaint place, quiet and welcoming delicious desserts and nice ambiance. We placed our order and received in in a short time, was so happy because we came in just before the lunch rush and saw that other customers were receiving their orders in a short time. This place is a hidden gem. Seriously you gotta come to this place. I tried the chopped antipasto salad. $6.99 and I could not finish it all in one sitting. It is clearly made fresh in the morning. Dressing was served on the side & was very flavorful. I happened to be in the neighborhood at lunchtime, and the reviews looked good, so I stopped in. Padua is a fresh pasta shop/Italian deli combination. The pastas all looked great; I can't wait to get back to buy some. They even offer fresh lasagna sheets if you pre-order them. The meatball parm sub (my standard Italian deli order) was excellent. The meatballs were homemade, large, tender and tasty; the tomato ragu was a perfect accompaniment. My only complaint was that it was served panini style, which means that it was too messy to eat by hand. I prefer them unpressed, but, hey, that's just me. The arancini was great, but a little expensive. I got a meat filled one, and it was $6.50; granted it was large, but that's too much for a rice ball. All in all, I'd recommend this for Italian sammies, and I can't wait to try the pastas and report back. read more

The items I've had at Pers have been generally pretty good. However, I really can't stand a local business that price gouges. I'm happy to support a local business, but I ordered a sandwich today and just said I want a little bit of Italian salad dressing on the sandwich and the person on the phone told me that would be a dollar charge for a splash of Italian dressing, that's just unreasonable and price gouging. We love Padua! So lucky to have them in the city we live in and close to our home. We ordered meatball, salami, the roast beef and the Padua. We've had them all before and will continue. So much meat is put in their sandwiches and the bread is crispy French, yummy & delicious. I was reading some of the previous reviews about the service not being so friendly- well that has never happened to us in all the visits we have gone to. First time/last time at Padua pasta makers. I've seen this place many times and decided to give it a try, unfortunately none of the workers cared to take care of any of the people waiting to make or pick up orders. I waited around 20 mins and didn't even have a chance to place my order, on top of that it was going to be an additional 15 minutes to make my sandwich which would have been fine if I hadn't had to wait so long to order in the first place. Looks like a store with quality food and products but suffers from poor customer service. read more

I'm not in Upland very often, but when locals were recommending Padua Pasta Makers, I had to try them out and I wasn't disappointed. I was pretty undecided on what to get because what they had on the menu were all good choices for lunch. I ended up getting their Saturday special of lasagna with garlic bread and ordered a side of potato salad. Both were really good and really hit the spot for a quick lunch. So let me just start out by saying they are pricey. BUT...for the quality of food you're getting, it's worth every penny. The Padua special is a family favorite. I personally don't eat meat and I'm trying to cut back on the cheeses and they made me a delicious veggie sandwich(avocado, lettuce, tomato, arugula, pickles, onions and dressing. The lady at the counter said they usually put pepperoncinis, mustard and Mayo as well.) My youngest had a ham and cheese sandwich and has been talking about it for days. My other son tried their pepperoni pizza for the first time and he said it was amazing. We also tried their tomato basil pizza and it was so good. We've had their red skin American potato salad, the pasta pesto w/ roasted pine nuts, the pasta w/ sun dried tomatoes, and the pasta picnic chicken and we've loved them all. Their cookies are always good and I saw that they make some gorgeous cakes as well. This place is really cute, and I love that they offer such a variety of both prepared and fresh foods. You definitely want to come here for your Italian pantry options, but they also offer amazing fresh made pasta, desserts, and deli items. If you're not in the mood to cook, they have pre-made, frozen pasta dishes that you just need to pop in the microwave or oven. I picked up some potato salad, a pot pie, arancini, rigatoni with meat sauce, an eggplant stack, fresh bucatini, some pasta sauce, chicken piccata, and a couple of dessert items that I can't remember the names of. All tasty but I really loved the desserts and the potato salad of all things. I look forward to trying more of their food. A couple of the ladies didn't seem too happy to be there, but everyone else was lovely. Also, the potato salad was scooped into the container with a gloved hand which was unusual for me. At least it was gloved, but are there no serving spoons? They have a small parking lot, but people are in and out really quickly. read more

I visited this location on NYE and I will say the pasta was delicious, but unfortunately the customer service was horrible. Once I walked into the establishment I was rushed into the section of the store where the pasta was placed after informing the young woman greeter this was my first time visiting. It was not until 10 minutes had passed where then I was able to receive service from a representative who was not friendly at all. I went here because it look like an authentic place to get pasta, first the ladies in this place the worst attitude and walk around with stank faces the entire time. I couldn't believe they would want such workers helping people who keep their business running. Then I get my fettuccine Alfredo pasta and they serve me what's the first picture. Noodles and meat, absolutely no sauce. It's as dry as can be. How does this even get past the kitchen?!? Then I go ask if I can have a side of sauce to add so I can enjoy my pasta and annoyingly they say they don't have none?!? What? So whatever then they say you can buy extra sauce in the fridge, so I do so because I'm not going to eat dry pasta what the f**k. I pay $16 for extra sauce which is more then the actual meal itself. Then I have to ask them to heat it up. The second picture is after adding some more sauce. THAT IS HOW IT SHOULD HAVE LEFT THE KITCHEN! All the workers have the absolute hideous attitudes and have absolutely no type of customer service what so ever. You can find better food elsewhere. SERVICE: Came on an early Saturday afternoon to an empty store and Covid precautions taken by all staff, which was appreciated. First young lady who greeted us at the door was friendly. However, the two young ladies behind the deli counter were absolutely charm-FREE lol. Both were curt and clearly inconvenienced by my questions about the menu, despite no other customers being in the store. Gave them the benefit of the doubt because doing customer service sucks, which is really no excuse, but then again they weren't the single "meh" factor of this place. FOOD: We ordered the caprese sandwich and prosciutto sandwich. Now this place came highly recommended by a friend, and ended up being super disappointing. While the ingredients tasted fresh, both the prosciutto and sauces in each sandwich were absolutely bland. Now I know nothing about Italian cuisine, but I know bland is not part of the general flavor profile. Redeeming thing is that the store itself has a lot of authentic non-perishables including but not limited to pastas, sauces, and pastries. Bought a sheet of ladyfingers that were delicious, so that was a win. OVERALL: Won't make my way out here by choice, but would try other items to give it another chance if I just so happened to be in the neighborhood. read more
