I needed an urgent water heater replacement with several complexities: significant repiping, replacing and re-routing a recirculation loop, and routing the temperature and pressure (T&P) relief valve line through a tight crawlspace that other contractors flat-out refused to enter. The previous homeowner had the valve venting directly into the crawlspace, which would have caused massive water damage if it ever triggered. They also replaced a copper water line to my refrigerator, properly sizing and securing the new line to prevent the fatigue failure of the old design. Sequeira responded quickly and scheduled me within two days, despite having a full calendar. Because a replacement recirculator pump wasn't immediately available, they intelligently designed the new loop so they could easily drop the pump in a week later--ensuring we had hot water in the interim. They were professional from start to finish and thoroughly cleaned up the work areas at the end of each day. As a bonus, they noticed my decrepit-looking HVAC return air intake vents and suggested a solution to make the filters significantly easier to replace, resolving a household annoyance I've dealt with for years. I had very poor water pressure coming out of my bathtub and Capelli plumbing came to diagnose the issue. I paid for one hour of labor, (which is fine), however, I was told I'd be getting an estimate for them to come complete the job/ look for other issues when they could send a plumber with "more experience" with showers, etc. The initial interaction was great and understandable. Almost 3 weeks after they initially came - I've called twice and politely asked for an estimate and it still hasn't been sent to me, no followup, etc. I finally ended up calling another plumbing company and the issue was fixed within 1.5 hours, during their first visit. Thank you to the Capelli team, however, I don't feel comfortable using them again as I am confident the initial triaging of the main issue should not have taken a full hour when it only took the other company 5 minutes to explain what he'd be doing and fix it. I would reconsider my review of Capelli Plumbing if they hadn't spent an entire hour at my place & charge for labor only to tell me they'd send an estimate that never came. After seeing how quick the other plumbing company fixed it, I sincerely feel Capelli Plumbing did not need to spend an entire hour at my place and could've left after 10 minutes if he didn't know how to fix it. I called the company that offered trenchless sewer lateral with the highest rating and over 1,000…read morereviews. They were ready to send someone out to inspect and write a quote until I told him that we lived in San Leandro. Apparently, the City of San Leandro Permit process is not as user friendly as some other cities. I've heard that before from other contractors. Not because the inspectors are rude or demanding but because there's simply not enough of them and that slows down the process of starting and completing jobs. The person that I was talking to on the phone suggested that I called Beyond Plumbing. While their review count is very low, their score is very high. With nothing to lose, I called and left a message. We had a few conversations on the phone, met at the house, talked about the scope of the work. He arranged for another company to come out and clean out the sewer lateral to the sewer so a camera could get an accurate picture of what we were actually dealing with. That done, he offered two quotes. One based on straightforward replacement without complications. One with some trenching in the street if necessary to complete the job. Once we agreed, he called out PGE and others to come mark their underground utilities. This past Tuesday, I received an email with a couple of documents to sign for the city. Once signed and returned, we were scheduled to begin work at 9am on Thursday morning. Signage was placed on the sidewalk to restrict parking on Wednesday. The crew arrived on time Thursday and began their tasks. They came en masse in two vans, a pick-up and two larger trucks, one pulling a medium back-hoe. With two guys working as flaggers, they proceeded to do their thing. In order to maintain our sanity, we checked with them and then left, returning Thursday afternoon around 5:30pm. All the signs were gone. There was a metal plate in the middle of the street. I had received a text around 12:30 telling me they'd be done around midday and the only thing left to do was final inspection. That is dependent on the City Inspector. After inspection, the plate will be removed and the street patched. In the meantime, the connection to the sewer has been completed and we wash clothes, dishes and shower as desired. We are very happy with the service that we've received and the work that's been done. The pricing was fair and within the range that we had expected. Good job! Thank you Marco and crew!
