Gissell is not only incredibly talented in the craft of curly cuts but she is such a sweet person in general. I felt comfortable sharing past experiences as well as what I wanted this time. She listened to each and every concern I had and every step of the way made sure I was happy with the outcome. The curly cut I chose had wash and style in it and wow that conditioner massage was too good! She let me know all the products she was using on my hair as well as giving me tips on how to style my hair and what products to use at home!! Which I so appreciated because taking care of curly hair is hard! I've gotten a curly cut before and it was nowhere near this good. I will certainly be back and I can't wait to hang out with Gissell again in a couple months!

The salon's website encouraged clients to share their full hair history, and I did that because I know color can be difficult to get right. Based on our conversation, I left with the understanding that achieving my desired result would not be an issue. I want to say that I really like the salon itself. The space is lovely, the atmosphere is positive, the staff are welcoming, and the client experience feels thoughtful. Unfortunately, the color service was very disappointing. I came in with grown-out, uneven color and asked for an overall lighter golden brown with a dimensional dusty rose balayage. I also brought reference photos to the appointment. The final result was not close to what we discussed. Instead of a soft, blended look, my hair had stripe-like sections, and the rose tone faded almost immediately. Five days later, after only one wash, all of the pink is gone, and the color still looks uneven and brassy in places. See attached photos (the pink reference is what I asked for and the other 2 photos are what I got). What was most frustrating was the lack of discussion at the end of the appointment. It seemed clear that the result was not what I had asked for, but I was not shown the back of my hair, and there was no real conversation about the outcome or possible next steps. I did not raise it in the moment because I had already been there for several hours and wanted time to look at it fully before judging the final result. For a service that cost over $700, I expected something more polished and aligned with the consultation. I understand that hair coloring is not an exact science, but I do think it is important to be realistic about what can be achieved and to address it openly when the outcome does not match the client's expectations. I may still return to Fox & Rose for a haircut because I genuinely liked the salon environment! For color services, though, I would just caution clients to be very clear about expectations, share their full hair history, and be prepared that the result may not match what was discussed.

As Myiesha and I were getting to know each other and chatting, we course-corrected and went for, wow, just wow, a pixie cut with long bangs! I walked out a new woman. Go Myiesha! And she showed me how to maintain the results. To find out what I wanted, Myiesha had me search for 2026 short women's cuts for curly hair on Instagram and double-tap what I liked as I went through search results. After a while, I thought I was done reviewing pictures, and showed my page of Likes to Myiesha. She reviewed them and, in her stupendous creative mind, blended various Likes of mine into one integrated wish, and proceeded to implement it. I watched with bated breath in the mirror before me as I was being transformed in her able hands. Myeisha wanted the haircut to be light, something for me to just head out the door with, no fussing needed. I was grateful for that. Myeisha applied scalp strengthening treatments and sent me off with products to continue strengthening at home. *** Esthetics. The salon is a site to admire. It is well laid out and well appointed. A unique clock with Roman numerals, encircled in a garland of faux white flowers, decorates one of the walls. Flanking it are two vertical segments of wall painted in black (I was sure to think of the Rolling Stones song, my favorite), with flowers drawn over the black surface in white and colorful chalk.
