PAKKA LOCAL is on top of underground parking you can't miss it

Came here on a Wednesday night for the first time. Little did we know there was a pretty large private event going with people with micro phones speaking and such . However the left side of the restaurant was open for non event general public like us to have dinner. I think the service was slow and confused because most of the focus was on that large private event which was kinda loud and took up half the restaurant. It seemed they looked like they had one server on top of it. We ordered one appetizer and 3 entries no drinks or particular desserts. It took like almost 25 min for the entries, the vegetarian one came first , the shrimp came with the other 2 entries despite's us telling the server to bring it out the same time . We didn't order soda or dessert an afterwards . Our bill came to $87. No napkins on the table I had to getup and get them. No dipping sauces like chutney offered for the shrimp or Gobi bites. I personally like the water ready but it needs to be cold for my preference or iced. The food was actually good. I honestly believe we bad luck came at a wrong day and item when another even was taking the attention from our waiter and the service suffered because of it. It want their fault they just needed more staff. I do recommend this place despite all the curable obstacles we ran into. There is another new nice clean and well stocked Indian mini supermarket with all essentials you needed in the same complex. The bill is paid viaQR CODE on your itemized bill. They were good with the to go containers and explaining what the tandoori platter comes with - it's all chicken and no shrimp if you're wondering. This place can be very hidden if you're not paying attention but there is lots of parking including an underground parking garage.

A hidden gem in San Ramon if you are craving South Indian style appetizers and can handle the spicy food. Chicken 65, Garlic Shrimp, Pepper Chicken and Paneer appetizers were excellent and highly recommended. Fish Biryani was underwhelming and Chicken 65 Biryani was mid. Large space for group gatherings and ample parking.

San Ramon Pakka Local has a decent interior design, but unfortunately, that's where the good experience stopped. The chicken was blazing spicy - so hot it overwhelmed any flavor, and there was no warning given on the menu or by the staff. Literally had to stop eating as it burnt all the taste buds. My guests (3), native to the kitchen - teared. What really pushed this into two-star territory was the poor service and chaotic atmosphere. There was a line of confused guests crowding the lobby and the dining hall (see picture), all waiting to be seated with zero guidance from staff. It felt completely disorganized, and no one seemed to be managing the flow or helping customers feel welcome. Big no-no for me. I won't be coming back.

Walked into an empty restaurant around 6pm on a Sunday evening. We ordered biryani, butter chicken and goat curry. For the appetizer, we ordered onion pakoras. Those were finished fast. Service was good, and overall good dining experience. A couple notes, they seemed to be out of tamarind chutney and ice. I also overheard a man who walked in later trying to order another dish and they said they were out. Throughout the night it felt like a common theme. Just a bit odd for a dinner time. Otherwise definitely worth a try!

The ambiance is clean and comfortable, with inviting seating. Staff members are friendly, but depending on the time you visit, such as after 9 PM, they often spend most of their time on their phones, even when serving food at the table. Food also varies depending on the order. For example, during one of our visits, they used food coloring in a dish, and my finger was orange for a couple of days after eating malai kofta. First time I'm seeing food coloring in this dish. - Mangalore ghee roast chicken lacked ghee and did not resemble the original Mangalore ghee roast; it was more like a typical chicken fry. - Naan was really good. - The dosa was delicious, served with peanut chutney. - All the mocktails were tasty. They offer weekday lunch buffets, and I plan to return to try them. I would definitely visit again--especially for the food and awesome drinks.

Tried the weekday lunch buffet which is amazing! So many choices of delicious well seasoned food. Everything is cooked to perfection. They bring fresh Nan and dosas to your table. Service is outstanding and the place is very clean.

Been here multiple times in person as well as to-go and very trusted Indian place with tasty and authentic food in San Ramon!! Hariyali chicken tikka and biryanis are really good and recently tried the nimbu chicken - chicken was soft and gravy was amazing. Only thing the curry even the kadai chicken is really spicy even though if we take medium option! Overall highly recommended!!

The best thing here are the robots that bring your food! The food itself is almost as cool as the robots with rich Dahl and flavorful chicken tikka. The cocktails are done well with unique drinks and glassware as shown in the photos. I would return for both the food and drink quality. The Raita was average but I can't pinpoint why. As I a white guy, Raita is a priority in my life and as a baseline should include carrot and cucumber. Music as someone else commented, is too loud, especially at lunch. That in combination with a waiter that did not smile at all and just stared when walking up to the table with no greeting equates to the star removal. A second waiter was very friendly and attentive. Please train all the waitstaff on how to engage with your customers!

This place is basically a full bar with a full South Indian food menu. We tried the dosas this time and they did not disappoint. The service is terrific if you go during non peak times. It is very clean and there are about 30 tables. We will have to see what it is like when busy, as it looks like it could be very popular. The dosas were partly crunchy as they should be, and the fillings were great. The spices were spot on and the sides were typical, but a bit small portion wise. I would have liked a bit more sambar, for example, with my dosa.

Came here on a Thursday night with the boo. We came pretty early, so there was ample seating. You scan the QR code at the table, but you order in person. The staff was very friendly, and gave us time to peruse the large menu. #Onion dosa - TBH it was my first time having a dosa...and this was the best intro to a fantastic dish! The chutneys were finger-licking good. #Chicken tikka masala - this was one of my favorite dishes, and I loved how they also added in onion and bell pepper #Garlic naan - fresh, hot, and the perfect vehicle to eat the chicken tikka masala with #Hyderbadi veg dum biryani - be forewarned, this is spicy! But it comes with raita and masala on the side. Excellent flavors throughout. All in all an excellent meal. We will definitely be back to try more of their extensive menu! There are also some interesting Indian flavor-inspired drinks on the menu, which I'll definitely have to try as well.

We only ordered 1 item because i was a bit put off by the service for a ToGo order. The waiter carried on a LOUD conversation with the other clerk in their language. I felt no opportunity to ask about another dish or appetizers. The restaurant was rather loud with several conversations and laughter going on loudly amongst the young male employees - seemed like they were the owners. As I mentioned, the Butter Chicken was good,, but so is the Butter Chicken from Trader Joe's at 1/4 the price. Conveniently located,, but im not sure I would return,, with another NEW Indian restaurant opening across the freeway ( near SPROUTS).

This alone told me this restaurant was going to be great. The clove was an absolutely outstanding restaurant. Every single thing we got exceeded expectations. The price is also extremely reasonable and the servings are massive. The customer service is also very good. We chose this restaurant because we were looking for a place that could make Jain food for my Nani. I was delightfully surprised to see just how accommodating they are and how much of the menu can be made jain! Matar paratha - not something you see on the menu too often! My Nani ordered this and it was SO good! The peas provided a very fresh flavor, and truly reminded us of something we would eat at home. Dosa - insanely big. The filling was very good, and the sambar was probably one of the best ones I've ever had. Thali- it's not often that you find a thali in which every single dish is good. In this one, though every dish was so flavorful and so good. It was a great introduction to the food at the restaurant. Soya chaap- it was my first time having this because it's also one of those things you don't find on the menu often. It was delicious though, the sauce was tangy and had just a touch a spice to it. Overall, the food was very good. It was spicy in a way that isn't in your face. We truly loved all the food we got and the whole experience. It is very rare that my Nani actually enjoys what she gets at a restaurant, but the clove was so good that my Nani was asking if we can come back to the next day. The clove provides food that reminds you of home. while the restaurant has more of a modern feel to it, the service and food make it feel homey. When I asked the restaurant staff, they mentioned that they are now serving Jain sambar by default instead of the original South Indian sambar, which I believe is now referred to as Ratna Cafe sambar. For me, the main reason to come here was always the dosa with that authentic South Indian sambar. Without it, the experience just does not feel the same anymore. To be fair, the staff did give me the Ratna Cafe sambar when I asked, and that tasted like what I remembered. But I was told this change was a management decision. I am not sure whether this was done for cost reasons or to appeal to a different audience, but as a customer who came here specifically for the traditional dosa and sambar experience, it was a huge disappointment. The dosas are also not cheap, and at that price, I expect to enjoy the full meal. Unfortunately, I do not feel it is worth paying a premium for dosa when the default sambar is not something I enjoy. I have had better sambar at other restaurants, but that is not what I came to Mylapore Express for. I am sad to say this may be my last visit here specifically for dosa and sambar. This restaurant had a strong reputation with me, but this change has really taken away the main reason I used to like it.
