Everything we ordered was cold, the tacos were extra greasy pretty skimpy on the meat not much flavor but the salsa bar helped with that. Most of the lights in the dining room were turned off so it was dark. The patio heaters were off even though it was 50 degrees out. I'm sticking with Wahoos or Grozos when they open back up. So this place barely opened so me and my buddies decided to give it a try. They had a salsa bar and the menu selection was good. Salsa bar: every single salsa was good. Only bad thing? The most mild wasn't very mild, it was more on the spicy side. I for one recommend the orange sauce. Food: I ordered the al pastor street tacos and my buddies ordered fish tacos, breakfast burritos, and asada tacos. They do have normal size tacos too which comes with guacamole and the tortillas are bigger. And they got taco tuesdays here. The food was good. And the time it was ready was fast. The al pastor was cooked perfectly(which is the main reason we went). All the meat were high in quality and everything tasted great. Environment: I will say the tables are a little small and very fragile so don't lean on the tables. Inside is clean and you can still smell the fresh wood outside. My boyfriend and I checked out this place last night, and honestly these are the worst tacos and burrito I've had. The photos look great on Yelp, but the quality isn't there. I ordered an Arrachera burrito, it had more rice and vegetables than actual meat. Very disappointing. Their governador taco was oily and the shrimp taco was also a disappointment. We ended up here because the place next door was clearly understaffed and I was too hangry to wait. What a great discovery! I ordered the breakfast burrito. It was only $5, so I figured it was small and ordered a gobernador taco, and chips and guacamole to share. I also tried the cucumber lime agua. The chips and guacamole were good! There is a salsa bar, so we tried those out too. I would order the chips and guacamole again. The agua was very good, and made me wonder if this is what Gatorade based their pepino y lime flavor on. When the burritos arrived, I knew I was in trouble, just from their size. Way bigger than expected. The flavor was the second surprise: amazing! Hash browns, chorizo eggs and ham all mixed together in a hot steaming flavor bomb. I saved half of it for later, because the gobernador taco arrived. I would describe the gobernador as a mix between a quesadilla and a taco. It was delicious in a greasy, cheesy way. We will be back and bringing family and friends here. read more

I love street tacos! Low in calories, high in flavor. I was told "we are out of street tacos". WTF! You have the word Tacos in your name! How can you be out of Tacos!! So I asked how you make the regular tacos. They add guacamole, lettuce and onions. Ok, are the tortillas soft and dry? "Yes" I was told. The tortillas were soaked In oil. Uneatable. So with a fork I ate the contents of the chicken taco. Chicken was flavorful and the guacamole looks like it's it squirted from a bottle . Very runny. 2 stars because the chicken was flavorful. I ended up getting tacos al pastor (which was flavorless) and tacos de birria (which we're okay just cold). Maybe something else on the menu is good just not the tacos. Great food extremely rude cashier!!!

Very disappointing stuff. Unfortunately it starts off with the price. Their tacos are way overpriced. I believe it's somewhere around the $2+ for meat that is of low quality. I'm not sure if it is the meat they use or just bad cooking. Regardless, the tacos are not worth $2+. My buddy also bought an ague de horchata (paid almost $3 for a small) and it was pretty bad when I tried it. Again, Its the pricing that sets the expectation of how it was going to taste. I expected the aqua to be pretty bomb but it was barely mediocre. I ordered a carne asada fries burrito and it was the worst one I've ever had somewhere. The burrito was really small with hardly any meat and fries. Being a recently new business, I had expected better quality of food. I will say my other friend tried the taquito's and those weren't too bad. There was not much to complain about that. All in all, this spot made me feel bad for choosing it because I told my friends to go only to leave completely dissatisfied. Downtown Fullerton has quite a few great places to eat. It's extremely competitive and as such makes it tough for new places to demonstrate something uniquely different. Without that, a new taco place like this has zero staying power. I know it's new, but this should be the time to shine and say, "hey Fullerton I'm here and I'm worth $19 for two chickens bowls!" Sadly, it wasn't worth it. Pollo Loco is better, cheaper and faster. The chicken was decent but nothing special. They were out of hot salsa before 1pm on a Sunday. The picture of the nicely sliced avocado was delivered in the form of super basic guac. The wait was long, the staff were two nice enough high school students (I think) that yawned at least 10 times during my order. After seeing this place all over Instagram, me and my gf decided to finally go try this place out...it was an hour before closing but the place was packed and the vibe was pretty chill and comforting. I ordered 3 Asada tacos and 1 Gobenador taco, and my gf ordered a wet veggie burrito...the Asada tacos had great flavor. The meat was nicely seasoned they were pretty good but the meat was hard, definitely not fresh meat but they were still pretty good. The gobenador was delicious. Super cheesy with some kind of creamy sauce and shrimp . I wish I had ordered 3 of them but the price kept me at 1. It's similar to eating a super cheesy quesadilla but taco style lol. My gf devoured her veggie burrito within minutes. Now...I thought this place was so good that I decided to come back today to get the gobenador tacos again and to utilize their burrito deal which is buy 1 get 1 for $2 on Wednesday's & Thursday's. I went inside and the cashier didn't even acknowledge me. Maybe because she was too busy talking to one of the other workers. I made eye contact and it was just extremely awkward because she didn't really seem like she wanted to help me. I wanted to try the burritos and I was asking for her opinion on what's good and popular but she just looked at me like I was bothering her and interrupting her conversation. I pretty much had to force her to answer my questions and I was pretty close to just canceling my order and leaving but one of her coworkers spoke up and answered my questions and was a lot more helpful and then she just took over because the other girl clearly didn't wanna do her job...I didn't leave because I had such a great first experience last night with the night crew employees and the food was great...other than that the tacos were still as amazing as last night and I'm excited to try this bacon wrapped shrimp burrito that I ordered to eat later on...food is pretty good but I'd recommend they fire that female employee is she's going to continue to give terrible customer service and trust me, I'm not the only customer whose had problems with her. read more

Drove about an hour for this place, and not only was the food mediocre but it looked NOTHING like it does on Instagram photos. I love this place and I love the food. Birria Tacos and Birria Ramen they are in a whole new level of amazingly delicious food that makes you think about it for the rest of the week or you next return. But why one star? Their customer service. I just left Palapas about 10 minutes ago and I'm still in shock over the mistreatment and bad attitude that the girl at the register (her name is Karen based on my receipt) had towards me and my husband. Let's start with the not handing my change but slamming it on the counter as if she was trying to kill a cockroach. Next handing my food sliding it on the counter with a side eye eye roll. All I can say is her name "Karen" really represents all the "Famous Karens" that we all know and hate. I've visited this restaurant twice already and the food is simply very bad under seasoned. I can tell you guys are using good ingredients but your chef the "Asian guy" is not seasoning the food correctly. The meat, rice, salsas, everything. Before I get hate thrown at me... I've worked in Mexican restaurants all my life and can tell when something isn't seasoned correctly. Plus the beans need more love that needs to be highlight of your place!!! The wait time seems to be taking longer and there weren't that many people that day. When we got our food our tacos and burritos were barely luke warm. My friend and I really enjoyed this place on our lunch outing. I had the California burrito and he had the Mira y terra burrito. Amazing! So much food - we're each taking a half burrito home. Also got the chips and salsa and while the salsa at first glance doesn't impress, you'll be addicted. We waited 40 mins for 2 burritos. A family who were dinning in were waiting for the other half of their order for longer than i was in there. We live across the way from this place, parked and in our house within 5 mins of getting our food and it was barely warm. We had to heat one up in the microwave. The rice was stale and was hard as if it was sitting out all day. They forgot ingredients in both our burritos. Rating is primarily for my experience tonight. The service I received was less than satisfactory. I ordered over the phone and since my order was over $15 I had to pay over the phone. This is the only place I have to do this for... Anyways, I had my boyfriend pick up our order and realized once he got home that they forgot the large side of guacamole. I checked my receipt and I was charged for my guacamole and a 35 cent fee for my card transaction (this was not specified in the mandatory over the phone purchase). I tried calling 20 min before they closed to just at least get my refund. The phone was not answered after multiple attempts to reach them.
