What a delightful experience!! This little hidden gem is a one of a kind in a strip center in far North Dallas! A friend and I went in on a Wednesday afternoon for lunch. We were greeted so warmly. The waitress was absolutely excellent - knew the menu like the back of her hand. Brook was her name and her dynamic personality made our experience just wonderful! The ambience is second to none! The handblown glass chandeliers are so charming and colorful! I wish I would have taken some photos. I ordered the veggie flatbread pizza - delicious! My friend ordered the grilled cheese and it looked incredible! The quaint shopping area attached to the restaurant was so much fun! Very unique, one of a kind items. Darling lilttle gift bags with every purchase. The whole experience was just A++++++! I cannot wait to bring my sweet mother there next week. She will be beside herself with joy! read more

Wow! What an awesome find! Mother and I were looking for a new, healthier, go to spot for lunch and lupper . The food here is perfectly wonderful! We started with the meatballs, the cheese spread and bread. Both were excellent and big for small plates! Loved the meatballs and Chibbata bread. They were so sweet to let us taste the soups before we ordered, and no lie, they were all great but the cauliflower cashew was our favorite! Not only is it a vegetable but it's vegan as well. Super yummy! Mama had the grilled cheese with tomato soup and I had the BLT. The BLT came in pita bread and was moist and tasty. For dessert I had the fudge brownie and mama had the pear and apple crisp! They were so good we ate them before we could even get a picture. The restaurant is open till 9 at night and has drinks and entertainment too. Our server Brooke was just amazing! She was so helpful with the menu and made sure everything went perfect with the French press coffee I had no idea how to work one. She was a total super star! read more

This is our "go to" spot for brunch and dinner. The decor is bright and happy and just makes you feel so good. There is art lining the walls and YEP, if you love it you can take it home. I have a secret crush on the Marlboro Man w/ the red lollipop (wykyk). The lighted green trees when you enter just make you smile...There's an awesome gift shop attached and I always find something interesting and fun. They have live music on the weekends and when the weather allows they can raise the windows for indoor/outdoor seating. The menu is fresh and creative and ALWAYS good. I love the signature salad and the tomato soup and grilled cheese. The Bao and the pork sliders are A+!! Brooke and Jason treat you like family and check ALL the boxes. The drinks are creative and they always have something new. The wine list is inspired and you know these guys care as you watch them crafting your cocktails with artistry and style. Highly rated on Yelp we thought we'd try Palate for our date night. Since the website & Yelp state a reservation is highly recommended, we did. We arrived 15min early for our reservation and there was one other couple there. We were given a choice on where to sit and chose the wall booth. The woman who seated us was kind and shared the curated wine list and her favorites on the menu. We had already decided we'd just try a couple sharable plates and skip an entree. I chose a glass of Pinot Noir while my hubby ordered his favorite Old Fashioned. The wine pour was a generous portion and the Old Fashioned was served in a very smoky fashion, but the taste was just okay. + Rustico Meatballs - being dairy free, these were for my hubby. We laughed when they arrived at they were average size meatballs but they had been cut in half and there were 2.5, HALF meatballs in the bowl! What happened to the other half of the third meatball? We giggled over what may have happened to it. They tasted okay, but nothing special and we were glad we were not sharing them as it was really only two meatballs, plus the half. + Tuscan Hummus + extra blistered flatbread - I'm so glad I ordered the extra bread! The veggies were fresh and tasty, but not enough to eat the generous portion of hummus provided. The flatbread was yummy and warm and a great accompaniment to the hummus. The hummus was good, not great or special, but good. + Mac & Cheese, add bacon - before my hubby ordered this he asked if he could add a meat to make it more hearty. After the two meatballs he was still hungry (wink). He was told he could add bacon to the dish, and that sounded great. The mac & cheese was portion was okay, but the taste was pretty bland and it wasn't actual bacon pieces, but more like bacon bits added in. Pretty disappointing. + Patattas Bravas - I like spicy so this dish sounded tasty. My nose was running instantly and once my tongue took a break I tried to taste the different flavors separately as the sauce overwhelmed the dish. There were maybe 8 breakfast potato cubes in the sauce and they were drizzled with the lemon garlic aoili, which was good and I wished there was more of that & less sauce. Individually the items were good, but together the spicy sauce overwhelmed it all. Our service was great, kind and offered a smile all night long. The ambiance was creative, welcoming and the live music was really nice too. We could see this as a great wine bar or happy hour spot, but won't be back for a date night. read more

I have been to Palate for lunch, dinner and Sunday brunch. I have taken people there to experience this restaurant as well. Everything I have ordered has been delicious. I always start with the cauliflower cashew soup. All 3 of their soups are great. I also recommend the Sunday brunch quiche. Atmosphere is lovely and fun. Ok, you all, we had the LOVELIEST Valentine dinner tonight...honestly, surprising! A dear friend gave us a gift card this restaurant, "Palate by LRC, a Bistro, Wine and Art Gallery, on Preston Rd in North Dallas. This is a "Sips, Bites, and Vibes" place with the coolest atmosphere...has a walk-in wine room with some exceptional wines, and the coolest little gift store adjoining it. And did I mention live music? Everything has been thought through down to the texture in their napkins. We ordered all that's underlined in red (in pics) PLUS smothered chicken (mashed potato smothered!), AND a DELICIOUS red velvet brownie with ice cream and a perfect coffee-flavored mousse on top of it. You all. I'm a cake and brownie snob, and this was to die for! Our waitress, Cash, was ADORABLE and accommodating! The owners, Christopher and Tom are the kindest, most charming people, going from table to table, making conversation with everyone and making sure they were happy. And the chef, Eddie, did not miss a beat! EVERYthing we tried was AMAZING!!! YUMMY!! EVERYthing. I wish I would've taken more pics of the beautiful food! They also have a cocktail/wine expert that we didn't get to meet named James. Next time! I rarely take to restaurants, but I will be shouting their praises to everyone I know. What a gem! This place is awesome. My friends and I came this weekend for a birthday celebration. The food was wonderful. We shared a ton of appetizers, had several of the house made cocktails, and ended with espresso martinis. I love the vibe inside. The cool trees with lights in them really set the mood. First of all let me say I am not one who posts reviews of restaurants unless it's either an abysmal experience to warn others off or a wonderful surprising experience. This review falls into the latter category! My husband and I plus another couple tried this restaurant for lunch after church yesterday based on prior reviews. Although from the front it looks like just another store front in a strip mall, it was a bright, cheery, and eclectic atmosphere inside. We loved the bright yellow lighted artsy ginkgo trees in the center of the room and hanging Chihuly style yellow and white glass chandeliers, and walls covered with paintings for sale by local artists. The seating was very comfortable and the tables were all beautifully set to look very upscale and welcoming. The restaurant has a large entryway into the adjacent shop also filled with eclectic offerings from jewelry, paintings, fun greeting cards, home decor, etc., and we both came away with purchases following our lunch. And speaking of the lunch... we all started with Bloody Mary's (made with vodka) and Bloody Maria's (made with tequila). I had the Bloody Mary and it was one of the best I've ever had! Yumm! Each of us ordered something different from the menu and all of us were very pleased with what we ordered. I had the Bravas Bowl with the herbed chicken breast from the brunch menu. The potatoes were tossed a spicy sauce layered under the chicken and topped with a perfectly cooked fried egg where the white was fully cooked but not crusty and the yolk was still soft and runny. All of the flavors made for a delicious dish! I would love to have the recipe to make at home! Others had Cauliflower Cashew Soup, Sirtaki Greek Salad, the Brisket + Bao, and the Z + G (Zucchini and Gruyere tartlet). We were all very pleased with what we chose and had no complaints whatsoever. And the wait staff were all very attentive and prompt with our orders although it was getting near their Sunday closing time and they were not very busy at the hour we arrived (1:00P). Even though we were there until they closed at 3:00P (Sunday closing time), we never felt rushed to depart and all the empty tables were still nicely set so you didn't feel like they were cleaning up and ready for us to leave. We live in East Dallas so this restaurant is far from our own part of town but we would happily make the trip up to this North Dallas restaurant with friends and family to experience more of food and drink offerings. It would be especially lovely on a pleasant non-humid, mild spring or fall evening when the garage style window doors can be opened to the outdoors. Bravo to the owners of this restaurant! Had a wonderful evening at palate tonight. Owner, waitstaff and bartender were so attentive. Food was really enjoyable - flatbread, soup, salad. The drinks were innovative and delicious. Asked if they had something that I didn't see on the menu, which they didn't, but the bartender, Jason, said I can make that. It was fantastic and even open to suggestions to make a variation of it. My wife had the smoky skrew, and it was so tasty. The restaurant had live jazz, but not so loud you couldn't hear others. Overall, a great time and plan to be back. read more
