A stunning restaurant with high ceilings. Coffee isn't great but the food is much better. For some reason the coffee has a sour after taste. Service is great despite a large venue. The huevos rotos is a touch too salty and meat is chewy. The serving sizes are on the smaller size but plated beautifully. Make reservations to avoid waiting for a table.

Went for brunch. Service was perfect , quick and friendly. Tried eggs Benedict + bacon with medium poached eggs. Came on soft pieces of bread. Cooked perfectly , potatoes were soft could have been a little more crispy but tasted good. It is a really bright and spacious space , the front has a counter for take out coffee + baking then a host stand to dine in. There are 4 stairs from street level into the main entrance , I am not sure if it is accessible from another entrance for wheelchair. Also about half the seating is up a full flight of stairs inside.

Went here for brunch, nice ambience inside, clean and modern in an older space. Service was attentive and friendly. Food came out timely and was delicious. I had the Breakfast Burger which included cheese, fried egg, sautéed onions and roasted tomatoes with oven roasted potatoes on the side. My wife had Assam Breakfast with poached eggs, sausage, bacon, mushrooms, roasted potatoes and baked beans. We will definitely be back.

I had the mushroom truffle toast and added on a scrambled egg. Always hits the right spot! Lots of mushroom and lots of truffle flavour. Be sure to make a reso if you're going around lunch time.

What a great brunch spot. Beautiful ambience and high tea is available in the afternoon. Eggs Benedict was good, French toast was good but can use some syrup, the lamb meatballs were exceptional. The meat was Seasoned well and the sauce was amazing. Definitely one of the best lamb meatballs for a while. Our server was super sweet. Good coffees and mimosas. Definitely a good stop for breakfast or lunch when in Downtown Vancouver.

Went here on a Sunday morning for brunch, I was very grateful that my friend had got a reservation because it was pretty crowded. We were seated right away which was nice! This time I ordered their lamb bistro toast which came on a sourdough toast with a hummus spread, slow roasted lamb, cheese, arugula, and other sauces. It was really tasty but it was really hard to eat, the toast wouldn't cut properly and when it did, all the toppings would fall apart. My partner got their mushroom truffle toast which seemed really good on the menu but the sourdough was burnt which made the toast very hard to eat. Considering the only thing on this was mushrooms and hummus spread, the spread was very little that we couldn't taste it. We also got a side of potatoes which were not salted too well. The service this time was ok, I had asked the server to give my fried egg on the side but they forgot. We also had to wait 15-20mins for a set of cutlery and it took them a really long time to get our bill despite us asking twice. Maybe because they were really busy. They did give us complimentary dessert which was delicious! It was a lemon cake! Would definitely get that when I go next!

I met a friend here for brunch. I was immediately awed by the interior when I walked in - it's very open with a high ceiling and two lofts on either end of the space. We were lucky to get a table right by the window on the second floor that gave us a great view of the harbour and North/West Vancouver. The food was great! I was really craving French toast so that was what I got. I don't think I've tried deep-fried French toast before and was a little hesitant about that part, but I didn't notice any oiliness. The deep-fry gave the slices of toast a crispy exterior but they were nice and soft inside. The mascarpone praline was a fantastic topping and there were tonnes of fresh berries. Some of the specialty cocktails on the menu were really tempting but I decided to just get a mocktail. The rosemary grapefruit spritz was a nice accompaniment to my meal - refreshing and nicely balanced between tart and sweet. It's definitely on the pricy side, but honestly, given the location and setting, I was kind of surprised that the prices weren't MORE exorbitant. The staff was very friendly. They were great about refilling water, and even though they weren't dropping by constantly, it was really easy to get their attention when we were ready to order and pay. I would definitely recommend making a reservation since it was pretty busy even on a weekday. Besides the main restaurant, there's a small cafe area by the entrance that's like a mini Pallet Coffee cafe (the restaurant is a project by Pallet Coffee Roasters) with coffee, baked goods, and a few breakfast sandwiches.

Came here for brunch and their French toast was the best that I've ever had! It was super crispy on the outside but light and fluffy on the inside. It was topped with plenty of fresh fruit and I had a mocha to round it out. Also, the building, decor, and artwork is fancy and adds a unique touch to the whole experience there. I will be back for more French toast soon!

The restaurant is located in a two-story atrium with upper level seating. For travelers, you can leave your bags at the host station while you enjoy your meal. I was there for breakfast, and there was already a pretty good crowd there, but I was quickly seated upstairs with a little bit of a view of the building across the street and some green hills further out They have interesting, traditional, breakfast combinations, along with an interesting set of fancy pants toast selections I went with the mushroom toast which arrived with plenty of mushrooms, along with some hummus to which truffle oil had been added, and Green greens with little bits of colorful flowers in there I think the mushrooms are enoki mushrooms and they provide a nice toothsomeness. I had it with a one egg side that was scrambled and nicely salted with a couple little sprinklings of some green thing. The server was friendly and efficient

I came here for breakfast while staying in Vancouver on business. Since I was carrying a travel bag, I felt a little confused when I was led to the second floor. The store staff put my travel bag on the first floor, but I started to worry. There were several customers eating on the second floor. The woman in charge was very polite and made me feel comfortable.I ordered an almond milk latte and mushroom toast for a small meal. After a while, my order was brought out. It looks great, but you have to eat it with a knife and fork. The sourdough was hard and I needed more sharp knife. I couldn't eat very deliciously. I would like to try something else next time.

Yes beautiful, but not much of a latte...certainly not a double!

Nothing standout as so amazing to deserve 5 stars, but consistent and tasty. I did have a reservation which they charge $10/person for, purely for donation to a charity and does not contribute to your meal at all, and also nonrefundable. While I find this somewhat annoying, I dont blame them for doing this from a business standpoint. They always have a lineup so there is no shortage of customers for them. There is no reason they need to deal with the headache of a ton of reservations. I was meeting a friend here yesterday who's visiting from California, and when deciding on a meeting place, we realized a bunch of the Gastown coffee roaster places were closed on Sunday, so I mentioned Breka , knowing it was opened 24/7. (LOVE this!). Plus, this site is close to Waterfront Station, and my friend had a busy day planned, taking the Seabus to N.Van and doing a lot of sightseeing. So this Breka was perfect. I was there early at 10 am-ish, and from the outset, I was impressed: exposed brick wall, long counter and display case, fully stocked with the most beautiful pastries and tarts and cakes, and lovely looking sandwiches, too....Just lovely. I ordered a tea from the guy taking the orders. At the check-out, the woman working the cashier was the most unfriendly, aloof person I have ever encountered at a Breka. She was downright dour. Never looked up, never smiled, said I owed X for the tea I ordered, gave me a receipt and said I was "number 3", no "thank you" (despite my saying thanks!), nothing. She looked really unhappy and bothered to be there. (I sat at a nearby table, waiting for my number to be called. I saw her interactions with all the people behind me - and there were quite a few, as it got suddenly busy in the cafe. She was cold and unfriendly to everyone in line as she rang them all up. These are mostly tourists! Why have a dour, borderline-hostile woman at the check-out counter of a busy cafe in a touristy part of our city? I just don't get it). Anyhow, I waited 10 minutes to hear my number called, but I never heard it. I walked up to the take-out area and there was my tea, on a receipt that said "number 3". Did they call out my number? I honestly don't know. I was seated at a table a few feet from the area and listening for my number and I didn't hear it called. I was not impressed with this set-up. Not at all. My friend arrived and got a chocolate concoction which looked amazing, and he loved it, so there's that. I still love Brekas but I probably won't return to this site. Between the cold experience at the cash and the prolonged waiting for my order (a cup of tea!), and not being sure if my order number was ever called, it just all left me with a bitter taste in my mouth.

Although we came at a peak time, all front of the house staff we encountered -- from the hostess to our bubbly server, to the smooth manager -- struck a perfect balance of being in flow, working flawlessly together, and maintaining light conversation with us. Exemplary. 5 stars out of 5.

Tasty!! We just got…read moreoff of a cruise and were looking for somewhere close for breakfast and stumbled across this place near our hotel. We were having gorgeous weather in Vancouver so we decided to eat on the covered patio. The place is pretty cozy, but was only moderately busy when we went. They have a pretty good menu with lots a Benedict's and a build your own breakfast option that seemed pretty nice. I took the recommendation from our server and got the bacon benny. It did not disappoint. I think I have recently discovered that I love poached eggs and these were perfect. The yolk was nice and runny and the white was firm but not hard. I like to cut in to my egg and have it run down and get messy on the plate. The hollandaise was excellent. So many breakfast places will serve it broken, but not here. It had the perfect amount of lemon, butter ratio for my taste and I really enjoyed it. The bacon was good, not to salty, and the english muffin was, well, an English muffin from a package that they toasted and out on the plate. I did splurge and paid the extra dollar for the truffle potatoes and they were very good. I love truffle oil on potatoes so I am a sucker for it whenever its on a menu. You just cant mess it up. Fried potatoes, truffle oil, and a lemon squeeze to bring it all together. My wife got the brunch burger and she loved it. It was a messy breakfast burger that a lot of places have but this one was done right. A poached oozy egg, on a burger patty with american cheese, the best burger cheese in my opinion, bacon, hollandaise and arugula on a brioche bun! It came with tater tots and they were nice and crispy just like she likes them. Well, why didn't I give it five stars you may be asking? Great question. Here it is, each plate came with a side that was just awful. Mine had some "fresh" fruit that nearly made me laugh. It consisted of the saddest, limpest piece of watermelon I have ever seen this side of a trash can. I also had an old crusty orange wedge and a single grape. My wife got a slimy side salad that I think was holding on for dear life. Both, we deemed inedible and moved on immediately. I think there is a rule, or at least there should be one, in restaurants that if you wouldn't eat it then don't serve it. There might be another one that says if you eat rotten food maybe get a different job and see rule one. Overall, we liked the place and would go back. We would just avoid the salads and fresh fruit and stick to the food they cook.
