LOVE this place. We go regularly as a family and whenever out-of-town visitors come and we want a place that will please anyone. By far the pizza is the best we've had in Seattle, my husband can get his boring traditional pizza (pepparoni & olive) while I can a simple, fresh and fantastic pie with fresh basil and tomato, on a crust baked with with mozz, olive oil and garlic. Their Ceasar is also very fresh and flavorful, without going over the top with too much richness like so many places do. The pastas are made fresh to order and come out billowing warm and wonderful aromas. I also love how great they are with our young children, always making them feel welcome and anticipating their needs. After a couple visits they began to recognize us and now we feel like it's OUR restaurant. read more

My wife and I dined at Palermo on a Saturday night. The owner greeted us warmly, bringing us a few options of white wine to taste. The warm homemade bread roll has always been my favorite. The Mediterranean Salad is a must and always fresh. When we asked to substitute the pita bread on the hummus plate for extra cucumbers and red peppers the server smiled and obliged happily. The server was very attentive, polite and friendly. The owner checked back with us and we asked him about the pizza options. He recommended their new gluten free crust. We always look for such options since our daughter is sensitive to gluten. The pizza was delicious! The NW tap offering of Mac & Jack made the experience even better! I really love this place. I have shown up tired and a little worse for the shopping before and received the same service as on my dressed-up nights on the town. I have had the same, sweet, eastern-european waitress on all occasions. She is prompt, smiling, and ready to refill water or replace a dropped napkin. She does not grimace if I suggest that I could possibly split a dinner with my companion. The food is very good - lots of well-flavored sauce on the pasta dishes, nice big salads, meaty ravioli and lasagnes. The portions are generous. The atmosphere is nice but also comfortable for families. This is my #1 downtown Ballard spot to stop before or after a movie. They also deliver which I have not tried, yet. read more

I haven't had a good pizza in a long time. And then I found Palermo, conveniently on Market Street five minutes from my place. I am telling you, this is THE REAL DEAL. We had their special on extra large-PEPERONI, HAM, BLACK OLIVES, ITALIAN SAUSAGE and mushrooms Me and my buddy couldn't finish it all .GOOD,REALY GOOD (thin, but not too thin) crust ,fresh and tasty toppings ,nice amount of mozzarella ALL you can ask for a perfect pie. + 2 pints of Moretti... and I am in.... heaven. I work from home on Fridays and just wanted someone to bring me something hot and fresh at the end of a long week. Decided to try these guys since it was close by and the menu looked good. After the 1st order, which was delivered fast and was amazing, I have been ordering every Friday since. If you want to try an appetizer, my favorite so far is the chicken parmigiana - it's the best I've ever tasted. Just ordered delivery from there. Did this last week and food was hot and delicious. This time the linguini special was horrible. The dish as a whole was dry but what made it horrible was the rock hard chicken. Almost broke a tooth. To make matters worse, I called the restaurant, prefaced my complaint with "I don't want anything" and the person on the line argued with me! Said it was impossible that the chicken was hard and dry. I generally love this place and everything I've tried here has been great EXCEPT the nitro cold brew. I've sampled on two occasions, thinking I got a bad batch the first time. Unfortunately the second time was just as bad as the first -- very acidic and bitter, hardly tastes like coffee at all! Stick to their other drinks and you will certainly be pleased.
