I had the worst experience today. I've had a membership with palm beach tan for years and have ALWAYS had such amazing service in all locations. Today I went to Petaluma and was treated poorly by Jessica. Last month, my membership charge didn't go through because my card on file expired. I had cancelled my membership shortly after and did not give a new card because i planned on just doing single tans going forward. The women i spoke to on the phone did not mention anything about needing to pay the balance prior to cancelling. It was my fault for being confused because I was under the impression that because I hadn't tanned, and cancelled my membership, that it would void the balance due. I understand that maybe I misunderstood who I spoke to on the phone last from customer care. Today I went into Petaluma to buy a single tan and Jessica informed me that I had a balance on my account. I was surprised and so I (kindly) asked if I paid it, would that mean that I could tan for the whole month? (I was confused so felt it was a valid question and i honestly wasn't defensive or resistant about paying it at all- just wanted to ask) She then decided to repeat my question I asked in a very condescending way , as if I was completely stupid to ask such a question. There were 4 other women in the room and I was so embarrassed with how she was treating me. She said, "I'm not sure what you're asking me but you can't tan until you pay. Clearly your card must have declined or.." I cut her off before she finished to tell her she was being rude to me. Even if my card declined because I didn't "have" the money, i would be mortified for someone to publicly announce it so boldly in front of others. I think there is a respectable way to word issues with payment to your customers. I work in customer service and would never embarrass someone or talk to someone the way she spoke to me. She was very belittling to me. I'm really not trying to leave this dramatic comment, but I honestly just haven't had someone treat me so bad in the longest time. I have only hone to a tanning place twice and this was years ago in the 80's. I recently decided to do spray tanning and chose this place. I walked in and the customer service was wonderful as well as her instructions was very thorough. I walked out feeling as if I was glowing and love how I look and feel! read more

I had been here once before and to be honest, it was not bad (circa August 2014?) I came in less than a month ago asking to sign up for a month of tanning before a wedding, which they told me I could not do. Instead, the girl told me to sign up for a month, then cancel it "before the 25th" so that I would not get charged for a second month. I SPECIFICALLY asked multiple times if this would allow me to tan for ONE WHOLE MONTH (since that is what I was initially paying for), and she just kept repeating "yes, as long as you cancel before the 25th." It was very strange, she must have said it about 15 times, and I still wasn't sure that she understood what I was saying. Anyway, I came back a couple of days later (before the 25th) to cancel and was assured that I would still be able to tan for the month that I had initially paid for. Well, I came in after the 1st of the following month (June) and was told I could no longer tan, and was not offered a refund of any sort. Instead, the same girl from when I signed up tried to offer me a week of free tanning, but said that she wouldn't be able to talk to her supervisor/manager about a refund. Essentially, she was trying to pay me off with a week of tanning so that I wouldn't complain to her boss (very unprofessional). The whole thing was very sketchy, and the room I ended up being in was not clean (i.e., the towel was dirty and the eye protectors were broken). I will NEVER be going back to this place, don't waste your time or your money!! My advice to management: train your employees on proper customer service, and maybe screen prospective employees a little more thoroughly. read more

Super super disappointed with the staff. I used to love everyone that worked here, I've had a membership for almost two years now and just canceled because the other week I came in at 7:40pm and I always come in at that time or later because I live out of town and get off of work late. I've always been able to spray tan at that time but When I came in a week ago the new purple haired front desk girl (i believe her name is Morgan) told me they take their last spray tans at 730 because "it takes a half hour" to clean the spray tan beds which obviously isn't true because I've gone into tan later than that multiple times. I drive 30 minutes to get my tan. You guys close at 8 which means you should take service up until the very last minute. I've gone where the front desk girl was super nice and she even had people over closing time. Not happy, cancelled my membership not worth the drive anymore if there's going to be rude front desk employees. Mind you I work on customer service and I know how to treat loyal customers and I disagree with the way she handled it. read more

Saved my day!! Tonight I was stood up by a small business spray tanner and remembered that my cousin had sent me a referral email for a free tan! I was welcomed in, at 9pm(!) by Claudia at the front desk who helped me thoroughly from the moment I got there to the moment I left. This was my very first spray tan and was a little nervous- but that quickly subsided as I was guided through the process and given private, clean rooms to be in. Claudia have clear instructions and had no issue helping me when I didn't understand the machine... lol, thanks girl! I left a member, have great products to help me with my future tans, and am so excited to have found them! I leave for Hawaii in a day and all of the stress is gone because of how accommodating Palm Beach Tan was. Now I'll be able to maintain my gorgeous tan. THANK YOU!!! read more

When I came in on 5/12, it was crazy busy! At first the selfish side of me was annoyed but when I saw that there was only one poor girl working I started to feel bad for her and my annoyance subsided. She was working her tail off! She was doing the best she could considering the mass influx of customers at that time. It turns out prom was this weekend and all the young girls were there to get spray tans and that's why they were so busy. The girl who was working (Cheyenne) was SO SO friendly, smiling and pleasant and did not show how stressed I'm sure she felt deep inside. She used excellent prioritization skills and even though a group of 4 girls were in line ahead of myself, she realized they were there for spray tans and the mystics were full anyways so she had them sit down so she could assist the other customers in line who were there for sunbed sessions. She was being very efficient, professional and friendly. She never came of as frazzled or agitated by the circumstances. I think Cheyenne deserves some special recognition from her managers for her excellent management of the situation. I have worked in a customer service type job before and you can't always avoid these types of crazy busy moments but all the matters is how gracefully you handle it. A+ to Cheyenne. I will definitely recommend PBT because of her. I would also like to add that the horrible review that was left by the girl on 5/12 (the day I went) is a joke. I recognize the girl in the photo (she was one of the prom goers waiting for a spray tan). She complained because she had to wait and other people were helped first. If she actually listened when the girl talked to her, she would have realized other people were being helped first because they were getting other services that were available. The spray tan rooms were occupied at the time and it was physically impossible for them to go in them at the time. I don't know if she is just complaining to get free stuff of something or if she was really just that oblivious to realize what was actually going down at the time. I hope that ignorant girl's review doesn't get Cheyenne in trouble because SHE DID ABSOLUTELY NOTHING WRONG! read more

I have been coming here for six months and recently I have had a couple terrible experiences. The first was with the store manager herself Brittany. On Sunday's they close at 6, I arrived at 5:45 and she said that they take their last tan at 5:30! What kind of B.S. is this when they have 2 spray tan machines!? It takes less than 10 mins to get a spray tan. Tonight I had another poor experience with Morgan who has an awful attitude! I arrived at 7:34 and she tells me she took her last spray tan at 7:30! I have always come here around 7:40 during the week and have never had this happen before. I walked out and called The Rohnert Park location and spoke to Samantha who was extremely kind and said come on in! I arrived at 7:55 and she was extremely friendly with top notch customer service! This petaluma location needs to step it up and I highly recommend a management replacement! Their service is UNACCEPTABLE! read more

I love this place but I think they need to have more than 1 girl on duty around 6:30ish because there was a line out the door and I was there for exactly an hour no exaggeration. Jena was super amazing and was still super nice and helpful and moving fast it wasn't her fault there were so many people. I give her 5 stars. read more

My experience was excellent. The two young women who helped me worked wonderfully together and sold me on everything. They were (are) well versed in the product(s) and super patient and efficient. They were great at multi tasking (dealing with 3 customers at the same time) keeping everything organized and smiling the whole time. They felt sincere. Every time I come in it takes forever. They need to employ more people or add more beds. A long wait if you pick the wrong times. I guess that's what happens when there aren't a lot of tanning salons in town. Walked in to ask about services ten minutes before they closed. The "assistant manager " greeted me mid conversation on the phone asking for my log in info while still on the phone. I told her I just wanted some pricing and info and she paused and with a valley girl voice ( still on the phone ) and says qell...we are a tanning salon and started rattling off tanning bed info. I told her I was interested in spray tanning and asked if she wanted to finish up o n the phone so she could help me. She seemed taken aback that I wanted her to finish her call and said (think valley girl) " Um...this is kind of an important call!" She then said nothing more on the phone and hung up the call as I stared at her in disbelief that wanting info about what they do had caused this type of attitude. She then said, we close in ten minutes so you can come back tomorrow to get info!!!!! I told her I didn't appreciate her attitude and would not be back but before I left I had to listen to her threaten me with the right to refuse service and then tell me she is assistant manager because she has excellent customer service! First rule of good customer service is to be nice to the customer and second is to admit when you are wrong! So I must disagree with Claudia on her idea of good customer service. Let's hope the actual manager can see that they just lost a customer due to bad attitude and terrible customer service. Dissapointing because I just moved down the street and was hoping to make this my new go to tanning place. read more

This place stunk. My fiancé showed up the day before our wedding. The Hours said 8AM-8PM and no one showed up until 9:00AM. When she arrived she just said "Yea, I slept late." And didn't even apologize. Then she gave us nothin but attitude as my fiancé tried to pay. And to top it off, it was their "Customer Appreciate Week." Haha. What a joke. Overall, I really like this salon, the beds are always clean and the staff is always friendly but it always seems like they are understaffed. Only 1 or 2 employees to handle a full lobby plus process and turn beds. Management should be able to gauge when high volume hours will be and schedule accordingly. The prices are reasonable and the customer service is great, it's just hard when you know there will be a 20-30 min wait because the girls working are overwhelmed with the high volumes. read more
