I'm a current tenant at one of the J Realty properties and man, do they know how to run a business…read moreor what. Excellent communication, top notch execution, and perfect follow ups... they stay on top of things. Michael, Matthew, Dylan, and the rest of the team, are solid. They will work on your behalf to get the landlord to do things. I recommend them 100%

I've spent 6 months trying to resolve a parking issue at one of JRealty's properties, and the…read moreexperience has been incredibly frustrating. Management admitted in writing that another tenant was given a second parking space in error on their lease. They also admitted they recommended removing that space because it was causing problems. The vehicle associated with this improperly assigned parking space occupies an area that is not identified as a parking spot on the parking map that was provided to me by management. Instead of being parked in a designated space, the vehicle extends into the common driving and maneuvering area tenants must use to access their assigned parking spaces causing daily risk damage to my vehicle. Whats even more revealing about this company is how the issue was handled! I repeatedly raised concerns that the parking arrangement could present code, safety, or fire access issues. Rather than addressing the problem directly, I was told management was waiting on city inspection results and that those results could affect the outcome. Months later, I was informed that the inspection they had me waiting for was actually a habitability inspection and that the specific parking location I had been complaining about was not one of the spaces that was evaluated. Think about that! I was led to believe the inspection would address my complaint, only to later find out that the disputed parking space had never been reviewed at all. I spent months waiting for inspection results that never actually addressed the parking issue at the center of the dispute. Even after admitting the parking space was assigned in error, admitting the situation was problematic, and acknowledging that the disputed space wasn't evaluated during the inspection, management still has not provided a meaningful solution. I have attached screenshots of the emails so people can read the correspondence and draw their own conclusions. Based on my experience, get everything in writing. Keep every email, save every photograph, and document every interaction. The only reason I was able to uncover the inconsistencies in management's explanations was because I maintained a complete paper trail. Without it, this would have been reduced to my word against theirs.

MMA-McElroy Management Associates - Mold covering belongings throughout the house

Horrible. Awful. I lived in a moldy house that ruined most of my belongings and made me sick. I was…read moremoving anyway, Anna McElroy told me that I would be given my deposit back. As I result, I didn't retain counsel. My mistake. Anna charged me for removing all the moldy, ruined clothes and furniture and sent an invoice that said, highlighted and underlined "no mold." Please, please, please, if you deal with this company and there's a problem: GET A LAWYER!!! I'm sure they'll respond with something sleazy about how I'm a liar or how I'm wrong but ask yourself why I would waste my time writing this review when I've already moved. I have nothing to gain. The property I lived in was owned by Wind and Sea or something so I'll be reporting both to the BBB, Google reviews, etc. when I get time because these people are disgusting. Here's some mold for you to see. Remember, they may clean it but they won't remediate it so you will be living in moldy home with ants and MMA will tell you it's your fault. If any repairs get done, you will have to call the repair people and take time off work, FYI. Feel free to message me if you want more information about dealing with this company and the property.

This is THE WORST MANAGEMENT COMPANY ever!! I honestly don't even know where to start. I gave them…read moreone star because I had to to leave a review. The property that I live at in Redondo Beach has a whole 6 units (not big or difficult to run), yet half the time our dumpster is NOT emptied and even when it is, there's still trash left all over which has created an issue with rats. I've emailed and submitted work requests only to have them ignore the problem but they say the work is "completed" on RentCafe. We're now on day #2 of the management co locking our only dumpster and not providing any of us tenants with a key. I've emailed Anna & Brittney & I've also submitted work orders with NO RESPONSE! NOT ONE! Our laundry room is disgusting and it took months and months for MMA INC to even get a trash can in it. We pay $2.50 to wash and $2.25 to dry. And half the time the washer doesn't spin the clothes out enough to be able to put the load directly into the dryer. You have to pay another $2.50. MMA INC has no one come and clean around the property, dumpster or the laundry room even when emailed or submitting work orders. The only way the laundry trash is emptied is because I take it out. That's not my job! And I had to submit multiple work orders requesting the light to be fixed. Our rent was raised $150 on January 1, 2022 & then again on September 1, 2022 for $275. So in just 9 months our rent went up $425 (15.5%). Yes, you read that right. Our rent was illegally raised twice in one year. One of our neighbors decided to move for obvious reasons and they listed her unit (which they did minimal "renovations" on) for $1000 more than the rest of us tenants are paying. We are currently paying $2900 and they're trying to rent that unit for $3900. Clearly they are trying to force us all out so they can price gouge someone else and it's sickening. Seeing the owner of our building comment, (Michael Fisher) raving about these people is 100% laughable. And the unit that had a catastrophic plumbing issue was mine. So for him to say his building was already in good shape is a total lie. It took him 2 months to have our only bathroom fixed after our ceiling completely collapsed in the bathroom due to an ongoing leak from my neighbors upstairs. When they ripped everything out you could visibly see mold. We were told that our apt was still habitable without our ONLY bathroom. When asked where are we supposed to go to use the restroom or shower? They said walk down to the bathrooms at the beach or go to your parents house that's only a few blocks away. We were never offered alternative housing and were still expected to pay our rent. If you're a renter and you see this company, RUN!!! If you end up deciding to rent from them be prepared to have no one coming around on a regular basis to keep the place up, to deal with being unable to use the dumpster for your trash oh & get the longest lease possible so that you don't get hit with huge rent increases twice a year because these people are driven by straight GREED!
