Somewhere between pickups, drop-offs, and arguing with GPS, I made it my personal mission to stop into mom-and-pop pizza spots, grab a couple slices, and give an honest review. My rule of the road: If I deliver it, then I've gotta try it first. Panatieri's Pizza & Pasta in Warren? They're doing it right. I went with the plain thin-crust slice, because if a pizza place can't nail that, nothing else matters. The crust was thin, crisp, and cooked just right--not floppy, not dry. The sauce had real flavor, and the cheese was perfectly balanced--just enough to satisfy without dripping down your hand mid-bite. That's a small detail, but it's the difference between good pizza and great pizza. This is classic Jersey pizza done with care. No gimmicks. No nonsense. Just a slice that makes you nod after the first bite. After delivering food all over the state, I can confidently say Panatieri's deserves a spot in the mom-and-pop hall of fame. Petty experience! Today I went to grab a sandwich and since its was a nice spring day I picked up a sub next door. I wanted to sit in the sun and in front of Paniteries are about 6 tables and 20 chairs. Only one other person sitting at the far side. My handy cap vehicle was also next to this side. Started to enjoy my sub when a young lady came out and told me these tables were for Panateri customers only. How petty can you be. If this is how petty they are I see why their rating is so low. I'm a very frequent customer of the Panateries in the next town and I can assure you I'll "NEVER" be a customer at the Warren store. The pizza here is exceptional! I love the huge variety of slices and how creative the toppings are. Yes I am team pineapple on pizza, and they have that here! My current favorite topping is the salad pizza which has red roasted peppers, garlic, tomatoes, spinach, and basil. The flavor is amazing! I come at lunch and get a couple different slices and eat on the iron tables outside on the sidewalk. The staff has always been polite and efficient. I recommend paying in cash because there's a discount. I have not been to the restaurant part yet but I plan to try it. There's a big free parking lot. This restaurant is located in the corner of a large strip mall right at a main intersection in Warren. read more

We ordered delivery via Grub Hub. This was our first order from Panatieri's. We thoroughly enjoyed the food, but I am holding off one star since we haven't tried the pizza yet. The food arrived quickly and was packaged very nicely! We ordered antipasto di casa, no olives. It was delicious and fresh! They give you a choice of dressing, but oil & vinegar is traditional to me. The garlic bread with cheese was delicious and garlicky, and I liked how they cut it into pieces rather than a loaf. The bread was soft and not too dry. I got the meatballs, which were quite dense but had a good flavor. You get two, but they are a good size and come with sauce. Panatieri's sauce is delicious, btw. Last but not least, my husband got the lasagna. It has meat in it, but not too much. Cheesy enough and moist. There is a good amount of sauce on it. My husband loved it. Update: we ended up getting a pizza a few days later. We felt the sauce was too sweet but the toppings were generous and tasty. The crust was thin and sturdy. They put an extra blob of sauce in the middle of the pie so your first bite is mostly sauce. Loved the food, pizza was just okay. read more

Terrible experience! I ordered a chicken parm sandwich with extra sauce loaded and this is what I got! 1 small chicken slice on the bread. Please see attached picture. So, I ordered a pizza tonight for pick up and was there in 10 minutes to pick it up and it wasn't hot at all. I don't know about you, but I like my pizza to be hot. I did notice the box wasn't hot but I left to get home and watch the Grammy awards. I was very disappointed and won't be ordering anything from them again. Pizzeria with a variety of different pies sold by the slice. There's also a dining room that serves great Italian dishes. They have wonderful specials during the week: on Mondays, entrees (includes a salad) are 1/2 price. Choices include seafood, eggplant, chicken, veal, and pasta dishes. Such a deal! On Wednesday, entrees are $9.99. Another great deal. We went on a Monday night. My husband ordered the tasty chicken parmigiana, which arrived covered with a wonderful sauce with lots of chunky tomatoes. I ordered the veal maddalena (sic) which came with a rich mushroom sauce studded with sun-dried tomatoes. Lots of buttery goodness. What's not to love?!? Both entrees came with a salad and a basket of bread for the table. We left well-fed and happy. We'll be back! read more

The food is delicious! I have been coming to this pizzeria for years and their food is pretty consistent. The pizzeria part has some interesting and yummy pies! There's so much to chose from like ceaser salad pizza, penne vodka pizza, and so much more! My dad loves the sit down restaurant area of Panatieris. You'll see him there every Monday night hitting up the half off dinner with my my mom or brother or who ever will go with him. Unfortunately with covid, he has not been able to go in over a year. The servers and waitress have got to know him over the years and memorized his order. They are great people and so friendly. Not that easy to find really disappointing pizza in North Jersey, but their Brooklyn Pie was an example. Ordered from here because Uber Eats sent a 50% off coupon, and apparently this was the only pizzeria in the area honoring the coupon. So it appears what I received was the 50% off version of the pie, or now I know the reason they were the only pizzeria anywhere near me participating in the special...or both! For starters, the pizza was more cold than warm by the time it was delivered. Not sure what happened as the pizza arrived quickly despite the restaurant being 5 miles away. Perhaps the distance was the problem. I assumed Uber Eats would have insulated bags to carry hot pizza in the same way many other delivery pizzerias do, but apparently that was a bad assumption. OK, the pizza being cold was likely not the restaurant's fault, but: Their Brooklyn Pie was advertised as "Sliced mozzarella topped with sauce, touch of olive oil, grated cheese, and oregano." But there was absolutely no grated cheese that I could discern, and what little mozzarella there was had little taste. The olive oil and oregano were there in appropriate amounts, and the sauce was decent, but for the most part it was as if I was eating pizza dough with tomato sauce...lots of tomato sauce. Maybe I just don't know what a Brooklyn Pie is? I did ask for the pie to be well done, and at least they got that right. read more

I very rarely leave a bad review, but felt this deserved it. The food was very good. The service and the restaurant itself were not. The music was so loud in the order area that it was impossible to hear or be heard. We decided to sit in the dining room which I guess was a mistake. The workers at the front were thoroughly enjoying themselves. The language was loud and inappropriate and the music was blaring. When we asked to speak to a manager we were told they wouldn't be in until Tuesday (4 days later). I understand that most of your business is take out, but perhaps your staff needs to be more considerate of the few people that are actually IN the restaurant, or just do take out. I will not be coming back in a hurry. Glad there are other locations locally. read more

Absolutely amazing.. we have 5 kids and this is our no fuss pizza go to..the eggplant parm slice, the white with broccoli, and of course a classic plain slice are our favs. The garlic knots are great too. The people working here are particularly extra step friendly when the owner is there I noticed, because my very first experience was just regular grab a slice and pay and go which was fine also.. but every time after that when the owner happened to be there, was extraordinary. I can tell the owner himself takes a lot of pride in his place and keeping customers happy. read more

Stopped in for lunch on a whim and it was like walking into a pizza paradise. Pizza on top of pizza on top of pizza. So many toppings, so much variety! So the restaurant is divided into two: dine-in & a separate nook for pizza-only customers. Extra brownie points for offering outdoor seating (even for the pizza customers)! I walked up and down (at least 3x) indecisively because everything looked THAT good. I went with a Chkn Parm and Jersey slice (I think that's what its called). The squared Jersey slice was nice and crisp with this amazing red sauce on top. So flavorful! Too good to stop there - I had to get a taste of my coworker's pizza too. Chicken Caesar and White Pie w/ Broc was also very tasty. Their crust is killer. What a great pizza find! Can't wait to come back for more pizza paradise! read more

Well it's been awhile since I did an update. I know Panaterie's has multiple locations, no two are exactly alike. The Panaterie's Restaurant in Warren in the center of town Is the one I frequent all the time.. I stop in for lunch , or dinner sometimes I call in my order as I'm driving home from the beach. Anytime I feel like a slice or sandwich it only takes 5-10 minutes and out the door I go....The pizza here is always done right..not to doughy and baked golden.......The slices are large and they pile on the toppings which I love. They have a large selection of toppings that they offer on their pizzas. They have more then a dozen different cooked pizza in a glass display as you walk in along with wings,garlic knots, and Stromboli's. Panaterie's serves basic Margarita Pie to Tortellini Alfredo Pizza, Baked Ziti Pizza, and Sausage n Broccoli Rabe Pizza or you can create your own... My favorite pizza is the Eggplant Parm Pizza. Crispy Eggplant slices layered on top of sauce covered with dollops of fresh Ricotta and fresh Mozzarella Cheese. If you love eggplant like I do , you must try it...The Buffalo Chicken Pizza will knock your socks off, a little on the spicy side and topped with creamy ranch dressing.. The BBQ Chicken Pizza is another good one...Panaterie's has Thick and Double Crust Pizza. I sometimes order the Greek salad on top of flatbread it's like having your salad and bread too..Panaterie's makes Calzones, Sub Sandwiches my favorite is Prosciutto, Fresh Mozzarella , Roasted Red Peppers,Balsamic Dressing on Italian Style Sub Roll. I get lettuce and tomato on mine..Their Italian Sub along with Chicken Club on Italian Style round bread, aka ( pizza bread) is delicious too..I've tried both the fried Calamari, and Antipasto Salad both very good.. The Calamari is very light and not greasy. The Antipasto has lettuce with assorted Italian meats and cheese and veggies If your looking more for a dinner they offer that too. My favorite is the Chicken Marsala, and Chicken Franchise. Both come with soup or salad and a side pasta. The price are very good. All food can be taken out or you can eat in the pizzeria area, or if you prefer there is a dining room with full staff.. There is also seating outside..I really like the staff, they are very friendly, and remember me every time I come in.. I've eaten so many items on their menu and have always enjoyed their food..... Outside the pizzeria entrance is a blackboard with daily specials, certain days of the week many items are discounted..You can find coupons all the time in the local paper ...... Probably wouldn't be my go-to to order a pie. Also, they had two giant plates of chicken wings sitting out next to the pizza-- they looked as if they had been sitting out for a while-- probably wouldn't order those. read more

Very large selection and assortment of pizzas and sandwiches, as well as daily specials and soups. Fair prices! I paid just under $11 for a special slice and a sandwich. Both were an excellent lunch. Environment was very nice - classy look, outside seating, large dining room, two entrances and exists. Very comfortable. Staff was friendly and nice, they seemed to all be friends - a big group of guys were all working and joking. Overall, very nice. And they serve seafood! read more

My fiance and I have visited this location a couple times, mainly because it's local and the food is not bad. A while back I ordered the baked ziti with sausage which was way too rich but decently flavored. I would probably skip this next time as it was a little too much for my taste. This past weekend though, her and I revisited this location and ordered a pizza. I've ordered reheated slices for lunch before which were bland and lukewarm. The freshly ordered pizza out of the oven is actually pretty good and definitely the way to go if you visit here. The sauce is a little bland but the dough and crust are top notch. The small Caesar salad I ordered along with the pizza was blah, way too much dressing, drenching the entire salad. There was also a strange odor permeating from the dining room which we couldn't quite figure out what it was. I would describe the smell as a bowl of cumin mixed with a sweaty man and thrown together as an air freshener. Was very unpleasant and I almost asked to move. My fiance even asked if I could visit the bathroom to see where it was coming from but I couldn't quite pin point it. Luckily, the pizza had enough garlic to make up for this distraction and saved the day. We'll be back again for some pizza when we're having a craving; hopefully though, the smell will be gone. read more

Our server exercised poor customer service. When we paid the bill at the end of our meal, the waiter had the nerve to question us about our alleged lack of tip, for a party of four. I left $13 on a $64 bill at the table, and instead of looking at the table, he started to chastise us on the lack of tip and said that there was a mandatory 10% gratuity for our party size. How quickly his attitude changed when one of us mentioned the tip was on the table. It all happened so quickly that I wish I had realized what occurred as I would have gone back to the table and take the tip away. I waited tables. It's a thankless job and I learned that there are a million and one reasons customers do/don't tip, but you should never confront the customer on the topic! Very disappointed, and I'm afraid we will not go back. Just as an aside, what's the deal with mandatory gratuity on a party size so small? I can understand 8+, but 4? read more

We order a large pie for $17 with ham, ricotta, bacon and it was good BUT THERE WERE AMERICAN SLICES ON THE PIZZA. I'm so confused why there was American cheese on my pizza and it got to the point where I had to eat around the cheese and just go for the yummy ricotta bites. Please stop putting American slices on your pie, or at least tell your customers when the pie comes with it! Walked out of this place just as fast as we walked in. We saw the sign that said the dinning room was closed until 5 pm. But it was 100 degrees outside, and some wanna be said we had to eat in the pizzeria section. Mind you there's only 4 tables that look like you bought them from Walmart, and there was 2 sets of screaming kids infront and behind. We said we were here for full course dinner but the wanna be didnt care. We were to order 2x as what the total combined customers were there. We asked a second time, if we could sit in the dinning room, and he started to get all pissy, started walking back and forth and started to cop an attitude. So we just walked out and went to a local place that was better. You need to learn how to run a place, and think that you know how to run a place if mommy and daddy bought it from you. Spoiled little wanna be. As they said extreme poor customer service, lesson #1 you never turn away customers that spend doubled what the people in there are. Big deal, people are going to go in the dinning room any way and the waitress there was there sitting down doing her nails, it was not like she was running around in a 10 foot area of (4) 2 seater tables and (1) 4 - 2 put together. The food did not taste good, the bread that we got were slim finger breads and not Italian bread. The garlic knots were over soaked in oil. We will not order from here for pick up again. read more

This is part of the chain but each location is very different b/c I think the owners make their own versions. Out of this chain the best location is flemington, next would be martinsville. So as for this place.. Their sauce is gross/bland in comparison to flemington and martinsville. So this directly screws up their pizza / subs review. Pizza- Anything with red sauce I wouldn't order again, my friend threw his out b/c he though they were gross. I learned this the hard way when I had a plain slice to put them through their paces. The only pizza I actually thought was good, was the arugula chicken pizza. Its thing crispy chicken cutlet diced, arugula and some white sauce which I have never had before. It was different and good for what it was. I would go back for this. Sausage and broccoli rabe pizza- It tasted good except for the sauce. The only thing I would do if I were them, it would not have the broccoli rabe drowning in olive oil, the grease from the cheese, sausage and broccoli rabe was to much. If you are in warren, this is a good place to goto but I personally think their sauce is way off. If you ever try this plain pizza, then if you are in flemington at their other location. When I walked in, I saw a generic picture of a coal or wood-fired oven as a mural. I was wrong. Their oven is out of service. This Panatieri's exhibits much better than it's Martinsville counterpart. Both are rather normal pizzerias that push out mostly pies and generic American-Italian fare. The pizza crust is definitely good, although I would never order the 4-cheese pizza ever again. No pizzeria in NJ/NY (even Philly or CT) should ever, EVER put Kraft American slices on a pie. In the NY-tri-state area, only franchise joints are mundane. I would not come back for dinner or pizza, unless for their weekly specials. (We came on a night when there was a BOGO1/2, but went with Pizza because of the reviews). They should kick it up a notch. They are in one of the wealthiest towns in the US. They're doing something really wrong if they're struggling. (I.e.: get your wood-stove working) read more

Went for a pizza pie and calzone. The plain pizza was better than La strada, but the onion and pepper Topping was undercooked. Lastrada used much better cheese In their calzone, the cheese was like Rubber. Was also surprised to have Paid $25 for what I got. Service was good and friendly but the pizza was garbage. Flavorless and you could tell little to no effort was put in making it.

I am leaving only one star as I believe you have to on here and the food is very good. I have gone to several Panatieri locations but after tonight, the Warren location I can say is only good for pizza to go. We were a party of eight and sat down in the dinning room and there was only one other table seated, we put in our order and after waiting longer then one should, they bring out half the orders and the other half which were a Stromboli, two slices of pizza (all of this was already available on the pizza side) and an anti pasta salad came out ten minutes after the hot dishes were served. No apologizes or we're sorry, nothing. We also asked for bread while waiting and the tables they were just seated got a basket but we got nothing after two requests. Fast forward to the bill, that was the quickest thing to appear at our table. When the waiter brought it back for it to be signed, he so graciously tossed it, (yes, tossed it) to the middle of the table, rather than placing it in front of me as he did when he brought it over the first time. Not the manager or waiter mentioned taking anything off the bill after all the complaining we did on why a slice of pizza or a cold salad shows up ten minutes after a chicken parm dish.
