Sadie is amazing! We are from Las Vegas and came here with a group of 6 after riding our horses all day. Starved at 8pm awesome Sadie ran around like a chicken with her head cut off trying to take care of the ENTIRE restaurant with no help from management ( Angelo was on duty, I asked). With still no sight of Angelo helping out with servers and dyer need if bussed tables, our food was still delivered hot and good by again Sadie the one man show. Pancho and Lefty's is amazing. If you want authentic mexican food, with a great ambiance and professional, yet friendly service, this is the place. You will be treadted well with a great family eating area in the main section of the restaurant, and a full bar off to the side, no matter who you are with, or what you would like, you can find a great seat. The servers meet you once, and they know your name and remember you down to your preferences for food, etc. Lupe, B.J., Ben, Luis, Letti and Sammy are there for many shifts, and Saul, Angelo, Maria and Cesear run the show. While we had to wait for a little bit of time prior to being seated it was worth the wait. I also understand that every restaurant in St George seems to be packed on Friday and Saturday nights. I had the lefty's burrito, it was great and the carne asada inside was delicious. The service was great and our waitress was very attentive about making sure our drink glasses were filled and the chips and salsa bowls kept on coming. The portions are not huge by any means, but if you are starving you may want to consider ordering some sort of combination plate rather than an a la carte item. I'd be happy to come back! read more

Great, fast and friendly service. Not pleased with the food. We were in the mood for some Mexican as we were passing through the area. Was hoping this would hit the spot and it did not. Between 5 of us, none of us were satisfied with our meals and the chips and salsa was just okay, which was a bummer because that's a huge part of the experience we look forward too. They were quick to get us in and get our orders, the waitress was friendly and helpful the food was just not good. My family & I have come to this restaurant since I was a kid. The staff has always been friendly & attentive. The food is ALWAYS amazing. We have never had any issues like the previous comments. Yes, sometimes the wait is a bit lofty when they are busy. In my opinion, it's going to be that way with any busy restaurant on a weekend night. Even then, the servers still take good care of us. We usually go a few times a year & again, have never had any issues. Their chips & salsa are to die for, the meals are always hot, & the quality of food has never decline. I have been a huge Mexican food lover for as long as I can remember. I've been to multiple restaurants all over town & they don't even come close to Poncho & Lefties!! 3 out of 5 ordered a meal with steak. They had no steak. The kids had chicken tenders with fries. The fries were terrible and the chicken tenders looked like chicken patties. Asked for a salsa and the waiter had no clue what we were talking about and brought a different salsa. I had a shrimp cocktail and had to ask for a spoon and the spoon I was given was a teaspoon. Let me just start by saying I hate leaving bad reviews, but with this place people need to be warned. I usually give a place a few chances because everyone has bad days. We were sat at a table with a dirty sock and dirty utensils underneath the table. Our server seemed like every word out of our mouths weren't being acknowledged. Took 20 minutes for my family to get their beers after being reminded twice, (there were maybe two other tables in the restaurant so they werent busy) and for the food.... the chips and salsa were the best part. I ate my food, but I was starving. Nothing tasted fresh. I later found out my sister got sick that night and puked. Before we ordered we told our server there would be two checks, not complicated at all. When she delivered our checks she said "I probably got this all wrong, so I can fix it if you want" total laziness. We all still gave a great tip, because like I said earlier, every place or anyone has a bad day... but with my experience being almost the same every time I visit I WILL NOT BE RETURNING. read more

My second time coming here, I gotta say they are understaffed like all business's are after Covid, but the staff are trying. The chips & salsa were so good! My girls and I landed here on a road trip after our first choice, Green Iguana, had a 45 minute wait and our second choice didn't serve beer. Waitress was not good and was a bit rude initially. Prices a little high for a Mexican restaurant, specifically on the kids menu. Food was decent but took a long time to come out. The shredded chicken quesadilla was not very good and was a bit soggy. The Pancho burrito had a very good flavor, but needed some of the quesadilla fixens (guac/sour cream) to make it complete. Tacos were good. Beans and rice were very good. Bar looked decent. Even in despair-do not eat here. We were starving and this was the only restaurant available; it should have been our first clue. In a world where most people cannot find help. This restaurant had three waitresses sitting in a booth talking and texting, when we walked in; 2nd clue. They were cars in the lot (looking back it was probably staff) and no one else dining; 3rd clue (but remember we're starving and apparently stupid ). We sit down and the waitress was very friendly and attentive. We order Margaritas (complete mix, almost no tequila); yep 4th clue. My husbanded ceviche and asked if the fish was fresh; the lovely waitress replied "I have no clue, I guess I can ask someone;" 5th clue. So what did he do, he ordered the ceviche. Rest of us ordered basically rice and beans, afraid to risk it. The food came, one would think quickly, being we were the only ones in the restaurant, but you would be incorrect in that assumption as we were. My husband took a bite of the fish, and said I don't think this is fresh. I tasted and nearly gagged (I literally got sick when we returned to the hotel). They were kind enough to remove it. We asked for the check, the waitress asked if we wanted dessert. NO THANK YOU we all said in unison. Finally, we got it and went to DQ for dessert. read more

I don't know why the bartender still works here. The bar looks like they stopped mid construction and forgot to finish. I would have asked her, but she was busy in the back making drinks, prepping, and cleaning. It's surprising considering the location is right next to several hotels that don't have bars or restaurants. In order to sit at the bar, you HAVE to order food so we ordered chips and salsa $3.95. This restaurant had great potential, but in the end my wife and I were very dissatisfied. First off, the parking situation is abysmal to say the least. Next, we were seated right away, got our drinks and when we were selecting what we wanted to eat, the server informed us they were out of pork for the pork tamales that my wife had wanted to order. We waited at least an hour for our meals. They were good, but not delicious. Definitely not worth waiting more than an hour for them We had also over heard another guest, who was seated about a half hour after us order the pork tamales, receive them and had the waiter verify that they were in fact pork, which to our understanding they were supposed to be out of. The overall experience was very disheartening. We had received no concrete updates as far as wait times on the food. We will not be returning to this restaurant in future trips to St. George. read more

I was really surprised at some of the negative reviews because our experience was great! Service was fine and there were a ton of authentic mexican choices. I decided to take a risk and get the chicken in mole sauce. I'm normally not a fan of mole but this one sounded good and I wanted to give it another chance. So glad I did. The food here is pretty decent Mexican food. The chips are bottomless until you said no more which is a great bonus. My fiancé loved the food here, i personally loved the cocktails! The cocktails are fantastic and well priced. The bar area had TVs and the server was really nice and professional. The food took a little long to get out, but it was a fun atmosphere either way.
