This review is strictly based off a honeydew milk tea I ordered. Service and ambiance are okay but that drink was disappointing. It's one thing for me to assume it wasn't tea based but it's another for the drink to be lacking. I don't have anything against powder mixes but I essentially paid $7 for highlighter green skim milk. The nondairy creamer in the powder mix they use wasn't enough for a satisfying sip. In my experience, jasmine green tea with a solid nondairy creamer and actual honeydew syrup would perform a lot better than instant drink mix and hot water. read more

We came here on a weekend evening and there were about 20 people in line. However, there was only one person working, who did a great job, don't get me wrong, but the fact that she was the only one working was pretty sad. She was trying her best but there was just too many people wanting bubble tea and not enough staff. We noticed that most of the boba tea is made with powder. However, the passion fruit tea was pre-made and there was a vase of it ready and since we ordered it with less sugar, they simply put less added sugar into the tea. The bubble tea is fine with a good amount of pearls, though there could have been more. Been having a rough week, so I decided to treat myself to a boba tea and a cheesy sandwich. For drink I ordered a Green milk tea w/ 50% sugar and with boba, and food I got the Caprese Panini. The green milk tea was fine, your normal floral green tea with lots of caffeine and creamer in it. I enjoyed it. The boba was good. Chewy but soft. I would get boba tea here again. The panini was also good, bread was a bit soggy but I enjoyed the mozzarella cheese. I haven't had cheese in awhile so I liked it. It did feel little oily and heavy so I didn't finish it though. Cheerful pop music is played loudly inside this micro store. You order from the counter from one of the sweet-natured attendants , and within five minutes out comes your delicious bubble tea. I can't speak to the food, but the bubble tea is just about perfect. Each order is made by hand, and sealed in the traditional fashion. You'll get such joy out of popping your straw through that plastic seal, it's the purest childish joy that you can have for under $10. There's a huge variety of flavors. I posted some photos of the menu so you can check those out. My only complaint would be that most of the ingredients are not super healthy for you. If there was only some way to have more natural and organic ingredients that would make for perfection. Prices are a bit high, probably because of the location. But overall it's still about the same price as a high-end drink at one of the national chain coffee stores. Much more delicious than your typical ice tea or coffee! And a bit of fun variety in this area. They also participate and a bonus points app that ends up being a pretty good deal. Purchase five and get one free! Their bubble tea is so delicious and they put a generous amount of tapioca into your drink. Sometimes, the line is long, especially when it's rush-hour. Was looking for some bubble tea on Yelp after a stroll in central park and PBT was the closest in proximity. I decided to give it a try and was pleasantly surprised. I got the plain milk tea, which is my go-to when I'm trying any new Boba place to see how it compares to others. It was just as good as many other more popular places I've been to (KFT, Gong Cha) and tasted pretty authentic. Like any Boba place, I recommend getting reduced sugar, as the regular amount can become very sweet. I usually opt for 30-50%. PBT also has a unique line of drinks called Fizzteas- I once tried the lychee fizz with boba and it was pretty refreshing. I'd describe Fizzteas as fruity sodas with a slight tinge of tea. I was kind of excited when I read about this place opening up and offering FizzTea, their branded set of carbonated drinks. Can't say that I've seen carbonated bubble tea/drinks before. On my first visit, I asked the employee taking my order what FizzTea was (to make sure it wasn't something I didn't want). She didn't seem to understand what I was asking so I asked if the drinks are carbonated. She still didn't seem to know what that word meant and had to ask a guy making the drinks to talk to me. He confirmed that FizzTea drinks are carbonated. I ordered their Lychee Peach FizzTea with regular pearl bubbles/boba. I am not sure if this drink has any tea or if it's just lychee and peach juices or syrups, but I liked the flavors because I really like lychee and peach. It was on the sweet side so I could probably cut back on the sweetness level. I also really liked the carbonation (actual bubbles) in this drink, but I don't think I would like carbonation in a cream/milk drink. The boba were on the smaller side so a lot of them would get sucked up through the straw. They were also too soft bordering on mushy for my preference. Another time, I ordered the lychee peach FizzTea again but asked for grass jelly since I didn't like the pearl boba. Unfortunately, the grass jelly was pretty mushy too. This time, the employee making my drink had to ask the cashier what my order was, and he had to ask me for my receipt. I'm perplexed why there isn't an ordering system that employees can look at to expedite and why they needed my receipt to figure out my order that I just placed. It took a really long time for the girl to make my drink as well as she didn't seem to know how to make it. The cashier guy took another person's order and made their drink and I still didn't have my drink. I also tasted a sample of their Thai tea that a manager/owner was handing out. The boba in the sample was still pretty soft for my taste and the Thai tea tasted powdery but not creamy. Their menu signs say they use non-dairy products. My addiction for boba always leads me on an adventure to find some. Today it led me to the underground market to Panda Bubble tea. In the hot and sweltering subway station, my fiance and I perused through the cute shops when we happened to find Panda Bubble tea, a small concourse that might be easy to miss if the underground market were busier. However, we were first in line and placed our order with a patient and friendly worker who helped us with the menu and rewards check-in. After using the Yelp discount (15% off with check in), my large almond milk tea with boba and 70% sweetness came out to be $5.08. The drink was fairly good. The drink was smooth with a good ratio of milk and tea, but the almond taste was there, but not as strong as other almond teas I have had. The boba was medium sized, and had a good chew and bounce, but was not sweet when eaten. This may have been because I got the drink early, and the boba was fresh out of the pot without having been able to sit in its syrup for long enough. In the stuffiness of the subway area, the drink was very refreshing, and I think we will be back again to try more flavors. Thanks Panda Bubble tea for making our day with a refreshing drink. So far I've ordered their milk tea, rose milk tea, and their rose black fruit tea. Tea is meh, tastes light and consistency is on the watery side. I typically order only 25% sugar but I still find all of their teas overly sweet. It's most likely due to Panda's boba, they taste especially sugary. Their menu is extensive including milk teas, slushes and fruit teas as well as some snacks like grilled cheese sandwiches. Prices are great for UWS/Columbus Circle location - 5.25$ for a large slush. Like most other bubble tea places it is a little too sweet for me personally so I recommend 25%-50% sugar. I also give them props for trying something new on their menu (Fizztea), but too bad it didn't taste very good.. Fyi: I only had the Peach Black Fizztea with bubbles though, so I'm only judging based on that. I do love that they use molasses and honey on their bubbles.
