Prior to watching a movie, I had a quick bite at this Panda Express in the mall. I had the a bowl of stir fried noodles and string bean chicken. The noodles were good and had decent texture. They were seasoned well but were missing that smoky essence they normally pick up from a hot wok. The chicken was pretty good. It was tender and tasted good. The green beans were a mix bag. I walked up and placed my order for a 2 item. The girl working asked me what entrees I wanted. Since the broccoli beef was empty, I asked if they were going to make any more. I couldn't hear her response, so I told her I couldn't hear her. She didn't speak up the 3 times I let her know I couldn't hear her. When I finally could understand what she was saying ("it will take about 5 minutes to cook"), I said okay and paid, and waited. My receipt time showed 5:33pm. As I sat there for 5 minutes, I witnessed the server telling the cook that she needed broccoli beef. Another 5 minutes go by, and still not done. After waiting about 15 minutes, she starts filling my to-go plate with the entree, next to the cold chow mein and chicken I initially ordered from the beginning. When I got home, I was extremely disappointed. The broccoli beef entree was undercooked broccoli and 3 tiny pieces of beef with stabbed on oyster sauce. It was inedible. I can't say that I was very impressed, but what do you expect from a Panda Express inside the food court at the mall? I guess it would be acceptable to expect a typical PE experience, but I didn't set the bar too high, given the location. I will be back, as I am a big fan of Panda Express and will give them another shot. Next time I hope to see a good supply of fresh food and them not scraping the bottom of the bowl to fill my order. I ordered the Beijing Beef with mixed vegetables, which is usually what I get every time I go to any PE. Both tasted as though they had been sitting there for a while waiting for a poor sap like me to order them so they could finally fill them up with fresh food. Looking for a free refill on your beverage? Not going to happen at this location. They wanted to charge fifty-three cents for a refill on a medium soda. Update on 9/15/19 Stopped by this Panda Express again and this time an employee by the name of Jessica was doing the exact same thing. Sadly it seems as though too many of the employees at this location do not realize the importance of hand washing prior to serving food. Especially after they have just soaked their hands in a red bucket full of nasty, dirty water that most likely has not been changed all day. Very disappointing especially after the management was supposed to rectify this. Star decreased your 1 Star. For starters this is Panda Express. It's fast food but it's usually decent. The food is almost always fresh, the helpings are generous, and the employees do their job (minimum wage can't expect a lot). However, the sole reason for my lack of stars is due to my experience today. When I walked up to their counter the young lady serving had her hands in a water bucket and she was wringing out a towel. I looked at her and asked if she was going to wash her hands before serving food. She stated: "the water is sanitized I don't have to!" I immediately said hmm I've never heard of sanitized water how is it sanitized and she said it had chemicals in it. First of all: employees must always wash hands before serving food. Next: In order for water to do any sanitizing it has to be 171 degrees which if this water was that hot she would not have had her hand in it Also: if the water has chemicals in it as she stated it would be even more important to wash your hands. Her name tag had no name on it, she was the only employee wearing a name tag with no name all others had their names on it, and I've seen her there before so she wasn't new. So I asked the young lady at the register what her name was and she replied Sandra. She asked why I said she did t wash her hands, at that time Sandra came over, said her hands were in the water bucket and she didn't need to wash them. Now this location is extremely busy. It would be a shame if they had a contamination issue simply due to an employee refusing to wash her hands. I have no idea if the issue was bad training, maybe whoever trained her said she didn't need to wash her hands or maybe she is simply ignorant and does not realize a bucket with chemicals does not make something sanitized. We also like the spring rolls and get some sweet and sour sauce for them. And their fortune cookies are to die for as well. Here's a tip: wait until 8:55 to eat and you will get a to-go box STUFFED with food for $5. right before closing they pack all the food in the bins into to-go containers and put it on top of the glass divider. So far I do not have a negative review to say to panda express in Fletcher parkway. I like the whole menu, but my favorite items include the deep fried orange chicken, the fried rice,walnut shrimps. I order a plate with two entrées and one side. I always order the orange chicken. The sweet, tangy, crispiness of the deep-fried chicken is delicious. I find that I pick the broccoli beef for my second entrée. The broccoli is perfectly steamed and mixed with strips of beef sautéed in a ginger soy sauce. There aren't as many options for sides, so I like to mix it up between the fried rice and chow mein - whichever carb I'm craving more. Both sides are light, yet flavorful, and I appreciate that they're not doused in sauce. But what I love the most is the appetizers; I love to indulge in the crab rangoon. If you can't make up your mind, Panda Express can help you out. Customers can sample any item on the menu before ordering it. Some abuse this practice. One time, I stood behind a man who sampled every item behind the counter, then left. That's one way to dupe the system. The best part is the price: You get so much for under $10! Panda Express thinks they're slick, I ordered a 2 entree meal and chose Brazilian beef. They have so many onions and peppers in the dish that you don't get enough meat.
