We come here all the time. Food is always made fast, fresh, and good. In my party we always order sweet fire chicken, orange chicken, noodles, and fried rice. I appreciate that they offer brown rice as an additional option. I mean, I never order it but my son does. I order cream cheese wontons sometimes. I'm not too crazy about the sweet and sour sauce that comes with it though so I eat them without it. This location has the worst service! No fake smile will help them. I was quoted five minutes because they were out of my favorite Tofu Eggplant but instead it took 20 minutes for a Vegetarian dish!? The cook was too busy preparing meat dishes. I was quoted five minutes for the Tofu Eggplant. They are always out of food when I go in no matter what time it is. Fire the prep cook and the cook who prepares the food. Their prep cook is a rookie and sloppy because the pieces were not cut properly in sizes. The result was dry Tofu and some eggplant pieces not cooked. No sauce on it either. Terrible! It always had sauce! (The La Mesa location next to Vons is just as bad). The manager was lame when I told her about the food she did nothing to accommodate me. I ordered two items and the contents of the box clearly looked like one. I asked at the counter and they said it was two and ignored me afterwards. Ripped off!!! The tofu pieces took up most of the section in the to-go box. Ahhhhh! Nothing is more inviting than the potent smell of Orange Chicken. After you're lured in you see a refrigerator full of fresh cut veggies that I want to just open and eat every last bit of with a fork and side of hummus. But I can't. So instead I order half of their veggies with white rice and then move over to my protein selections. The veggies are always hot and perfectly firm. They're not smothered in oil like most places tend to do which counteracts any healthy-ness. Then moving over to protein galore, Mushroom Chicken and Chicken Teriyaki always catch my eye. The mushroom chicken is filled with chicken and pieces of mushroom and zucchini. Not overpowered with veggies though which I love. Then they pull whole pieces of chicken for the chicken teriyaki and cut it on the cutting board for you as you order. It's cooked in with a teriyaki glaze which makes it deeelicious enough to not have to use extra sauce. I'm normally not a fan of teriyaki, but I can not leave here without ordering it. Always a good alternative when my friends say they're Chipotle'd out. read more

I should have known that going to Panda Express when my diet is on meat elimination was a bad idea. I just didn't have any notion of the fact that Panda Express had all of TWO meatless options on its menu. Those include the Mixed Veggies, and the Honey Walnut Shrimp. I went to this place on Good Friday because I was left with little options and only needed something small in order to tide me over for dinner then a movie later that night. When I ordered the Honey Walnut Shrimp, though, this place was running low on it, and the cooks didn't have a fresh batch on the ready for customers. So a lot of us ended up waiting for that specific entree, and the backup resulted in a line out the door, which is the first time I've seen something like that from any Panda Express. Really poor in terms of the kitchen staff readying itself for a lunch/dinner rush and backing up certain popular items. read more

Another bad experience at this Panda location. I went today and made an order. Food was cold, but my biggest complaint is not about the food. Its about the bad customer service. The staff there dont understand the meaning of smiling when talking to a customer. When I was checking out, I asked the cashier to give me two chapsticks, she only gave me one. I asked her for three fortunate cookies, she gave me only two. I told her I want extra sauce, she tells me "I gave you some". Then she put some more sauce. I called later and asked to speak to the manager , told her about what happened. Her answer was we give customers all what they asks for, maybe the cashier didn't hear you. I found the manger answer another example of how bad customer service at this location is because she should have apologized and talk to her staff about the importance of customer satisfaction. read more

Panda Express is now in Rancho San Diego. It is in the Ralph's Shopping Center. The place is nice and cozy. I had the Kung Pao Chicken with light sauce. It was very good and the ingredients were very fresh. The rice was loose with just a little bit of stickiness which I like so it clings to my food and chop sticks. " It is A Little Better Now " I went too the Panda Express in Rancho San Diego to get some chinese food orders. I ordered the BEIJING BEEF which is crispy beef, bell peppers and onions in a sweet-tangy sauce. I also ordered the HONEY SESAME CHICKEN BREAST which is honey sesame chicken breast made with thin, crispy strips of all-white meat chicken, tossed with fresh-cut string beans, crisp yellow bell peppers, in a sizzling hot wok with a honey sauce and topped off with sesame seeds. I also ordered a side of CHOW MEIN which is stir-fried wheat noodles with onions, celery and cabbage. I also ordered some VEGGIE SPRING ROLLS which have cabbage, celery, carrots, green onions and chinese noodles in a crispy wonton wrapper. The Beijing Beef was very tasty and tender, the Honey Sesame Chicken Beast was disappointing as the taste was almost nothing. Very bland with very little sesame seeds ! The spring rolls were tasty but a little soft and mushy instead of crispy, and the Chow Mein was good. A lot better than the last time I was here. read more

What a great location for Panda Express! The staff is amazing, the food is on point and the dining area is spotless.

There is this older Asian lady looks to be 60 to 70 years old, that always serve smaller than normal portions every time I come there! I even stopped coming because of her, if I see her when I walk in I usually turn around and leave But on this particular day I came in and I saw that she was helping the person in front of me not only was she giving generous scoops but she was giving extra half a scoop on each entrée so when it came time for her to scoop my serving we were back to the less than normal size scoops, I don't expect any more than i pay for. So I mentioned to her can you put a little bit more on there also like you just did for the man in Front of me, her reply was a we don't do that but I'll give you some extra this time and she literally scooped one extra piece of meat into each entrée that I had ordered so I called her out on it and said yes you do that because I just saw you do it with a man in front of me she looked at me and had a smart remark and I have not been there since and I will not go back there ever again and I will be contacting corporate and reporting her because she does this to me and I noticed other African-Americans every time that I go there it's not sometimes or hit and miss it's every time. She acts like it's her dishes and she has to ration out the food. I USED to eat there at least 3-4 times a week. No more. It's only this location. read more

This location is probably the cleanest branch I've ever been to. Though I never had the chance to actually dine in as I always order my food to go. The servers here are a hit and miss. Rosie rocks! I even thought she was the manager. Some of the employees should take a sample from her. Always friendly and attentive. Some of the employees here are kind of annoying because a couple of times I've been here I've seen some of them are just behind the counter talking to each other even there is a long line. Now, their food is really good. I always order the orange chicken and beef angus steak. Their shrimp is of additional cost. Also, if you feel like the food in their counter is not fresh anymore as per your standard, you can request them to cook you a new one. You will have to wait sometime of course. (not sure though if it they do it near closing time.) Now the reason why only 3 stars is the fact that they are expensive. I mean yes the food is good but their portion is really bad. The guy is very stingy scooping the items. I didn't get his name but he is the worse. Also, it's nice that they ask donation for Children's hospital but what I don't like is being put on the spot. Ask me if I wanna donate, fine, but don't ask me for a particular value. "Do you wanna donate $2??? Food on average is good, selection looks old/dry on occasion but they will make a new batch if you are willing to wait. My only complaint is regarding the 2 older Asian women that have been working there for awhile. They are beyond annoying... if they see another employee giving a little too much or one extra shrimp (they give you 7) they will actually take your plate away from them and scoop some of the food back into the warmers. Very unprofessional to say the least. On top of that these women are very lazy. On more than one occasion, the beverage area has been very wet with water/soda spilled all over the counter and on the floor. I always bring it to their attention and they never clean it up, customers are walking on the wet/slippery floor- its an accident waiting to happen. I told one of them and they said they were "too busy", there was NO ONE in line at the time. So what she meant was she was "too lazy". She made a younger/new employee clean it up. I also feel that the employees should not be macking out in front of the customers, with their feet up on the chairs, talking on the cell phone. We were there around 6:40 on a Thursday night. Noticed that the adjacent Chipotle has closed and is now vacant. We saw no line coming out the door but discovered that the line was inside and snaking through the seating area. It was not moving and we stood there for at least 30 minutes. Ridiculous and I still don't know why the hold up other than they could have used more help. In the middle of the rush, a server left to empty the full trash can and left the can open which blocked the line that we were in. Still, during the rush, the employees seemed friendly and helpful and the food as always is good. We will be back but the convenience of it gets to the point of it not really being convenient at all when you have to wait this long.
