Build Your Own Plate - 2 Half Sides ($10.60) Chow mein, kung pao chicken, and orange chicken
    Darrell P.

It's exactly what you'd expect - cheap, Chinese fast food. That should sum it up for most people. If you're looking for made-to-order dishes, this isn't the place. Instead, you'll find trays of entrees and sides sitting under heat lamps. As the saying goes, "You get what you pay for." The reverse is also true: "You're going to get what you chose not to pay for." If you don't want to spend $20 on an entrée order of orange chicken and opt for the $11 three-item plate instead, that's fine - but don't be shocked when it doesn't live up to high expectations. I went to Panda Express with realistic expectations and left satisfied. Build your own plate ($11) - https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?userid=O6EBodP3Fgu_n67efSKnBQ&select=7pI8bm4VQGqGWKNHrFM9qA Again, Panda Express is exactly what it promises to be - fast, Americanized Chinese food at a reasonable price. If you come in expecting gourmet, authentic flavors, you're setting yourself up for disappointment. But if you're craving a quick fix of orange chicken, chow mein, and kung pao chicken, Panda Express delivers on consistency. Photo (detail) - https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?userid=O6EBodP3Fgu_n67efSKnBQ&select=aoGq1Ufw3NZdR8XLDYAQwg The restaurant itself is clean, and I find service to be rather efficient, though peak hours can mean a bit of a wait. The food, like at all Panda Express locations, sits in steam trays, so "freshness" depends on timing. Sometimes you'll get lucky with a fresh batch; other times, you can tell it's been sitting for a while under the heat lamps. The portions are decent for the price, but don't expect anything beyond what's standard for the chain. Some customers come in expecting restaurant-quality Chinese food and leave disappointed, but that's on them - this is a fast-food chain, not a fine dining, sit-down eatery. If you're looking for a quick and predictable meal, Panda Express does the job. Just manage your expectations, and you'll leave full and content. - Big Aloha! This is disgusting they gave me a square bowl and not a circle bowl. The workers were rude. I am not going here again.

I ate some but honey walnut shrimp, chow mein, and broccoli beef.

Who doesn't like Panda! This food is delicious. Service was great! When they were out of honey walnut shrimp, they didn't hesitate to make me a fresh batch. Good people man. Very satisfied customer.

What in gods green earth is up with these portions? Just to let you know, this is with two entrees. Notice how they pack on the filler (fried rice) and give you the utter most weakest of portions. I just read another review where they did the same thing at this same location. I would rather have corona virus than get these despicable portions of entrees. Now I have to make a second dinner so I don't still have an appetite. I just took a bite of my rice, absolute shit, not cooked. Not my panda... *EDIT* Just opened my fortune cookie. "Don't be tempted by shortcuts- They're never worth it in the end." Take your own fortune cookie advice Ocean Ranch Panda.

My parents introduced me to Classic Chinese in Laguna Hills, and we have been going for years…read morewithout issue. The new issue is that it is way too popular. Maybe we should not have told so many people about it. Getting a table used to feel easy. Now it feels like the kind of place everyone else discovered right after you did. It is great for large groups. They have a large group room, which is why this works when we are not just a couple of adults and kids. Family dinners, bigger tables, the kind of night where you order too many dishes and somehow still want one more. The food itself is pretty classic Chinese food. Not the absolute best in Orange County, nothing fancy, just solid. I would put the food around a 4 out of 5 on its own. The overall experience still lands at five for us. My kids' favorite dishes are the steamed fish and the clams. Those two are the reason they ask to come back. Steamed fish that actually tastes clean and careful, clams that feel like a treat without being precious about it. That is the lane Classic Chinese lives in. Familiar flavors, generous plates, the kind of Chinese restaurant where you already know what you are ordering before you sit down. Service is above average for a Chinese place, which matters more than people admit when you have kids and a big table. They keep things moving without making the meal feel rushed. After years of coming here, it is still our default when we want solid Chinese food that the whole family will finish, even if I am part of the reason it got too popular.

Food was so SO good! Recently heard about this spot and had to go try it! Each dish was better…read morethan the next! Super authentic taste with quality fresh ingredients! Restaurant was super clean and service was friendly and fast! I was surprised how packed it was on a Tuesday night. But once you take your first bite, you'll see why! Best dish of the night for me was the braised tofu with mushroom in brown sauce! The tofu was so silky and comforting! We also got the whole fried fish, beef with black bean sauce, pan fried noodles, and the salt & pepper shrimp. Next time you're craving Chinese, you gotta try Classic Chinese!
