My family and I love Panda Express! It's definitely one of our go-to spots. They are quick, the food is fresh and affordable. Might not be the healthiest option but I think it's still better than fast food chains like mcdonalds and Jack in the box. Our favorites include: chow fun, chow main, orange chicken, mushroom chicken, grilled chicken, walnut shrimp, and the eggrolls. There are lots more to choose from but that's just our normal tops. During peak times like lunch and dinner rush the line will go out the door. The line doesn't take long though. I always do the survey on the back of the receipt to receive a free third choice for the next visit. Parking is super close and normally there's lots of it. My first visit to this location two days ago and i was very impressed. It wasn't busy at all. There was two girl cashiers and a male cook. These three workers were quite young. The cashiers were quite helpful & nice. I did notice that this time i ate at a Pandas, particularly this location that my food had so much flavor. I ordered my plate and my partner ordered his own plate. Although we did share lol so i did get to taste his selections as well. I ordered Chow Mein noodles and yumm it was sooo good. I just picked up 3 "bowls" and instead of giving you the actual bowl they give you a plate with your side partially filling the big space and they only fill one of the small spaces with your entree. So I ordered (3) three choice combination plates and was serviced by an angry lady who seemed overwhelmed and irritable. In the middle of ordering I noticed 2 people come inside and ask about stuffed animals that were on display for Chinese New Years. The couple asked if the they were free and proceeded to grab 2 stuffed animals and left, no food in hand nor were they dining in, this leads me to believe they were not even customers. As I am paying at the cash register I ask if the stuffed animals are free, she said yes you can have 1. I ask if can I have a second one bcuz I have 2 babies, she says no "1 per customer". I didn't want to argue the fact that I ordered 3 plates while the couple earlier didn't order any food. 3 of us went to panda tonight and the food was gross. Didn't have chow fun and so we waited. Figuring it would be fresh and good--well it was mushy and salty. When I saw the manager scoop a spoonful and plop it right on my plate I knew it was gross. You could just see it was all one big mushy mess. Then the chicken string beans was salty and the didn't even cut off the stems of the beans. Not only did I order 30 minutes in advance to give them time to make the food since it's never ready when I go to pick it up, but they made me wait over 20 minutes when I got there and sent a text saying it was ready way before my order time. We went to Panda at about 8pm last night & they were CLOSED. When you can see from the photos and video attached & viewing their hours on their Yelp page that they close at 9pm. Most of the lights inside were off & the workers were all sitting inside at what looked like they were just talking story. And even if they were having a "meeting", there was no sign on the door to indicate them closing early. One of the workers in the restaurant waved his hand when we tried to open the door, like "sorry we're closed". That made me more upset because we could clearly see that they're closed when they should NOT be and he thought nothing of it. This Mililani Town Center restaurant is the northernmost yet on Oahu. Excusing opening night delays and hiccups, this Panda Express makes the most of its modest space, and for these early days at least, joins only a couple of other eateries in the shopping complex in offering outdoor seating. Ginger House Chinese Restaurant just a few doors down doesn't need to worry, as it will still offer a superior sit-down table-service experience and a more nuanced menu. You can't ever go too wrong with Panda Express - the food is always the same. Best to go when it's a rush hour for lunch or dinner so that the dishes turn over faster. The service is good, very friendly, they always greet you and offer you a sample. This location is clean. I like that for the starch they offer many choices and you can even do half and half (white or brown rice, chown mein or chow fun or steamed veggies). There are also at least 12 different types of foods to choose from. You can tell by the dish size in their serving area that orange chicken is their most popular. At the end of the line they have sides like egg rolls. 2 entree meals runs $8.50 or so. If you plan to come back, keep your receipt and fill out their online review to get one free entree (third entree on a 2-entree plate) during your next visit. Star rating based on "fast food" Chinese, not on authentic/sit-down Chinese type food. Lots of parking in the Mililani Town Center parking lot. She left one piece of tofu in the wok...ONE?!?! Like the Ginger Fish, ONE piece...guess that's their way of telling what needs to be refilled. Tacky. My son keeps asking "where's the egg?" in the fried rice. EVERYTIME. He keeps forgetting that this Panda location does not use egg in the fried rice. The food is as good as Panda Express can get, and the service is very good compared to other locations. It's also very clean and inviting inside, and not too crowded as most people either eat outside or take their food to-go. I haven't been to a PE in awhile so not sure if all their stores ramped up their customer service, but I didn't expect such smiley faces and warm welcomes when I walked in the door. And the workers were efficient, they knew what they were doing and moved the line quick! Everyone was busy working, not just standing around. The parking lot gets crowded on that side (near the movie theaters) and most of the stalls are for smaller cars. I like to park in the back, near zippys and walk over. He said that you guys must visit us during our grand opening and that during the first week their store hours will be extended a little later. The service is upbeat and prompt, there is a cashier named Liz that is always nice and understanding. Today, I ordered the Beijing beef, which was low, and I told them that I didn't mind waiting. Liz was thoughtful enough to give me a cup of water but I declined because I had my StarBucks in the car. The food choices and selection is always filled but when 7:00 pm comes along, expect all the selections to be depleted. The taste of the food here is fresh unlike the one in Ka Uka, their orange chicken tastes weird like they did not wash their cookware or something. This is my go to Pandas, it's conveniently close to home, granted, but even if it weren't I would frequent this location. The food is always fresh and the staff are always friendly and efficient. I love coming here. Even when they are extremely busy, like they happened to be last night when I went, the staff are friendly and accommodating. I had the pleasure of being helped by Alex. Even though they had a line out the door he had a smile on his face and even asked me if I wanted to sample anything. That's what I call great service! Most times when a food establishment is busy they forget to be kind to their customers. They have scowls instead of smiles and are in such a rush to get to the next customer they forget to ask if you'd like a sample or even thank you for you business and invite you back. Cashier denied me when I showed her my Hawaii SMART card on my phone, showing my vax verification status because "we don't have a (QR) scanner." I told her I was just here last week and there was no problem with them NOT scanning the QR code. I told them (now there were two workers over to hear my complaint) that, lacking a scanner, here was my photo ID that matched my name to the SMART card. I also told them other restaurants ACCEPT THE SMART card without resorting to a QR scanner. What was the problem now? They asked if I had my actual vax card. What's the purpose of carrying the real card when the SMART card exists so I don't HAVE to carry the real card? I didn't wait for their answer. My 3 stars are just due to the fact that I had to wait longer because I ordered 5 plates and the trainer who was helping the staff ignored my 5 plates waiting and helped the gentlemen behind me who only were ordering 1 plate each. Finally a Panda Express close to home!!! Now I won't feel bad when my husband is trying to be nice and has to drive to Waipio to grab me my orange chicken and chow mein. The food of course was delish, with a good amount per serving, not too stingy or overflowing. Everything is still nice and shiny so appearance wise, it leaves a good impression. You get to see the huge refrigerator with the chopped up veggies and are able to see that the chefs cook everything. The service was great, all of the workers were extra smiley and offered suggestions pleasantly and not robotic. They have seating inside and out. There are more high tables inside, my only gripe is that they are 3 seaters. We ended up using two tables for our family to accommodate the number of us and our food.
