Do not eat here. The teriyaki chicken was undercooked and made me sick on 10/24/25. It smelled bad when I got home and opened the container, and I considered driving it back to the store immediately. Instead, I tossed a few pieces in the microwave oven to cook it better, but it still wasn't enough. The noodles were also bland and tasteless, and my wife's orange chicken was also tough. The smell was so bad, I had to toss it into the trash outside. We've noticed the quality of the food at the MV store on Rancho Santa Margarita Pkwy has gone downhill this past year. I don't know what the problem is...but it appears they aren't properly training the staff on how to cook the food, and nobody is supervising food quality - too many kids working there. Somebody needs to tell Corporate "You can't sell crappy food to the public!!!!:" It's not worth getting sick over...we'll NEVER eat their food again. As you can see in the picture, there were 5 teeny pieces of beef...couldn't possibly be more than 3oz? I have been coming to this location since it opened about 7-8 years ago and the food was always fresh and tasted so good. I used to recommend it highly. Today, I was extremely disappointed with my lunch! I ordered the grilled teriyaki chicken and steamed rice. The meat seemed undercooked, not grilled but baked and was very bland. The steamed rice was sticky and hard, tasteless. During recent visits, I have noticed a big change in staffing. Gone were the pleasant, hardworking cooks who took pride in their work and smiled. Also, the counter staff serving the food were not as pleasant and friendly but were more concerned on socializing and teasing each other. It is very obvious that the quality of food and customer service needs immediate attention from corporate or district management at this location. However, I have noticed over the past couple of years that while the prices have gone up, there is some serious shrinkflation going on with the portion sizes. Other Panda Express locations give 1.5x the amount of food. Where other places use tongs for every entree, this location uses a uniform scoop for most entree items. I came here to pick up some lunch. I was craving orange chicken and chow mien. There was no line so I walked right up to the counter. I told them what I wanted. They asked if I also wanted cream cheese wontons or egg rolls and I said I wanted cream cheese wontons. Those are always my favorite. I also got a soda to drink. They filled up my styrofoam plate and passed it along to the cash register. Service here is super quick. I got my food in no time at all. It wasn't a bad price either, it was around $10. Made the mistake of eating here on Christmas despite all the terrible reviews. Although I was grateful they were open since we ended up coming home early from a family gathering due to pregnancy exhaustion. I sent my husband to pick up food for both of us. The chow mein absolutely lacked any flavor but other than that the food tasted fine or so I thought. As soon as I was done eating I felt like something was off and thought I had to puke but decided to lay down. After we spent the evening watching movies I decided to go to bed. Around 3am that's when the real party started and I ended up vomiting and for lack of any nicer words ended up with diarrhea. Not a pretty picture. Turns out my husband also ended up having a stomach ache and having to use the bathroom really bad around 3am. Lucky for us we have 3 bathrooms. I usually really like this place, but normally order online. In person was a weird experience.. I work in fast food, so I understand that sometimes things are just gonna run out and need to be restocked. Especially near closing. But they were out of so much and only called for it to be made when the item was pretty much already completely gone. That was weird because usually you call for things to start being cooked before you get to that point. Had to wait quite a bit, which is fine because I understand how long it takes to make food. But I feel that a couple of the employees were weird about my partner and I being very visibly queer? I'm used to that in this area from strangers at the store, but employees are usually trained to not be rude so that caught us off guard. Anyway- I recommend only ordering from this location online if you're queer :') Otherwise you might have an uncomfortable interaction when you're just trying to get food. Lastly, I ordered the shrimp and that one costs a bit more which is fine, but they gave me such a small amount of it? The other portions of our food were fine, but thAt one they shorted me on which sucks because I paid more for it. They had just made a new batch of it too, so I'm not sure why that happened. Prices here keep going up, which I understand due to our horrible government and inflation, but I don't understand why portions here keep getting smaller also. Came in at 8:55pm with a line out the door. We didn't order until 9:20pm. The guy who was taking our order was extremely skimpy on our sides and entrees. When ordering fried rice, he said they didn't have anymore and that they were not going to make anymore. However, the line was still out the door after us. Stopped in here for dinner Wednesday night, and it wasnt too crowded. There was an employee cleaning up a spilled soda at a table, who was a little bit in the way of guests trying to get in line, when it wasnt quite necessary, and she wasnt all that willing to move, but it wasnt the end of the world. I ordered Orange Chicken and Black Pepper Chicken with half Chow Mein and half Veggies. I never knew veggies were an option, I like that. The Chow Mein was a little dry and didnt have a lot of flavor, and the Black Pepper Chicken was a bit mushy. The Orange Chicken was great, as were the veggies. Cream Cheese Rangoon; wanton filled with cream cheese with sweet & sour sauce on the side. Black Pepper Chicken: marinated chicken, celery, and a black pepper sauce. It was very tasty. Shanghai Angus Steak; Angus steak, string beans, onions & mushrooms with sauce. A good combination of flavors. Broccoli and Beef; Beef, broccoli & ginger soy sauce. It was very good. When I contacted door dash to ask about my order, they basically said oh well and contact Panda Express about it. Over the years, we have eaten many times. Some orders better than others but, this order #52063347 had Panda Express Specialty Entree, Orange Chicken. All the chicken was raw on the inside. My wife was so disappointed because this item is her favorite! I would have complained but, the complaint would have fallen on deaf ears. Yelp is my only alternative. I've had multiple bad experiences here. One time I asked for noodles and rice and they gave me 80% just cabbage. Another time I asked for sweet and sour sauce and they gave me something that tasted exactly like bbq sauce instead. And onw time I asked if they had the beyond meat vegan orange chicken and the lady said yes even though they didnt, and tried to give me real chicken. But after my last visit here I will not be going back again. I ordered my usual noodles and rice and the rice was rock hard. You could chip your teeth on it. It was very obvious that when they made more rice instead of throwing away the old rice they just dumped new rice in with the old, because every other bite was hard as a rock and had to be spit out. i am not the type to typically leave a review but this location went above & beyond! we placed an order through the app for delivery, and the door-dash drive that was supposed to deliver our food either got lost or took it for himself we aren't sure, but there was no direct contact from him and then he just completed the order. i called the store and spoke with the manager, david, and he looked into our order and said it had been marked completed on their end as well so they could refund and we could re order but since we used some rewards i wasn't sure we'd get them back so instead, he went above and beyond and had our order remade and delivered without us having to place a new order or anything! he made it so easy and solved our problem so quickly. he was also extremely kind & helpful!! and the food was delicious!! will definitely be visiting again!! read more
