This is my favorite Panda Express in the area because they have lovely customer service and the fastest wait times. Heidi in particular is such a lovely employee and is always so kind and helpful! I have ordered catering from here too and my order is always perfect. I often order food for myself and my kids here on the app and it's always ready either faster or right on time (which isn't true for other locations in the area). The quality of the food is always outstanding at this location as well and they are generous with their portions. I have also eaten inside the restaurant and it is always very clean and kept at a comfortable temperature. The bathrooms are always clean too. But today, I tried ordering for delivery, and I ordered my usual..sweet and sour chicken, with 2 other entrees. I got my order delivered..The sweet and sour chicken was very spicy??? I cant do spicy! Well, I thought that I ordered my food at the Irvine location at it turned out it was Mission Viejo. I was already about an hour late for pickup before I called Mission Viejo Panda Express to let them know. Raymond picked up the phone. I told him I was running late and he told me my food was sitting out for about an hour and OFFERED to ask the kitchen to remake the food for me. I gladly thanked him and God blessed him for his kindness and thoughtfulness. He asked about how long I would take before I arrived. I told him about 20 minutes and he said he would have them remake it in about 15 minutes. I ended up getting there after about 27 minutes and he was actually the one who helped me when I walked up to the Pick-Up counter. Haha, I saw his name tag and said, "Hey Raymond it's Frankie!" He laughed and smiled and handed me my food while saying, "It's still nice and fresh for you". I God blessed him and thanked him again. He was very kind and I'm so glad he and the kitchen and Panda Express went out of their way to not only make my order but keep it warm for me. And the food?? 5 out of 5!! I placed my order and waited 20 MINUTES because these workers cant read. I went up three times to the lady and asked for my name. all times she didnt bother to look for my name and kept saying it would almost be out. after waiting until the point I was almost late to class. I had to write this review because I was amazed with the level of service Heidi provided. As I sat down eating after receiving my order there were a few minutes of "quiet" time and she walked around with a basket filled with sauces asking the diners if they need anything. I said no except I forget to ask for a cup do I can get myself water. She said no problem and 2 seconds later she came around with iced water in a cup for me and a smile! I didn't didn't expect that! They obviously saved old rice from last night, in the fridge, and refried it....It was gross and inedible, and I left a review letting them know. The management team told me they are looking in to it. That was BS. I went today, and the chow mein was sour and gross... It tasted old and expired. They obviously still use old leftover food they leave in the fridge and warm it up again. These people are gross.... Its the nastiest panda express I've ever been to. The food was the most disgusting meal that I have had in years. I would normally get the cashew shrimp, but there were only 5 pieces with the breading falling off. So I paid extra for the "steak" I tried 5 pieces of it. It was not only tough, but filled with fat and gristle. I spit out every piece and threw out the entire $13 "meal." Unfortunately I can't comment on the service or ambiance, as hubby picked up our food to go. I ordered the orange chicken with 1/2 chow mein and 1/2 rice. First of all, the orange chicken was not orange and nor did it taste like orange chicken that I've had from other Chinese restaurants. The worst part is that I could barely taste the chicken. I have been coming to this location for a very long time. I've seen changes here and there and new faces too over the years. Pretty happy with everything until this evening. I had not been here for a couple of months. It was busy and well staffed. The food looked good and all. But I noticed the to go containers were smaller. When I got home, well, the portions have completely shrunk!!! And I'm not sure about the prices. Unbelievable. I got a 2 item with 1 side. The entries were half of what is usually served with way less meat and the side was at least 1/3 less. Mostly because the containers have gotten so small. VERY disappointed and dissatisfied. I will compare to the Panda on El Toro and Raymond in the future. If it's the same I guess Panda and I will be parting ways. read more

Came here for lunch today and experienced very rude service particularly from the manager, Ana. When it was my time to order I asked a few questions regarding the food and was immediately turned down and felt rushed to order. On top of that, I wanted to try the black pepper steak as there is an upsell price on it, but was told no, with no explanation. This is my Panda Express spot in South OC. It's Americanize Chinese food. It's one of the better Panda spots. I do wish they weren't stingy with their portions, but they have to control their food levels because they have a profit to make. You are definitely not going to get your plate packed here. The service is also fast and friendly. They get you in out pretty quick. HORRIBLE SERVICE!! Not sure why we keep returning, but even the managers are bad. Went last night (11/2) to try a new "Spicy" Bourbon chicken they have (not spicy really). We cannot have sesame seeds due to a medical condition. Asked the manager, David, if we can get an order without the seeds. He said "no we have to follow exactly how they say to cook it". We have never had an issue another locations mind you, only this one. He was talking down to us and then finally said "fine, just this one time". They do realize many places can just add sesame seeds after it's cooked right? No reason to be rude to the customer. Besides, you had to make a fresh order as the one, sad looking portion that was sitting out for what looked like forever, needed replacing. The dish itself was just "mediocre". We also got the black pepper chicken. Got home and noticed we both only had 2 very small pieces of actually chicken. The rest was 95% celery, and a huge amount of onions. Don't sell it as "black pepper chicken" if you aren't going to put any in it. Call it "black pepper celery onion". I used to be a big fan of this location, but sadly with time things have gone downhill. The portions have gotten smaller as well as the quality of the dishes and customer service. Plus over the past year during COVID it has been a bit of a mess with their take-out situation. I always use their handy app to preorder and prepay for our dishes, which normally makes things pretty convenient, but the wait times have been inconsistently off from what the app claims the wait time would be. It's pretty frustrating. Hopefully management reads their Yelp reviews and takes note that the customers are noticing improvements needed to be made. read more
