I usually love Panda Express, but this place has the worst service I've ever seen. Despite there being very few people, they were extremely slow when I got there. They ran out of chow mein so had me wait. This was completely understandable at first, but after 30+ minutes there was still no sign of the noodles. When the chow mein finally came out, I asked about my plate and they had given it to the wrong person. They had run out of broccoli beef so had me waiting AGAIN. I decided to just leave instead of wasting more time. Never come here as the line will always be slow no matter how few people are there. read more

NEVER BUY MILK TEA HERE! I ordered a passion fruit green tea with pearls. The cashier (Christopher V) had me wait over 20min for my drink and I was already finished with my meal by then. To top it off, when he finally made it, it tasted like pure syrup! It ended up irritating my throat. That was really upsetting. I don't usually demand refunds, but this time I did. Terrible Customer Service...CONSISTENTLY!!! My kids love Panda Express, therefore we tend to frequent the chain. Usually orange chicken and rice. Pretty simple order. My wife and I are deciding to stop going specifically to the Panda Express on the corner of El Monte and El Camino in Mountain View. On a number of occasions we've gone to this location, out of convenience, not necessarily by choice. The service is so POOR, that I don't understand why a person that illustrates a poor mood works there. LEAVE and get another job. These employees seem so unhappy serving customers. If the chain conducts any type of training, they need to revamp it. If the chain uses NPS for scoring on referral, this location gets an absolute ZERO. The management of this location needs to revisit their customer service training. I get that it's Chinese fast food, but show some basic common courtesy and common sense in serving people. I don't tend to write many reviews, however the past 3 visits have made me take the time and write this review for this location. Thoroughly pissed off and can't believe this place. read more

I was there at 9:30 April 18. Almost everything empty. No fried rice, broccoli beef, mushroom chicken, string bean chicken, orange chicken. Not willing to make fried rice. Very little chow mein. They were willing to make orange chicken. They said it would take 10 mins & actually took 20 mins. It didn't taste like orange chicken. Skimpy on orange sauce. I think there must be new management because I have been there close to 10 and they always had plenty of food. It used to be one of the better Panda Express locations! read more

I have experienced better Panda Express. Would prefer the Sunnyvale Panda more. Lines are long here, service slow and portions are NOT generous. The team just scoops one scoop of meat item and sometimes the scoop has only veggies and not many pieces of meat. Fried rice was a bit Lukewarm and there were a couple of trays that were near empty. It's 5-stars.... for a PANDA EXPRESS, ok? It's not gourmet. I'm not really a Panda Express frequenter, but stopped by this afternoon to satisfy an Orange Chicken craving. What particularly strikes me about this location is the cleanliness and professionalism. JAMES was very friendly -- asked me if I wanted samples, offered me water when he noticed I was sitting w/o a beverage (was waiting for my boba) and also was diligently sweeping & cleaning when there were no customers. I was quite impressed and felt like I was sitting/eating at a respectable establishment. Will be back. read more

I'd give the food four stars as it's actually pretty good for fast food. I have no issue with food quality....and my kids love it! The Shanghai Steak, signature chicken, and prawns are consistently good. I'd give the service two stars . I order four or five plate dinners. They always run out of a dish in the middle of packing my order and I have to wait 8-10 minutes while they prepare the dish. The part of my order that is already dished sits under the heat lamps. I've asked them to refill my whole order with the fresh dish (as half the order is cold) and they say to take it home and microwave it. It's always very crowded and hectic there and I am certain they don't care if half my order is cold when I leave. Still I go back... the food is good, kids like it. I just have to prepare myself to get upset each time I go in. read more

Normally the Panda Express locations that I have been to don't have the Tea Bar so of course I was excited to try out some tea at this one! I looked at the Tea Bar menu and saw that the Thai Iced Tea had the option to either substitute the usual half/half with Almond Milk or Soy Milk with an additional 50 cents charge- ehh not too bad.I let the guy know that I wanted to add the Thai Iced Tea to my order but substitute with Soy Milk. He looked at me and said "We don't have Soy Milk, we only have Half & Half". Uhh ok, I got it anyways. He should have said they ran out versus implying they don't even use Soy Milk. I got in the car and drove off. I couldn't wait to get to my destination before I had some of my drink so tasted the Thai Iced Tea and it was the absolute WORST I have ever had. Honestly I don't know if he just wasn't measuring or was rushing (even though it wasn't very busy - he looked flustered). In my opinion, I will no longer buy any tea items from Panda Express and stick to usual places that specialize in tea. $3.25?? Ugh, so disappointed. read more

Gourmet Chinese feed is great but their service is terrible. Panda's are generally slow and painful but this one beats them all. Even on online order, they make you wait way beyond the pick up time. Poor planning leads to having out of stock on key items all the time, so more waiting for customers. read more

Out of 5 online orders exactly 0 have been ready (or even started) when I get there after the committed pickup time. This last time was the worst - they couldn't even find the order (even after I showed them my phone confirmation), and by the time they got it started they were out of 2 of the 5 items. I asked to cancel the order and get a refund; it's now 40 minutes after I ordered. First I'm told that's not possible, then it's that the store manager has to do it (and she's not there at night), and then once getting store manager on phone she promises to refund it "tomorrow". Tomorrow came and went with no refund, and when I went to store to ask the manager first she says (LIES) it was refunded and credited; when I asked for proof she disappeared for 5 minutes, and comes back saying she can't give me anything but she is on the phone asking to have the refund done. I then get an email showing the refund was requested that day, while I'm in the store. That the manager stood in front of me and clearly LIED to me is the last straw. This store is messy, dirty, disorganized, and is run by a liar. read more

I used Panda Express to cater an event for our MV Tennis club. I used on-line ordering the day before, which was very easy to use. I was an hour late in picking up my food due to unforeseen circumstances. I had called the restaurant in response to two messages they had left me and I let them know I was picking up the food in 10 minutes. I got to the restaurant and they had taken the initiative to re-cook my order as they wanted to make sure my order was hot. While I was waiting for them to package the food they offered me a free drink while I was waiting. The CUSTOMER SERVICE WAS AMAZING, thanks to "Mei" who seemed to be in charge and running a tight ship. The food was piping hot and well received. The beef broccoli was cooked perfectly, slightly crunchy, and bright green in color. The two chicken dishes Kung Pao and Orange were delicious as were the side dishes of chow mein and fried rice. Although this food is considered "fast food" it wasn't terribly greasy and the price was very reasonable. The quantity estimates on the catering menu were conservative and we had plenty of food. I would definitely consider them again for another catered event. The only downside for me was I wanted to give them a big fat tip for the fantastic and unexpected customer service, but I was informed "they don't accept tips." The reason they get five stars is because they actually have a tea bar...something I've never seen at Panda Express before. I ordered the orange chicken and most of it was breaded barely any chicken in it and I got major heart burn.

This is my first time happen to me regarding the food is not enough heat. I been having Panda Express since 2008. The fried rice's smell is so badly like decomposed. I felt like they just re warm up whatever over from last night which is ridiculous. When I asked them for second times but it still rice is too hard to eat even I'm 22 years old. AVOID ***WORST PANDA EXPRESS EVER!**** AVOID This is definitely a small but nice looking updated PE inside especially with the nice "Tea Bar", however, staff needs to be updated..... The tables in this location were all dirty and (it wasn't even busy!) not cleaned, bathrooms not stocked and extremely dirty, staff seemed to not be trained at all on anything and lack of management not present makes this place THE WORST PANDA EXPRESS we have ever been to....... My wife and I went in for a quick bite (Chicken bowl with fried rice) to eat and a black coffee. First, I have never seen fried rice with corn in it instead of egg?!? Second, the Rice was absolutely drenched in oil and the carrots were still hard as in not fully cooked? I was hungry and didn't want to make a big deal about it. My wife simply wanted a plain ol' black coffee since this PE had a tea bar. Ordered the plain black coffee and about 10 minutes later, my wife still did not have her coffee. She then went up to the employee making teas now for somebody else and asked if her coffee was made or being made, the employee simply replied, "oh I didn't know how to make it".......??? WTF!!!! who doesn't know how to make plain black coffee?!?!?!? I heard that and it made me upset, if they didn't know how to make it at least tell us and not help another couple out and forget about us....... So I then got up and stated that its just coffee, its not that hard to make. Another employee came over and said that they will make it since they thought I said black tea?!?! WTF!!!!! "plain black coffee" does not sound like "black tea"...... So he asked if we still wanted it and I said YES, clear as day, YES..... The cashier then asked if I wanted a refund of the balance since the coffee was cheaper and of course I said yes.... A refunded was handed to me and we thought the coffee was being made... 5 minutes later, my wife asks if the coffee was being made, the cashier simply said, "oh, I gave him (me) a full refund because you guys said you didn't want it"....... The "caffeine free" panda blossom tea had zero chrysanthemum in it, lots of milk and caffeine rich oolong tea. Crazy lines here, and the food gave me anxiety, probably lots of salt and oil. Also it's scary walking here as people in this center drive so terribly, watch out. I witnessed probably 10 near accidents right next to me while I ate outside. read more

My family and I go to Panda Express frequently for a fast and yummy meal. We usually get the Family Feast ($30) for dinner. The Family Feast feeds us well for dinner, but also feeds us a lunch for the next day. I recommend Panda Express for anyone, especially families. read more

Wow...after seeing all the not-so-great reviews, I"m wondering if it is even the same restaurant. I'm going to.. or if the times I was there I just got lucky. First--yes, normal take-out stuff (although they have tables, I've always gotten it to go). BUT what sets it apart from a lot of other stripmall-Chinese-food joints is, well, the high food turnover. Seems contradictory to previous reviews... maybe, again, I just got lucky. Been there half a dozen times in the last month (at work, we had it for lunch a while ago and I found myself into it...then it was ordered again, and I was on a Panda Express roll). I usually get the large-size entrees (to skip the full-of-rice-or-noodles 'large' plates, which are sizeable but always make a mess somehow in my car with multiple dishes getting mixed with each other). Today, I got a large Beijing Beef entree...the guy filled the entire thing, and even patted it down...there were a few extra pieces left in their tray (there wasn't a lot left), so I asked the guy if he could put them in, and he did. It was full to the brim and had to be closed with some effort. My other standby is Kung Pao Chicken...same thing, again--just brought in. And...in case someone thinks this is a type of 'oh ok must be hot chick or something so she gets extra stuff', I'm a hassled working mother of two kids, and am run so ragged on most days that it's not a great-looking situation. I noticed their food trays are not huuuge (like some non-franchise takeout placed I"d been to), and whenever they're running short, the staff always shouts for more...I constantly see trays emptied and refilled; last week, my husband got there shortly before closing, and wanted to get a large Beijing Beef entree...when he was gone a little long I got worried, but it turned out they had run out, so made him a fresh batch. Sooo good! Lastly--I'm a big fan of leftovers; for some reason, I actually like food cold from the fridge--so, I usually eat a little bit of the beef right away, hot from the box, then stick the rest in the fridge and have it straight from the fridge the next morning. Not crispy anymore, but still super flavorful. Same with Kung Pao chicken--still good when cold. Anyway...it's not like I think every single thing is amazing--there's quite a few things I tried that I decided weren't for me--the green bean chicken is okay, but doesn't seem as popular, so can sit a little long...same with black pepper chicken. I don't eat shrimp, so have never had the desire to even taste a sample. Which BTW is a BIG PLUS-every time you get something, they ask you if you want a free sample. Which is also how I found which dishes aren't for me. The tofu is pretty good, but considering that it's the same price as the meat dishes, not the best value...broccoli beef is broccoli-heavy, which is great if you want some veggies, but if you're into bang-for-buck, and want more beef than broccoli, it might not be your thing. Never tried the teriyaki chicken, but it also doesn't seem to have a high turnover. BOTTOM LINE: I think, if you stick to the most popular dishes that you can visibly see have a high turnover--like, literally, the tray is almost always tending towards empty, you hear them shout for more to be cooked constantly, or if 2 out of 3 people in front of you order it, then it's great...again, very fresh-tasting. So, for me, I would say the dish I see refilled most often is the kung pao chicken (which comes with a lot of dried whole chilies, which I sometimes do eat whole, depending on the mood, and sometimes leave on the side)... and, the Beijing beef rotates fast too. Like in most restaurants, whether fancy or takeout, the dishes with the highest turnover tend to be the most popular--or, the most popular dishes have the highest turnover; they generally are good, but especially cooked often, and don't sit around long. Also...that may mean being flexible with what you get--if you had your heart set on broccoli beef, but it looks like it's been sitting a bit, maybe go for another option. And...if the portions in the big serving aren't big enough, just get a large entree...save the carbs for another time...for less than two bucks more, you have your entire large serving of meat plus veggies (not so say that it's 'healthy'--obviously, there's a lot of oil and sodium involved). Anyways...I'm a fan. Don't know if my good experiences are due to the choice of dish and size, or lucky timing...but until I have a bad experience, I'll keep coming back (and not just because I live less than 5 minutes drive away). Overall, in most restaurants or takeouts I've been to, I've found it pays not to go for something esoteric on the menu just to try something different--even at fancy restaurants, dishes that are on the menu but aren't made often can have ingredients that are less than completely fresh; even if it's boring-ole-so-and-so, a fresh and well-made so-and-so is way better than a unique dish that's sat around. read more

Awful service! I've eaten at other panda express's and have NEVER experienced service as I did last night. We came in 45 minutes before close. Knowing that it was 45 minutes before close we didn't have the high expectations for options/freshness. Some how they still hit below the mark. They were out of everything, only had 4 options, and the food that was available had been sitting out for so long that it was stuck to the bottom of the tray. We had one person ahead of us and it still took 15 minutes to get out of there. The server was too busy talking to the manager to help us. The person ahead of us asked if they would make anymore noodles and the server rudely replied no. When it was our turn we asked if they would make more orange chicken, they still had 45 minutes. She refused and said No. We ordered teriyaki chicken and got the heck out of there. The chicken was good, the rice was dry but the sauce was awful. It had been sitting out so long that it had begun to turn into a gel texture. It grossed me out so bad that I just threw it away.
