Today is my birthday so I decided to treat myself to Panda Express. I came in at 10:00 Am and nothing was ready to sell. You'd think that there would be some preparation the night before but there was only Chow Mein. The cook did ask me what I wanted and he did cook it up but no rice was ready as well. I'm rating it two stars because of the cook he was polite. The cashier did ask the Manager for a birthday/senior discount and he looked at me and said no. This has to be one of slowest PE I've ever been in I'm not one to venture into a American Chinese restaurant, but when I need something quick I'll slum it. I've been dropping by this store a few times when I need to grab something quick and I keep kicking myself. I'm not sure who's training the staff, but they clearly have little concept of efficiency. I can't believe how long I've had to stand in line here on more than a few occasions. The food is typical American Chinese food. If you had to nail down a region I would say HK/Shanghai with wayyyy too much sugar sauce on everything. There are a couple items which are ok, but this is fast food and that's it. I really would just avoid this location if you are ever in a rush. Tip: Panda Express started its life as a restaurant called the Panda Inn in So Cal, now one of the fastest growing franchises which will one day be in China as American Chinese food. read more

I arrived 9:45am, since the door was unlocked, I opened the door, but was told "Not yet open time". Even though I was in a hurry I decided to wait till open time which was 10:00am. But, no food were prepared at 10:00am. They said it takes 20 minutes more. Since I was in a hurry, and I didn't think foods won't be ready in a 20 minutes seeing what they were doing, I had to leave without food for lunch. Such a wasting time... Oh no! I went in the other day and the employees were rude and I did an online order and they said that it was down so if it was down and there was other online orders in front of me how is that possible? In customer service if your system is down you go out of your way to help them in that case I would say what can I get for you and pay quickly thats what makes good customer service not be rude like the employees were. Especially in this area with a lot of hard working and wealthy people who knows everyone and one word can spread. read more

I have so many bad things to say I'll try and keep it simple and informative. -They do not rotate their hot food bins. The last dregs of a dish (eg. chow mien) stay at the bottom and the fresh is poured on top over and over. I don't think that's even to code. -Their service is beyond terrible. Everyone there acts like they can't wait to get away from you. They are incredibly slow, and especially slower with the pressure of a long line. Many mistake on request. Upset for asking for beef added to the "beef and broccoli" when legitimately there was only broccoli. Then because that upset her she gave a tiny portion on everything. I wish I had a photo of normal day compared to that angry chicks servings. Don't piss them off. But even if you don't piss them off, the managers are hawks about portions and they NEVER go over a certain amount, and get verbally scolded for putting too much and have even gone to spoon in an serving and put it back rethinking. Not the kind of american chinese that loads your plate. They even count individual prawns for walnut prawns. If an employee goes on break, they will literally serve themselves before you, and sometimes something you were literally asking for. -Their pearl tea is a disappointment and the pearls taste DAYS old or are bad quality, nothing like traditional. The ONLY reason we go here is because it is SO close to our house, but it seems to be a joke to expect anything but crap from them. read more

Went to Panda last week (Thursday at 5 pm) and had horrible service from employee Tam. Per Panda's policy, if a receipt is not given after payment, your meal is complimentary. After being rung up, Tam gives me my credit card and walks away without giving a receipt. I stand there while she helps other customers. After heading to the register to ring up the next customer, she notices that she did not give my receipt. I ask her that I did not receive my receipt and requested that I be credited my meal per policy. Tam repeatedly said that she can not understand what I am saying and can not hear me. I repeated myself at least three times while stating per policy, I did not receive my receipt during payment, hence I am eligible for a refund. Tam had no issue hearing other customers when ordering however mysteriously lost her hearing when I asked for a refund. When asked to speak with a manager, I was told no manger was on duty and I needed to call tomorrow. How can a manager not available during dinner time rush? I was asked multiple times by Tam during ordering if I was interested in additional appetizers, drinks, donations, etc to my meal but her hearing was lost when asked for a refund. My experience is so disappointing and I will not be going to this location again. I did speak with a customer representative when I got home and they confirmed that I was eligible for a refund and refunded me. I also requested a store manager give me a call back but was told that they would call if they had availability. SMH.... don't waste your time coming here, especially if Tam is working. This location can get very crowded. When this happens they run out of items and run out of places to sit. I also think that they have a plate size that is smaller than the typical to go order container. I would be interested to see if the portions are the same, specifically for the rice or noodles. I think the way they respond to busy lunch times needs to be improved. I work nearby and would like to go more often but the line is just too long. read more

Never before today have I tried Panda Express even though it is ubiquitous in South Bay and thankfully so. You are guaranteed to feel sick in your stomach from all the extremely greasy food they give you. I was super hungry so I gobbled all the food (white fried rice, veggie spring rolls and tofu eggplant) I had ordered and within 5 minutes of finishing my meal, I wanted to throw up. Even if someone holds a gun to my head the next time, I may refuse to consume any more Panda Express food. Yikes! read more

This place is terrible. Two weeks ago I had their mushroom chicken and brown rice and got very sick. That was my only meal of the day that is how I know their food got me sick. I have not been back since and I never will go back. Another thing is that the place is always dirty since it is a busy spot. Good luck if you eat here. read more

Formerly 2 star review: Orange Chicken didn't taste right, oddly more tart than normal. I would say that this item is their flagship and it's odd that it doesn't taste like it normally does here. First time at this location. Also tried the new Panda Tea Bar. Tried the regular black milk tea with boba. Tea has ok flavor, a little watery. Boba is over cooked, way too mushy. Wouldn't get it again. Update 12/20/18: Panda Express Customer service reached out and offered to take care of us as well as addressing the issue. I like Panda okay but this one is consistently crowded, kind of dirty, but he employees are very friendly and always ask if you want a sample. The Santa Cruz Mission street Panda is cleaners better stocked though and that's saying something. I came to have my dinner, and it is 8:45 pm I walked to the counter and everything were empty ( the hot food ) I am vegetarian and as it is you have not many items to choose from. They had only one person cooking and everyone were following Everclean inspector, very wrong time for Everclean to do an inspection, we were like 20 people on line waiting for someone to help us. I definitely must have came in at a bad time, or the food was cooked by a cashier who had no idea what they were doing. I got a bowl of chow mein and orange chicken, which the Panda Express near California Ave. in Palo Alto masters almost every time. The food at this location definitely didn't get it quite at the same level as my favorite location. The chow mein was uneatable - it was barely lukewarm, lacking flavor, and was overwhelmingly full of cabbage. The chicken was slightly more warm, but the sauce was so light and flavorless. To be honest, I don't think I've ever had worse food from *any* Panda Express that I've been to (that's even compared to the now closed location at Hillsdale Mall). What stuck me as odd about this is that the containers were full at 1:30, when I walked in. As a former employee of this plaza, I know first-handed how crazy this plaza can get during the lunch rush - so I definitely either think that it was the chefs hour old food prepped for a lunch rush-rush-gone-bad, or the after lunch rush batch was just carelessly made. Since I work in foodservice, I don't usually care about customer service as long as they're not exceedingly rude and somewhat following corporate standards. But maybe the young male employee serving me was still in lunch rush mode, because he was purposefully rushing me through, even though I was the only customer in line?? Perhaps if I didn't understand store meltdowns from personal experience, I'd rate this location 1 star and never return. Had I known that today would suck, I probably would've just gone to Panera Bread next door. I've had decent food at this one before though, so I'm just going to give them the benefit of the doubt that they're just having an off day -- it happens to all food service shops, whether it be a family owned eatery, or a big national chain. When my order was placed, I was the only person in line. So, it is unclear why my order was so wrong. When we got home, we discovered that the two-entree plate had only one entree. The section reserved for the second entree was empty. The one entree I did get should have been called Black Pepper Celery, because it was a big scoop of celery with a little chicken on top. The worst part was the disappointed faces of my two children when we discovered that their kids meals were missing their cookies. I just can't understand how something so simple could end up so messed up in a non-rush situation. read more

So I am a little mixed on this PE location . They have a great selection of pretty good fast Chinese food that is normally cooked and great tasting. I understand that it is fast food so I am not saying that it is the ultimate in Chinese. What I have trouble with is the amount of dishes that are either too low to get a scoop on my to go box or are totally empty. The chefs in the back are always cooking, the smaller shop size makes that very noticeable. I also find that when I ask for any soy or chopsticks, I get a limited supply and the chopsticks are a splinter waiting to happen. Can we also say better access to napkins? Food quality is fine but the other items I feel need to be addressed. read more

I have ordered from Panda Express three times since shelter in place six weeks ago. None of the employees were wearing mask or gloves. When another customer complained, one of the employees commented back sarcastically loud enough for all of us to hear "Have a nice day". So this little cockroach was in my fried rice today. I bought my food and as I ate my rice I looked down and see something that looked nothing like a vegetable! I asked my wife to take a look and her response was "oh my god, that's a cockroach! Look at its legs!" I quickly took this picture and she took the food back to Panda Express. When she spoke to Mye the manager, she said "oh no it's a piece of celery" she then stabbed the insect to show her it wasn't a cockroach but it failed. It still had the legs and instead of cutting off like a normal piece of celery would, the bug got smeared when she tried to cut it down the middle. She continued to deny it was a cockroach and even brought a piece of burnt celery to show her but it looked nothing like what was in my plate, and there isn't even any celery in the rice to start off with! The manager kept trying to argue with my wife that it wasn't a cockroach. We will never be going back to this panda again. It sucks because we never had a problem at this location read more

Typical strip mall Chinese food. Plus a star for having my favorite shrimp with walnuts righ there for me to choose. Though, you pay $1.25 extra, and they don't give you as much in a service as the other mains. Their orange chicken is ok. Rice and chow mein are good. A step up from my local strip mall Chinese food place LOL. So when I am in the are and in the mood for Chinese, I would probably go back.
