I came here on a Tuesday evening at 8pm and the line was short. The resturant was clean and spacious there were many seats available and was playing love song "Million Dreams" music in the background. I love coming to Panda because you can eat healthy as a low calorie option if you order it right. For low calorie option I highly recommend small plate of black pepper steak (it has mushrooms, broccolis, onions, bell peppers etc) and side of steamed vegetables or fried rice if you don't like eating vegetables and drink plain water. Don't feel too bad eating the fried rice it's very light and has vegetables in it like diced carrots and it's not salty. Their grilled chicken are also very juicy and always tender I highly recommend it. I've been to all of the panda locations and none of the restaurants have my favorite vegan nuggets anymore not sure what happened. They should keep the vegan nuggets for those who are vegetarian or on low calorie diet. Also too bad they do not offer unsweetened iced tea none of the drinks are good if you have diabetes or on no sugar diet just water. Would I come back? Yes of course I would. This is one of the few restaurants I can come to for diet. I hope they will consider more vegan/vegetarian food options back again and offer unsweetened drinks. read more

Every Panda Express in San Diego fails to consistently provide good food and customer service. They disregard food safety while prioritizing a fast pace, while also failing to consistently handle in person and online order rushes. The management has shown an inability to properly supervise staff members to minimize these issues overtime, while also being inappropriately aggressive and demeaning to their staff. This contributes to an environment where the staff does not care about their job, the quality of the food, and/or customer service. Regardless of the growing amount of complaints over time, Panda Express continues to maintain blatant discriminatory hiring practices that are clearly shown across all locations when observing the staffs' demographics. read more

Did not realize there was a panda in this area but very pleased with the ambiance and cleanliness. Joey helped us out and had a great attitude and was very friendly. He even placed our forks on our bowls since we were dining in and the food items on the tray were neatly placed. Bathroom was also very clean from appearance and smell. The dining experience over all felt warm and inviting. Would definitely come back to this location. P.s. I've always been a fan of their insanely large drinks at an affordable price. read more

There was mold on my cream cheese Rangoon! I have always had great experiences at this location and the staff is friendly with quick service, but after finding mold in my food I unfortunately won't be returning to probably any Panda location again after this. The manager was kind and issued me a refund for my whole meal, and she insisted that it was not mold, but if it's not mold I don't know what else it could possibly be since it's definitely not the same color as the green onions in the Rangoon. I included a picture. I'm bummed because I like their food but now I don't trust the freshness or quality of their menu items. :( read more

3.5. Stars. Restaurant is clean and staff is very friendly. Never a long line. Only problem is they have started giving smaller scoops of the proteins. When the store first opened the servings were very generous, buy i would say the are about 70% of whet they use to be. This has happened the last three times we got food here. read more

I love that Panda took over this location! The space is larger than most. And it was SO CLEAN. I came in on Monday around 7:30 and it was pretty much empty. Service was fast and the employees were nice. There's one girl in particular who was so sweet and I'm sorry I can't remember her name because it was difficult to pronounce but she comped my drink because I had to wait for my food to be made. I have no complaints. I see people complaining about the quality of food. Seriously ,Its Panda Express. But overall I'd come here again. read more

First time visiting the new Panda Express in Clairemont. I was not impressed!! Walked in at dinner time 6pm. Friday night. I ordered the 1 Bigger Plate with Chow Mein and fried rice Honey Sesame chicken,broccoli beef &Kung Pao chicken They were out of a lot of food and the lady said it should be ready soon. When the food came out from the kitchen she poured it in with the other old food that was sitting there for a while. Needless to say some was hot and some was not!! She gave me lots of rice and chow main dishes but hardly any Honey chicken. I think there were 5 pieces of chicken. The kung pao chicken was fatty and a not a lot of chicken also. Lots of filler. The broccoli beef was just okay but not much beef with more broccoli filler. On a side note the place was clean. Only 4 people working there 2 cooks and 2 people working the front. Too bad the place sucked! I was never a fan of food just sitting there waiting for people to come in and eat. Hopefully they will change their ways and make it to order. I get it it's fast food but there's got to be a better way. I hear this restaurant is corporate so maybe they can change their ways. This brand new place just opened in the last month. Had dinner there tonight. Sharp interior with Lots of tables and chairs for customers who prefer to eat there. Clean and well- designed. Prices were reasonable. They will be taking lots of take-out orders. Slide along with your tray and select your entrees and sides from lots of fresh, good looking choices. Every item before me looked appetizing. My entrees were chicken with green beans,and orange chicken. I selected fried rice as my side item. Sadly, none of these items tasted as good as they looked! It wasn't even close. Everything I selected was tasteless. So just 2 stars for them tonight. If and when they hire a real Chinese food cook who can bring the food up to standard, I'll increase their star rating. I won't be back until that happens. read more

When this place first opened up, it was a good visit. The decor inside was crisp and modern and the staff was very friendly and full of energy. It wasn't even shortly after that they seemed over it and burnt out. While ordering my food, the person creating the dishes asked if I'll be using my Panda rewards- I replied no- I don't mean to be sassy but just focus on my order so you get it right. When I got to the register, the cashier literally asked me the same question again and I replied no again- I felt like she could have/should have heard the first guy ask me the same literal question but they were trying to pressure me into it. She mentioned I get 20% off my first purchase. Again I said no and she gave me a weird look- at this point I just want to pay and get my food. She then asks if I want to round up my bill to the next dollar amount to help some fund, again no again from me met by a weird look. Listen lady, if you want to help the fund then be my guest. Donate your entire paycheck if you wish. For the record the CEO of Panda is worth over 300 million dollars- I feel like they can donate rather than asking the customers that made them rich. Just let me order pay and eat. As soon as I sit down inside and start eating with my kid, one of the workers decides to stand on a chair right behind me and start high dusting. I turn around to see what she's doing and then go back to eating and she walks up and asks if everything's OK like is there an issue. Yeah lady, youre the issue. Why would you start high dusting right behind me when I'm trying to eat. I appreciate you cleaning but that is something that should have been done before opening or after closing. Not when customers are in the lobby eating and dust is being flung everywhere. I am surprised the manager allowed this to happen as well. Was so excited to see a Panda Express open in my neighborhood. Restaurant is very nice and employees are hard working. Unfortunately the quality of the food and portions size is below par compared to other Panda Express locations. My go to order is a one item bowl with veggies and teriyaki chicken. After two visits I will not be returning. Each time the chicken was like rubber with no flavor, chopped into huge pieces impossible to eat with chop sticks and the lack of free vegetables was laughable. Husband tried the kung pao chicken and had to throw it away because the chicken pieces were extremely fatty. read more

Clairemont welcomes their second Panda Express, this one in the Clairemont Town Square where the Pick-up-stix once was. Hopefully this one sticks. We need more selection on this end of Clairemont. The store is new, clean and well decorated. The Service was great. I ordered online but noticed the cleanup person checking with the in store diners on how their experience was. My order was ready on time and provided a generous portion of chow mien, white rice, orange chicken and honey walnut shrimp. The portions and taste was exactly the same as any other Panda Express I have visited. It's not the greatest Americanized Chinese food but meets all the standards of other Panda Express restaurants. Suggestion: Online the store location says it is at Clairemont Drive and I-5. Not the best description as they are close to 3 miles from where Clairemont Drive meets the I-5. A better description would be Clairemont Drive and Clairemont Mesa Blvd. read more
