Surprisingly, I have been here countless times and never review this Panda Express. Panda Express at walnut is one of few with plenty of seats, a drive thru, outdoor seating. Vibe is typical modern, clean, fast food chain style restaurant. Service is better than expected as they are super busy with drive thru order and getting people food from the line. I usually order ahead with their app to save time plus lately they have deals in collaboration with Dodgers. I ordered even bigger plate, they are really good portions! 3 dishes and one main. This location usually has good tastes and quality on fusion Chinese fast food dishes. It is fairly consistent. There are two restrooms. It can be busy, but if you just need something quick - use app and it will be there on promise time. I usually go in and pick it up. read more

I rarely leave reviews, but this experience at the Panda Express Walnut location on a Friday around 8 PM was deeply disappointing and deserves to be documented. We came here to celebrate my 7-year-old daughter's achievements--she had just won her softball game that evening and was recently recognized as "Student of the Month" at her school. As part of that, she received a Panda Express coupon. This was supposed to be a simple, happy moment for her. When we ordered (about three meals), we presented the coupon. The cashier wasn't sure and called over a staff member identified as "Hong," who said the coupon was expired. That was not an issue--my husband had already taken out my credit card and was clearly ready to pay full price. What happened next is the reason for this review. Instead of simply completing the transaction, the staff member looked at me and my daughter in a dismissive and contemptuous way and said in Chinese: "付不起就不要来" ("If you can't afford it, don't come.") Our entire family understands Chinese, including my 7-year-old daughter. She immediately became upset and started crying. I told him that his comment had caused our child to cry. Instead of showing any empathy or attempting to de-escalate the situation, he responded: "难道要我帮你哄孩子吗？" ("Am I supposed to help you comfort your child?") At that point, the situation had gone far beyond a simple customer interaction. When my husband addressed him in English about what he had said, he denied making the comment and escalated things further by threatening to call the police, even though we had done nothing inappropriate. This experience was not about a coupon or money--we were fully prepared to pay. It was about basic respect, especially in a place that serves families and children. What should have been a small celebration for a child turned into a moment of confusion and disappointment. On the way home, my daughter said, "Panda Express is really bad." That alone says everything. I hope management takes this seriously and reviews both staff conduct and how situations like this are handled. No family--especially no child--should have this kind of experience over something so minor. read more

I placed an order from the Panda Express app last night, and I picked up my order at my scheduled time today. (When the Dodgers win at home, order a Panda Express 2-item combo the next day on the app and put promo code DODGERSWIN. The price of the combo will drop to $6 plus tax.) It was a very good deal. I chose 1/2 fried rice, 1/2 chow mein, and two entrees- mushroom chicken and broccoli beef. I picked up my order via drive-through, and it was quick. The staff was friendly. The food was hot, and they gave a good portion of meat and sides. The chicken was tender and flavorful. The mushroom could be softer. I liked the chow mein more than the fried rice. 2.5 star average for this Panda Express?! I can only speak from my experience and it was a solid 5 stars. The food here is awesome and it's one of those rare panda express spots that actually has eggplant tofu. That dish alone is worth it as not every spot has that entree. The super greens were good too and they had the right amount of garlic but still not too salty with a little bit of "wok hei" too. The service was quick. My mom and seized on a dodger home victory so we both ordered a 2 entree plate online and the food was ready before the listed ready time. This review is for the Panda Express in the city of Walnut. I have been coming to this Panda Express for years. It has always been good just like most pandas. In the last year the food has been extra delicious. Chefs are currently doing an amazing job with the cooking of the food and flavor. The location is always very clean and the customer service is amazing. The food portions are very good fast service I ordered the plate with fried rice chowmein orange chicken and steak. Everything was cooked to perfection. The chicken was nice and crispy with tons of flavor. Initially, I spoke to a Spanish-speaking employee (about 165 cm tall) and gave him my order name. He told me my order wasn't ready and didn't check further. After I received the text message confirming my order was ready at 5 PM, I then approached another employee who was dressed in black. He didn't bother to check either. Both of them ignored the fact that my food was literally sitting right behind them -- I could see it myself, which is why I asked. By the time I got my meal, the steam and condensation had soaked through the bag and containers, leaving everything soggy. If online orders are going to be ignored like this, why offer a pickup option at all? This is a waste of customers' time. No explanation, no attempt to check, no respect. I have a soft spot for Panda, and so when we had a coupon in the mail for a buy one, get one free bowl, we had to go. Placed an order online and pickup was ready in 20 minutes. There's a small parking lot shared with the McDonalds. There's a drive through and indoor seating available. The Beijing beef does have a little bit of heat and is a good alternative if you're not feeling the orange chicken. I like getting half chow mein, half fried rice, but brown rice is available if you'd like to be healthy. Disappointed in the serving size! I ordered 2 bowls which i do on a normal basis for my partner and I. I've been coming here for a long time but the serving portion this time was absolutely unacceptable. I went to the drive thru and ordered and took it home. Of course they know that so on one of the bowls, they serve significantly less knowing I won't see if until i get home and the chance of coming back is slim. What's even worse is that this particular item is considered a "premium" item which means they charge a dollar more or whatever it is now which i'm fine with but my expectations would also be that they serve you an adequate amount. As you can see in the attached pictures, the bowl with orange chicken was fine but the bowl with the walnut shrimp is mainly rice...and 6 damn pieces of the shrimp...what in the hell? how is that even acceptable? a $10 bowl and that's all i get? totally disappointed and as a frequent customer, i'll have to re-think giving business to panda express when there are plenty of other options that give you significantly more. Go to happy wok in rowland heights where for about the same price, you'll get at least double the portions that panda express gives you. Panda plays the corporate BS game of shrinkflation to get the most dollar for giving you the least. This is the panda express on grand and valley in walnut. Also, next time you are at any panda express, pay attention to how the serve the portions, the employees are trained to make it look like they're scooping a large serving but at the very end, they'll shake hand to make most of the serving fall out. Stop Treating your Online Customers like Criminals ! A few months back I ordered a Plate on the App, and when I approached the cashier to pick up and told them my Name and what I ordered, he insisted I show him proof. I had to get my phone, open the App, and look up the order history to show him. WTF, it's not like I can walk in and randomly give them a Name and guess what the order is. And recently I ordered their $5 Dodgers promo again on the App, and at pickup the cashier now ask me to tell her my phone number on file before she can give me my food.
