Sesame chicken

The best sugar donuts I have had! If you are in the mood for super soft and perfectly Sugared donuts this is your place! They were also really quick with service and the food was super hot when I went to pick it up. Not including the sugar donuts, I was let down with our food. We tried the general tsao chicken and the sesame chicken as well as crab rangoon. The crab rangoon was mostly cream cheese, which I always expect the ratio to be more cream cheese than krab but I would have enjoyed just a little more krab. The general tsao and sesame chicken tasted okay but somehow tasted very similar. I would consider trying different items on the menu in the future.

My beatie swears by this place and there was a steady flow of customers while we were there. The are quick, provide vegan options but I found the dumplings to be greasy but the owner is super sweet.

Panda house is my go to when I'm craving Chinese food. They are always quick and the food is delicious. I always call ahead for pickup and am usually quoted around 15-20 minutes. There is limited seating inside the restaurant but, I've never seen anyone dining in besides their employees. The parking is a little tricky as it's a pretty tight parking lot with multiple businesses in the complex. I like to cycle through a couple favorites each time including the bourbon chicken, sesame chicken, general Tso's chicken or chicken lo mein. This past visit I decided on the sesame chicken lunch combo and an order of crab rangoons. I highly recommend the crab rangoons, I order them every single time without fail. They have great options for inexpensive prices. Lunch and dinner specials are offered within certain times. Ordering one of the specials is definitely worth it as you always get rice with both and an egg roll included with the dinner special. Of course a fortune cookie is always included! The portion sizes are great, I am always guaranteed to have leftovers for later. Everything I've tried at panda house has been delicious, fresh, and hot. You can't go wrong with anything off their menu in my experience!!

My neighborhood Chinese Takeout place was closed because of the virus, so I went on Yelp to find an alternate- after 4 calls to see who was open, Panda House answers! Thank the gods! I pulled up and ran in for a menu- I knew what I wanted but needed to make sure they had it on the menu- mixed veggies with shrimp & hubby got chicken and cashews. Both of us opted for the dinner combo which came with fried rice and an egg roll each. Prices were reasonable and this little place was cranking out orders for pick up and delivery! Panda House is in a little strip North of Ikea on Gate Parkway- and have other open businesses on both sides! While waiting for our order to be cooked- we ran into 2 other places! Score! Panda House owner told us they are our place from now on- lol. Once home- we both dug into our dinners. Egg Rolls were perfect. Hubby enjoyed his better than our normal place and mine was good too. Happy find and very grateful they were open.

Beef and Broccoli

Hands down the best fast food chinese in Jacksonville, love them so much. Everything tastes so fresh and so good. Always hot when they get it delivered to me (about 30-45 mins). The actual shop is very meh, but you expect that from a small fast food Chinese spot. Great people, they start to remember you as you become regulars (Because you definitely will). I remember they forgot something off my delivery order one time (out of the 43 times I've ordered) we gave them a call and they were so sorry. About 15 mins later they delivered it to us. Literally how awesome? Best beef and broccoli I've ever had, very tender meat and flavorful - without being overly salty. Broccoli is done well, not too soft, not too crunchy. The boneless ribs are good too, if you're into like a sweet marinade on pork. Lo Mein, can't complain much. Tastes how it should. The perfect choice for eating in and binging shows/movies. Support small businesses!

Tried YH Dim Sum and it totally hit the spot!…read more Everything we ordered was on point the shrimp rice rolls, sesame chicken, and BBQ pork were all so good. Flavor, texture, portion... no notes. The lychee martinis were a highlight (especially since they were doing BOGO ), and the staff made the whole experience even better super fun and great energy. If you're craving dim sum and a good time, this place is definitely worth the stop.

I love visiting Saint Augustine so I was so excited when I found this dim sum restaurant!…read more Unfortunately I was very disappointed. I was dining by myself. I always order a lot of dishes because I like what I like and I also know I'll have leftovers. I sent back the pan fried taro pudding because it was so bland and it didn't have many of the main ingredients in it. If it were there, it was so skimpy I didn't find any. (The Chinese sausage and dried shrimp) The pain fries soy sauce noodles were overcooked. It's suppose to be pan fried and it was not. Also very skimpy on the black mushrooms. Not very flavorful. The Steamed shrimp dumplings were mediocre. The skin was gummy and fell apart. The shrimp filling wasn't too bad. The shrimp with rice pasta was probably the best dish there. But it was still lacking in flavor. The steamed ribs with black bean sauce was very bland. The ribs were tough and tasteless. The braised chicken feet were over cooked. The texture was horrible like eating mush. The flavors were also off. The egg tarts looked good but the flavors again were off. Borderline going bad. It had that slight aftertaste of sourness. The shell was also flavorless. The BBQ pork buns were also disappointing. The ratio of bread to filling was off. Very small amount. But I was a little happy this happened because the filling didn't taste good at all. The hot tea was also disappointing. I always order jasmine tea when having dim sum. They used a low quality tea bag instead of real loose jasmine tea leaves which also includes the flowers. No fragrance at all of Jasmine tea. Needless to say, I will not be going back on my next visit. It was very expensive for what they give you. Especially since the food was so bad. I gave it two stars because the service was very good and the view was decent. I am Chinese... born in Hong Kong. So I know what dim sum should taste like. I wish I had seen the review that had a photo of the salt and pepper shrimp before I went because I would not have gone. Their salt and pepper shrimp is not authentic and I would have not gone and saved myself $80 for my lunch.

They're at 10586 Old St Augustine Road in Mandarin with a nice size parking lot so their location is great and parking isn't a concern. I'll get to the food in a minute but I'll start by saying that before we opened our fortune cookies at the end, I jokingly said "I hope one of these says 'you will get your original Facebook account back". They didn't say that but I included a photo of both because I feel like they're close enough As far as food goes, we split the Peony Sampler for an appetizer and loved it. It definitely did it's job as a sampler because now we know we like all of their appetizers and would order any of them on their own in the future. I ordered Egg Drop Soup after that because it's a favorite of mine. I always add a little salt to their version of it but I add salt to a lot of soups so that may just be a "me" thing. I had the Sweet & Sour Pork with Fried Rice for my entree, which is the same things had last time and it's still great. Between the appetizer and the soup and the entree, I was hoping to have enough to take home for lunch tomorrow and I definitely did. My wife had the General Chicken. She really liked the sauce because it was sweet but has a little bit of spicy kick to it. She said the same thing I said about the chicken itself; she loved that it was big pieces of juicy white meat. She was also surprised by how much she liked the broccoli which made for one of those things where you could get a bite of everything at once. She also had a lot to take home, so she's happy with that too. Thank you again to the person who posted about Peony in the group recently. We had a great lunch thanks to your reminder.
